I used to do Tuesday Tangents (because that sounds a lot cooler than Monday Tangents) but I just can’t get myself to wait until Tuesday to post them.

-Something is very wrong with this picture.  I need to put a little more thought into what I wear when I go outside.

I did a few miles on the treadmill and then I went to a strength training class.  We worked each muscle group for 4 minutes straight.  I am pretty sure my shoulders almost fell off during the 4 minutes that we did shoulder moves.

-A few people have asked how I get away with working out and not washing my hair every day.

I keep it classy and I just blow-dry my hair a bit (I do take a shower after every workout, I just don’t wash my hair every time:).  I used to use dry shampoo but once I ran out of it I didn’t buy any more and I honestly can’t tell the difference.

-The absolute best samples ever are at Target today (if you live in the area, I suggest you get there right away for some free Ghirardelli).

-Leave it to Kara’s Instagram to always motivate me.

Speaking of movies, who has seen The Hunger Games:  Mockingjay?  What did you think?  How did you like the ending?

-I absolutely loved it.  Loved.

Tell me some of your Monday Tangents!

Who else has snow at their house today!?!

No snow here. Supposed to get to 60 degrees this week. I probably shouldn’t complain about that.

I haven’t seen it yet! I’m so excited though!

I was going to (try to) avoid shopping, but that brooks shirt is awesome! I will be doing some shopping now! Probably while I’m still at work. Everyone needs a break, right?

I totally blow dry my hair when its sweaty. Nothing wrong with that.

SIXTY DEGREES… lucky duck! Yes, yes, yes… you need a break. Have an awesome rest of your day:)

Hungryrunnergirl,
Several months ago, you posted a link for a website of a company that delivers healthy snacks. At the time, I thought I would remember the website, and now it escapes me. Can you please let me know the site.
Thank you and love your blog!

Yes! Thank you!

No snow in Phoenix. OMG…it would be madness if it did snow here. I really want to see the new Hunger Games, but I haven’t seen the second one yet.

Reply

Your homework—> watch the second one tonight and go to the new one tomorrow night:) I am so jealous of your Phoenix weather right now! Have an awesome day Megan!

I like your double tap trend. I am going to go home and double tap Adam’s forehead just to let him know I still like his face (no speaking necessary, haha, jk) :)

No snow here! The high today was 88 degrees, but I think it’s supposed to dip down into the 70s for Thanksgiving so we can have a nice chilly holiday! Hah!

Reply

Adam will love it:) 88… HOLY COW!!!!!!

Reply

You’re telling me! My run this morning was super hot + sweaty.

PS: Thanks for the tipoff on Brooks. I needed to order a new pair of shoes anyway… and a few other things fell into the online basket because you gotta treat yourself during the holidays right?! Merry early Christmas to me! :)

Mockingjay was INCREDIBLE. Just saw it last night.

No snow here, it was 42 for my run this morning, but got back in the mid-sixties which is how it looks like it will be for the next few weeks. But I want my highs of 45 back!

I’ll be double tapping a LOT of people this week at Thanksgiving dinner.

I LOVED your Women’s Running article! Staying mentally tough is the hardest part!

Reply

I don’t wash my hair everyday either. Dry shapoo didn’t do anything so I gave up with that as well!
Everyone gives me funky looks for wearing shorts unto the gym during winter. Observation, they are usually meat heads so hmmmphf!

No moooore yummy samples. I’m eating at a thanksgiving level already :-/

Reply

Monday tangent – my internal body clock now wakes me up at 5:45am every morning, running or no running. No double tap for that one.

Reply

I still get up at 5 even though i’m on vacation

Reply

I had a super productive day at work today. Unusual for a Monday.
I ate my breakfast and lunch less than 3 hours apart.
I’m waiting for my bus (I work by macys in NYC) and they have already set up for the thanksgiving parade!!

Reply

I’m ordering things from Books soon anyway – can’t wait to get the shirt!

I only shampoo my hair once a week as well. I just rinse and condition the rest of the week. (I have curly hair so constant moisturizing is a must.) It’s a great routine! It took time for my hair to get used to it, but now it is so soft!

Thanksgiving is going to be great! I can’t wait!

Reply

We had 50 mile per hour winds today in Michigan, it was N.U.T.S.! Ummmm Mockingjay was amazing! Such a great end, I’m so anxious to see part two!

Reply

We should have some snow next week.

Haven’t seen Mockingjay yet! I hated the book, but I’m still so excited to see the movie.

Reply

I was at my target today and they most definitely did not have those samples. I feel so cheated.

I do the same thing with my hair, but still use dry shampoo. I need to wean myself a bit from that stuff though. I think I use too much and it is not washing out all the way.

Those markers really are the best and there was not more than a skiff of snow at my house today.

Tangent: Evan is next to me and I am trying to teach/get him to play with my hair. Is that super creepy or borderline ‘mother boy’?

I haven’t seen mockingjay yet, but I want to so badly.

I should have double tapped your forehead when I saw you out running Saturday #majorregret

Reply

I really want to see the penguin movie too… BUT I don’t have a kid so that might be weird.

I often have plans after my evening run so I have to Blow dry the sweat out too and I just touch up my hair with a curling iron and VOILA! No one can tell the difference! (At least that’s what I tell myself)

I saw Night Crawler this weekend and holy cow – it is messed up!

Reply

yeah Night Crawler spooked me for awhile. Haven’t viewed news video the same since. Now it kind of all creeps me out.

Reply

I’ve read all of those articles and they fascinate me!

I just saw Mockingjay tonight! I loved it, it was just so good – hate having to wait for the final one now! I always think it’s crazy that Katniss is Jennifer Lawrence, she looks so different in the role?!

Reply

I cannot even imagine that weather right now honestly. We had bitter cold last week and now it’s 75. I’m glad we aren’t in Buffalo where the snow is all melting. I enjoyed that article you wrote women’s running.

I also saw that Holiday shirt at work and I think I’m going to buy it.

Reply

Hey congrats girl on this weekend!!!! So happy that you are B.A.C.K!

Reply

Yep. I don’t wash my hair very often either. Maybe twice a week. It’s much happier.

Reply

I’m not sure I can read any of the comments (had to scroll through quickly), because I have yet to see Mockingjay. I am trying to finish up the book before I go see the movie, so I imagine I’ll see it within the next week!! Can’t wait!!

We’ve got a little snow left at our house. But now, it is the ugly type of snow that is patchy and full of dirt and rocks. I could do without it.

Reply

I saw Mockingjay this past weekend and loved it!
It was 70 degrees in my part of North Carolina today, so needless to say, no snow :)

Reply

I absolutely loved Mockingjay too!!! I can’t wait for the second half!

Reply

I can’t seem to get away with not washing my hair every day, workout or not. It’s pretty fine and gets greasy and flat after skipping just a day. Going to check out the Women’s Running article now :)

Reply

63 degrees in NH- mother nature has gone crazy! (I am NOT complaining).
I have curly hair so I can skip washes but need a headband for the forehead frizzies.

Reply

Where is your white sweater from????
I love it!!!!!

Reply

I’m hoping to see Mockingjay this week…can’t wait!
No snow here in TN. It was 60 degrees today.
I meant to spend the day resting and recovering from yesterday’s marathon, but I got preoccupied with Christmas decorations!!

Reply

I’ve tried the blow dry my sweat technique but at that point I might as well wash it because my hair usually looks like I jumped out of the shower after a run :)

I just gave my dog a double tap. He gave me a kiss. It’s the like button but better!

Reply

No snow today- it was 55 when I woke up, and in the low 30s by lunch time. The wind is howling now, so I think a storm is moving in…

Reply

75 here today…and snow on Thursday. Welcome to Virginia weather!

I loved Mockingjay, too!

Reply

I saw mockingjay yesterday to celebrate finishing my FIRST marathon (Philly)! I loved the movie. and the marathon :) thanks for being an inspiration!

Reply

It actually rained so hard last night that all the little snow we had left melted; I hope that here on out it will never rain until spring!

Reply

No snow for me. I would love some rain though. California is in a drought so any rain is very much appreciated. Today I went to a patient’s funeral. It was a celebration of his nine months of life. Beautiful service, wonderful family, my heart is full today.

Reply

No snow in San Jose, CA! It is a “brisk” 60 degrees here.
I have not seen a lot of the movies that people keep talking about these days (Interstellar, Mockingjay, Big Hero 6). I’ll have to go this week since I’m on Thanksgiving break :)

Reply

I loved the “end” of the Mockingjay too! It’s the perfect transition for what the rest of the book has in store. I can’t wait for part 2 to come out!

Reply

In the morning I had snow but by the time I got home from work it was all gone!
I am so excited to watch Mockingjay, this weekend maybe?

Reply

That sweater shirt….SO CUTE!

Reply

I really REALLY want to go see Mockingjay – it will happen soon.

I have a new end of year goal – if I run 140 more miles I will break 1,000 miles for the year, which I’ve never done! :)

No snow here today, it was in the 70s. But now we have a winter storm watch for Wednesday – 6-10 inches. No thank you.

Reply

Mockingjay was amazeballs! I loved it!

Monday tangents: I’m annoyed that I have to share my birthday with our church Christmas party (1st world problems). Best part of my day: my neighbor ordering Victoria’s Secret 49er gear that was the wrong size for her so she passed them along to me! Woohoo!

Haha, no snow here since 1999.

Reply

I saw hunger games last night and kept saying I should have retread the book. I forgot most of what happened. I thought it was pretty good, though. I wish they didn’t make it two movies! :) no snow here in Boston – rain this morning with temps in the 60s!

Reply

No snow in San Francisco. And I definitely don’t wash my hair after every workout. Yes I shower, but yes, I rely on dry shampoo and a little fluffing with a blowdryer to put my hair right back in the same ponytail it started in. Hope you have a good night! :)

Reply

Watched Catching Fire Saturday! Loved it too!! Also by chance ended up at a 21-and-over showing and watched the whole thing in a recliner. Ah-mazing!!

Reply

oops meant Mocking Jay. I love them all! :P

Reply

Holy snow! I am visiting family, and my hubby is in Provo and didn’t mention snow….he must’ve forgot I guess. I am so excited to see Mockingjay with my hubby in a couple of days :)

Reply

NO SNOW…. but cold. Worst kind of weather. Waiting for some snow so I can start my cross-country skiing cross-training!

Reply

snow and ice here, I am already tired of the cold

I love kids movies, having a child is such a great excuse why you have to see it

Reply

I think I’m going to go see mockingjay this Friday while all the crazies are out shopping ;)

Michigan weather has been insane lately. Yesterday it started in the mid-50’s with rain, then by lunch was in the 40’s with sleet/rain/snow mix and the most ridiculous wind (trees blown over in the road, trash cans in the road, umbrella’s wasted), and ended up in the 20’s and snow/ice. All in one day!

Reply

girl, baby powder in the hair! works so much better then dry shampoo, just make sure you blow dry the sweat out first!! :) i have done this since high school when sleeping till five min before i had to leave was so much more important than a shower! :)

Reply

AHHHH I LOVED MOCKINGJAY!!! When I first left the theater, I was in shock and basically thought the ending was terrible but then I couldn’t stop thinking about it and how incredible it was and oh my goodness I may have to go see it again!!!
Btw, I hardly ever comment on your blog Janae but I had to tell you!! I ran my second half marathon on Saturday and I got third in my age group (16-18)!! I got two medals! I am so thrilled! Just had to tell you!

Reply

No snow for us………….last week there was an unseasonal high of 30 degrees during the day, and my AM runs were 17 degrees! It has returned to normal (50’s) now, but it is so weird with the weather this year!

I want to see the penguin movies seeing as I take care of penguins, but my little bro is sick and going out to a movie this week won’t happen. Guess I will wait until DVD is available.

Reply

I need to see the new Hunger Games movie! I totally forgot that it came out already! Eeeekkk! I’m obsessed with penguins, so I want to check out the Madagascar movie too!

Reply

I work in a children’s hospital and the Penguins of Madagascar came to visit the kids yesterday! It was great, all the kids loved them
