I’m asking a genuine question and not complaining (kind of;), but why does the crunchy leaves under our feet perfect weather season last 1/40000th as long as the snow and ice under our feet season? 8 miles @ 8:14 average and my first strength workout back in a few weeks.
I took Skye and her friends to Yogurtland after school on Friday, and because of the Panda next to Yogurtland, Beck chose that over froyo. I love to get as many flavors as possible into my bowl.
Saturday morning, Skye had an early game, and the coach’s dog is there every game. Seeing her is the best reward for Skye after working hard on the field.
Knoxie boy had a football game, and he crushed his new play.
And the real reason we are able to get my kids to each of their things when we have multiple places to get to at the same time–> my nieces.
We drove up north to visit my in-laws. I drove because I was quite carsick, and when the GPS told me we had 26 miles to go, I drove those 26 miles and thought about running the same distance, and it shocked me. THE MARATHON IS SO LONG. This kind of scared me for Boston;)
We went to a pumpkin patch right next to my in-law’s house to pick out some pumpkins.
They fed us and had so many fun activities for the kids.
Sunday night was dedicated to celebrating these three and their birthdays (Knox, my nephew, and his wife that we adore)!
We brought dessert. This has been a family favorite for quite some time.
Hot fudge not pictured.
We got our family pictures back from Lindsey Orton! I couldn’t be happier with them.
Love love love.
Lindsey took me and Brooke’s family pictures for years, then me and Andrew’s wedding photos, and plenty of photos since. She is the best.
TIME FLIES.
And a special shoutout to Beck’s watch tan line;)

We had a busy Saturday doing yard work then meet friends for supper. My stomach hurt afterwards from laughing so much. I hosted my cousin (on my dad side,) his wife and my mom for supper last night. They try to visit my mom about every 18 months. It was great to catch up with them. I made spatzle which is family recipe as a special treat for my mom. Our daughter used to get car sick, I think she outgrown it. I do get motion sickness on planes if I look out the window as we taxi. That is one reason I always take an aisle seat. Our weather has changed from 90 on Saturday to 50 today. Your family pictures are great.
This sounds like the most perfect weekend, Heidi. I am so happy for you all! I just looked up spatzle and it looks delicious. What a big change! Enjoy:). Thanks friend, I am so happy with them!
Busy but fun weekend. Saturday was Homecoming so all the things, making a bouquet, steaming clothes, doing hair and shuttling around taking pics. Fun but exhausting. Thankful the rain held off till yesterday so it was a great day.
Our Thanksgiving stuffing and Christmas meatballs are go to’s.
I used to get car sick all the time. Now I drive everywhere:-)
Your family photos turned out so good. Great backdrop.
Your weekend looked amazing! I am SO happy it didn’t rain. They are going to remember this weekend forever. Hahah I just need to drive more often. Thank you friend. I am happy Mt Timp made it into our photos, too:). Have a beautiful day!
Your family pictures turned out fabulous! Time does fly by!
Family favorite recipes from growing up are pork and barley hot dish and for every birthday we make a homemade chocolate cake and frosting.
I spent Saturday taking care of my oldest recovering from wisdom teeth removal–man is that rough. Also a date. He got 2 kittens, they provided hours of entertainment. And we shot our bows and arrows. I have a long bow, I’m not good haha.
Thank you so much, Becky! I love them so much! I need that chocolate cake in my life for breakfast. Wisdom teeth removal… I remember that; it is SO bad. Two kittens- I love this! Things are still going so well with him, it sounds like! Thanks friend, you too!
You have such a beautiful family, Janae! Love the pictures.
We were at the northern tip of hurricane Isaias, so our weekend was a little rowdy weather-wise. No damage and our family in Florida came through it without any issues.
Thank you, Kathy! I am so happy with them! Thank goodness that there wasn’t any damage and your Florida people are okay, too. Just went to your Tamale Pie recipe; that sounds amazing. Off to get Dramamine for our next road trip… Have a beautiful day, friend!
I’ve always gotten carsick and my husband taught me this trick that actually worked – roll down the window and stick your hand out for a while. He’s a neurologist and explained it has something to do with your brain catching up to your surroundings… at least that was my takeaway from more complex jargon 😉 I hope it helps you, too!!
I’m so glad you are here! I hope you’ll stay awhile. Let’s get to know each other and bond over running, family, food, goals, and all the randomness that comes with life.

(shorts, top, shoes, socks) Jess and I had to pull out our speed shoes for our first run back on the roads in order to keep up with our friends who didn’t race. 8 miles @ 8:27 pace….
I was carless for a good chunk of the day, but my trusty scooter got me to my friend’s house to then carpool up to the mountains… When some friends wanted to do the same trail I did…
Let’s talk about shoes… Also, any guesses of what I’m looking at in the above picture? Your guess is as good as mine. I am a super shoe fan. Forever and ever. I love them. And if they…

3 miles with Andrew (28 for him), and 4 x 20-second strides. I’ll take today off, and then the goal is under a 6:06 pace on Saturday… I wish they let him pace us for the race. They…
(tank, shoes) 5 miles @ 8:28 pace. I LOVE a tree-lined street. Andrew makes us the best egg scrambles. I could eat this every day of my life. My legs need some massive recovery before Saturday, so it…
(long-sleeve, tank, shoes) Last little bit of speed before race day. 2-mile warm-up, 1 mile @ 6:07, 2 x 800m @ 2:59, 1-mile cool-down. I yoyoed throughout the workout, feeling strong and feeling awful, but that’s just what…
