I love San Francisco! It’s been a long time since I’ve been there though. That should change!

I tried lychee a few weeks ago. It was really good! The texture took some getting used too but I loved the flavor!

Beautiful pictures! I’ve never been to San Francisco so it’s nice to discover different parts of the city. I’m about to leave for a 14 miler. It’s been a tough week health-wise so I hope all goes well this morning and that I’ll be able to jump back to my half-marathon training program. I tried Icelandic Yogurt for the first time yesterday…similar to greek yogurt…delicious!

Reply

Oh girl! I am so sorry this week has been a tough week for your health. Good luck girl and Icelandic Yogurt sounds delicious!

San Francsisco is so pretty, but cold! I’m making pancakes this morning and egg muffins! Safe travels home!

Looks like an amazing time! I was only there once and I had a 2 month old baby at the time, definitely want to go back!

Looks like a fun trip! I’ve never been to California but am planning a trip there soon! Sunday agenda is church, running, and reading.

Reply

I can’t even remember the last new food that I tried. It must have been a while ago.

California look beautiful right now. Utah was cold and rainy yesterday.

Reply

When will Utah figure out what season to be in ha!?!?! Hope you had a great weekend Jenny!

Reply

I tried a crawfish boil a couple of weeks ago at a good friend’s house. The best time ever. Sunday’s are always church and family lunch time. I love Sundays! I hope your day is blessed! San Francisco looks awesome!

Reply

I want to try a crawfish boil… that sounds like a blast. I agree completely with you about Sunday…. they are the absolute best!

I love SF! Looks like a great day! Today my husband and I are working on getting the nursery cleared out (it is currently my second closet, lol) and picking out new carpet. Hoping there rain holds off so I can talk my dog for a walk too. So great you get to reunite with Brooke today, the best!

Reply

Yay for being reunited!!! That’s the best!
I live in Southern Cali and minus our bad air quality, I love it here. We are located between the mountains and the beach so it’s perfect :)
We have a sick kid again this week, so we’ll stream our church service and eat a big breakfast together.
Last night my daughter made Acai bowls with banana and toasted coconut, almonds, and granola. It was pretty yummy!

I miss San Fran!! such a beautiful city and awesome place to visit. Today is all about relaxing for me. I haven’t had a day to just sit in awhile and I’m really looking forward to it.

Reply

We went on vacation to San Fransico amd it was so much fun. This was years ago though. It looks like you had a great time and I’m jealous.

Reply

I love SF! I think Ben and I are going in 2 weeks to visit one of his friends. Wish we were there at the same time!!

Reply

DANG IT!!!! I guess the next time we will see each other is when you come stay at my house. Have a blast with Ben and I can’t wait to see what you guys do/eat while you are in SF!

Reply

I went out to eat on Friday and Saturday at 2 usual spots and ordered 2 new things I never got. I am considering that “new to me”. I have trouble straying from my favorites.

Reply

ATTA GIRL!! I am totally the same way… another reason why we are twins ha!

Reply

San Francisco looks amazing! Still on my bucket list to go there.. Many of the tapas I tried out in Spain were definitely new to me, but one bigger dish that stood out was paella with seafood. Never had that before and it was SO good.

Reply

I love San Francisco! Looks like you had the perfect weather too!
I live in SoCal and really love it! I love being able to run on the beach ?
Glad you get Brooke back, and safe travels home!

Awww…I can see SF from the end of my block now! one of these days we will have to get together! Enjoy the rest of your visit :)

AHHHH Did you guys move closer?!? We really need to. ASAP!

I live in Cali! In Marin, just North of the GGB! I’m in Monterey this weekend to cheer my mom on running the Big Sur marathon!
Have fun in my city, it’s the best in the world! :)

Reply

AHHH so so cool!! We were over in that area yesterday! Have a blast cheering your mom on… that is AWESOME! And I agree… it really is the best!

Reply

I live in Mendocino, California, about 3 hrs. north of SF. Glad you got your run in yesterday because it is very windy here today and tomorrow! It’s a beautiful place to visit and to live, come see us sometime.
I’m heading out for a run soon, hope the wind is at my back. : )
Have a safe trip home.

Native Californian from LA—>Bay—>San Diego. All have their own beauty & charm, but I’m pretty darn happy in SD right now. Looks like you did the Bay Area right on your short stay!! Hit up all the nature & culture of the SF Area!

Reply

I live in SoCal about an hour east of LA. Last time I was in San Fran was for the Nike Womens Half a few years back and I had so much fun exploring the city (alone).

Not much on the agenda for today- a trip to the grocery store, and my 2 year is already wanting to get outside so probably a stop at the park first!

Reply

SUCH AN AWESOME RACE… I want to do that one again:) Enjoy your day with your little one!

Reply

Love your sunglasses!! You always have the best style! Where from?

Oh and I had an energy bar made with cricket flour yesterday… apparently its the new protein powder – super weird!!

Reply

Hey Tara! You are the sweetest! They are Ray-Ban Clubmasters. Love them! CRICKET FLOUR?!?! I’ve never heard of that!

Reply

Only time in Cali was for a wedding two years ago in Lodi! Loved our time there but want to go back since it was a whirlwind. Drove thru San Francisco, Stayed in Sacramento, Did get to see the John Muir Forest.
Last new food was sushi! Who knew I would love smoked eel?!

Reply

Haven’t tried anything new recently, although I am excited to try a lemon bar today! I had this wonderful 1/2 organic and 1/2 regular food grocery store within biking distance that had a baker who made THE BEST lemon bars. The store closed down over a year ago and I haven’t tracked that baker girl down and I can’t find any lemon bars that come close :( I am hoping the one today will, but when you have tasted the best, there is no replacement.

Reply

Okay, lemon bars are one of my all time favorites! HUGE bummer that the store closed and good luck today on finding a comparable one… keep me updated on the search!

Reply

That burrito looks amazing. I will have to try one next visit to S.F. hopefully soon. Tend to go there more in summer when central ca. Gets so miserably hot. I notice you said you tried the red bean bun but said nothing about liking it. Lol , oh well gotta try new stuff right?

Reply

hahaha you are right… It was good but weird ha. I think the texture in the inside made me question it even though the flavor was good. I’m just proud I didn’t just eat donuts all day like I usually do when I am here ha. Oh I bet central Ca gets CRAZY hot!!!

Reply

We had kodiak crunchy peanut butter power cakes for dinner last night. They weren’t bad. I made the muffin recipe on the back of the box with it this morning and the muffins are delicious! I didn’t use the cinnamon though. It didn’t make sense to me in peanut butter banana with chocolate chip muffins.

It looks like a good time in CA. Have a good flight back to UT.

Reply

I’ve been wondering about the muffins! Glad to hear they are good and I probably won’t use the cinnamon either. Thanks for letting me know… now I will have to try them!

Reply

We just moved to the Sacramento area, which is a couple of hours north of San Francisco. We haven’t gotten down there since we move here, but we’re so excited to go and eat!

Reply

Oh fun!!! Let me know what delicious things you find in SF because I am here a lot! Enjoy your new city!!

Reply

I live in SF! What trail did you run on? It is cool looking!

Reply

HEY!! So I stayed in Mountain View and ran on a trail that went right by the 85. It was a bike/runner/walker trail and super pretty and green:) PS I am jealous you live in SF… SO many things to do there!

Reply

I was going to ask if that was Stephen’s Creek! That pedestrian bridge looked very familiar to me. I lived in Sunnyvale for a year, and used to walk to Mountain View via a bit of the Stephen’s Creek Trail because there was literally nowhere else to walk in Sunnyvale. It’s a really nice trail.

Reply

Janae, I’m bummed you’re in the SF area when I’m in Seattle!

Next time we gotta run the LG creek trail! I will try my best to keep up with you!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Reply

Oh that would be a blast! We will have to make that happen!

Reply

I recognized that blue bridge being the Stevens Creek trail in mountain view! I run it all the time! Where did you get that sandwich? Where else did you eat in the South Bay?

Reply

HEY MARISSA!! Yes, such a pretty trail! So we ate at Crepevine in the South Bay but that’s about it… the rest was in SF. The sandwich was from Devils Teeth and it was HEAVEN!!! You have to go asap!

Reply

Thanks! I haven’t heard of Devil’s Teeth… Putting it on my list!

Reply

I’ve only been to SF once and I loved it! It looks like you went at the perfect time. When we went it was SO foggy the entire time!

Getting stuff ready for our fundraiser (umm we still have a month and we can’t park in the garage!) and we’ve got a virtual 5k all set up too! Exciting stuff headed our way!

Reply

Devils teeth biscuit sandwich?! If it is…they are the best and totally worth the wait!

Taking my three year old to track practice this afternoon. Nothing cuter than watching 90+ kids ages 3-12 learning high jump, long jump, relays, shot put and distance running!

Reply

YES YES YES YES YES!! That is where it was from…. pure heaven and totally worth the wait!!! Oh I bet that is absolutely adorable. I hope you had a blast!

Reply

I live in Irvine until 6 months ago and I miss the trails found in CA; I visited S.F. a few times and loved that area– it’s so pretty with so many fantastic restaurants and trails to explore. Enjoy the remainder of your trip!

Reply

YAY! SF! That is where I live. I wish I could have met up with you and gone running, lady! I know a ton of fun spots. But looks like you had a blast! Next time you got to run at Golden Gate Park, one of the best places to get lost. ;)

I love that bridge and the very north end of the trail where it runs into the Bay marshlands. I don’t go very often (LG Creek Trail is my closer 2 x week stroller run) but it’s a nice change of pace when I get up there.

Reply

I grew up in So Cal — Whittier. I miss it sometimes.

Reply

I have never been to Cali, but so hope to one day!!!!

Sunday for me was long run day…. 10 miles…. I am finally feeling like I have my “old” legs back from running a marathon in early March!!!! Finally, today was a run that didn’t fell “pushed.” YAY!!!!! Finally getting out of my “post-marathon funk.” :D

Reply

I love San Francisco and I haven’t been in years! I don’t live in Cali, but spent my younger childhood living in Redondo Beach. I miss the ocean.

Today hubs and I participated in a duathlon. :-)

I love, love, love your pics.

Reply

I’m not even sure the last new food I tried… I did try a new to me Italian restaurant last night. I ordered one of my favorite dishes, Chicken Picatta (sub mushrooms for the chicken). It was just okay. Not sure that I will go back to there. Nothing about it really made me want to try again.

Reply

I live in Ventura, CA and ran a 5K in Ojai today! The views are unbeatable (except for maybe yours in Utah). I haven’t tried any new foods lately, but maybe its time to! I tried making northern beans and ham in the crockpot today but it took a bazillion hours so I will have to eat them tomorrow. So thats kinda new since I have never made them before? I can’t wait to read more comments. I love running, CA and food so this is winning :)

Reply

WHAT!!! You were here!!! Ahh! Hungry Twenties was here too damn it! I live in Sacramento, about 90 minutes away and I was supposed to be in SF yesterday! Ahhh

Reply

I live in Sacramento too! More specifically, Roseville. How cool!

Reply

I went to watch the London Marathon. The elites are so fast, it’s just incredible :)

Reply

Uhhhh that burrito looks amazing and now I’m super hungry THANKS A LOT haha.

Reply

I used to live in San Jose, and went to San Francisco pretty frequently. If you ever get the chance to run Bay to Breakers, do it. Just don’t bring Brooke… it’s not exactly kid friendly ;)
That burrito looks phenomenal.

Reply

The last “new food” I tried was an oyster and I really regretted it haha!!

Reply

Love California and would move in a heartbeat if I could!

Reply

I live in California! We live in the Sacramento area, about and hour and a half away from sf. Although we don’t visit as often as I’d like. We just got home from our Disneyland trip (6.5 hour drive, not too shabby!) and it was a blast! Love having Disney pretty close. :)

Sunday we went to a baby blessing and then drove home.

My husband is ecuadorian so I get to try new foods all the time when we go to his family’s house for dinner! Although I can’t remember the last new thing I ate.

Reply

I love San Francisco – looks like you got so much packed in to your schedule, that burrito looks awesome!
