Brooke. 19.5 months. Just a little update.

Just a few things about the Brookers now that she is 19.5 months old.

IMG 9371

-She absolutely loves to help out around the house.

IMG 9406

-If she could be outside 23 hours a day she would (the other hour would be reserved for playing with her toy kitchen).  The second she hears a bird she stops everything that she is doing, stands like a statue and watches the bird until it flies away.

IMG 9450

-She finally can tolerate sand.

IMG 0212

-That little face.

DSC 9613

-Totally normal amount of hair for a 19 month old right?  Yes, she is trying to put some lip gloss on.  I don’t know where she would have learned that from?!

IMG 9068

-She has mastered the pouty lip.

IMG 9015

-She loves carrying her doggy purse everywhere we go.  She also really loves holding hands and it will be the saddest day in history if that ever stops.

IMG 9077

-She is rocking her sleeping.  7:45 p.m. to 7:30ish a.m. and usually a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day.  I cannot take any credit for her awesome sleeping schedule…  She is a natural.

-Favorite foods: eggs (she giggles whenever I bring a plate of eggs over to her), noodles, broccoli, apples, ice cream, avocado, chicken and string cheese.

-Words she is saying now—>  MOMMA (FINALLY!!!!), cheese, duck, doggy, GO (when we listen to ‘Let it Go’ in the car she repeats ‘go’ the entire song), no and ouch.

-She can already run pretty fast.

-She loves her grandma and grandpa so much.  She is also obsessed with my sister and whenever we pull up to my sister’s house she starts clapping.

-Each stage gets better and better.  It is amazing to see this little girl grow up and her personality come out.

Aw! She’s getting big so fast! Kids are the best! Every age they are is the best age ever, sure there are hard parts, but the good always outweighs the bad.

Love this! We love watching her grow and do new things! Annabelle started walking like a champ last month and she can say dada, mama, baby, me, and pea. :-)

Well, my little man is almost 13 months old now! He’s been a teething maniac lately and is running a fever today :( Poor guy.

He LOVES bananas, playing his toy guitar, and riding in the jogging stroller!

Brook is such an adorable little girl! Eli has mastered the pouty lip, too. It’s not such a good deal for me because I’m a sucker for his pouty lip!

Love reading about your sweet daughter. Mines seven now. She still holds my hand and tells me I’m her BFF! I’ll be so sad the day that ends. It does keep getting better and better.

My oldest is 19 and will occasionally still hold my hand and calls me her BFF. It’ll still be there. Just maybe not EVERY day.

Brooke is so cute! Love the pouty lip, those cute little teeth, and all that hair!

My boys are all so big. My 14yo hasn’t hit that awful teenager stage yet – I hope he never does, but he’s just taller than me now & loves it.

My 11yo loves ALL THE BRIGHT COLORS. His favorite outfit right now is cobalt skinny jeans (which are baggy on him because he’s so skinny himself), a fluorescent yellow tee shirt and kelly green socks.

My 8yo loves notebooks of every size, shape, and style and loves taking notes at church.

Being a mom is awesome. I love seeing the people these kids of mine are growing up into.

Thank you for sharing. My husband and I never had children but I enjoy every minute with my nephews and all my friends kids and I love reading about your little angel!

She really is a blessing :) Sounds like you are totally loving being her mom :)

So cute, I love how you talk about her-you sound like the best mom ever. She has so much facial expression and such cute outfits/hair, I always think she looks like a sassy 5 year old in a really tiny body :)

Reply

Yay! I love baby/kid updates. She is just too cute.

Love this! I can’t believe how big she has gotten. It’s been 19.5 months already!!? She is so adorable.

Love this!! I was just saying to my friend (who has a 15 month old), “This blogger that I follow has a little girl with SO much hair!” haha! :) Addie is going to be one of those kids that doesn’t have much hair until she’s like 3 or 4!

My 18 month old FINALLY says “Mama” (he called me Daddy until now!) and I love to see him shake his booty when a song comes on. He also says “Run” when we go downstairs to the basement where my treadmill is and even brings me my shoes! It’s so cute!

My nearly-4-year-old asks to hold my hand if I don’t immediately grab hers, as does my older daughter- almost 6. So you’ve probs got a while left.

What a little sweetheart. I’ve really enjoyed watching her grow up! That pouty lip-I would so give into her lol!

By age 16.5 they quit holding hands….but will ask “Can I use your purse tonight?”

By age 14.5 they help around the house (usually) only when asked and (sometimes) when there is a consequence attached if they don’t ….and an eye roll follows.

By age 10 they still love to cuddle and especially enjoy reading long chapter books together (my boy and I just finished Maze Runner! Very good btw)

(Just a snippet of my kiddos at the ages they are now…..but as we all know each child is unique and yours seems lovely. ;-)

This just makes my heart so happy! It’s insane how I feel like I “know” Brooke because I’ve been following since you found out you were pregnant and have been able to see her grow up on the blog and it’s just so cool! You can definitely see her personality in her sweet little expressions. Such a sweet girl! :)

You really have one of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen- she’s adorable! I also love all her cute little outfits.

She is beautiful and sounds very smart!

My son is 9 weeks old today. He is amazing and so loveable but doesn’t sleep more than two hours at a time! Any suggestions welcome :)

What I can tell you is that years from now you will look back at this and be so glad that you have documented all of these things because children grow and change so fast.
You will smile every time you re-read it and you will continue to thank God for blessing you with such a precious gift.

My twins are 2 1/2 and let me tell you…two 2 year olds is no joke! Having twins is as hard as it sounds but it is also as fun as it sounds. They are best of friends.
I have a 3 month old, too, and she is the BEST baby I’ve ever encountered. She’s a good baby but even more than that shes a happy baby and smiles from when she wakes up until she goes to bed. I love all 3 so much!
And I love Brooke updates!!

So cute!!! I love these little updates! It really seems like she is being her own little person very quickly! :)

That hair!!! Love it.
& Gabriella is the same with birds & ducks. You just say the word ‘duck’ and she runs to the door. Also, she takes my keys & runs to the door when she is ready to go. So funny! Fun seeing all of their stages.

I love that she helps around the house — even with the dish washer! My cat is almost 7 years old and he still doesn’t help around the house! :-)

Reply

I love watching her grow!

She is such a cutie! I was honestly just thinking today of asking you how you got her to sleep so well. I have twin 8 month old girls, and the naps can sometimes be a struggle. You obviously love being a mom, it shines through whenever you post a picture of the two of you together. I love the updates! :)

I am so jealous of Brooke’s sleep schedule. My daughter 17 months, is barely sleeping 8:00 pm to 6:30 pm and never naps for more than an hour. On weekends, when she’s with me, she’s started wanting to take her naps in the running stroller. Good for my training, but not a habit I really want to encourage.

Reply

This is mine and he is 22 mo. Never been agreat sleeper, goes to bed 8-6 ish and naps have only now increased to two hours, so it may still happen for you!

I love that my V still calls me momma, esp in his sleep, and he is almost 7.

My most recent funny from him was, “Momma, you know those speakers in your ears?”

Me all confused and said, “yes”.

“Well, when you are talking to me, sometimes they shut off.”

Gotta love honesty.

The other day Amelia acted just like Mom. She brushed Lilian’s hair to the side of her face, and said “Sweetheart, can you please listen to me? Can you please not play with my pillow” and Lilian said “Okay.” Cutest thing ever.
If it makes you feel any better Nae, Lilian is two and still holds my hand everywhere we go. And Amelia is three and she tries to hold my hand most of the time. It’s probably my favorite thing! Miss you.

OMG she is too adorable! How does she have so much hair?!?!? I swear I get baby fever everytime I visit your blog.

It goes by so fast. My older daughter is almost 10 and my baby turned 5 yesterday. Treasure every moment

My little one needs to learn about sleep from you! He is still waking several times a night : (

Love that she wants to naturally help around the house!

Great update! Your blog is awesome but what makes it even more awesome are Brooke pictures and updates! She steals the show every time!

Fun fact about my kiddo, she LOVES to sing and dance, like all. The.time. I joke that one day she’s going to be one of the out takes on American Idol and Simon Cowell is going to crush her dreams! (Unfortunately, she carries a tune like her mama!)

Reply

She’s absolutely gorgeous and seems so very funny, missy. :)

My brain isn’t functioning too well since he kept me up past midnight and all that would quiet his screams was more food… But I guess a fun fact is that he is starting to for real smile (instead of it being from passing gas). He’s almost 7 weeks old and my husband and I still stand there and say “how did we make such a beautiful baby?”.

She is one seriously adorable kid!!

My daughter just turned a year old on Tuesday, and keeps getting more and more fun and sweet and awesome. The newest thing I’m loving is when i am done nursing her and am patting her back to burp her, she’s started patting my arm, too. It is the cutest, sweetest thing. :)

I love Brooke’s pouty lip! That is so adorable!

Reply

My kids are the same way with my sister and I love it! Brooke’s age is so fun and you can definitely see her little personality shining through!

Reply

She’s just the sweetest! Such a fun age…makes me miss it! Take heart: my 9-yr. old daughter still calls me mama and still loves to hold my hand. I don’t ever want it to end, either, but I know I am on borrowed time.

such a little blessing :) <3

No more calling you Elmo?!? ;) Loved the update. She is so precious!

So jealous about all the sleep! My first was like that. My second, not so much. She wakes constantly, and her nap is an hour, tops. Almost the same age as Brooke, too.

I have loved watching Brooke grow up! She is just the sweetest:)

all that hair!! and that sweet sweet smile. she is so precious!

My little guy turns 18 months on Tuesday. He isn’t saying very many words, but loves making animal sounds. I gave him his first haircut the other day and now he kind of looks like Friar Tuck from Robin Hood. Oops!

Reply

My 16 month old just started kissing her stuffed animals. HOW DO THEY LEARN TO DO THESE CUTE THINGS WITHOUT YOU TELLING THEM?!?!? Melts my heart and I say ‘awww’ when she does it!

Reply

I miss that age :(

My two girls are 12 and 14 now. The 14 yro has been asking about driving my vehicle around an empty parking lot to practice and get ready for her permit…oh Lord…and will start high school in August!!! Rolls her eyes after every request and thinks taking off her headphones to do her homework is ridiculous. Ha!

My 12 yro is in a cuddling phase and I love it because when she’s not cuddling, she’s all about IG, picking out outfits, and dancing.

Enjoy this time but other readers are right…each phase is great and a new challenge for sure!

You might have the cutest little daughter I’ve ever seen!

I do believe she’s got the pouty lip down perfect. Never seen anything so precious. I can’t believe how fast she’s growing. My Sophia is age 7, loves her bff’s next door (what a blessing since she has no sisters). Is still obsessed with me (I wouldn’t have it any other way), and is still having a hard time since my mom passed last August. Saddest thing was at her Mom’s and Muffins program, they sang a song called ‘I Want a Mom to Last Forever’. She sang it and then came off the stage and sobbed in my chest saying she never wants me to die. She did the same thing a week before for 1 hour at home…didn’t realize there was a song behind it. So sad. Being a mom is the best gift ever though. Best job in the world!!

xo,
Jess
