1. It is weird.  I can run on a treadmill for many many miles without getting bored but when you throw in being injured and doing other things at the gym in the mix—> I have a few tricks up my sleeve to keep things interesting:

For example—> I hit up the stair climber next to megan.  I can do the stair climber pain free if I keep it on a lower level and if I keep my foot nice and flat (with no toe bending) which is nice.

IMG 6214

-And then I also switch things around to avoid boredom (or desperate longing to be running) from happening and do the other flat-foot activities like rowing while watching Netflix for a bit:

IMG 6216

-And then I move on over to squatting/lifting.  It sure is nice to have a bff that is a professional strength training person that comes up with the perfect modifications/moves for me.  PS I save my Brooks for running and use my other random pairs of shoes to cross-train in.

IMG 6225

2.  Our fridge was quite depressing so our next stop was the store.

IMG 6212

3.  She loves it when I tell her about all of the times I took her to Target as a baby while I carry her like I used to in the good ol’ days.

IMG 6257

4.  Brooke has been seeing me write in my journal more lately so she has been begging for her own journal and special pens.  Saying no to these eyeballs is next to impossible for me.

IMG 6262

5.  Can you guess which flavor we went for?

IMG 6264

6.  Yep.  You guessed it.  I’m really not a huge oreo fan (unless we are talking about oreo shakes or an oreo ice cream cake) but these were actually really good.

IMG 6265

7.  Jason’s Deli is always worth the 30 minute drive.  A steaming hot baked potato on a cold night…

IMG 6273

8.  Anyone love Zella?  I have tried on a few of their tanks and they are super comfortable but I’ve never worked out in them and would love to know if they are good to run in!

IMG 6275

9.  We were pretty excited for the few snowflakes that we got last night.  PS Who got completely dumped on with snow yesterday… some of the pictures I saw from the storm were insane!

IMG 6279

10.  Brooke’s angry face.  She wasn’t really angry but she likes to practice all of the different facial expressions she can think of.

IMG 6269

11.  Hmmmm I wonder if putting it like this makes it so that people never ever ever park there.  I sure wasn’t about to park there.

IMG 6235

12. Linds sent me this.  The Happiness Paper Hat… no better way to explain it.

Are you an Oreo person?  Do you love any of the different flavors they have come out with?

Tell me three things that you are doing today!

Do you grocery shop on a certain day each week or just go when you run out of stuff?

I try to grocery shop on Thursday or Friday because the weekends are insane! I will often drive all the way over to Scottsdale to eat at my favorite restaurant True Foods Kitchen!

Reply

I don’t really like all the Oreo flavored! I’m a purist hahah.

Eating a delicious Dutch baby, and then sledding with my niece! So excited to play in my first real snow in 3-4 years :)

I go when we need stuff… Which ends up being like one or two times a week. Usually it’s just when my sister says “shoot! Can you go get ____?” I HATE grocery shopping hahaha if I go, it’s mid day or during a patriots game, then the store is empty…

Reply

I’m not a big fan of oreo’s either but I do love a good Oreo shake. The red velvet oreo’s were actually pretty good though.

I usually get groceries when I actually need something. I always end up there after work when it’s crazy busy. Not a fan. I need to time things better.

Today I’m doing my long run, cleaning a bit and doing some reading! Pretty uneventful day!

Reply

I’m not a big oreo fan either. I don’t like crunchy cookies, I would rather just have soft ones…ha.

Perhaps getting bored on the machine because you are focusing on your injury or issue? Just a thought…I don’t normally get too bored on the machines anymore but that is just countless years from mindless swimming.

Girl you look strong! Best time of the year to work on lean muscle mass. I’m sure this “temporary change of plan” can benifit your running.
Three things : long run starts in 15 minutes; grading university students papers this afternoon and family diner tonight (sounds boring but it’s a luxury in my busy household!).
Wow, there’s no way I could say no to Brooke’s little face… my 6 years old son practices his “faces” in the Mirror…kids are so funny… what would we do without them???
Happy Sunday!

I try all the flavors of Oreos but always go back to the regular double stuff. I wish I could have some now but I failed to pick some up for this blizzard we had!

Today we begin the great dig out from the over 30″ we received in this storm! Should be interesting since I’m 6 months pregnant and my husband has a hurt back. I’m hoping a plow and our snow removal company comes today or tomorrow. I doubt we leave our house until Tuesday at the earliest but I’m getting a lot of cleaning and organizing done so I guess that’s good! I work from home so thankfully I can get my work done and won’t be burning vacation days!

Thumbs down on Zella. Bought a pair of their compression capris during the Nordstrom sale. Horrible to run in. They slid down and were just generally uncomfortable. Hope the tank is better.

Reply

Love love love Zella for running, yoga, and all workouts. Best part is that you can score good deals on items at Nordstrom Rack! Of course all the cute full-price stuff at Nordstrom is worth it too, especially if there’s certain items you want that are in season.

Reply

No way could I say no to Brooke! Not possible

I don’t want to talk about snow! Digging out from under 30+ inches of snow is insane. DC/VA is not prepared for this kind of snow :(

Reply

Oh Brooke is just irresistible!

My faveorite Oreo are the double stuff ones. I’m not into the crazy flavor a however I will say one of fave ways to eat the double stuffs is with peanut butter! Best combo ever!

I want to go a run today but I’m have issue with my sacrum – it needs to be adjusted and I have tried all the tricks from both my chiro and PT so I dunno what I’m gonna do now.

Have a great day!

Reply

I have a Zella jacket I like for running, although it’s not as nice as my Brooks, Saucony, or Gapfit running clothes.
I’m not much of an Oreo person. I used to like them crushed in ice cream, but that’s too much sugar for me now.

Reply

I’m with you – not a huge Oreo fan unless they’re in ice cream. My favorite ice cream place makes an awesome mint Oreo and coffee Oreo ice cream!

Today I am finally taking down my Christmas tree (depressing), meal prepping for the week and some sort of workout. I pulled an ab muscle earlier this week, so movement is limited. Boo.

I don’t have a set night to grocery shop. I like going late at night because it’s usually empty!

Have a great day!

Reply

Also? I love all my Zella gear!

Reply

Ha! I love the Happiness Paper Hat! That’s about what I eat from most days. :)

Three things I’m doing today: Resting. Watching football. Making pizza.

Reply

The I will be shoveling shoveling shoveling today! Ugh. We got 29 inches.
Happy Sunday!

Reply

That’s great that you can still do the stair climber at the gym pain free. Talk about a great workout!

I only like the cream filling of an oreo. I’m one of those people who won’t eat the actual cookie. Ha! That being said, I only eat oreos maybe two times a year?

Today I have a 9.5-mile run this morning, and then my husband and I are going to see the Revenant! Happy Sunday!

Reply

I don’t care much for Oreos. They are ok but I prefer them wing some sort of ice cream. (Like in a shake). I stay away from the different flavors, for some reason they make me not want to eat them more. I did try the mint one before and didn’t hate them.

Reply

24 inches here!!!! We are actually thinking we might have schools open tomorrow. Maybe.. It is pretty but ridiculous. My 5 year old has gotten stuck in it a few times.

Reply

I’ve been wanting to try the peanut butter Oreo! The only special flavor I’ve tried is the red velvet and I wasn’t crazy about it.

Three things I’m doing today: 1.) NOT flying to D.C. tonight. I was supposed to fly out around 5:30pm and my flight was cancelled yesterday morning! Happy to spend Sunday Funday at home. 2.) Quick shakeout run from after my treadmill 10-miler run yesterday. 3.) Accompanying my bff at Nordstrom’s since she has to try on bridesmaid dresses and needs a second opinion!

Reply

I’m not a huge Oreo fan, though we do try all the crazy flavors. I really liked the cinnamon bun ones, and we have some peanut butter ones in the kitchen right now.

Today I am going to do yoga, go for a run in the snow, and probably do some bookkeeping.

We have a tiny fridge, and bad planning skills. We go to the store almost every single day.

Reply

Just tried the Cinnamon Bun Oreo! Love the cinnamon. We got about 13 inches and I’m hoping to get a long run in today! Hoping they plow the road so I don’t fall 100 times ;)

Reply

Love peanut butter so I got to go with the peanut butter Oreos!

I try to plan my meals on Sun so I can make out my grocery list and hit the stores only once.
I really like your water pitcher in your fridge. Where did you get it from?

Reply

Mornin girl! Ran a training run on the treadmill this morning in my Donut Stop Running tank! Its my new fave!!! Any thoughts on throwing out another one for us!!??? Taking a Dance Fit class this afternoon with my girl, fun to do things with a ten year old :) Happy Sunday sweets!

Reply

oh another fun thing this weekend I ordered Megan’s super fantastic floral kicks! Thanks @munchercruncher!!!

Reply

Brooke is adorable!! You guys totally remind me of Gilmore Girls Rory and Loralei! (I may have spelled that wrong! ?) Too cute!!

LOVE double stuff regular oreos! I’ve never branched out and tried any other flavor…

I grocery shop almost every day…It gets exhausting but we eat each meal we buy at the store usually because A) We’re hungry and B) its usually mostly produce. But of course we do keep some snacks around too.

And I’m a Real Estate agent in Arkansas so today I’m showing some houses! :)

Happy Sunday!!

Reply

You really should practice saying no to your three year old. They shouldn’t get everything they want just because you don’t want to say no to them.

Reply

Haha oh believe me, I do… I just don’t look at her eyes when I do or blog about it ha;) I perfectly understand they shouldn’t get everything they want.

Reply

I usually grocery shop on Thursday mornings. I am off from work and it is less crowded than going on the weekend. It is also nice to go into the weekend with a stocked fridge so we are less likely to eat out a bunch of meals.

Reply

I love Zella! my bff who works at lululemon actually said that zella was started by some ex-lulu employees so a lot of their designs/materials are the exact same, just cheaper which I can always get behind. also, I’m an oreo lover through and through and have been dying to try the peanut butter ones and the cinnamon bun ones but they don’t sell them at my target! a cryin’ shame if you ask me.

Reply

Good to know! I love lulu but I usually only buy stuff on WMTM! I will check out zella!

Reply

I shouuuuld go grocery shopping when I run out of stuff, but I find myself going probably more than I need! I love to go early in the mornings when it’s not nuts and I can leisurely browse the aisles.

Zella is one of my favorite brands! They are true to size and fit well. I don’t know how I would feel running in the leggings that I have, but I wear them out and about and for yoga/barre/bootcamps!

Today, I am doing some work at a coffee shop then have to clean my apartment because I have having some friends over for dinner. Have a great Sunday!

Reply

I’d take an injury that still lets me work out over something that has be bedridden! I’m happy that you still get to do some physical activity to keep your sanity and maybe it even promotes more time exercising with friends!

I’ve never seen so many variations of oreos, but I think you got the right ones. I’m about to make a crazy big breakfast, go to church, and then I’ll run!

Reply

I gave up most sweets a little over one year ago, but Todd still likes the Oreos. I bet he would love the PB kind!
We grocery shop once per week and we actually just posted about it on Friday, so check it out!
1) We ran on the treadmill b/c of the crazy snowfall.
2) We are having lunch with my mom, sister, and her son.
3) We are flying to FLORIDA!!!!

Reply

I do enjoy an Oreo every now and then. And, I gotta go Double Stuf.

All I practically run in our my Zella tanks. I get them at Nordstrom Rack for like 10-12 bucks and I LOVE them! They are light and flowy. Just how I like ’em!

Reply

Not an Oreo person. They’re yummy but we try really hard to avoid processed food (and one of my kiddos is allergic and that would be said if we ate them and he couldn’t.)
Three things: Run accomplished, now church, then grocery shopping.
I try to grocery shop of Wednesday’s because organic/GF stuff is 10% off on Wednesdays at our store, but I’m never that together and end up going at least 4x a week.

Reply

I am certainly an oreo person, which is why I can’t keep them in the house!

Brooke’s journaling pic is too, too cute! I can see why you are powerless against those little eyes!

We got about 25 inches of snow yesterday, which means today’s cardio = shoveling!

Reply

Cinnamin bun oreos!?!? I need to find them in Baltimore!

We got 24 -30 inches of snow; not sure how much because I hate it and don’t like going out in it for any reason. I live at the top of a windy hilly driveway that’s a quarter mile long. Our plow broke yesterday. We’ll be lucky if we’re out by Wednesday. Shoveling has been my workouts the last two days….I don’t wear my Brooks for that…..lol

I tried sweet potatoes because you eat them all the time. I love them! Don’t know why I didn’t try them before.

Reply

I love Zella, both for working out and every day wear. The ‘Live In’ leggings are perfect for leggings as pants or for under a tunic/dress. I also ALWAYS find it on sale at Nordstrom, especially if you aren’t picky about colors.

Reply

THANK YOU CLAIRE…. I’ve been searching for new leggings to lounge in more so I will have to get these! Have a great Sunday!

Reply

When I was little my dad used to work for Nabisco making Oreos. So Oreos make me think of my dad. :)
I like to grocery shop only every few weeks but now that I have three teenagers that doesn’t seem possible anymore.

Reply

My dad worked for Nabisco also! I think of saltines because we once visited a factory and they had fresh, hot saltines coming off the conveyor belt.
And I remember when he came home with the ‘new’ test product.,…Teddy Grahams!!! APPROVED!!!

Reply

I love Oreos, especially the Halloween or Christmas ones!!

Today we went to the grocery, put away the Cristmas trees & I did an at home Insanity DVD since we still have lots of snow and icy roads!

We got 8 inches in Nashville! #runtowine

Reply

I am a huge oreo fan! I do really want to try the cinnamon flavor.

I tend to a do a big shop on weekends and run to the store a few times during the week, but I am trying to keep more food in the house so making meals is more convenient.

Reply

I like trying all the fun oreos but I usually don’t like them. Red velvet is good, and i liked the watermelon, but I stick with plain old double stuf!

3 things: run, laundry, and read while the hubby watches xfiles! It comes back after a long hiatus!

Reply

I’m so excited about The X Files!!! One of my favorite shows ever!

Reply

I love rowing! So fun!

Reply

We got hit with a little over a foot of snow in Richmond… So lots of walking and digging out cars today!

Reply

Those eyes!!! I just can’t handle it!

We got about 30 inches of snow…so we dug out once yesterday and again this morning. I guess we finally had to succumb to the fact that it is winter….although I still can’t believe it was 75 degrees on Xmas!

I find the gym so much less boring when I switch it up and jump from the stair climber to the rower to the elliptical to weights. Do you have a Jacobs Ladder machine at your gym? Insane.

I think I go to the grocery store every day…seriously…I just pop in for one thing and end up spending way to much! I love browsing the aisles and finding new things.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Reply

I have to be REALLY in the mood for it, but when I can do some WORK on some double stuff oreos. Otherwise I’m not really an Oreo person. Chips Ahoy, though.. well we don’t talk about those around me ;)

Reply

Ooh I need to get my hands on some Zella! The baby and I are going shopping today so maybe I’ll run across a new tank top. :) I used to love Oreos, sadly we don’t eat them anymore. I liked the plain old lame ones. I tried a few of the crazy kinds, but pumpkin spice ruined that adventure for me. Bleh.

Reply

I am not an Oreo fan unless its in frozen yogurt :-)
Three things for today- treadmill run- check, 800m practice with my team for our marathon relay- check, inhale breakfast/lunch- check!
I grocery shop once per week on Fridays. I try to beat the weekend rush and not forget things, ha!

Reply

SO many readers digging themselves out today! The pics on the web are unbelievable…stay warm and safe kiddo’s <3

Reply

I am not too much of an Oreo fan, but the Cinnamon Bun Oreos are unbelievably good!

Reply

I love Zella! I originally bought Zella tights for yoga, and the girl working at Nordstrom said she loved to run in them. I tried it myself, and now I exclusively do long runs in Zella tights! They go on sale at Nordstrom a few times a year, so be sure to watch for it. And all of my Zella clothes have been very durable.

Reply

Today has been spent digging out from 32 inches of snow! We are definitely not prepared to handle this much snow at once here in south central PA!

Reply

Love Oreos!!! Have only had original though. Only thing on my list is shoveling!

Reply

31.3 inches of snow. Shoveling snow has been my weekend activity.(3x yesterday and 2x today). I ran yesterday but knew I ‘d be too wiped today.

I don’t really like Oreos but do like peppermint Trader JoJo’s.

I generally shop as needed, I try to avoid Saturdays.

Reply

i don’t normally eat oreos, but i had their Smores version–it was heavenly. And i just got finished shoveling 3 ft of snow, i’m craving cookies now. lol

Reply

I went through an Oreo obsessed phase when I was in high school. I was addicted! But I told my mom there were worse things I could be addicted to so she was happy to supply me with Oreos. I love the Happiness Paper Hat! LOL. No new snow for us here in MN, just the same frozen stuff that’s been on the ground for weeks!

Reply

Three things I’m doing today – shoveling snow, shoveling snow, shoveling snow!

Reply

Be careful on the stairs! I actually got turf toe from falling UP the stairs! But then again, I am extremely clumsy :) Have a great Sunday!

Reply

Not really an oreo person but i do like the traditional flavour. As for shopping well the weekend usually does it for us.
Today; We walked around London – loved it! Had mexican – pretty disappointed with the place we tried and also homemade baked chicken fingers for dinner!! Yum!!!

Reply

I would have gone for those Cinnamon Rolls Oreos!!! Yum! Haven’t tried the PB yet but I’m sure they are delicious, too :)

Three Things: Recovering from yesterday’s windy 11-miler, hurried to bake pb cookies for church potluck this morning, church with the fam!

Reply

Haha love the food pyramid!!! Way to go with mixing up your workouts while you can’t run. I try to limit my grocery shopping but always seem to forget something so I have to go back for things here and there.

Reply

Take care of yourself Janae! I hope this injury heals up quickly. <3

Reply

my husband, weirdly, loves to go to the grocery store so he goes almost every night. Really. If it is left to me I would try to go only twice a week. I like to make a list and just do as few runs as possible.

We got about 8-12 inches of snow, I’m guessing. More than was predicted for central CT but a LOT less than we had last year and the year before, and the year before. Today I took my little to a birthday party, then we sledded in our backyard ( it has a very steep slope) and I did some work (bleh).
I LOVE oreos. But I haven’t eaten one in I don’t even know how long!

Reply

28-30 inches of snow here. Nice full body workout with a shovel.

My wife is an Oreo fan–no double stuff. PB is good, and we also like mint.

Reply

Don’t like oreos actually I don’t really like cookies. I guess that’s good right? :)

Reply

I love Zella! Their live in leggings are my favorite to run in but I also love their tank tops – I usually buy during one of their sales as they usually have great pieces included in their sales.

Reply

I love Oreos. On that note, have you seen the ads for the thin ones? I don’t get it.

Three things: strength training, working, grocery shopping.

I think I go to the store nearly every day for groceries.

Reply

S’mores oreos kind of made my summer. They were fantastic. I really want to try the cinnamon bun ones though!

Reply

I can ignore regular Oreos ’til the cows come home–they are one of few sweets that can be in my house for more than 10 minutes without me demolishing them–BUT give me MINT Oreos and they are gone in a heartbeat!

Reply

I LOVE oreos- double stuffed are the bestttt. Which is also why I don’t ever buy them haha. ;) And that happiness paper hat is hilarious.

xo

Reply

I need to find these oreos!! Looks like a Target trip is in store for me!

Reply

Yes I need to get those Oreos as soon as I can get out of the blizzard here!

Reply

Love the Zella brand! Comfortable, lots of choices, great prices!

Reply

Yup, we were one of the ones that got dumped on. Center valley, pennsylvania. Something like 31.9″ when all said and done I think.

Reply

It is really hard to resist the cute notebooks at Target. That said, it’s hard to resist buying everything in sight when I’m at Target…
