I am not responsible enough for a phone, the nieces are back and why I don’t really run on the treadmill anymore.

Anytime Maggie comes within 7 feet of Brooke she almost hyperventilates due to excitement and she moves her hands up and down so fast you wouldn’t believe it.  BFFs for life.

My mom and I went to the mall to get my phone fixed.  Basically someone ran right into me at 7 peaks on Tuesday and my phone went flying through the air and the glass shattered.  Fun stuff.  So while it was being fixed we took Brooke to the indoor playground and as we were passing by TCBY we remembered it was WAFFLE CONE WEDNESDAY… 99 cents a cone.

Picture taken with my mom’s phone since mine was being fixed.  PS they broke my phone even more so now I am using some random one that they gave me.  Moral of the story–>  I probably am not responsible enough to even own a cell phone in the first place so I might as well not have one.

Mom, I think we may need to get you a new phone camera:)

Brooke was reunited with Curly.  It had been two months since their last adventures.

Yesterday was actually a Utah holiday!  It is called Pioneer Day and most people have work off, there are a bunch of races, parades and fireworks.   We celebrated with a bbq.  It has been far too long since I last had steak.

DSC 5312

My mom actually does make the best rice krispy treats.  Her magic secret is to double the marshmallows and add extra butter too.

DSC 5319

Brooke tried her first little tiny rice krispy treat and loved it but was very confused by how sticky it was.

DSC 5320

And then we added her to the height door frame where my dad charts everyone’s growing progress.

DSC 5323

I have 6-8 hill repeats today.  I have actually never done hill repeats outside and I have only done them on the treadmill before.  I had a reader ask why I no longer run on the treadmill like I used to and the answer is my coach.  He said I won’t be racing on the treadmill so it probably isn’t a great idea to be doing all of my training on the treadmill (except for recovery runs when I don’t have a babysitter).  I have also grown to love running outside with all of my heart but I do miss the long runs of watching Friday Night Lights while running on my treadmill every now and then.

I love TCBY! We don’t have one in Louisville which is heartbreaking!

I read this and thought, man! we dont have them in Louisville then the first comment was yours. Crazy :)

ah! your poor phone! i have an iphone and no case. some people call that risky but i dont like the extra heft of adding a case, as small as it might be. i will probably regret it one day, but i have dropped it on the pavement plenty of times without it shattering. i figure since I’m 5ft tall, it doesnt have that far to fall :)

Reply

I have a samsung galaxy, no case and I am the worst phone dropper! I probably drop my phone about 3 times a day. My phone is a survivor but I really should buy a case!

Best picture ever of the ice cream! I had some cake batter rice krispie treats once that were divine! I am 5′ 7″ just like my husband haha. 0% of my runs are on dreadmills. I’m not a chronic phone dropper more like a chronic phone washer. In the last 6 months I have dropped the phone in the sink while brushing my teeth AND washed it with the sheets! Yeesh.

I really admire people who can run on treadmills. I find it really tough to have the time and distance showing. I tried to cover it with a towel once, but… lets just say it wasn’t my most graceful dismount from a treadmill!

I’m 5 foot 2 inches. But I’ve been told I don’t look like a “small” person and that i’m in perfect proportion! Not sure what that means?! How tall are you?

Ellie

PS loving the amount of ice cream consumed on this blog!

I am 5’3″. Only recently did I start to feel like I was short, though. I have an iPhone 4s and have dropped it numerous times. I just use a regular bumped and haven’t had any issues yet (knocking on wood while I typed that).

Reply

Haaaaaaa I am injured right now so 0% of my runs are on the treadmill but 0% are also outside!

I am a little over 5’5″!

I’ve got an iPhone and drop it all the time (no fancy case)…so far no breaking so I’m pretty lucky!

PS. You sister’s kids got SO big!! Crazy to see how much they’ve changed over the last few months! Hope you all have a great day!!

Saturday I ran 14 miles on the tm. I love it! Of course I prefer running outside, but I just can’t take this heat! I would say for now about 75% of my runs are on it.
I’m tall… 5’11. It’s a blessing and a curse!

Reply

All my runs are outside! I’m 5’9. I have an iPhone and luckily have only dropped it a couple times…I have an otter box just in case!

I am 5’4 but take after my dad in a lot of my features. He is 6’4….I don’t get it. I have the Droid Razr Maxx HD. I just have a simple soft black rubber case. I never drop my phone though…but that could be because I don’t use it much, just to check emails and blogs haha!

Reply

I run about a third to half of my runs on the treadmill during the summer… I can’t wait for lower temperatures so that I can run 7-8 miles afterwork and not feel like I’m dying!

I’m 5’5″- shortest of my family. Sad.

I have Ghost Armor for my iPhone 5. I haven’t cracked it yet (knock on wood) and it’s been almost a year! I had a huge Otterbox case for it for awhile- but my husband said this was just as good, so we’re trying it out.

Reply

Extra marshmallows and butter in rice krispy treats….. sounds like a great idea! Good luck on the hill repeats!

Reply

I’m 5″3.. Maybe 5″4 on a good day when I stretch a little harder.

I try to do most of my runs outside since I froze my gym membership.

I was notorious for breaking phones. When I magically put a cheap case and screen protector on it, I stopped breaking it. I think it was all in my head though.

Reply

My phone keeps breaking but I swear it isn’t my fault. I think it’s a sign that I use it too much. Brooke and curly are the cutest. She’s going to be a good babysitter someday. Hill repeats are hard but you feel so accomplished after.

Reply

I run on the treadmill when I am working on speed, mostly. I have an iPhone which I have dropped and cracked. I swear I don’t know anyone who hasn’t!! Hopefully yours will be fixed soon :)

Reply

I just got a new iphone yesterday!! Wa-hoo! So excited! Hard to get used to the little keyboard. Sorry to hear about yours :(. How much was it to fix it?

I’m 5’6″. Pretty average :). Hubby is 5’10”, so a good match.

I still run 99.9% of my runs outside. I finally bought myself a decent case for my current phone. I don’t drop it often but I don’t want to freak out about it when I do.

I love Brooke’s face with the treats all over it!
I’m most definitely not a treadmill runner, but we do have one for when the weather is really bad in winter.
Good luck on your hills! I hope to go on a trail run today, so I’m sure I’ll have a few mingled into my run!

During the summer most of my runs are on the treadmill due to heat and rain. I have a love hate relationship with the treadmill so I am counting down the days til fall!

My phone was made for construction workers. It’s an android of some sort, one of the free phones at att. that thing has been through everything! my kids throw it all the time.
I have gotten so much crap for running on a treadmill. I’ve been told that it doesn’t count. It used to upset me but I have two children and if I don’t want to push them everyday then I HAVE to run on the treadmill. I’ve been improving so I think the treadmill is just fine. Gotta do what you gotta do.

During the summer 0% of my runs are on the treadmill! I HATE treadmills! I’m about 5’5″, but the doctor gives me a different answer everytime. I have an iPhone and I have no idea how it’s not broken yet, I drop it at least once a day. And I have a crappy case! I guess I’m just lucky! (knock on wood;) )

Reply

I love love love my iPhone case- I have the otterbox defender and it’s amazing. I’ve dropped my phone a million times and it’s kept it completely safe. My cousin left hers on the roof of her car, drove off, and her phone was still fine in the driveway 45 minutes later!! They have them on amazon.

Reply

That first picture of brooke is amazing, she looks like she is trying to be a dinosaur!! I’ve managed to be injured the last 2 summers but I would run outside if I had the chance. I am 5’7″ AND my iPhone has been shattered since March? The back camera only works 50% of the time right now and when my phone is locked / completely powered off the LED stays on… It’s super exciting.

Reply

I’m 5’10” but I was projected to be 6’7″. Good thing I’m not, as the hub is just an inch taller than me, so it’s perfect!

We are looking at getting a treadmill when we move given that we’re looking at moving to a small island in the PNW with just a wee fitness center. That means my summer treadmill runs will likely go from 0% to 50% or more.

Reply

I am 4’10:

I drop my phone all the time… usually as soon as I take a case off. I had thr front and back screen replaced not to long ago and the front and backed are already cracked again :(

Reply

I am 6 feet tall. I drop my phone all the time so it makes for a long fall. I have an Otterbox defender case so between me and my 2 year old and my 10 month old who always steal it from me, it is in perfect shape!

I laughed so hard at your mom’s cell phone picture! It made my day!

Brooke is SO cute!

0% of my runs are on the treadmill, I run 4 times a week and all of them are outside.

Im 5′ 6” the last time I checked, hopefully I haven’t shrunk! ;)

I’m also a chronic phone dropper.. I have a Samsung S4 and I didn’t bother to get a case for it until I went out running and dropped it and dented the side of it. Deffo got a case after that.. but I didn’t go for a ‘protect your phone’ case.. more like a ‘look how pretty my case is’ kinda thing :)

Reply

I do about 1 run a year on our treadmill…I can’t stand running on it and only the most dire of circumstances will cause me to get on it. The other 364 days of the year it is a very expensive hanger for all of our workout clothes :)

I’m almost 5’4″ which can sometimes be a pain because I’m kind of on the cut-off for short v. regular length pants and jeans. I end up buying both because if I want to wear shoes with a heel I need regular length, but if I’m wearing flats then I need the short length. Ah, well…there are definitely worse problems to have!

Reply

0% of my runs are on the treadmill so far, since I just started running in April. But I’m having a dilemma for the winter… Hubby doesn’t want me to get a gym membership, but I don’t think a few months would hurt! I don’t want to get out of the habit I’ve made.

I’m 5’6″

I have an iPhone 5, love love love it- looking forward to the iOS 7 this fall!

Reply

Danielle,
I have a beta version of the iOS 7 and let me tell you, I love it! Well, I’ll love it more once all the kinks are worked out. But that’s what betas are for :) But really, it’s awesome!

Reply

Your mom’s phone reminds me of my parents phone, anything with too many buttons confuses them. I only run on the treadmill when I have no other choice because of weather or hubby working late issues. I am 4-11″ and I have an Iphone 5. I’ve dropped my phone so many times but thank goodness it’s never cracked.

Reply

Ugh sorry about my phone. I used to be absolutely paranoid about my iPhone and I had a giant pink Otterbox Defender case. It’s the one where you can drop the phone from a second story balcony and it’s still fine. Now I have a cute Kate Spade cover and my phone is still fine. But if you’re super accident prone, maybe you should try an otterbox.

I hate the treadmill. I never knew how you could run on it all.the.time. I only use it when it’s raining really hard, when it’s late at night and I need to run but don’t want to do it outside, or when it’s really hot.

I’m 5’4!

Reply

And by sorry about my phone, I meant sorry about your phone.

Reply

Teresa and I are the same. I am 6’0″ and also have an otter box because me and my two year old drop it daily. The otterbox is bulky, but a must-have.

Reply

I’m a shorty at 5’3″ but I’ve learned to use it to my advantage. Well with the exception of buying pants which is harder than getting into Mensa. Super short legs, with bigger quads from running and a smaller waist…they don’t make size “short runner” pants.

I’m a chronic phone dropper for sure. If my iphone was a human it would be black and blue with bandages all over. I had an otter box once, but it kept messing up my power button (had to have it replaced 3 times!)

Reply

I am 5 feet 9 inches of pure craziness :) There was once a time in my life where I was replacing phones left and right. Lost one in a pile of leaves when I went leaf diving one October, one dropped into the toilet, and I washed another with our sheets one day.

Luckily, I have been able to hang on to my iPhone 5 a little longer than most this time.

Reply

I am actually doing less of my runs now! Mostly since I have a running partner, and the two of us don’t fit side-by-side on the one treadmill we have. I am actually fantastic at not dropping my iPhone. Its the one aspect of my life that isn’t completely clumsy. So, I have a cheaper case that’s really pretty :) (Watch me go and drop my phone in 5 minutes now.)

Reply

Currently, all of my running is outside. I don’t own a treadmill and don’t belong to a gym (well, I go to boot camp and Zumba at a gym, but it isn’t a weights and cardio machines type of gym). When it gets colder, I may have to join a gym to run (I live in Vermont and it gets COLD, which I hate, but more importantly, it gets really icy. I don’t think I’m willing to risk horrible injury).

I am 5’2″ tall and have been since I was about 14.

I have an iPhone 4S. I have a LifeProof case, and it has seriously saved my phone more than once. It makes my phone waterproof, dirtproof, and pretty much drop proof. I have dropped my phone at least 5 times on our bathroom floor (tile) from an at least 3 foot height – no cracks, no chips, nada. I have also dropped it while out walking/running at least twice, again, no cracks, chips or anything. I love, love, love this thing. It was expensive (like $80) but so worth it to protect my precious phone. I even got my daughter one for her iPod Touch, and she dropped it on the concrete sidewalk (twice) and it is still perfect. She also dropped it into the kiddie pool at the town pool. Again, perfect. I also love that it isn’t as “thick” as some of the Otter Box cases, so it still is relatively thin.

Reply

I really wish I had an excuse to run on the treadmill more, but Ohio summers are pretty mild, so there’s really no reason I can’t run outside in the mornings unless the weather is terrible. Unlike most people, I love the treadmill, but I always feel so guilty if it’s nice outside and I run on it!

Reply

I actually still love running on the treadmill during the summer, especially since my neighborhood is ridiculously hilly and I definitely don’t enjoy running steep hills every single run. I go for walks outside every day now though – the hills are great for that :)

Reply

I’m 5’8, but totally wish I was 5’11. What a dream. Maybe I’ll hit another growth spurt at 25 :)

Reply

Omg that first picture of Brooke had me laughing! So cute and funny. I’ve done one run on the treadmill this summer and my second will be today, only because it’s easier for me to do HIIT runs on it. But like you, I have been missing running on the treadmill, it’s my time to get caught up on my shows ;).Oddly enough, since I got the Iphone, I haven’t dropped it but a couple of times, usually by now there is scratches and it’s all beat up lol.

Reply

i run on the treadmill maybe once every two months. sometimes it’s fun to zone out and watch tv, but you’re right — not smart for race training.

Reply

I recently transferred from the treadmill to outdoor running too! I miss getting caught up on all of the news, but being outside is a lot better. At least until the snow starts falling then I’m back on the treadmill because I’m a wimp like that.

Reply

I would rather poke my eyeballs out than run on a treadmill. If I can’t run outside, I just don’t run. Seriously. I am incredibly amazed and impressed at those of you who can run on a treadmill for miles upon miles. Major props to you.

Reply

I’m actually really sad I don’t have access to a treadmill right now. I really like doing my weekday runs on them.
I am 5’3″. I’m a shorty :)
I have an iPhone and so far have been ok with it. No serious injuries yet. *knock on wood*

Reply

I do two treadmill tempo runs a week-usually after work and before disk when it’s still to hot and humid for tempo runs outside.

I’m 5’3.5″- the half inch obviously makes a huge difference! ;)

Reply

I haven’t been running a ton lately, but when I do, it’s mostly on my treadmill. I would be outside more often, but having a baby at home makes things a little more complicated so the treadmill works better at the moment. Once it cools off a little more, I’ll take him out in the jogging stroller, but we’d have to go before he wakes up in the morning or after his bedtime for it to be cool enough these days.

Reply

I have an otterbox, which makes my phone MASSIVE and heavy… but it really works haha

Reply

I rarely run on the treadmill… I love the fresh ocean air while I run! And I’m a chronic phone dropper (at least 2 times a day!) I have been known to literally throw my phone across the room totally by accident – it’s awful! I have an iSkin cover though and besides water damage it has done the trick (yes I’m knocking on wood!!)

I’m 5’5″ :)

P.S. I think Brooke’s reaction to the dog is so awesome! Too cute!

I’m 5’2” — short!

I am completely obsessed with Friday Night Lights (and Tim Riggins!)

My running is mainly on the treadmill because I’ve had 2 knee surgeries to remove part of the meniscus in each knee. The extra cushioning helps me ensure that I will continue to run.
My phone is a Samsung something, and it’s old and crappy. Need a new one.

Reply

0% of my runs are on the dreadmill. All outside, year round! I live in MN so winters can be a challenge! I managed to run all winter with my fabulous neighbor! Averaging 130 miles/month! We meet at crazy early mornings and run with headlamps!!

I am 5′ tall….

My phone has a cracked screen…I really dislike my phone! I am too cheap to upgrade!

Reply

I used to run on the treadmill all the time (probably 75-80% of my runs) but now I haven’t stepped foot on one since April and I truly can’t imagine going back! No idea how I ran on them for so long.

I’m 5’7″ and that makes me feel tall but I think it’s actually closer to average.

Reply

Love that photo of Brooke post-rice krispy treat. Adorable x 1000. I’ve been trying to do more of my runs outside this summer, too. I generally just use the treadmill when it’s too hot or cold/icy out to run outdoors. It’s nice to get out and enjoy nature.

Reply

Bad news about your phone! I’ve had mine for about 7 months now and the fact that I’ve made it this long without incident is amazing.
And I’m 5’7 on the dot!

Reply

the majority of my runs are on the treadmill now that it is SO stinkin’ hot outside! getting up early for me has become way more difficult than it used to be, so hopefully i can get back into that early running routine and beat the heat. i actually like the treadmill, though your coach is right that the race isn’t on the treadmill! good way of looking at it!

i am about 5’7″ ish? i love my iPhone 4S and i have an otterbox commuter case on it – it is great because i am constantly dropping my phone!!

Reply

I honestly HATE running in the heat/humidity so I haven’t been motivated over the last few weeks. Today is in the 70s though so I’m definitely getting my butt outside. Glorious.

I have the iPhone 4 and bought a case from target. Moderately clunky but works like a charm.

I’m 5’5″… not too tall or short I guess. I would like to be an inch taller:)

Reply

$0.99 waffle cones?! Awesome! I’ll have to see if our TCBY has the same deal. YUM! I try to avoid the treadmill if at all possible during the spring, summer, and fall. It’s so hilly where I live that hill workouts are never a problem. Open front door, turn any direction, and, BAM, there’s a hill.

Reply

I used to run outside a lot during the summer and took the winters for time on the treadmill. I’d rather wake up early to run instead of running on the hamster wheel. Although, it is nice to zone out and watch trashy tv. I’m 5’6.75″ :)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Z? I think? It’s some sort of Samsung and I need a case because if I didn’t have one it would probably break within 24 hours.

Reply

Right now I do everything on the treadmill. Oklahoma heat and humidity is no joke!

Reply

I’m 5’8″ and the shortest person in my family. I apparently come from a long line of giants.

I usually run all of my summer runs outside, but this summer has been attrocious, so I’m running about 35-50% of my runs on the TM. It’s sad, but I don’t want to die of heat stroke.

Reply

I never run on a treadmill-I don’t own one and I don’t have a gym membership, so I just have to suck it up and run outside, heat or snow ;) I survived so far!

My iPhone 4 shattered glass story goes back to May 2012, when I twisted my ankle and smashed my phone on the curb while collapsing on the ground. I’m so lazy that I never bothered to change the glass…

I’m a tiny 5’3!

Reply

i try to never run on the treadmill unless i have to (usually when there’s very bad weather)…so i would say 20% of my training. i’m 5’6 and that is the cutest pic of Brooke and Maggie!

Reply

I almost never run on the treadmill in the summer. In the winter, when it’s icy and dark all the time, I do a lot of treadmill runs, so I really want to take advantage of the outdoors in the summer.

Reply

I’m kind of embarrassed to say, but ALL of my runs are on the treadmill in the summer. What can I say? We live in Texas, and I can’t handle the heat!

I’m 5’5″ and a 1/2″, but I always round up. :)

I JUST got an iPhone 5, and I got an Otterbox case because I am the queen of breaking phone screens, and I really don’t want that to happen again!

Reply

I only ever do treadmill runs when it is the dead of winter and there is ice on the ground to make running difficult. So 0% for me right now!

I’m 5’4″. Yes I’m Canadian and things are metric up here, but funnily enough, we only ever say our height in cm when it’s going on something official.

I have an iPhone with a Burton case (similar to an otter box but not as bulky) and a screen cover that cost a lot but has never had any bubbles under it. I tend to drop it at least once a week, so protection was a must!

Hooray for family time! Your older niece totally looks like she could be your daughter/Brooke’s big sister, and I can’t believe how big Curly looks!

I love Pioneer Day! I wish I would have been in Utah to celebrate. I usually do one of my friends a week on the treadmill. If it rains or too hot outside.

I am 5’4″.

I have an iPhone and must have a good case because I always drop my phone.

Happy Running!!!

Summer in Florida= 90% of runs on the treadmill… I hate running on a treadmill and much prefer to be outside, but I cannot deal with my asthma in the humidity :/ Hopefully in a month or two I can be outside again!

I’m the tallest girl in my family at a whopping 5’5″ lol. The men on my dad’s side are tall though: my brother and cousin are both over 6′!

I have an iPhone and have been pretty lucky as far as dropping and not breaking it haha (knock on wood).

Reply

When I first started running, I was 100% treadmill. Now I run 100% outside since I don’t own a treadmill or have a gym membership. I love it!

I don’t drop my iPhone very much, but my 13 month old son loves to play with it. He’s a little rough with it sometimes and I’ve been so lucky that it hasn’t broken yet. I probably should get a sturdier case, especially since he’s now figured out how to take the existing one off. Little bugger.

Reply

The treadmill is my comfort zone- i mostly run there. Also I’ve only been reagularly running for a year or so and each summer I’ve done more training- working in two cities I don’t know= treadmill running for me! I do go outside sometimes but it’s hard with a busy schedule and HOT weather.

Reply

I’m sorry about your phone! Mine has suffered quite a few tramatic experiences. (I.E lifeproof cases are NOT lifeproof y’all)

This is sort of weird, but I get bored running on the treadmill. If I run outdoors the houses and scenery keeps me occupied, and I usually end up running more!

Reply

I don’t do any runs on the treadmill because I’m convinced they are actually torture devices in disguise. I would much rather run outside even in the cold and rain any day then on a treadmill

Funny, that the majority of my runs are on the treadmill because that’s the only chance I get. :) Oh well, do what works, right? Good luck with your repeats! HUGS!

I have had my iphone 4 for a almost 2.5 years and do not want one at all. I do not want to go from unlimited data to limited. Unfortunately, it fell this week at just the right angle where the screen broke. I am not sure how much it would be to fix it but I have never had a phone problem before :( I am devastated and wanted to hold out for the newest version.

Because of snow I did almost all of my 2010 Boston Marathon training on a treadmill without any problems, but for some reason every since then, my knee hurts on the treadmill, but is fine when I run outside! Go figure…

Rice Krispy treats were the first “dessert” my son ever “helped himself to” when he was a toddler. I walked into the kitchen and there he was helping himself to one from the pan! HaHa!

I’m a MAC lover…so iPhone 5 it is…cross my fingers…I’ve never had a “breaking” issue

I’ve been running on the treadmill a lot this Summer because it is so hot here in the South! I usually do a lot of speed work on the TM and then my easier runs outside right now because it’s hard to push it when its 90+* and 100% humidity around here!

I’m 5’10” :)

I have an iphone 4s and I love it! I have a purple flowered case from Madewell, and yes, I drop my phone a lot!

I want to run on my treadmill but I always find an excuse not to. I prefer waiting til 7-8pm so that is has cooled a tad(which means about 95 degrees) and then doing my run. But I’d say I hit the treadmill 2-3x a month.

I am 5’3

I use a speck case for iPhone.

I just dropped my iPod while running – boo! First time I have ever cracked it :(
I do almost all of my runs outside – I didn’t have a treadmill until I got a $30 one at a yard sale and it bores me to tears and hurts my knees. Bottom line, outside rocks!

Reply

I have my iPhone in an OtterBox Defender case. It’s flown out of my hand on bike rides and been run over by a car and closed in the tailgate if my minivan and the phone is in perfect shape. Not sleek and sexy but also not broken!

Reply

I started running on a treadmill about 17 years ago, I no longer own one so all my runs are outside. I’m an early bird so it works okay for me to just run at 5:00 a.m. to beat the heat.

Reply

I’m 5’10! Tall girl status :)

If I let myself sleep in and it’s too hot outside to run I’ll go run on a treadmill at the gym. Otherwise, I run outside in the morning–it’s just too beautiful to pass up.

Reply

100 % of all of my runs are outside: rain, shine, hot or cold. I just don’t care for the dreadmill at all and I agree with your coach about training out doors.

Reply

I’m 5’5″. Because I don’t own a treadmill and would have to drive 5 mins down the street to my mom’s (I know, problems, right?!), I usually run outside. But as soon as winter hits, I’m all up on the treadmill because I’m a seasonal runner, fo sho!!!

So cute of your Dad to measure everyone’s heights! :)

Treadmill is no fun for me. If I can’t run outside usually ill jump on my stationary bike or pop in a workout DVD. I find my stride changes on a treadmill and I get weird twinges in my ankles and knees…

I’m a giraffe at 5’11 ~ and run about as awkward as a newborn baby one haha.

I did a lot of “recovery” running on the treadmill earlier this year but now I run 99% outside. I just found out I am pregnant tho so I haven’t been running much lately, which stinks because I was training for a half marathon in October, my first race this year after 7 months of recovery and re-training!

The “don’t get out of breath” advice freaks me out everytime I go out ~ how did you handle that? I’m only 5 weeks along so I know I’m freaking out about nothing …. but still, it is ruining my running brain and replacing it with paranoid brain. It basically isn’t possible to run without breathing heavier, otherwise it is called walking! :-/
