I did my first double digit run in a very long time yesterday and it went pretty well. My stomach felt a little weird from the very start of the run but other than it was pretty uneventful and I finished the 10 miles with a 7:11 average pace. I started at about a 7:40 pace and worked down to a 6:45 pace. Progression runs are my very favorite because it allows my legs plenty of time to really wake up
I came home stretched, did core work, 8 minute arms, ate and by the time I was done with that everyone was still asleep so I did the right thing and also went back to bed.
Every long run should be followed by going back to bed. Actually every run should be followed by that.
Billy’s good friends had never been to Santa Cruz before so we decided we would be the ones to introduce them to this great city. We parked in one place and just walked all over the place to check everything out.
It was quite crowded.
And like always I really wanted to try the deep fried Oreo. One of these days I will spend $5 to eat an Oreo.
Restaurants that have toys for kids to play with are officially my new favorite.
We went for Surfrider Cafe for a late lunch/early dinner. I have a thing for buffalo chicken sandwiches with coleslaw on them. See that mountain of cheese in the back? That was the amazing parmesan garlic fries.
I have to show you my cousin’s salmon tacos because they came with avocado fries (fried slices of avocado, they looked amazing) in them.
Marianne’s has become the new Yogurtland for me. I find something I like and go there until I find a new place that I love going to.
Me and the Billster (he got in a run yesterday too! He only ever has time on Saturday’s to run now that his internship and studying for the patent bar has taken over his life. He definitely misses running…remember when he ran a 1:27 for his 3rd half marathon ever?)
And the best part of Marianne’s is the stylin’ wallpaper. I had a scoop of the heath bar and the brownie/caramel/fudge/oreo one.
Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!
