Yesterday afternoon we went to a Billy’s (it was so weird because everyone there only knows him as Bill and I kept getting confused about who they were talking about when they said Bill) work potluck activity.
I felt extremely nervous about finding the perfect thing to bring to make sure to impress them so that they would think he is extra cool. In my brain the way to impress people is with crescent rolls filled with cream cheese so I made my chicken rolls. I think it worked.
The view from the house where the party was at was incredible and they even had a face painter and balloon maker person there for the kids. I forgot why Brooke was mad at me in the below picture but it probably had something to do with the fact that I ate a huge plate of dessert right in front of her and let’s just say I am not the best at sharing.
And the huge plate of dessert. There was also a lot of delicious lunch foods with everything from ribs to taquitos to an avocado salsa that I ate with a fork it was so good.
Let’s just take a moment of silence to honor the genius that came up with the idea to make chocolate covered grapes (please excuse the cheesecake crumbs on my now favorite dessert ever).
I loved meeting the people that Billy works with and it is always fun to hear more about what he does all day long. Brooke is past the point of always wanting to be in my lap (I know, I cry myself to sleep every night because of this) and would rather have her own chair or to be on the ground exploring the world.
3 more important things that I really must tell you about from yesterday:
1. Billy put my treadmill together which is exciting because now if I ‘accidentally’ don’t wake up to run before he leaves I can get my workout done (even though I will be bored on that thing) when Brooke is napping.
2. Thank goodness for technology. Last night we got every single member of my family on to Hang Out (not everyone in these pictures…but at one point everyone was there).
I think I am hilarious.
3. Leftovers for dinner last night while talking to my family. I refuse to admit how many watermelons we go through a week.
