A 30 Minute Treadmill Workout and Sentence Per Picture!

My beloved Smart Water was on sale so I stocked up (I reuse them until I lose them because I lose everything so I keep my nice water bottles in the car/house only… yet somehow I lose those at times too:)

I didn’t have a ton of time to get in a run but I wanted to test out some speed so I made up a quick 30 minute workout.  It went better than I expected which got me excited and my foot/toe felt just like normal.  I stuck with a 0% incline for this but you could make it harder with some inclines too!

*I did a 5 minute warm-up and cool-down too!

30 Minute Workout:

5 x 1 minute fast (w/1 minute recoveries after each one)

4 x 2 minutes fast (w/30 second recoveries after each one)

3 minutes fast (w/2 minute recovery)

4 minutes fast (w/1 minute recovery)

For me:  recovery pace = 7.5 mph and for the fast pace I started with an 8.5 mph and ended with a 9.5 mph (I increased speed a little bit with each interval)!

Jess was on the treadmill next to me and while I couldn’t talk because I was out of breath I love just knowing I have a buddy next to me working it out on the treadmill/track/road with me.

I’m glad I didn’t have one of these runs today but we all know that there are plenty of runs like this too:

My old phone never turned on and luckily I had insurance and the new one just came… it was strangely nice to not have a phone for 5 days but I am ready to be able to contact people quickly again:)

I have an obsession with necklaces that mean something and my sweet friend gave me this necklace for my bday…  two triangles—>  one for me and one for Brooke.

You know it is a good day when you get this many stamps.

Me too! My hubs works for the Q and I was so excited when I found out who was performing this year!!! Had to miss last year because of a sick baby but I’m going to rock my heart out tonight! Have fun!

Reply

AHHHH YAY!!!! We are going because of the Q too:) Hope to see you there and enjoy every second!

That’s a good little treadmill work out! I run outside all year so I just end up doing intervals, tempo, or fartleks when I’m short on time, which seems like always lately! I just can’t wait for the long summer days again when I run in the morning and really don’t have to worry about it!

Sentence of the day: Getting my run over with so I can eat the dinner in the crockpot!

Reply

Oh I’m excited for more light for you! Enjoy your crockpot dinner… love it when dinner is made in advance:)

Wow! Was 158 your average heart rate for that workout? I’ve been working on running with a lower heart rate while base building and it’s harrrrrd not to push myself into a higher zone. Have to run almost 10 min miles to stay below 150! Ugh.

Reply

It wasn’t my average but 158 was where I was at for the very end of the workout. AWESOME that you are training with heart rate zones… I find that super fascinating!

Reply

Last and favorite concert I went to was Garth brooks in slc! Although the killers were a great concert too.

Today’s sentence: potty training is rough! Slowly we are getting there though.

Reply

I want to see Garth SO SO BAD!! Oh goodness gracious, potty training is super hard! My thoughts are with you;)

Reply

Oh, you should have gone. It was seriously like his old concerts where he was running around and everything. Pretty awesome! If he event comes back, it’s a must see

Reply

OH fun!!! Done and done… next time I am so there!

Reply

I have seen him three times. Wort every penny and traffic Jan!!

That treadmill workout looks fun! I bet it would make a great outdoor fartlek as well. Today’s sentence: After living here for nine months, I just realized there’s a Target two minutes from the trail where I run! So of course I went to Target after my run.

I used to LOVE concerts…. experiencing your favorite bands live is just so much fun…. Unfortunately, I’ve gotten a bit old (in spirit) and now I’ll only go to a concert if it’s an opportunity that I just cannot pass up, like an absolute favorite.

Haha I have three children and a full-time job….when am I NOT short on time?

I have to be the lame one here and bring up that you should NOT reuse those water bottles…. Unless you’ve researched that specific brand, most of them are intended for single-use and contain chemicals that will leach out in the water over time. My husband used to do the same thing so I totally understand the convenience.

Reply

Really? I had no idea… thanks for letting me know:) I’ll have to look into it!

Love concerts…..last one I went to was U2 in Philly a loooong time ago. They are my favorite. They came nowhere near me on there last tour. I was super bummed.

Sentence. …..get this fever outta here; -been sick since December.

My short on time workouts are yo run as fast as I can to see how fast and how far I can go.

Have fun at the concert!

My favorite concert so far was U2 last summer in Vancouver. They put on an amazing show, and clearly love performing. I doubt I’m ever going to experience another concert that tops it.

I managed to buy an Adele ticket when they went on sale in December. I’m really looking forward to seeing her live.

Reply

Yay! Have so much fun at the concert! When I don’t have much time to workout I will usually do a quick run because let’s be honest, running is my favorite. :) My sentence for the day is, “Warm weather in Provo please don’t ever leave!”

I love concerts! Last big one was One Republic last spring. They were amazing. I especially love their song “I Lived”. The video is very touching, it tells the story of a teenager who lives with cystic fibrosis. Very close to my heart ;-) But it is also a great song about living life to the fullest!

Reply

Agh that sounds like an intense workout! I’ve thought about implementing speed work into my life (literally never done it), but I want to give it a shot! I don’t know if I could last a full 30 minutes. Also, your recovery pace is a full mph MORE than me at full speed. You. Are. Crazy. Fast. Just in case you didn’t know.

The only concerts I’ve been to were both for Journey. I LOVE JOURNEY. I know I’m only 19 so that sounds bizarre but oh well hehe.

My sentence for the day: The Bachelor has some pretty awkward moments.

Reply

My son loves stamps too. I had 2 bad runs (back to back) this weekend. I hope thy’re better this coming weekend.

Ooh! I love concerts! I went through a year where I saw a ton of concerts, and it kind of burned me out (and also I’m old and they are loud). My last concert was amateur-night at House of Blues; it was a bunch of rock bands. My all-time fave would have to be Bob Seger, but I have to mention ALL of the times I’ve seen Sevendust live. They always put on a great show!

Reply

Your gym has so many treadmills! I love going to concerts…I just saw Andrew McMahon for my second time recently and he was amazinggg.
