Silentish Saturday!!!

We decided the treadmill (plus kid’s club so we had somebody to watch our kiddos) trumped running in 92 degree weather yesterday morning (we are in St. George now).  8.3 miles in 60 minutes and it was really hard but it felt strangely good to push myself and sweat like crazy.  It also felt really nice to not be running on the top of a mountain.

Raspberries post-run = perfection (don’t mind my nails… ;)

Went out a bit later and it was just a casual 105 degrees.

Two things kept Brooke entertained for hours yesterday:

Six miles in crazy heat and humidity and now, time to play with the pups and do a little yard work. Have a great weekend.

St George looks amazing!

Birthday party and home renos today!

Summer running means a lot of treadmill running for me. I have little tolerance for the heat! Plus I don’t mind running on the treadmill anyway, so it works.

Plan for the weekend is to spend time with my family and then we are having a joint birthday party for my niece and nephews tonight! By the end of the night I will want to pass out anywhere I can!

Roller coaster day! I’m taking my niece to Six Flags Great Adventure for the win!

It’s 8:30 a.m. here and now I really want chips and salsa!

Vacation with cousins are the best! We went a couple weeks ago and my daughter would pass out at bed time and sleep like a rock.

It looks like you guys are having a great time. I’m actually glad I’m not running right now because it’s been so hot. I miss it, if course but it’s nice not to be a sweaty mess.

That heat sounds intense, I’m glad you could run inside!

You guys had a great fun filled week!

I’m starting to work my way back into running but taking it really slow. Made it to a mile, I’m really anxious to get back to 3 miles. That’s my sweet spot when I start to feel like I’m making a lot of progress.

in a 10-miler this morning and it was SO hot. You were wise to run indoors!

Absolutely nothing planned for the day which I’m thrilled about! Have had stuff going on every night the last 10 days straight and need a break :)

Hehe, the raspberry! I’m eating some right now! The first of the season for me! TOO good!

I just love your blog. I’m getting caught up .. I binge read one night. Some folks binge watch a tv show .. I binge read blogs. Yours, specifically.
We had a “baby dinosaur” named Rue. My sister got my youngest son, Preston one for his 2nd birthday. He had horns and everything. Those fell off. Then he was just a salamander. Boom.
Me loves some chips and salsa. One of my goals is to get to Utah, meet HRG, eat at Café Rio, have some froyo for dessert, and call it a night. That would be awesome!
Finally, when I was much younger, I fell asleep after overeating popcorn shrimp at Red Lobster in Corpus Christie, TX. See, I can relate to the kids.

So happy for you and your daughter. Congratulations again!!

TIFFANY!! Thank you thank you for your sweet comment:) It made me so happy and so did your popcorn shrimp story! HAHA I love the baby dinosaur story! You need to get over to Ut asap and cafe rio and yogurtland—> it’s on me!

Oh my goodness! I LOVE Paula’s!! We ate there just last week while visiting family.

you are so lucky to always be in the most beautiful places! made even more beautiful by the addition of DQ and that salad. sounds like the dream right there.

today’s workout was inspired by one of your old spin workouts you posted. it was so sweaty and awesome. nothing like doing some cross training when you can’t run haha.

I just finished a three mile run on some gorgeous trails. Currently, stretching out and watching my husband play soccer.
Plan for the rest of the day? Relaxing and a Fourth of July cookout tonight!

Taking a little step back from running this month so I did a 20 mile bike ride this morning. 12 miles to the cat’s house that I’m cat sitting to feed hime than 8 home from there. Also a 3 mile walk with my dog!
Don’t have much going on today!

Just finished a very Hot 5 miler in 91 degree heat. Wasn’t so bad in the shade but the sun definitely slows you down. A bit bummed about my pace but it’s so hot, I’m glad I got it done!

Today I ran a short 3 miles in the morning and am going on a sunset run with friends tonight! I will always be in awe of how you run that far on a treadmill!

Reply

11.2 miles….I was on the road by 6:30 so I could beat the heat.
No big plans for today. The girls have a friend over so i’m just doing some long over due chores.
I threw some lactose free ice cream and reese’s cups in the ninja yesterday to make blizzards. It’s not as good as the real thing but it’s close!

I would opt for the treadmill too!7 miles today, cool enough to do outsIde. Those sun was strong though.

That salad looks amazing. That’s what I want for dinner. (Hungry run today, not sure why).

No idea what our plans are yet but we generally have fun doing random stuff.

St. George looks beautiful! I want to go sometime.

Taking today off running and doing my run tomorrow.

St. George looks beautiful but awfully hot! I don’t think I can stand such hot weather…. I’m dying when it gets to 88+and luckily where we live doesn’t get that hot (the west side of the island does get really hot like that but not 105…)
Today is errands day! Grocery shopping and kids gymnastics day! I’m gonna do my yoga first before the kids wake up :)

Reply

Its’ super humid and hot here too…we are suppose to get thunderstorms later today so I have some errands to run before they hit. (if they hit…lately they have been missing us after all the hype)

Reply

Oh my that salad looks sooo good! I ran into a store half way through my 10 miler to buy more water! This is how warm it is here too! Came back to find my little guy with a fever and a sore throat so it’s going to be a quiet weekend.

Reply

Yikes, that’s super hot. I was actually thinking of making a trip to Utah next week…but that weather might deflate outdoors plans :(

Reply

Southern Utah is WAYYYY hotter than Northern Utah! So if you are going up North you should be fine!

Reply

I was going to Ivins…that’s south right?

Reply

Oh yeah… that is pretty close to St. George. Maybe plan on doing outdoor things early on in the day or when the sun is going down. Either way it is beautiful there and I hope you enjoy!

That’s super hot! I live in Germany and 80 degrees feels like an oven to me! Question: will you do a follow up post about your skin routine? You posted about a new brand you are using and I’m wondering if it has been workin for you. Looking into changing up my face care routine soon… Thank you! Love your blog by the way! Read everyday even if I don’t comment! Thanks for writing!

I am still using Dermalogica and obsessed with it. It is by far the best I’ve tried and I’ve tried a whole lot of different routines. If I skip a few days or a week with it—> my skin acts up big time. Let me know if you have any other questions. PS I want to come visit you in Germany… I’ve always wanted to go there!

I guess I should start roasting tomatoes–is an oven good enough or do I need something else?

Running in the heat is never worth it!

We went to Hill Air Force Base for their annual Air Show! It was awesome, and PACKED!

Reply

We went for a hike at dusk tonight. It was still 91 degrees outside. So hot. So humid.

Reply

WOW you had an amazing and busy saturday:D

Reply

105!!!! ouch! that is hot! It has been in the high 90s in Dallas and I am over it! Thankfully, we have been spending lots of time at the lake!

Reply

I did 6 miles yesterday evening…it was 88 and SO humid, but I did it anyways and felt great when it was over. Ready to tackle my week.

Reply

Ah! I used to live in St.G and I love Paula’s!! I miss that city
