Let’s talk about sports bras!

A few weeks ago I went and talked to a group of teenage girls about running.  One of the things that I went over with them was running equipment.  I made sure to tell them the two most important pieces of running equipment that we NEED for running is a good pair of shoes (go to a running store to have them analyze your running and feet to find the best pair of shoes for YOU) and sports bras.

(PS this isn’t a sponsored post or something like that, I am just sharing with you my favorite sports bras that I have found)

What I care about when it comes to sports bras:

1.  Comfort.

2.  Support.

3.  It doesn’t chafe me.

4.  Nothing else.

I don’t really care about what they look like because I always have a tank on over them but I do care (to the extreme) whether or not they are comfortable because there isn’t much worse than a sports bra that cuts in to you funny, doesn’t fit right or leaves you a chafed mess.  PS I don’t miss the days when I was pregnant and having to wear at least two sports bras at a time to run.

My top 3 in order:

1.  My Moving Comfort Phoebe Bra:  I have had this one for years and I have washed it probably a trillion times and it is still my most favorite and most comfortable sports bra.  I really should buy 10 more because I always choose to wear this one first after I do a load of laundry because it is my favorite.  I could live in it and be happy.

2.  Brooks Epiphany Bra II:  I like this one especially for hot runs because it seems to keep me the coolest and it is the most breathable.  Like the other ones it is comfortable and I have yet to chafe from it.

3.  Asics Adjust bra:  It is adjustable so you can make it perfect for your body, extremely comfortable and it has molded cups in the bra.

And the best AFFORDABLE sports bra award goes to the Champions sports bras at Target.  Super comfortable and a crazy good deal.  And they are super cute if that is important to you.

This morning I had an easy run of 6.5 miles at a 7:48 pace.

Came home and celebrated that it was Tuesday with Brooke by making pancakes.  My pancakes always turn out really yellow because I add extra eggs to the batter so that I am not hungry 3 seconds after eating them.

We are making sippy cup progress and Brooke is clapping because she really liked bfast.  Apparently she needed three spoons.

DSC 5070

After breakfast she had a bath and then I started stretching (and ended up just laying on the ground) and Brooke came over and put her head on the pillow and started drinking from my water. (Don’t mind my mascara raccoon eyes and hair horns)

Photo

Lunch was a salad with leftover chicken from last night and guacamole as the dressing.  It is always a good idea to use guacamole as your salad dressing.   Oh and some cranberry mini muffins.

Tell me what sports bras you run in and which ones are your favorite…least favorite?

Where do you get most of your running or workout gear?

Do you chafe?  What do you do to help prevent it?

What was your lunch today?  Anyone else have a salad?

I always run in Champion sports bras but I have had issues with them chaffing right in front. .. so I might have to look for another brand to try out! Lunch today was honey nut toasty O’s eaten quickly at my desk because I was behind on my work!!

Reply

I had to give up on Champion bras because they started chafing me in the front too!

Reply

My sports bras are the Nike ones I got for free in college haha. I’m too cheap to break down and buy new ones! The target ones are pretty good though and not that expensive. Lunch was a cheese panini, a peach, and some chocolates :-)

Reply

I get mine at Old Navy! They are very supportive and inexpensive! I love the ones with the racerback straps!

Reply

I love this post! I pretty much only have the champion brand sports bras from Sports Authority or Target because I’ve never bothered to look elsewhere. I think I’m going to set myself a fitness goal and if I achieve it I’m going to treat myself to one of these moving comfort bras people are always raving about. Oh wait, I just saw how inexpensive the one you linked to is…maybe I’ll just buy it:)

Reply

I love target sports bras. They are so comfortable and I personally don’t need a ton of support- plus they’re cheap! And colorful for when they peek out under a tank. Which means I can wear them for non-running purposes too!

Reply

I love Old Navy sports bras! They hold everything tight in place and are so comfortable! They also come in fun colors. Everything else is a sort of random purchase kind of thing. I love my compression shorts from Sports Authority. My running shorts are from random stores. I chafe on my thighs. Compression shorts seem to help me a TON! Thanks thunder thighs. My lunch today was half of a wrap with spinach, tomato, red onion, green pepper, and mustard with carrots and guacamole on the side. I had a taco salad for dinner last night that was amazing :)

Reply

I have two Champion sports bras that I really like. They’re comfy and keep things where they’re supposed to stay!

Reply

I have had some chafing issues. Related to the sports bra issue is sometimes I chafe right under my boobage. Another area is on my back where my pants/shorts hit. I have several lovely scars from when I first started running longer distances and was trying to figure out what the heck I was doing. So far vaseline has done the trick for me. I also only run in spandexy type shorts. I know I couldn’t do a running short style without some serious chafing.

Do you (or your readers) have recommendations for larger-cup running bras (size D)?

Reply

Moving Comfort Juno Bra!

Reply

Shock Absorbers! I’ve never had chafing and I’ve never had to double up. Well worth the big bucks!

Reply

The Moving Comfort Maia is great too if you want the underwire. I’ve been wearing it for years (i’m an E) and haven’t had any chafing issues.

Reply

I love the cw-x versatx or the under armour Armour bra. Both are super comfortable and supportive (I loathe any bounce even though I had breast reduction surgery and don’t need the D cups anymore)

Reply

I second the recommendation for the Moving Comfort Juno bra. It’s the best one I have tried for serious support and major comfort.

Love your blog, Janae!

Reply

Enell. Not pretty but does the job!

Reply

Im also a huge fan of the Juno. Just make sure you hook allllll the hooks. That’s the only time I’ve had a problem with it and that was a user error

Reply

Agree with moving comfort bras. Caitlin at Healthy Tipping Point has done a few posts on sports bras. Her suggestions and all of comments in the posts have been helpful to me when researching new sports bras

http://www.healthytippingpoint.com/category/sports-bras

Reply

Moving Comfort Fiona Bra. I’m a D cup also, and have found this bra to be the most comfortable and supportive.

Reply

Whatever you do, buy a sports bra that comes in your bra size (not just a S/M/L type size). My favorite thus far has been the Anita Molded Sports Bra. Not the prettiest looking bra, but it is wonderfully supportive. I have one Freya bra that I think my sister (same size as me) loves, but it chafes me, so I don’t wear it often. I just bought a Shock Absorber because it was highly rated on Her Room and I have been wanting a racerback option for a while. Haven’t tried it on a run yet, but it seems pretty good from just trying it on.

Reply

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! I sure appreciate it.

Reply

Definitely Shock Absorbers. They are the ONLY sports bras that work for me and I’m a 34DD. I wish I could just dash in and pick one up at Target – but it’s not a possibility. :)

Reply

The target Champion are my fav!!! (and they come in lots of cute colours – since that is super important ;) )

Reply

New sports bras are actually on my list of things to get! I have actually been wanting to get a moving comfort bra… and I have never chaffed!! I usually get all my workout clothes from Marshall’s actually because you can get name brand for sooo much cheaper! I like Kohls too if I can find a good deal :)

Reply

I found the most amazing sports bras at Gap. Which seems super random to me. But I am in love with mine! They actually strap my boobs down and keep them there when I am running… The ones from target didn’t do that for me…

I’m Tatum, by the way, and I love reading your blog! You have been an encouragement to me to keep going. Thanks for being honest and “real” in your posts. I appreciate it. =)

Reply

I also have and LOVE the high impact style from the Gap. It’s worked out way better (and chafed me way less than) the Moving Comfort Vixen.

Reply

I always wear Nike-they sell for $20 and last for years and you can wear them without a tank top on and still look decent!

Reply

My favorite sports bras are always lululemon ones. Sometimes, nike has a few decent ones too. I seriously wish lululemon was more budget friendly most of the time, but at least as a fitness instructor you get 10% off, which is good!
I had a salad for Lunch today as well! It was the best.

Reply

I agree, Lisa! I only ever wear lululemon or Nike sports bras. I used to get the discount for coaching kids fitness classes but I don’t do that anymore so I’ve lost my discount… that was a very sad day! I’ve heard rumors that PE teachers get the discount but don’t know if that’s true or not…

Reply

I love the basic Nike sports bras- I think they are usually $30. They seem to wick moisture better than the Target champion ones, which used to be my favorites.

Lunch today was an Amy’s Organic Southwestern Burrito- I have one every day, M-F. They are sooo good! I hope I don’t get sick of them….

Reply

I own 3 different brands of sports bras: Aerie, Victoria’s Secret and Champion. The Champion sports bras from Target are my absolute favorite!! Good support, comfy and I’ve never had a problem with chafing. The ones from Aerie come in last, not good in terms of support for more than a B cup (I’m in C land). They are my last resort and I only wear them when all other sports bras are dirty.

Also, I wanted to say THANK YOU for tweeting the Run like a G! promo link. I was one of the blogs on it and I have some new readers already. Janae, you rock! :)

My favorite sports bra is danskin now from walmart, 2 bras for $9 and they fit amazing, UM YES: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Danskin-Now-Women-s-Seamless-Sport-Bras-2-Pack/15540051

My running shorts are all old navy and my rights are all over the board. Tops are a pretty good mix too. I have a lot of old navy though!

My thighs chafe so I use body glide and it is amazing.

My lunch for the first time in weeks was not a salad! It was a breakfast fritata slice, I made a big one every sunday for breakfast all week but this am I was lazy and didn’t feel like making lunch!

Reply

All my pants and capris are Danskin from Walmart! Can’t beat the price, so I even got on clearance for $4 a pair!

Reply

I love my Danskin bras because they keep the girls separate!! Lol that really bugs me. In everyone’s reviews on sports bras I’ve read so far they don’t mention this extremely important issue! Am I the only one that makes have two girls instead of one a priority?

Reply

Oh m gee. This is such a timely post. I just found an amazing new sports bra. It’s under armour and its only $30. http://m.citysports.com/under-armour-seamless-essentials-bra—womens/208846/product

I have a few scars on my rib cage from sports bras. The cuts/chafing is worst in summer, I guess I have a small rib cage/chest so it slides around a lot. The reason this bra works for me is because its seamless. So it can chafe like the others along my ribs. It’s a-ma-zing. That said, I don’t need a ton of support (like at all). So I’m not sure how this would work for other people. Anyway totally a winner for me though!

Reply

I always run in Nike Pro sports bra! If you watch, they go on sale! They are my favorite! Lunch today was carrots, PB, and avocado toast! Happy running!

Reply

I have sensitive skin to the extreme and if a sports bra doesn’t wick well I end up with eczema all along the band (attractive!)- so the Target ones don’t work for me. My favorite and least favorite are both Moving Comfort- least is the one with the zipper in front because it’s not fun being 3 miles into your run and realizing 99% of it is unzipped- awful!
I work at a running store, so buy it all there.
I use Body Glide to prevent chafe and then Desitin diaper cream to heal chafed skin.
Lunch: Peanut butter cookie Lara bar + Salad with a grilled TJ’s Masala burger on top.

Reply

Must say Moving Comfort are my favs. (I don’t have a zippered one, just a simple over the head and snap in back) They give great support and not that sweating nipple thing. Can I say that? ha! Oh well, I am sure ya all know what I mean. The removable pads make it nice.

I had a yummy Italian Flat out with cut up tomatoes, avocado and feta crumbles with a sprinkle of green olives and some juice from the jar. It was yum if I do say so myself. ;-)

Reply

I have yet to try it on a long run, but the Moving Comfort’s Vixen. Not only is it super supportive, but it actually looks good. Normally I don’t care about that but it is very rare to find one that actually looks good and can keep my 32 C/D’s from moving.

PBJ and an apple for me today.

Reply

I have to have the sports bras with a little padding in them bc of headlights :/ Sorry if that is TMI. I’m only a B cup but I just can’t wear those thin ones…I literally feel naked! I just ordered a new Saucony Ignite LT sports bra bc it was on clearance and looked like it had an extra layer inside…unfortunately it didn’t :(
I had a bacon and tomato sandwich! with chopped up tomato as my side. I LOVE fresh tomatoes in the summer. My bread was whole wheat, of course, but I cannot let go of mayonnaise for some reason :(

Reply

My favorite is this Lululemon one. So comfy and it has just a slight pad in it which keeps me from having the uniboob, or 12 year old boy chest which I like…….but has 0 importance to the run factor.
I do have at least 3 of those Target ones. I love the fun colors.

Wish we lived close enough to have lunch salads together. Just used every veggie we had and topped it with the leftover meat from what we made last night as well. My side item, or shall I saw dessert immediately following was a bowl of Raisin Bran.

Reply

Amen! Sports bras are tough to find. Some I have to wear inside out so the seams don’t dig in, especially on long runs. Pro tip for the more well endowed ladies! Haha :) I actually found a pretty good one by Danskin.

Reply

See this is when being a size AA comes in handy. Support is a non issue, just comfort. I have no idea what brand my sports bra is, it just feels right. I have several but I seem to wash the one I love every day and it is still holding up. We do wash every day so it is not a biggy.

Reply

I am seriously evangelical about Shock Absorbers sports bras. They are amazing for larger chests – no doubling up and no chafing. Very pricey but holds everything in place. (http://shockabsorberusa.com/focus/run.php). These are the only bras I’ll wear for running. I also have a Moving Comfort that I wear for boot camp/ barbell classes.

Reply

I either wear the Nike pro one which is the tightest one of found or I wear a lulu one that I love when I don’t need as much support.

I had Mexican rice today topped with guacamole and it was amazing! I think I could live off guacamole…

Reply

I am struggling to find a bra that doesn’t chaffe as i am increasing my mileage… So fra no luck so far. I will definitely be looking into some of these recommendations for larger chests. Thamks!!!

Reply

This is related to yesterday’a post, childrensplace.com has free shipping on all orders and an extra 15% off with code j8g153. I got 7 shirts for my boys and only spent $14! I figured I’d pass along the savings :)

Reply

I get my bras from Old Navy, and I really like them! Great price, and I’ve never had any chafing issues!

Reply

I like lululemon, ON, and nike/champion bras. I’m pretty cool with most bras, as long as I feel supported. And being pregnant, you’re right, you gotta have that support-even when I teach! hah

Reply

I love the Moving Comfort Charity! I get the most out of my tech shirts. I’ve actually chafed for the first time two weeks ago on my bra line. IT SUCKS!

I had mac n’ cheese for lunch with sausage. It was good!

Reply

My favourite was my Moving Comfort Juno Bra, but the seam at the the centre front of the bra has been rubbing against a patch of skin on my sternum leaving it raw, cut and painful, and I now have to wear a bandaid over that particular spot. It never used to do this so I’m not sure what’s happened. I have lost a small amount of weight which might be connected?

Reply

I love Champion bras too! My chafing is so random and rarely do I feel it one bit while running. However….. its always under my left boob and left arm when it does happen.

Reply

So I’ve been wondering this, and maybe someone can help me out…what does a woman who is basically seriously flat chested wear when she runs?

I run in a normal (padded) bra just to give me a little bit of shape… but do I still need a running bra, even though I have basically NO bounce?

Reply

I think that is completely up to you and what you feel comfortable in. I have a friend who is so flat chested she will run without any sort of bra and its totally comfortable for her. If you are bouncing it might be more comfortable to run in a sports bra to stop the bounce, but if your more comfortable in a regular bra or nothing at all go for it.

Reply

I wear a AA, not quite an A. I just like the feel of being a little more protected, but honestly whatever feels comfortable. I find that many sports bras can take the sweat but regular bras not so much.

Reply

I feel your pain! I’m an almost A- so basically I can forget my sports bra and still run! So, don’t pay a lot of money for what you don’t need!!!

I love Athleta work out tanks with a built in bra- it’s plenty of support and they last for YEARS!! I’m wearing some for the 9th year now and they still have elastic in all the right places.

Reply

Handful bras. Best thing I ever discovered. I don’t just wear them for running, I wear them for everthing. Great everyday bra as well. If you haven’t tried one, you need to! I was introduced to them two years ago and it was life changing. seriously. They are a little pricey, but I figure as much as I wear them it is worth it.

Reply

Thank you so much for the advice ladies :) Yes I guess the worst problem I have is with my regular bras getting SOAKED from sweat!!! And I have a very UNbalanced body type (major pear) so I like to wear a padded bra to give me a little shape. I guess I may have to give up my vanity completely and go for the thin stuff ;) Thank y’all so much!

Reply

I wear mostly Target sports bras, but I have a Nike one and one from Aerie.
I actually love my Aerie one and usually wear it first because it’s initially so comfortable, but once I start really sweating during my run it chafes me soo bad under my boobs :( and I never notice it until I’m in the shower almost screaming in pain!

Reply

Nike pro sports bras are by far my favorite. All others have been phased out. They last forever, never wear out, and are made with dri fit fabric so you’re not soaked in cotton sweat. (Yuck!) they run about 30 a piece but go on sale and are so worth the splurge.

Reply

I have to wear two sports bras whoever I workout and get soooooo jealous when I see girls wearing one with no problems. I think tomorrow I will celebrate Wednesday with pancakes :)

Reply

Ah thanks for this post! I recently posted asking for sports bra help so these are some great tips especially from readers giving advice about what larger chested women should do!

Reply

Moving comfort is the way to go and if and only if I have a gift card- I love Lululemon

Reply

Ooooohh great timing! I’m in need of some new bras. I’ve heard only good things about Moving Comfort.

I had lentil soup, delicious!

Reply

I don’t like the Champion ones, I still bounce way too much in those (and I’m not a large chested gal) but LOVE Moving Comfort – I am so thankful a friend recommended them to me! I use the Fiona (adjustable straps at the front were great when I was bfeeding). Question – do you give Brooke all her milk in sippy cups now? Or just try to give her some here and there? My son (11 months) is NOT having it..haha.

Reply

Love this post! Since weaning my youngest few months ago, I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect sports bra. Will definitely check out your favs. Thanks for the great tips!

Reply

I always get lululemon tanks that have the bra in them, that way it doesn’t move around and chafe…. then again I’m barely an A cup so that might not work for most normal chested people!
My 6 month old LOVES his sippy cup and gets excited whenever I give it to him ( I just put water in it to teach him to use it .. )

Reply

I don’t have any boobs. At all haha. So I really run in anything- sometimes just my shirt and built in bra!

Reply

Honestly the only bra that I’ve ever felt like I could do more than yoga in are Shock Absorber bras. However, they are a little pricier. I’m big enough for my frame (not huge) so I feel like its worth it…..no putting one bra over the other!

Reply

I love my Saucony Sports bras, but also love my champion ones from Target cheap and cute and functional.

I get most of my running gear online to be honest. I know what I like, I know what brands I will use and what size I need for each. I constantly check running warehouse, run outlet, and the brand sites for sales. I rarely pay full price. I also have email notifications through certain coupon sites to let me know when coupon codes are available for some of my favorite brands or stores. I like the high quality from my favorite brands but I also like not breaking the bank!

Reply

I double up on cheap ones for Wal-Mart or wear Under Armour ones that are great for larger chested girls. I do, however, HATE that they have pads in them that move around when washed. Err… I had a veggie sandwich for lunch. This is really my first hot summer that I have ran in. I have some major chaffing going on and I just picked up some glide stuff from my local running store. I hope it works!

Reply

Janae I was just thinking about you today because I just moved to NYC and had to get new running shoes and resolved to get Brooks because you always mention them. The store was the bestest, got feet analyzed for the first time ever and they felt hugged and loved by the Cadences :)
Thank you for your inadvertent adverts!
– just another big fan

Reply

That makes me so happy! Let me know how you like them! Have a great night!

Reply

Oh don’t worry, it’s not inadvertent

Reply

B = Brooke/Billy/Brooks??

Reply

I need padding for the headlight issue and swear by jantzen sports bras from kohls. They also come in great colors!

Reply

I get most of my workout gear, except shoes, at Academy Sports. I prefer their BCG brand sports bras because they’re super reasonable in price and I’ve never had any issues with them, but they don’t have to support too much :).
Moe’s grilled chicken salad with grilled onions, guacamole, and salsa – I love a good salad!

Reply

I am a cheapo when it comes to sports bras! (I usually just buy Chhampion at Target.) I always set out to get a really good one that won’t chafe, but then look at the price tag and just can’t do it. Not sure why…I have no problem spending over $100 on running shoes! :) I sweat like CRAZY and when I do long runs, I almost always chafe right in the front. I try Vaseline, but it’s not always successful. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and buy a really good one.
I also had a salad for lunch…spinach, provolone cheese, carrots, cucumbers, and turkey. And a mix of blueberries and raspberries for dessert (berry prices are finally coming down here in Indiana!)

Reply

I use body glide to prevent chaffing but will need to check out some of these sports bras!

Reply

I get a ton of my workout gear from Target and Nordstrom Rack! I am in love with those Champion sports bras and have about a million of them. I don’t chafe much unless it’s a really long run during the summer but I use body glide and it works like a dream!

Reply

My favorite sports bras are from Moving Comfort and Lululemon. I also like the Target ones when I’m not running, they don’t have enough support for me but they are so comfy.

Most of my workout gear comes from Lululemon and Athleta.

I used to chafe but since I switched to running skirts that have the leg grippers i don’t anymore.

I had broth, I had dental work yesterday and I can hardly open my mouth.

Reply

Being that I’m not well endowed, most of my sports bras are from Target and they are the champion brand. I have a permanent chafe mark right now, thankfully it doesn’t hurt. I use glide, but maybe I should look into better bras. I decided to do breakfast for lunch today and had scrambled egg whites with salsa and almond butter whole wheat toast.

Reply

I’m pretty flat chested, so I’m lucky that I don’t really have to be as picky when it comes to sports bras, I love the Target sports bras, and also Old Navy have been pretty good, but I do have a Nike and Brooks sports bra that were my splurges that I love too!

I had Potbelly for lunch today, it was my first time going there and it was SCRUMPTIOUS! I had my wisdom teeth removed last week, so I stuck to soup but it was INCREDIBLE and I had to have a delicious browniecookie to go along with it. Really really good!

Reply

I only have the C9 sports bras from Target. I don’t need much support so they do the trick and are very easy on my wallet! I love reading how many other runners wear them too! Virtually all of my running apparel, aside from the sports bras, is Oiselle. I’m on the brand’s team and I love their stuff. And the team behind it!

Reply

I love Nike sports bras, but I also love the cheap Target ones too. I am not well endowed in that area so I don’t have too much to worry about :)!
I get most of my stuff from either Scheels or Running Warehouse…some on ebay too! I get a lot of my running shirts as gifts too :).
Lunch was a peanut butter sandwich and goldfish and a greek yogurt :)

Reply

I seem to get my leg chafing than bra/shirt chafing.

I get most of my workout stuff at Target (because they are affordable) or the running outfitters by my house (because you gotta splurge sometimes!).

For lunch I had homemade huevos rancheros and guacamole. Yum. Yum. Yum!

Reply

OMG I chafe so much. I have scars from it. My current worst spot is under my right boob just above the bra line, and of course any other skin on skin spots. ;)

Brooke might prefer the straw kind of sippy cups. BTW.. not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but I used to give V sippy cups of water at night and he would lay down and drink from them, which caused a back up of fluid in his ears, causing ear infections, we almost had to do tubes. He is still in speech due to the lack of sounds he was hearing. When I figured it out, he didn’t get water anymore at bed, if he needed a drink he had to sit up to drink it. No ear infections since.

Reply

Oh I keep hearing about moving comfort and really want to try one. My fav sports bras are Nike and champion from target. Super basic but they squish everything so tight together nothing moves!

Reply

Pregnant over here and HATE having to double up!

Reply

I just bought my first Moving Comfort bra this weekend! Already obsessed.

Reply

I’m an 36A and I love under armour bras. The band design is really important to me. I like the band to be fairly snug and differentiated between that and the rest of the bra. I find that if it’s not essentially a separate distinguished piece than things slide around – my problem with the Champion bras (even in the smallest size).

Lulu bras are cute and I hear they’re good support, but no one is seeing it and I can’t justify that cost! Are you going to do a running shorts blog post? Lulu run speed shorts are my fave right now. Thick waist band and very comfy material.

Reply

I always wear the Moving Comfort Fiona bra. I’m a 34C, so the girls need something that doesn’t let them bounce. I’ve tried Target and some of the other cheaper bras but I bounce too much and end up having a sore chest when I’m done. For chafing, I use Body Glide.

Reply

I love your blog! I’m new to your blog and stayed up so late last night reading. My favorites are the Lulu 50 rep (which sadly they don’t make anymore) and the Nike Pros. I had a bad chafing experience with the Nikes one time, which is weird because it wasn’t even the first time I had worn them. I always reach for my Lulu first though, unless it’s dirty. Lulu is expensive but if you catch them on sale I think it’s worth the price. I’ve worn my favorite one at least twice a week for the last 2 years and it still holds much better than some of my Champion ones!

Please do a post on running shorts/crops!

Love love love Handful Bras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply

Me too. They are now my go to bra for working out and everyday wear. Best bras ever for girls not well endowed

Reply

I always wear Target sports bras! Love them!!!

Aside from Target, most of my other running stuff is from Mizuno (shoes) or Nike (pants, shorts, socks, etc.) I have a few Under Armour things left from when I played soccer way back in the day.

Reply

I used to always wear the cute Nike sports bras because I didn’t wear a tank top over them, but now since I always wear a shirt, I’ve switched to the champion ones at Target. You can’t beat their price! My chafing problems seem to come when I don’t take my wet bra off immediately after my run.

Reply

I had huge salad yesterday with a turkey burger patty and chicken in it. It was amazing.
I need to find a really good sports bra. I have bigger boobs so I usually end up wearing two at a time.

Reply

I LOVE Target Champion bras. I have HUGE boobs (DD), and these work so well for me! They give me a uni-boob, but I’ve never actually been in a sports bra that DOESN’T give me a uni-boob. They’re cheap, too!
I get most of my running gear from RunOn! in Richardson, TX, and Dick’s Sporting Goods — they always have good deals! I do need to find a running store in or around Oxford, MS since I am moving there for Law School in August! Anyone know of anything?!

Reply

I swear I don’t work for Lululemon (I should). I just love their stuff. I have a Flow Y bra from 5 years ago and it’s still doing the job. I recently purchased the Energy bra and so far, I love it! It was painful to shell out the 50 bucks for a sports bra, but it’s definately worth it. Bonus: Thy don’t completely squish your boobs into one giant pancake bubble.
PS Brooke is soooo cute! She gives me baby fever!

Reply

I always go for Moving Comfort and am now too afraid to try anything else! I tend to stick with whatever works and that one definitely works for me. Thank you for telling those girls what they need. We always go over sports bras with the females on our teams. The girls may think we’re silly, but sports bras are oh-so important.

Reply

I’ve had chafing problems too, and the scars to prove it. I’ve decided to give up on Nike, and tried out the Oiselle Strappy and can happily say after a half marathon on Sunday I have NO CHAFING!!! I’m buying more!!

For the well-endowed ladies (such as myself – 34D) you can’t go wrong with Enell sports bras. A little pricey at $65 a shot, but worth it! NO BOUNCE ladies!! I buy about 2-3 a year and they last running 40+ miles a week. I order them online.

I have just started running and have really been in search of a more supportive bra! Thanks for the suggestions! I also made pancakes yesterday for my kiddos! We love pancakes around our house. I tried to change them up a bit last night and made them sort of healthier by adding blueberries and almonds. They were really tasty! :)

i just started training for my first half marathon and being the poor newlywed that i am, i buy the clearance ones at old navy. i haven’t had any problems with chafing (note: my boobs are the equivalent of mosquito bites. can they even chafe?!) but i get major swoobs.

lunch: mcdonalds. i have no shame.

I love the Champions sports bras from Target! They are my favorite and SO comfy, but I got 2 from Nordstrom rack a while back and I’m not positive which brand they are but they have the molded cups in them (which I need) and they are SO comfortable it’s not even funny!

I love the Target Champion ones too, especially when they go on sale!

I get most of my tanktops/sports bras from Target just because they are cheap. For running shorts, I stick to anything by Brooks or New Balance. New Balance has a great deal out their outlet stores where you can get any two shorts for $30. So I hit that up ALL THE TIME.

Have you tried one of the straw sippy cups with Brooke? My little girl mastered that almost instanly (she’s less than a month older than Brooke) but still struggles with the conventional sippy cup so I just don’t bother anymore :)

I love Danskins for high impact activity. You can pick them up at Wal-Mart for under $15 Great deal, they work as well as any Reebok brand I’ve had. I have purchased both styles-clip in the front and clip in the back. I always put on body glide so I don’t cafe. I even body glide if I am just going to the gym now, I think I am addicted. :)

I love the champion seamless sports bras from target. No seams at all and they are so soft and comfy, and cheap!

We are like brain twins…without the swearing. I’ve had it in my head to write about sports bras lately because lately I’ve seen a whole lot of women out running who should invest in a little more support. As someone “older” I can say it really pays to take care of your breasts…good support makes a difference. My personal go-to is the Moving Comfort Juno. My least favorite are the really “comfortable”sports bras that feel like a single-ply jersey camisole and offer ZERO support while allowing the uniboob effect.

Enell, keeps the girls where they belong. It looks like a cross between a straightjacket and a corset, but it works!

I wish I put more thought into it, but I always buy what is on sale. I have one Victoria’s Secret sports bra that I bought on sale that is probably my favorite, but as long as they don’t chafe, I’m not picky!

I completely support this theory! I have found that the Energy Bra from lululemon athletica is my favorite ever! I also did the Champion bras from Target but once I broke down and spent a little extra and lulu I NEVER looked back! It’s my go to bra every time I run.

Janae if you love the Phoebe get a couple, they are not going to be making it anymore and it is my favorite. Moving Comfort is definitely my favorite.

Hi,
This is probably not too many people have heard of, but I am a male who has gynecomastia and have been using sports bras for well over 2 decades. Referred to using as a solution I was hesitant at first, but eventually tried. The first one was the Champion action tech which is one of my favorites which as you know is the compression style. I am an avid athlete and eventually tried the encapsulated styles of the Champion, VSX, Moving Comfort, etc which being a 36 D are as funny as it seems a perfect fit. I do a very good job of concealing this and those that do know totally understand.
I cant really help the way my body is, but sports bras are an awesome solution and figured I should bring this condition to peoples awareness. Sports bra manufacturers are increasing becoming aware of this and are offering chest binders and support garments. Still I have acquired a liking to sports bras and bra tanks and would change.
