Celebrating my chest exploding and my first double digit run since the marathon.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing mothers and women out there that support, care, influence, serve, comfort and love others so selflessly.  There are so many incredible women/mothers out there and I love that we get to celebrate them all today.

I don’t know how I got so lucky to have this lovely lady as my mother.  She is there for me every. single. day.  She is my biggest cheerleader, my best friend, the best grandma ever to Brookers and my biggest example.

PS I read this quote somewhere the other day and it is so true for how I feel about my life:

‘Life doesn’t come with an instruction manual, it comes with a mother.’

I also have to make a little shoutout for Brooke——>  being her mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me and the amount of love I feel for her nearly makes my chest explode every time I hear her little voice or get one of her bear hugs.

I had my first double digit run since the marathon yesterday and it felt great (don’t get me wrong, it was hard because running isn’t easy but my body felt ready to go).  I am so happy that I actually followed through with taking enough time off after the marathon because I am pretty sure that I would not be singing the same tune (aka I would probably be exhausted and/or injured) if I didn’t take some time off.

I did 10 miles (on the treadmill) and started at a 7.3 mph and bumped it up .1 each mile.  Finished with an average pace of 7:45.

I tried out the PureProject 3.5” shorts for my run and they win.  They are definitely short but extremely comfortable.  I love the slits in the front and the super light  and soft material.  The waistband has to be my favorite part of the shorts because of how thick it is… you forget that they even have one yet it keeps the shorts in place.  No cutting into your sides with these!

Brooke helped me out with a few minutes of strength training afterwards.

We got to meet up with one of our absolute favorites for lunch.  8 years of friendship and many more years to come.

We went to her favorite (Aubergine) for lbs of veggies in each salad.

Once it is all chopped up and mixed with the dressing.  What a 48 ounce salad looks like:)

We talked forever and then went grocery shopping together because my goal is to start eating at home again.

But then right as I was about to start making dinner my parents called to take us out for turkey sandwiches.  Eating at home will now start today.

Cranberry + turkey is one of those food combinations that just makes the world a better place.

My dad sneaked away for a bit and then came back with a sugar cookie for Brooke.

Enjoy your Sunday and fill me in on what is going on in your neck of the woods!

I’ll be spending Mother’s Day with my mom and my whole family. It’s extra special because it’s our last visit with them before we move to the West Coast.

Happy Mother’s Day, Janae! At least when you eat out you are making super healthy choices! IMO, just as good of choices as you would make at home. Plus eating out w/ others is such a fun & social time!

I wish people would sneak off and bring me cookies! :)

My Sunday is going to be spent getting organized for Monday – laundry, dishes, and planning my first official toddler/preschool gymnastics class which I am both really excited and really nervous about.

My mom is here visiting me and she is having a bad influence on me! Yesterday we went shopping and quite a few things fell into my basket, and today instead of getting up early for a run I slept in! Or maybe I just wanted to sleep in because I like running at sunset instead, who knows?! :)

Happy mothers day beautiful!! Congrats on your first long run post marathon and waiting till your body was ready! I ran/walked about 8 miles this morning, which was more than necessary following our week-long cruise filled with not the healthiest good! Cooking at home is on my goal list too:)

Happy Mother’s Day, Janae! Today is filled with coffee, baking, Elmo, and – of course – time with my mommy! I think we’re going to my brother’s place later for a cookout shindig. Since I’m a vegetarian, I get to steal extra time with my niece while everyone else grills. The perks!

Happy Mother’s Day! My mom and mother-in-law are coming over to my house today for hamburgers on the grill! I am officially ONE WEEK again from my marathon and I am beyond excited! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten this excited for a race before in my life.

Happiest of Mother’s Day, Janae! To you and to your momma.

I was so excited to come in 2nd place in a Mother’s Day half marathon! (And there were even more than two people my age running! lol)

Spend the afternoon with my mom, kids and hubby at one of our favorite wineries having a picnic on their beautiful deck overlooking the pond and vineyards.

I hope you had a great Mother’s Day! I think we are both very fortunate to have awesome moms. :)

I’m going to have to investigate those Pure Project shorts.

And, I think an Aubergine needs to be built in Tampa- that place looks amazing!

I had great day over here. Met up with the family for an early Mother’s Day lunch, and then spent some quality tie with my man running errands and just hanging out. It was the perfect combination of staying busy but still able to feel relaxed.
