50 easy miles and she is going to take over my blog.

I took all of my miles this last week easy and it felt really good.

And we have the world’s cutest dog living next door to us.  She comes over to the front glass door and waits there until I bring Brooke outside to play with her.

They both heard a bird.

Okay, just one more.

Curly asked me to take a picture of her with her new yellow/rhinestone flip flops for the blog as soon as she walked in the front door.  Her wish is my command.  She always asks me if she can take over this blog as soon as she can type a little better.

FINALLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY!!!! Fruit other than apples:)  I love this time of year.

DSC 0046

Two words:  BBQ weather.

Brooke did a great job helping my mom open presents.

What is your magic mileage number per week?  What mileage does your body feel the best at?

-Anywhere between 45-55… any higher than that and my body let’s me know that is too much.

Absolute ‘favorite/can’t get enough of’ fruit?

-Currently pineapple but that will transition into watermelon in a few months.

I am also in the 45-55 club, but I ran a lot more than that this week! Have a grape obsession lately…

my doggie baby is Isaac Newton! He came to us from the rescue with that name. I love it!

Two dogs, Slider (boy) and Stevie (girl). That dog with Brooke is precious!

Favorite fruit is raspberries or pineapple :)

We have a chocolate lab named Denise!

Your trails look perfect for running. I’m so jealous.

Usually my magic mileage is around 50 miles, but while I’m pregnant, I’ve knocked it down to about 30 per week and that feels pretty good.

The all time best fruits are definitely fresh pineapple and strawberries.

My dog is a black lab named Bungee.

Reply

I like 55-60-I like the accomplishment of hitting 60!! :) Anything more than that and i would be a crazy person!! :)

Watermelon!!!!! BUT for right now it is honeydew melon and canteloupe!! :)

You have your moms beautiful smile :)

30-40 miles for me. I’ve been doing more rowing and elliptical type miles than running lately. Now that the weather is warmer, I’ll get back to actual running.

The bird spotting picture is so sweet!

Raspberries and strawberries! Watermelon is a must in the summer. We all know it’s time when the big bins come out at Costco.

Reply

I love pineapple! And avocados. I could eat both all day every day. We had burgers last night too. This time if year is the best…I love eating and cooking outside!

Reply

I have a Chihuahua x called Malcolm. He’s done some easy runs with me up to 8km! I now limit him to 5km runs though. It is hilarious looking at Garmin Connect afterwards. You can see exactly where we have come across super exciting things like long grass and birds = time to sprint!

Reply

I didn’t realize Utah was so warm – we are still below freezing here in Maryland, definitely not BBQ weather here! And those mountains are so beautiful.

We had a dog up until a month ago when we gave him to a new home because our home wasn’t the best place for him anymore. His name is Dolce. My parents have two dogs and they are Mishka and Kuma.

And I have no idea what my magic running number is. I’d like to do about 30 miles a week but that hasn’t happened in years because I just don’t have the time. Now I try to run three times a week and that makes my body happy.

Reply

We have a Yorkie and his name is Otis.

Reply

My magic number has been between 65-75 lately. Though I’ve been at the much lower end of that since I’ve been racing more frequently. I’m hoping that more intense speed will help me more than junk miles (I’ve been taking 2 rest days lately).

I’m glad you are having productive weeks! That marathon won’t know what hit it!

Reply

Absolute favorite fruit ever is cantaloup… during the summer there is nothing better! But right now I am obsessed with red grapes! : )

Brooke and that dog are toooooo cute together!

Reply

Love the Brooke and doggie photos, can’t get cuter than that! (although I’m sure you’d find a way, haha)

Our dogs name is Bubby. He’s a bichon/shih tzu mix (teddy bear breed). We also call him Bubs, Bobo’s, and Bubba.

Right now I’m having some pretty bad nausea in my first trimester and all I can think about eating is fruit, specifically watermelon! Can’t get enough fruit smoothies either…so good!

Reply

Oh man, how I love that 16# chocolate Costco cake! It’s the best! Is it sad that I know exactly which cake that is?!…

We have 16 month old boxer who we adopted last fall. Her name is Stella. She met my 6 month old niece for the first time last week and had no idea what to think of a person that tiny.

Reply

Yeah, I usually do about 45-55, too, and don’t let myself go above that. This winter though I’ve only done about 40 per week, and I still ended up with injuries! I’m taking some time off now to hopefully make a full recovery before the racing season starts.

Favorite fruit? Probably berries–blueberries, raspberries, black raspberries and blackberries. :) I can’t wait for summer!!!!

Reply

I am currently obsessed with green grapes. I cannot get enough. I just recently started cutting them into Greek yogurt with vanilla. So good!!!

Reply

Blackberries are my absolute favorite. We have some wild blackberry bushes in our yard but the birds usually beat me to them. That or the large numbers of bees scare me off.

We have a Boston Terrier named Spenser. Bonus cool points always go to anyone who “gets it”.

Reply

Payton is our dogs name. She is part golden lab part golden retriever :). I pretty much LOVE all fruit!

Reply

My dogs name is Clancy! No idea why…he was a rescue when we got him, but it suits him. My magic mileage is around 35! I prefer to run fewer, but faster, miles with ample easy running when body feels like it. I LOVE watermelon and can’t wait for it to be the best season for it!!

Reply

My dog’s name is Josie and my favorite fruits is cherries (yum!). :)

Reply

Mango!!! Especially frozen. I love frozen fruit as a snack, even though all my friends think its SO weird !

Reply

That cake *drooling*

BBQ season is so far away for us – my BBQ is still buried in snow!

Reply

That picture of you on the trails is so amazing! And now since I’ve done one trail race (making me a pro obvs) I want to run all the pretty trails. Utah here I come.

Our family dog’s name is Gracey/Gracey-Lou/Gracey Lou Freebush. She’s a golden and I love her playful and tad-overweight self. My husband won’t let us get a dog till we have a house with a yard (we’re currently in a condo) so I have to go to my parents’ place to play with a pup. Dogs really do make great friends! Glad Brooke has one to play with next door :)

Reply

I LOVE strawberries!!!

If I had a dog, it’d be a yellow lab named Cali or Bailey :)

Reply

I am usually at 25 per week in the winter…I do not like cold weather! I would SO much rather run in the super hot summer than the cold!! I like it when I do 35 miles a week, that feels good, but for training I do 40-50 mile weeks, not much more. I also have a 40 hr work week, so it is hard to get them all in sometimes!

I LOVE PINEAPPLE. It is so good. I eat only pineapple pizza. In the fall however, I love apples from local orchards…Fuji apples are so wonderful.

No pets because I live in the city and I work at an aquarium, but my family has 3 dogs and 3 cats, and my boyfriends family has 3 wiener dogs!

Reply

If I can get btwn 30-40 miles in a week I’m golden. Unfortunately, the weather in the “great” Northeast has not been so great:( So if I can get out and run any distance… I’m THRILLED!

My current fav fruit is blackberries & raspberries…

Reply

Favorite fruits are blueberries, strawberries, or watermelon.

My dog is a JR mix and her name is Sadie.

I love the pictures of Brooke and the dog!

Reply

Cannot even handle the cuteness of brooke with the puppy!! Pics like that never get old!!

Reply

Favorite fruit right now is red pears. They’re getting harder and harder to find now but they are so so good. I have a dachshund/terrier/golden retriever/(the rest is anybody’s guess) mix named Marta. Sometimes I’m convinced she’s part kangaroo the way she jumps up and down when I come home :)

That picture of them both looking in the direction of the bird is too cute!

Reply

Awww love the pictures of Brooke and the cute little dog! My favorite fruits right now are apples and frozen blueberries, definitely no spring weather here in Chicago!

Reply

Looks kinda like my yorkie-poodle puppy! Her name is Bella :)

Reply

We have a 19lb Jack russel/Basset/Beagle mix named Hawkeye, and all the neighborhood kids know him by name. We even have a few kids that will stop in our yard to play with him.

Reply

You should take Curly up on the offer to help ;)

We have a cockapoo puppy named Loki. He’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

Favorite fruit – I’m loving melon right now (honey dew and cantaloupe)

Reply

I can’t get enough of strawberries, blackberries, and pineapple. I could eat them nonstop! I’m so excited that I can eat more than just bananas, oranges, and apples now. :)

We have two labs: Ryan and Molly.

Mmmm that chocolate cake!!! Love that thing. I’m always amazed at how incredibly HEAVY it is. It’s packed with the good stuff. ;)

Reply

I’m still coming back from an injury this week, so I was at about 18-20. I did about 7 miles at an 8 min pace which felt amazing!
I pretty much love all fruit except for guava.
My pups’ names are Sofie and Zipper – it used to be Button and Zipper, and now Zipper sounds kind of funny just by herself.

Reply

I ran a marathon in November and haven’t gotten my mileage up since! planning on starting again when I move to Colorado! I am a DOG lover! I have a german shepherd named Carlie!

Reply

Magic mileage for me is 25ish. My body hates peak training weeks when i’m closer to 40 or 50.

Obsessed with blackberries lately

My dog’s name is Duncan but I should have spelled it Dunkin because he is the color of my coffee (with cream =)

Reply

I like to be around 45-50 miles a week. Any more and I suffer from injuries….much like now :(

My favorite fruit is watermelon and I ate a whole one all by myself over the weekend! Go me!

My dogs are Hanklin Delano Nose-a-felt aka Hank and Boomerton G. Pinkerton aka Boomer. Hank is a mini dachshund and Boomer is a black lab. Obviously I am a huge dog lover!

Reply

My dog’s name is Zoe and she is CRAZY but I love her :)

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I am still trying to find the “happy mileage” for my body but I’m guessing its going to end up kind of like you between 45-55.

Reply

My dogs name is sparky!

Reply

Apples and black grapes always. Soon watermelon (with sea salt) will be in the mix.

We have a beagle/collie mix from the SPCA named Cooper. She’s really well-behaved, but sheds so much. Not good for someone with OCD.

45-60 is usually my happy mileage range. Anything more than that and I am toast, and likely injured.

I am happy to see that I am not the only person who gets angry on windy runs. I did my 1st 20 miler Saturday in 32 mph gusts…I went through a barrage of emotions. None of them were positive.

Reply

I hate windy runs. Hate….Been loving berries and pineapple and cantaloupe so far this spring season but I think I ate way too many pineapple slices yesterday as the thought of it is now making me nauseous lol. Can’t wait for the price of watermelon to drop so I can start buying it!

Reply

What a cutie! And that cake…oh my gooses…

I’m so good between 30-35 MPW. Marathon training gets really tough when I’m in the 45-50 MPW range. Strange. Fat rhyme!

I can’t get enough of bananas! I just <3 potassium!

Kayla is my Siberian Husky. She's the best gift God ever gave me. :D

Reply

Currently, I am slowly building up mileage each week to get to my comfort place, 45 to 50 miles a week. I used to range, 60 to 65 (pre baby) but found myself irritable and tired…not worth living life that way!

Our rescue dog didn’t have a name, so we named him Plato.

Reply

I’m getting back into training right now, so my mileage is between 15-20 miles per week. I don’t ever get too much higher than 25, though. Maybe I should push myself further!

Current favorite fruit: berries of all kinds! Low calories, high yum.

My family has a pug named Cornelius. We all call him Corky. He’s a cutie!

Reply

LOVING the picture of Brooke and the dog looking in the same direction! :) I love this time of year as well with the great fruit!

Reply

I don’t run much these days, but I ran 6 miles for the first time in FOREVER last week. It felt amazing!!! Brooke is way too adorable! My dog is a yorkie, and his name is Bentley ;)

Reply

I did 44 miles this week and my body is tired! It felt really good though. Excited for my first marathon in about 4 weeks!

Reply

I’m not going to answer any of your questions because that delicious looking cake is distracting me! OMG I want some!

Reply

Two dogs, King and Romeo. Your BBQ weather comment made me cry a little – it’s currently snowing here.

Reply

I’m still a beginner, so my miles are really low–about 10 a week. Which you can do in a day! Wow.

I love berries and peaches! Bring on summer!

Reply

Kiwi! I love kiwi!

I used to always train at 50 miles per week, but now I max out at about 35. This winter it’s been less because of the weather and cross training on my bike.

Reply

My dog’s name is Otis and I love raspberries and kiwis!

Reply

I am the crazy fruit lady! Kiwi, raspberries, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, basically anything I can get my hands on. I have been known to eat 4+ peaches & nectarines a day in the summer. #cantstopwontstop

I have a black lab, Duke.

Reply

I could probably eat my weight in cherries.

Reply

I feel good at 80 to 100km. That is about 50 – 65 miles. I think it’s a mental thing that tells me more than 100 is hard work. Currently loving Avos! We have 5 dogs: Spiral, Tokkie, Tiekie, Yorkie and Odi. The Tiekie and Tokkie is an Afrikaans translation for Tic-Toc. Our home language is Afrikaans.

Reply

That looks like one of the HUGE chocolate cakes from Costco (I don’t feel guilty if I am right). The icing is my favorite! Tropical fruits (mango, papaya, pineapple) are my favorites – probably because I associate them with sunshine and vacation.

Reply

I’m slowly building up my weekly mileage but I’m averaging 20 miles per week and for now that feels great to me. I’d like to get closer to 30 per week though. My favorite fruits are strawberries and bananas. Boring, but delicious :)

Reply

right now my happy mileage is between 25-35, but i’m hoping to increase that this year. Favorite fruit right now are Minneolas I got them from TJ’s and their a cross between oranges and grapefruit (i think), refreshing and slightly tart, so good!

Reply

Ooohh those strawberries look good!!! Strawberries are definitely my favorite fruit!

Reply

Oh your mom’s birthday cake is my favorite!
Define bbq weather for utah? Is it just when its not too cold and there is no snow on the ground?
My favorite fruits are nice cold apples and berries, not necessarily together.
I only did 8 miles of walking around disneyland last week. I did insanity for my cardio.

Reply

Between 40 and 45 miles is where I feel the best. Any more for a continuous period and my shins get super bruised and beat up – so weird!

Currently LOVING pears!

Reply

Nice job on the miles. I’m still figuring out the number. Usually I just go with whatever I’m feeling on a day-to-day basis. I feel really good when I’ve done 40-45 per week, but I definitely think my body would be happy with 50 :-)

I don’t have a dog right now, but as soon as I get a new apt., that is one of the first things on my list! I will definitely adopt the doggie but I suppose I won’t know his name until I meet him…

Reply

I have a boxer named Rosey. Her favorite fruit is apples as evidenced by the fact I came home last night and she ate two of my apples that were on the kitchen counter.

Reply

I don’t know my secret mileage yet, probably around 30. I love all fruit and luckily rotate me cravings. I just came off wanting a crisp apple every day to some strawberries. Yummy.
My dogs name is Ted. He’s big and soft and so loving. We had a dog, Zoe that was a Boston Terrier. She died on the 11th. She was with me and my kids for 13 years. It was devastating, but the love we had from her for 13 years was totally worth it. It was so sweet looking at pictures of my kids when they were little holding her and then when they were adults. Brooke will need a dog someday. Animals teach so much about love and compassion. Kids have a trusted friend.
That little dog is so dang cute!

Reply

Nice job on the miles and the pace. I usually average 10 miles 2 times a week. I don’t have time when I’m working to do more then a longer one if the weekend 13-15 usually. My favorite fruit is strawberries. I never get sick of it. OMG the pics of Brooke and the dog are way too cute!

Reply

I feel best anytime my mileage is higher than it was last week. :) I’m still coming off an injury, so I’ll take anything I can get!

Pineapple. Definitely my favorite fruit. Closely followed my oranges and strawberries.

We have a cockapoo named Maisey!

Reply

Our mini dachshund is named Rudy…for his reddish brown color BUT, he is called every thing from “good boy”, Rudy tutti fruitti”, “Rudy to toot tooty?”, I guess pretty much any thing that rhymes or that we feel rhymes. ha!

Reply

I run 20-25 miles per week: generally 3 days per week are 5 milers and 2 days per week are 3-4 milers (work on hills and pace). Got hit with posterior shin splints last week and had to take a couple of days off. Got out the kinesio tape and taped up for a light run on Friday with no pain.
For now, that is all I can fit in since my schedule is super busy: studying (bar exam), teaching martial arts, kids in school so there is homework to check and help with, kids activities…dance, karate, youth and government, Boy Scouts, track, chorus, karate demo team. Somewhere in there I make dinner and try to keep the house clean.
Favorite fruit: strawberries

Reply

I loooove apples. Breakfast, pre-run, post-run, snack, anytime. I try to be more interesting sometimes, but still end up reaching for a cold crispy apple.

My puppy’s name is Penelope. Last night, some kids from the building played with her. It made her so happy and wore her out, which was AWESOME. When she can hear them, she goes to the door and whimpers. I bet your neighbour loves it when you and B visit!

Reply

Omg I can’t even handle how good that cake looks. I’d be more than happy to help out with that as well :D And I’m literally counting down the days until watermelon season hits and I can enjoy eating half a melon at a time. As for my pooch, she’s some kind of mixie and her name is Kaiah.

Happy Monday, Janae!

Reply

25-30 is about my magic number when I’m training for a race. I’ve never ventured higher than that… yet :)

Bananas. They have to be perfect though, no brown spots, just a lil’ bit of green left, and once I peel it I smell it… if it smells good I eat it. Crazy, I know. :)

We don’t have a dog… but I’m dreaming of a day I can bring home an Australian shepherd/ Australian cattle dog mix to run with and call him/her Shadowfax. Nerd moment. :)

Reply

15-20 miles is my magic number. I’m more of a part time runner and this weekly mileage is just the perfect amount for me. I can never get enough of bananas, year round!

Reply

About 30 miles. I am pumped because an Athleta is about to open near me.

I love berries of all kinds! And melon is #1!!!

I wish I had a dog–I would have a giant 120-150 lb. Mastiff or Bermese Mountain dog.

Reply

My dog’s name is Kye Dog. He’s awesome. 106 lb. Yellow Lab! I love him! He’s 7.

I’m so excited about the warmer weather that is supposedly coming! Outside all the time! Can’t wait.

Aw what a cute little pup neighbor! We had a dog growing up, a little Maltese that was around until she was 16!

Reply

I would say 30 miles is really where I feel best.

I am really obsessed with any fruit. lol. I love bananas and/or apples with SunButter of Almond butter and coconut. Today I’ve already had one banana w/sunbutter, an apple and a plum.

I’m snacking on some banana chips right now and those are AWESOME.

I really should have a salad for dinner. haha.

Reply

Im so excited that strawberries are back! I usually run between 20 and 25 miles a week but Im trying to slowly increase that.

Non marathon training 30-35. This week will be a peak of 46 for me with marathon training.
Favorite fruit is watermelon.
I have a chocolate lab, named Jameson.

i’ve been obsessed with cantaloupe and blackberries lately. SO good! i pretty much love all fruit, though.

i have 2 dogs – a dachshund named ashton & a lab/terrier puppy named archie. <3 brooke is welcome to come play with them anytime!!

Reply

60-65 is my magic number. Enough miles to feel strong and efficient without being tired all the time. From a fitness standpoint, though, probably 80. I’ve never gone above 80, but I think I would need to be better about sleeping, stretching, massage, etc. to tolerate >80 without injury.

I love peaches and mangos. So excited for summer! My dog is a chocolate lab named Monster, but he is a total sweetheart.

Reply

Great job! I’m running around 20 (give or take) right now in my training. Great job this week!! :)

Reply

I feel ya with the fresh fruit! I have recently started getting boutiful baskets and am loving the variety. I usually just grab oranges and apples, but now I am getting baskets of strawberries, pineapple, and pears!

Reply

45 miles a week is when I feel the best. 50 is usually where I start to feel pretty rough and an injury starts to nag of some sort. Although, once in a while I do run 55 or so.

Reply

I’m not home enough to have a dog at this point in my life, but my parents live nearby and have two shelties named Sammy and Kelly :)

What an adorable little dog. We don’t have one because of the allergies my little one has.

My goal is to run between 20 – 30 miles a week

Reply

I feel best at 40-45 miles a week. When I was running 60-75, my IT Band was so mad that I could barely walk for week! Now, I’m still fighting my IT Band (and possible labral tear) and doing 25-30.

I love pineapple and blueberries together. And honey crisp apples in the fall. Yum!

No dogs, just two cats. Love the pics of Brooke and the dog!

Reply

I try to average 30 miles per week but it really ends up being around 25 usually unless I have a race coming up.

We have 3 dogs, Cooper who is a chocolate lab, Remington the beagle and Zola a chesapeake bay retriever.

My dogs names are Maverick and Goose…yes from Top Gun. I think they are the cutest dogs in the whole wide world. :)
I’m trying to up my mileage right now, but this working full time thing makes it hard. And it also makes it hard being a stay at home puppy mum :(

Reply

happy place milage – right with you. Last week it was 52 and that felt great. Slept like a dog, but still had enough for my workouts. What kind of salad dressing is that? It looks delicious. I’ve been hunting for a cilantro salad dressing, and that looks like it may do the trick!
Favorite fruit- nectarines! Such an under-appreciated fruit, but a juicy nectarine on a hot day? Can’t get any better. They also go great in a blueberry pie – just cut one up small and mix it in, so good!!!

Reply

I’m a lightweight and feel best between 25-35 miles per week. Full marathon training just about killed me…I felt like I did when I was pregnant, tired and hungry all the time :)

I pretty much love all fruit but I could live on mango alone….so delicious!

Reply

Favorite go-to fruit is probably apples. I love most fruit, but apples are available year-round. I’ve been known to eat an apple with lunch, followed immediately by apple-chips.

My chocolate lab’s name is Sienna…after the crayon color Sienna Brown. We’re cool like that.

Reply

Right now 30-35 is feeling great to balance life and all that goes with it. Going to be upping the intensity (longer tempos and some intervals because I am 7 weeks out from a goal race) and seeing how I handle that!
Fruit of the moment is Bosc pears.
My furry running buddy is an Australian Shepherd named Carmen. She is built up to doing about a 14 mile easy long run after 6 years of running with me. I don’t know who loves it more, her or me!

Pears and apples in the winter, then strawberries, watermelon and cantaloupe in the summer!

Our dog’s name is Lucy. She is the best. So full of love and happiness – and always in bed by 9:30pm :o)

I have two pooches….Roscoe who is 5 and Kayle who is 11. They are both yellow lab mixes. Roscoe weighs over 100lbs! He is a hoss. Both are rescues and I love them so.

I love fruit! Peaches, cantaloupe and raspberries are my fave, but I really love them all.

My ideal mileage number is 35-40. I am cutting back for awhile though.

Reply

Berries are the best fruit. And nectarines. And apricots. Ok I just like good fruit!

Anything over 20 miles starts to feel like a lot right now, but I’m building my mileage up!

I have a Boxer/pitbull/mutt named Buddy. He’s adorable and likes to come running with me.

My Mini schnauzers name is Zoe :)

I like Fuji apples. But I like more veggies than fruits.

For the past few years I have ran about 35-40 miles per week and couldn’t really handle more than that. Recently I have slowly built up to 60 miles/week while also really focusing on strength/core and nutrition. At this point I don’t think i could really handle more than that but luckily it is time for me to taper! I guess I will rethink mileage the next time I train for a marathon.

I’ve been slacking in the running department. It’s been so dang cold/ windy/snowy/Icy that I’ve only been running on the treadmill which bores me :(.
Love that u guys have BBQ weather out there. Jealous that we don’t. We are expecting snow tomorrow and the next day.

I’m good with 40. :)
I’ve been eating a lot of oranges lately! I love citrus fruit in the winter, and Wisconsin has definitely had a long one. It’s snowing outside right now- I’m thinking of putting on Christmas music and baking Christmas cookies for my husband. What a joke! :)
We have a Jack Russell terrier named Abbie. She was a rescue, and we adore her. She can run a 4:00 mile! We’ve been working for two years on getting her to run closer to our pace, but if given the opportunity, she’s so much faster. She’s a great reminder to stretch- she does it all the time. 21 pounds of solid muscle. :)

Two dogs -13 year old Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix (with the sweetest disposition and most heart melting eyes ever who smiles at me when I come home), named Baxter and a new Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix puppy (who’s rotten but so. stinking. cute. he gets away with everything) named Brinx. ;)

We have a Lab and a McNab (both rescue dogs so we’re just going off of looks when we claim the breed): Ally and Oakley.

I feel good when I get in 25-35 miles a week. I typically run 4 days a week. More than that and certain parts of my body start screaming.

I’d have to say pineapple is one of my favorites too. (Especially when someone else does the work to cut it up for me). For ease (and because they go well with peanut butter) my year-round favorite is apples.

Hi Janea! And Happy Birthday to your mom! Brooke needs a puppy. I know you know this. I am impressed with how long you have held out! Ha! Just kidding. I’m sure you have a perfectly good reason for waiting!
Since coming back from a stress fracture in my knee, my weekly mileage has been averaging 20-25 mpw. This is increasing slightly, as I am in training for the OKC Memorial 1/2, but Lord help I don’t want to get injured again! And hopefully after the 1/2, our weather will be much warmer and I can get out and run when I want. I do a lot of extras like boot camps, pump, and yoga.
Being almost 50 means you have to double up exercise, just to keep what you have! Ugh!
I have a running buddy, Otis, he’s my black lab and he’s 65 pounds of awesomeness! Runs right by my left leg, no leash. And then a super sweet King Charles / cocker mix, Oliver.
I am counting the days until Bing Cherries come into season. I will live on those everyday! Until then, it’s grapes and Halos!

I have a 3 year old papillon named Quinn Fabray Roberts. Yes, I named her after a character on Glee. My next dog will be Katniss Everdeen Roberts….

It’s nice to see a faster runner admit that higher mileage isn’t for everyone. The miles you run are great, and you have learned what your ‘breaking’ point is. That is smart if you ask me. I hate when I see people posting 70-100 mile weeks (good for you!) but are injured and won’t reduce mileage. If you can sustain the miles and stay healthy then great, but I don’t think that is for everyone. I typically float between 35-50 and peak maybe in 50-60 range but my body doesn’t like more than that.
