Friday in pictures!

My Friday without any words because I am putting this post together when I am supposed to be waking up in less than 6 hours to run 13 miles with 5 tempo miles at half marathon pace.   I really need to learn to get in bed earlier but I just can’t get myself to do it…

My plans are to go to the park with our girl while her Dad has a conference call, plant more basil and onion seeds, write, and organize.

Winds willing, today’s run will be on the beach. Probably with lots of laughter.

Happy Saturday to all!

I need that waffle!! Off I bootcamp this morning!

That waffle looks divine. Good luck on your run! No big plans today, just hanging out as a family! I would be sleeping right now but apparently it’s party time for the baby. She’s kicking me so much I can’t sleep haha. Enjoy your Saturday!

Lucky for me I shut my eyes and sleep anytime / anywhere. Unless my 1 year old is awake…

10miler done this morning at slow pace. Love an easy weekend run.

Have a good weekend!

It’s so cool that you go back to BYU for their sporting events! If I lived closer to VT I’d go to a lot rather than just football games. Fun times!

Reply

My plans for the day are run, relax, clean my disaster of a house and stay warm. I miss summer :(

Your nephew cracks me up!

Today I am working. Tonight I am going to dinner with a friend at my favorite Mexican restaurant.

I got 7.5 hours of sleep last night because I decided to sleep an hour longer instead of straightening my hair this morning.. Priorities.

I’m not sure if my run will happen today. It will depend on how late I have to work and if I have time before I go out.

Reply

The little man is teething so not much sleep last night. Trying to find the motivation to get to the gym and get a run in…

Reply

I got 8 hrs last night-sleep is REALLY important to me. Today I ran 3.5 easy and will do yin yoga later. Afternoon massage. Let us know how your run goes. ENJOY :-)

I NEED some waffle love! I’ve never been but yours always looks so good.
My baby slept for 4 hrs, woke up to eat and slept another 3. So I got 7 total!
No running for me but I can’t wait to hear how yours goes!

Oh my word! That waffle looks amazing! I want one of those right now! :)

Staying on the couch all day (after my treadmill run in the basement) because it’s snowing like crazy. 5 ish miles today!

Reply

Looks like a fun day with great eats, as usual! I’m eating cereal and then it’s off to get in a 6 mile run and Body Pump. Have a great one!

Reply

7 hours of sleep, which is pretty much the norm for me. Sometimes 8, but hardly ever less than 7.

I’m excited to get 5 very hilly miles in this morning. It’s a killer run with amazing views of Puget Sound which makes the hills so worth it! After that hopefully we will finish up the last of the master bath remodel…it has been out of commission for two years now. So ready to be done!

Going to squeeze in as much park/outside time with the tot as possible since it’s a sunny and warm for this time of year weekend in the PNW!

Reply

With -4 degree windchill, it’s the treadmill for me today! Planning 3-4 miles, then heading to the gym for Group Core class. I got lots of sleep because this week left me soooo tired!

Reply

Cute! I love that you are always with your family. It reminds me of my family, we are always together doing things :)
I just bought a FitBit and it told me that I got 9 hours of sleep (gasp!). That is amazing.
My plans today are as follows : coffee -yoga- green smoothie…that’s all I’ve got so far :)

Hope you have a great run! Happy Saturday

Pics say a thousand words, so you are good!! I went to bed at 9 last night…such a party animal, but it was a good thing. Up at 5 with my littlest nugget! Hopefully 11 miles today.

Have a great run and then take a great nap!

Reply

Bundling up for 3 or 4 easy miles in the super cold today. Hoping to get a treadmill this weekend – I’m really excited!

I got about 8 hours of sleep last night, a nice recovery from the work week.

Reply

I have an 8 mile run this morning which is long for me so I am excited. Then probably relaxing and trying to stay as warm as possible – its freezing and snowing here!

Brooke is just too adorable! i can’t believe how much hair she has!

What are your plans today? I’m visiting my husbands home in Australia and today is Australia day – bbq party!

How much sleep did you get last night? a good 7 hours. I have bad insomnia and I’ve been trying melatonin -it’s working great!

What are you running today?Today is actually my rest day. and I know I should take it but if I can sneak in an easy 3 miler I might…

Reply

9 miles today, and I’m probably going to be a wimp about the cold and do it on the treadmill. That would be my longest run ever to be done on a treadmill so we’ll see how that goes……

Reply

Just ran 12 on the treadmill! I am getting good at this whole treadmill thing. Showered and back in pajamas – no better feeling.

Reply

Oh. My. Gosh! 12 on the ‘mill?! You need a trophy. I did 10 last weekend and before that, about 5 or 6 was my max. 10 wasn’t too too bad because I listened to an audiobook, but last night I tried to do 8 and by 2 I was bored outta my mind and stopped at 5! You rock that ‘mill! But on the real, I really am thankful someone invented treadmills, because I’m not as “hard core” running in the freezing cold as I wanted to be! haha

Reply

Janae ran a marathon on the mill!

Reply

Omg how did I not know THAT?! Must’ve been before I discovered her blog and I haven’t gotten through reading all the archives…My gosh. Those kinds of miles on ‘mill seriously deserve a medal. A trophy. A golden globe. SOMETHING.

I think our next girls date needs to include Waffle Love. And we still need to do a girls night. :)

Reply

I made homemade waffles for breakfast this morning. So good.
I usually have to try and get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Last night I got only got 6, but I don’t have too much on my schedule for today.
I have some painting in my house to do today.

Reply

I love this post so much. I’m dying over a) Curly’s cute bun!!! b) the gum gift c) how omgadorable Brooke is! d) how happy you look :)

Reply

Dang it, can’t forget the waffles! e) waffles!!!!

Reply

No running for me today, between injury, inches of snow on the east coast, and the fact that it has only warmed up to 20F, the elliptical will definitely be getting a work-out today.

Reply

I love waffles. That looks divine.

I slept about 7.5 hrs. Minus being woken up by a child 2x.

Maybe run 5 miles. Bokwa class is today. So I might do that instead.

Reply

Looks like a fun day! I got a glorious nine hours of sleep (woke up around 4am for a bit, but fell back asleep). Today, I plan on spending 60 minutes on the treadmill. Not sure if I’ll do some intervals, but probably will to break up the boredom! This afternoon I am babysitting my five month old niece. Can’t wait. Happy Saturday!

Reply

Just waiting for the sun to come up so I can head out for a run :) A day off today meant I slept in and got over NINE hours of sleep! Have a great run!

Reply

Running + Drinking coffee + blogging are my plans today! :) I sleep 9-10 hours a night. And, I have two recovery runs today: 8 miles a.m., 4 miles p.m. :)

Loading the moving truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moving from Iowa to Maryland!!!!! Can’t run…no time! This moving is killing my running!…and blogging! I can’t wait to just be settled!

you really are so beautiful. work it girl

How could your run not be awesome when it will be fueled with Waffle Luv? And now I will be craving a roasted veggie & steak salad from MWB and a waffle. Thanks! Though I loved my salad from lunch so much I wanted another for dinner. I tried to convince ross to take me back, but he didn’t go for it. Boooo.

5 miles and yoga is the plan for me today. I got about 7hrs of sleep. Once i woke up to pee the kids were up so I guess that means I was up for good. I need to stop staying up so late too. It makes my afternoon slump that much more difficult.

Hope your run was great and you enjoy your Saturday. The picture of Brooke is adorable, as always.

Reply

What kind of salad is that?!?

Reply

Janae, I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Reply

Ugh, now I want a waffle because of that last pic!!!!

Reply

I have lots of work today.
I think I slept about 8 broken hours last night.
No run today. Leg still injured so p90x kenpo today.

So happy to see Brooke feeling better. I love it when a long nap seems to cure whatever bug they have.

Reply

I’m with ya on going to bed. I just can’t! Pinterest is too addicting! I had a running group that met at 8 today and I wasn’t planning on going since I went to bed after midnight and need at least 8 hours of sleep. But for some reason I woke up super early and went? We did about 6 miles in the COLD!

Reply

Love the pictures! I got a ton of sleep last night after a much needed girls night out.
I hope to run about 5 miles today. I had taken some time off, and I am starting back with goals to meet!
Glad your baby girl is feeling better. We just had bouts of the stomach bug make it’s way through our house. Have an awesome day!

Reply

It has been so cold. Zero degrees and still running outdoors, but it has been difficult to get in a long run. 4 miles has been the max at the zero degrees temp. Lots of layers and I look for areas with no snow, like running in an elderly/assisted living community. Running in the snow is fun up to a point. Be safe everyone

Reply

this post just reminded me that i really want a waffle maker… it’s officially going on my birthday wishlist :)

hope you & brooke have a fun weekend!

Reply

Lots of running around to do today, weekends go by way too fast!

Only got five hours of sleep, stayed up too late watching movies lol

Hoping to run three miles today, feeling pretty lazy today.

Love your hair, girl!! I need to spruce mine up and curl it again soon. Might make me feel better about sitting in pajamas all day! hahahah

Wowee – good luck on your run! How did it go??

I picked up my new Brooks today. I got Pure Cadence 3 – I can’t wait to try them out!! I’ve never had Brooks before, usually I’m an Asics girl.

Reply

Well, I was supposed to be leaving for yoga at the gym, but since this stupid snow storm started, the Hus said I’m not allowed to drive anywhere :( Boo for husbands that make you stay home in bad weather! And I have been looking forward to this class for 2 weeks, because it’s new and is being taught by my fave instructor! Hopefully they clear the roads by tomorrow, because he is subbing the yoga class tomorrow! I ran 5 boring TM miles last night though at least! Wanted to do 8, but I was SOOOOO bored that I just stopped short of having a 5k left to do…As far as sleep – I am a night owl all the way! BUT I like to get up early too! It can’t be good for my body in the long run, but when I try to go to bed earlier, I just lay there wide awake for hours…I don’t think I need the 8 hours of sleep a night though like they say you need. P.S. don’t ever stop putting headbands on Brooke – they are seriously the cutest thing ever!

Reply

I really need that hat. As in there is no other hat I need more then that hat.

I’m glad you had a good time. UGH seeing those swimming photos…geez, I am doing absolutely nothing exciting this weekend but relaxing and staying indoors. I secretly hope my 5k gets cancelled because it’s supposed to snow. So if that doesn’t I’ll do that. ha ha.

Reply

I’ll be running an easy eight miles today. And I got an awesome 9 hours of sleep last night! As far as plans, I’ll be having an early birthday lunch with family and an early birthday dinner bash with friends.
Have a wonderful Saturday :)

I love Brooke in a headband!

GUM! Did you like it?!

And I thought you had olives in your salad at first and squealed a little. Then, I realized they were black beans. Close call.

Plans to run 7 miles today. Watch my son play his basketball game and hang with my hubs and kids. Sleep was good cause I slept in but stayed up late and went with another mom to see Gravity. Sandra Bullock is such an amazing actress! Watched in 3D on edge of my seat! Our theater plays movies that have been out a while and I’m so glad!

Reply

I ran 11 miles today in the snow. That was a serious workout! My plans for the rest of the day are to rest…and eat! Everyone always laughs at how early I go to bed. Without 8 hours, no one wants to deal with me!

Reply

I’m running 5-6 miles today. I haven’t ran more than 3 in the past week so I’m hoping I don’t die. Ha! ;)

Reply

I am supposed to run 10 miles today but am still sitting on the sofa drinking coffee in my PJs… so maybe this will happen eventually? <– This is because I got about 10 hours of sleep last night and am enjoying my well rested bliss, as it is such a rarity.

Looks like a great Friday!! :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!! :)

I don’t seem to have any trouble going to sleep early. I can’t sleep late so if I want to get enough sleep I know I need to get to bed early. This morning I ran 15 miles with 8 at marathon pace. It felt good but it was COLD and WINDY! I was also dodging patches of ice most of the time.

Reply

I got a ridiculous amount of sleep last night, and woke up at 11:00 this morning. I guess I needed it, but it’s really screwing with my schedule. Time to go run now!

Reply

I’m riding my bike today, as far as I can go! :) I got a nice 8 hours of sleep- yay. Today, we are going stroller test-driving! haha that’s what we’ve been calling it, anyway, we’re just shopping for a stroller, basically. And I’m exciiiited!

xo

I have to get 8 hours of sleep, usually in bed by 10pm! Worked on taxes this morning. Waiting for wind to go down before I run, 10 degrees today, ugh!

Reply

so far my day has been enjoyable- got a 2 mile run in and a spin class at the gym. Went to my favorite store- Costco and ate delicious samples while getting all our organic produce for the week. And now- doing a few DIY projects around the house. Later I have a girls church event which is always fun to catch up with friends over pizza.

love your blog- been reading for years now. you have such a positive outlook on life, I love it!

Reply

I got just about 11 hours of sleep last night! (what?!) Looks like school is wearing me out a little more than I thought. ;) I did a I-lost-all-running-fitness-trying-to-get-it-back run this morning. Run 30 minutes, walk 1 for 20ish minutes. Happy Saturday!

Reply

I just can’t get over how cute Brooke is! Looks like you had a lot of fun with your family :) Today my hubby is getting home from a research trip and we are going to visit our friends and their new baby! I’m so excited!! As for sleep, I am pregnant so I don’t really sleep much haha. I am super thankful for the sleep that I did get though :)

Ah, BYU. I miss that place.

Looks like an adventurous day!

I haven’t bed sleeping well lately so prob 5 hours. My plans for today include writing a screenplay for the film that will be a documentary of my surgery and rehab. It will LOOK like a Hollywood blockbuster but will actually be REAL. Still deciding which actor will get to be the surgeon. He must be a quick learner and not squeamish. No running yet…give me about 10 months :)

Reply

Slept in this morning. Went running at 5:30 instead of 5am. Got in 12 miles. Totally didn’t get enough sleep last night. Woke up at 12:45 to let my old dog out, counted the hours until my alarm going to go off and was not happy. Not enough sleep for sure. As soon as these three little kids of mine go to bed, I am going to bed. Need more sleep tonight and will be happy to sleep later tomorrow.

Reply

Love that pink headband on Brooke! I ran 8 today, last long run before RnR Nola next weekend!

Reply

Got about 4 hours sleep last night! :/ Had to get up super early to drive to Cape Cod for a 50K this morning!

Reply

8 hours sleep last night (woohoo!), 8km this morning (did I just read someone did 50KM this morning!?!), not much planned- a little cleaning and reading for a course I’m doing. Janae, I had my first Froyo this weekend, inspired and dedicated to you! Sounds like an intense workout you have planned.

Reply

Those half marathon pace miles in the middle of a longer run are so good. And sooo bad. I love them. Fun to see your pics.

How do you get Brooke to sit still long enough to get her hair into a ponytail?!

Also, good news of the day… Tes slept 13 hours last night and I was only up with her once!! There is hope!

Reply

Looks like a jam-packed Friday!

I ended up sleeping for almost 11 hours last night and almost sleeping through church…whoops. I did manage to wake up 20 minutes before and speed dress and get there on time.
