9 months, three things about my run and 79 degrees before 6 a.m.

Today is a huge day. Brooke is NINE MONTHS OLD TODAY!

Every day gets better and better. She really is the best. Getting her out of the crib in the morning is in fact my favorite thing in the world.

DSC 2397

2 things about the below image.

1. How in the world was I already out the door and doing my running drills at 5:47 this morning?

2. How in the world was it already 79 degrees at 5:47 this morning?

IMG 9216

3 things about my run:

1. There were a trillion other runners out that early and it felt like it was the middle of the day because it was so busy out. I guess if you are going to run here, you run early.

2. I lost 14 lbs of water weight during my run and will replenish my body with 14 lbs of froyo later on in the day.

3. I FORGOT MY GARMIN in Utah. As I was searching for it this morning I nearly had a heart attack when I realized it was in my sister’s jogging stroller. I don’t know how I could have let this happen. Trying to convince her to FedEx overnight it to me so I never have to go without it again.

Billy love the app Strava so I gave it a shot today. It is pretty cool because it tracks your running etc (although I don’t know how accurate the pace was for me because it felt really off throughout my run but maybe I was just still asleep) and you can compete against other people that have ran the same route etc.

A screen shot of what Strava looks like 14 minutes into my run.

IMG 9220

Oh yeah. I also got lost on my way back. Turns out every house/street/thing looks the exact same in their neighborhood and I had to put their address in my gps in order to get back home. My phone is my brain.

Splash pad. Free. Kids love it. Pure awesomeness.

DSC 2403

Next to the splash pad were swings. Brooke was living the dream.

DSC 2402

Brooke and her cousin are just 9 months apart. It is perfect.

My nephew, niece and Brooke all passed out in the back seat on the way home.

DSC 2408

My brilliant sister-in-law decided we should use her buy one get one free coupon for lunch. If you have read my blog from back in my teaching high school days you may remember that I ate Subway sandwiches a few times a week.

I am so happy to reintroduce the ham and swiss cheese with all the veggies (except olives) back into my life.

DSC 2412

***** edited to add. I just found my Garmin in my bag. Do not continue to worry about the fact I almost had to live a few days without it.

——————————————————————

Do you use your phone ever to track your run? Ever tried Strava before? Thoughts?

Subway lovers: What kind of sandwich do you order there?

Would you rather run when it is hot hot hot or freezing cold?

Ever gotten lost on a run?

(Feel free to wish Brooke happy nine month birthday)

Glad you found your garmin! I used my phone before I convinced my husband that I needed a garmin. I used the Runkeeper app and was quite happy with it. I think I a really have a harder time pushing myself when it’s super hot than freezing cold. That seems crazy to me because I am a California girl at heart. This past winter taught me that I could run in almost anything. You can always layer on more clothes when it’s cold.

Happy 9mo precious Brooke! I would die if I left my garmin anywhere! I would rather run in the freezing cold, heat sucks!

Reply

Happy 9 mos to Brooke! Now she’s been out as long as she was in. ;)

I once built a Subway sandwich with chicken, marinara sauce, parmesan, and all the veggies except olives, and the Subway guy called it a “glorious sandwich.” I knew on that day that I had done a great thing.

I made a wrong turn on more than one occasion while running in my own neighborhood. I’ve only lived there 7 years. What gives?!

Happy 9-month birthday Brooke!

I use Nike+, it’s ok. I know for a fact I’m getting a Garmin on Friday for my birthday – the surprise will be whether it’s purple or green. I am beyond excited!

I love the meatball sub on flatbread with everything, extra peppers. I used to get it everyday when I worked for City Council….YUM!

My ideal running temp is 30 degrees. I run in shorts and a long sleeve shirt and i’m good, I wrap my hands in my sleeves and I’m good. As my body is like an oven within 10 minutes, it works.

I could have kept up with you today! I ran 5 miles with an average pace of 7:37!

Happy 9 month birthday, Brooke!

I am neither a runner nor a Subway eater, so I can’t answer those questions, but I did want to suggest you download the Yahoo Weather app for your phone. It is way prettier than the stock app.

Reply

Ahhhh thank you! Took your advice and I love it!

I always get lost! I have the worst sense of direction! I want to run trails the summer and I’m begging more experienced runners to go with me just so I don’t go missing. Lately I just go to Liberty Park in SLC. It has lots of trees and just goes around and around.
I like to run in colder temps. I’ve done both extremes and just think either extreme is just plain dangerous. But if I had my choice it would be cold. Unless it was windy…

Reply

I tried Liberty Park a few weeks ago. I felt safe there (which I was worried about since, you know, it is Liberty Park – could be worse and be Pioneer Park, I suppose…) and I realized that I hated the chip path! So after about a lap or so, I switched to the sidewalk. The reason I haven’t gone back is because it is kinda far from where I live so it ends up being a two hour event. ):

Reply

It is super safe…especially during the daylight. Same with the Jordan Parkway. I know there has been murders and rapes…(yikes)…but I found that if you run south of 48th and go during bright daylight hours there is tons of families and people around. I am not a fan of the chip path, sometimes I’ll run on the grass, but mostly just the sidewalk.

Reply

I’ve never used my phone to track my run, but I have a friend that does it all the time and loves it. I think she uses Runkeeper.

I’m not a huge fan of Subway. I’m a vegetarian and they always seem super stingy on the good vegetables.

I’d much rather run when it’s cold than hot. Even worse than hot is HUMID. I once went to orlando in April for a work trip and I had to get up at 4:30am to run and it was still miserable. I was running through the hotel sprinklers to cool down.

Reply

What a perfect way to celebrate 9 months!!! I love splash pads. We used to have them at the old pool I worked at. You will need it with the 100+ degree weather- I thought today’s 75 was bad here! My ideal running temperature is definitely 70 or so once I’m used to it. I hate being cold!

Reply

Haha yeah, welcome to Phoenix!! And this isn’t even bad, come back in July!! You were smart to go in the morning though because it does NOT cool off at night until about 1am. After 5 years in AZ, I am SO EXCITED to finally be leaving!!!

Reply

Where are you moving to?

Reply

North Carolina!!

Reply

I sadly do not have a Harmon and must always use my phone to track. I use Strava. Its a decent program. Sometimes I wonder how accurate it is but it does the trick.

Subway? Usually turkey but if I want to splurge I’ll have the bacon chicken ranch.

Ive gotten lost a couple of times on new routes when the road that was supposed to be there wasn’t. Thank God for gps on my phone.

Happy 9th Month cutest Brooke!!!! Only 3 months til she can eat ice cream :)

Phew! So glad you found it! I almost jumped in the car to drive to your sister’s and then drive to Arizona to bring it to you! (forget the fact that I have no idea where any of your family lives and this would be a ridiculous idea)

I’m impressed that you knew your brother’s address in order to type it in your phone! I’ve used Map My Run app to record my runs.

Reply

I would SO rather run in the freezing cold! It seems way more fun that way.
I normally get the veggie delight at Subway, and I used to use my phone all of the time! Right now, I’m treadmill running. I CAN’T believe it was 79 degrees that early! Insane. And Happy 9 Month Birthday Brooke! :)

Reply

Happy 9 months Brooke! Noah will be 18 months on Saturday… And yay for finding the garmin! I love the heat. And yes I have gotten lost several times. The worst was on a long run when I wanted to attempt ten miles and I ended up doing almost 17. It was not fun!

Reply

I think I’d rather run when it’s freezing cold. I got heat stroke last summer while doing a 50K on a day that 95-100 degrees. Since then I’ve been really sensitive to the heat, especially if it’s humid. I get faint, dizzy, sick…not fun.

Reply

happy 9 mo b-day brooke. you are my b-day twin today. you know how sometimes you think, if you could have dinner with anyone, who would you select? It would be you HRG! Somehow your passion just exploded through my laptop as I was reading this post. Happy Wednesday from VA.

I want to have dinner with you!

I do not like using my phone… well, in all honesty, I’ve never tried it so I can’t say that I don’t like it with full confidence. However, I can say I enjoy using my garmin. Hope you’re having a blast in AZ! I hope to go there some day!

Reply

Bahaha. You got lost on your AZ run – just like me! I told you it is ridiculously easy to do there with similar houses and no mountains for direction! But at least you had your phone and you didn’t have to run to the Starbucks and call your mommy like I did ;) When I was running there in November it was warm, But I went running at 6 and all the runners there had their parkas on. No joke. It was obvious I was not from AZ. lol. And ya. 78 degrees. Now imagine running in that temp with the sun high in the sky and for 26 miles. Yep. That was my marathon. Stupid stupid heat. SO yes, I would rather run in the cold.

It is always crazy at 9 months to think that they have now been outside of you the same amount of time they were in you. It is soooo much better the 9 months they are out! Happy 9mo. Birthday Brooke! And finding your Garmin? What a great present!! ;)

Reply

I seriously was so close to calling you when I got lost to tell you about it ha but then I remembered how ridiculously early it was! Seriously EVERYTHING here looks the same and there are no mountains!!!

Reply

There are some mountains in Phx area (go hike Camelback…really early in morning) but prettier ones up northern AZ and in Tucson area (where I live). I love Garmin and Strava…I utilize the best of both worlds by uploading my Garmin run and cycling data into Strava website. Happy 9mo Brooke! My nephew is 1 month older and has so much in common w/ Brooke…including crawling styles : )

Reply

PS I did call my mom to get their address hahahah

Too funny! I love this more than you know!

Reply

3 more months until the big 1 year birthday! Wow!

I would much rather run in the cold than the heat. The heat exacerbates my MS symptoms so it’s not really an option for me to run when it’s hot out. My body thinks anything over 60 degrees is hot when I run…makes it a little challenging in the summer time!

Reply

Good for you for still running! My mom has had MS for about 12 years, she’s doing quite well but I understand the difficulties! Best of luck to you :)

Reply

Thanks for sharing about your mom. I’m glad to hear she is doing well!

Reply

I prefer RunKeeper to Strava. I like having my playlist from iTunes pushed through. I also would like to run when it’s freezing instead of hot! Glad you didn’t forget your Garmin in UT!

Reply

I need more details about this playlist thing…

Reply

It’s the best, ever. Within RunKeeper, as you set your Activity Type (running) below it asks which playlist you want to run to and chooses from your iTunes playlists!

Reply

Wow! I need that!!!!

Happy 3/4 birthday, Brooke! I would love seeing that sweet face every morning, too. I always use my Garmin to track my runs, but I hear MapMyRun isn’t too bad. I’d be lost without my Garmin, too. Glad you found yours! I much prefer to run when it’s cold than when it’s hot, but I don’t like to mess with ice. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Reply

CRAZY COLD weather will always be better than hot weather! I ran in a snow storm once, no biggies…. but running in humid NYC in the summer, now that takes courage! Happy nine month birthday little Brooke- you really are the cutest little girl <3 PS: I just finished re-reading your race recaps fort the 4th billion time- got my first half marathon in Brooklyn this Saturday and need some motivation!

Happy 9 Months to Brooke!

I always get lost on a run. Usually around mile 3, I get sidetracked, take a detour and then go “where the bleep am I?!” It’s a good way to increase your distance for the day haha.

Reply

I love how there are a bunch of people with the same thought on Brooke’s 9-month birthday as me…..countdown to ice cream time! I’ve only used my phone once or twice to track my run….it drains the battery so I try to avoid it.

Subway buffalo chicken. Amazing. Otherwise, I’m boring turkey w/ provolone. And toasted, always toasted.

I would rather run in freezing cold bc you can always put more clothes on. There are only so many layers you can take off before you get arrested…. I’m out of luck though bc I recently moved to southern Nevada, so 100 degree weather is here to stay I think.

Reply

Happy 9 mos Brooke! I’ve never tried Strava before, it looks pretty serious! I would definitely rather run in the cold… which doesn’t work well after moving to south Florida…. we also hit the 80s before 6am and it forces me to have a season long affair with the treadmill. I stick with turkey at subway but add everything possible to it. I got lost trying to find my own house when the day after I first moved here…. there are 5 different streets with the same number and I chose the wrong one, oops I have issues! Hope you have a blast in Phoenix with more family!!

Love that bed head and cute little swimsuit.

So un related to running but please, please tell me what car it is in the picture? It is highly impressive to fit 2 rearfacing infant seats and a forward facing seat in a car. I am a geek, I chose my car based on how our carseats fit in the car. I also chose the narrowest carseats on the market ( sunshine radians, love those).

Reply

I get lost more times on my runs than I care to admit and if wasn’t for the map function on my garmin I would probably get lost much more

Reply

happy 9 months, brooke! :) i love her cute little bathing suit!

i always order a turkey sandwich on wheat with spinach, cucumbers, and extra extra tomatoes!

Reply

Brooke in the swing!!!! I can’t take the cuteness! And yum Subway. I haven’t had it in soooo long, but my husband and I used to eat it literally at least once a week. I always get spinach instead of lettuce and extra banana peppers!

xo

Happy Birthday Brookers. (I love when you call her that)
I would rather run in hot hot than in cold. I don’t do cold very well.
I LOVE Subway. I always get the chicken breast with every veggie except the spinach, it over powers everything.

Reply

Happy 9 months to Brooke!!

I have a Garmin Forerunner 10 but if I don’t feel like using it, I use the Runkeeper app on my phone.

Turkey on whole wheat is my fav from Subway!

I live in Arizona so it is always hot, hot, hot and I love it !

Reply

I use Cardio Trainer to track my walks. It’s been pretty accurate for me so far.

I usually get either turnkey or veggie, both on whole wheat when I’m at Subway.

Reply

I can’t even handle how smitten you are with Brooke. Sweetest thing ever. For real. And she looks so tiny and adorable in that swing. Gush <3

There was a summer when I working every day with a Subway across the street. I ate there pretty much every day for lunch and I think I ODd on subs because the smell of the place makes me feel a little sick, so it's been a few years since I've eaten there. Turkey and swiss was always my pick.

Reply

happy 9 months Brooke! she seriously looks like a cabbage patch doll. are you serious about 14 lbs this morning? I think I’ll put this chocolate chip cookie down now, even though it IS national chocolate chip cookie day. miss you!

I was totally kidding but it felt like I was sweating so much the whole time!

I miss YOU! Give me details on your life!

I LOVE Strava! The running part can keep track of splits (mile, 5k, etc). You can also upload info from your Garmin to the Strava website and it will keep track of everything. I use my phone for biking and my garmin for running. As far as temperature, I like cold. I can bundle, peel and warm up… There’s only so much that you can do with heat.

Reply

Happy 9 months Brooke!

I’d much prefer to run in the freezing cold. Being from the north of England, I crumble when running in the heat!

Reply

Happy 9 months! Having no Garmin is a tragedy – I’m glad you found it. Also, I love using Strava. It’s a great tool!

Reply

I prefer running when its cold, my body hates the heat! I got lost on a run in Central Park last year. We were there for vacation and I didn’t realize just how big it was and didn’t really pay attention to where we entered the park at. Our 4 mile run ended being closer to 7 by the time we figured out how to get back to our hotel.

Reply

Happy 9 months Brooke! I have a 7.5 month old little boy who I would betrothe to her in a second if you’ll allow it! You’re making me very jealous of the Phoenix weather and splash pad. I want to pack my bags and fly down there tomorrow.

Reply

Happy 9 months Brooke! She’s such a cutie, especially in that swimsuit! :-)

From Subway, my favourite is an oven roasted chicken breast with swiss, honey mustard and a pile of all veggies except onions and green olives

Reply

I was SO over Subway until I saw that picture. Mmm

Reply

Yes, I ran at 6 am this am too. You think that’s bad, come back in July anfpd it will already be about 100 degrees at 6 am! :-/

Can I ask where that park is with the splash pad? We have a splash pad in our neighborhood but not that cool. Plus, with my 3 yr old, we have to mix up the parks or we all get bored. Love that there are swings too! (You can email me if you don’t want to post on here.)

I use Runtastic on my phone for running. Since it also since to your playlist, I sold my Garmin on eBay. Love it!

Happy 9 Months, Brooke!! She is just the cutest thing!

I use the Niko + app on my phone to track everything! Glad you don’t have to live without your Garmin :) My favorite subway is the chicken with veggies and ranch! Delicious! I also don’t think i’d run if it was hot hot hot or cold haha I need it in the middle :) though I just finished a run in 86 degree temps!

Never tried Strava but I loved runkeeper and Nike’s app. Your sub made me so hungry! My new house is walkable to a Subway and a Dunkin Doughnuts… I think I’m in trouble!

Whoo that’s early! I normally use MapMyRun to track my runs!

Definitely have gotten lost in my neighborhood before. And my death then I’m still relatively new to the area :)

Happy nine month birthday Brooke!

Where is the yogurt meet up goings o be in Phoenix??? :)

Reply

I am thinking lunch on Monday! Could you do that?

Reply

Yay for Brooke! 9 months is a great age! I would much rather when it’s cold because you can always bundle up. When my oldest daughter was born, I had a Subway turkey sub in the hospital. I didn’t eat deli meat when I was pregnant, and that was the best sandwich ever!!

Reply

I use my phone to track my run, but it’s because I don’t have a garmin yet. It’s on my birthday list :D

I order a veggie delite sub from Subway…with all the pickles they will give me. Sometimes they tell me that the sandwich won’t close if I add anymore. I live in FL but I like when it’s high 40s-low 60s. That’s freezing in FL, but ideal running weather for me! Any other time of the day, I want it to be hot hot hot hot hot!!

Reply

So let me tell you a story about the one time I went running in AZ. I was on a business trip and we got out at 3pm and I went for a run in the blazing sun. I’m used to heat from running in Louisiana, and with no humidity I barely noticed it. But when I returned an hour later, the sun had actually MELTED the plastic screen cover on my ipod case!

Reply

I would almost rather run in the cold – at least your body warms you up! Happy 9 month birthday to Brooke, she is honestly one of the most adorable babies I’ve ever seen :)

Reply

Ah I miss being that little and hanging out on the swings all day long!

I am super jealous of your heat by the way, the other morning I woke up and the “real feel” was 38 degrees. I thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t.

Reply

Subway I usually get chicken with all the veggies + sub sauce and mayo ( I don’t think they have sub sauce in the USA, pretty sure it’s just italian dressing)

Depends what you mean by very cold, here it gets to – 40 and running is pretty painful, I make it to about – 20 C and stay inside below that!

Reply

Happy 9 months to Brooke!!

I use my garmin but when it’s been dead or I forget it I second (third) runkeeper, it’s a great app, I love it.

I also would much rather run in freezing cold then the blazing heat. I can’t believe it was that hot at 5:47!! Yikes!! I used to live in Sacramento and had my fair share of hot morning runs, but sometimes you have no choice. It definitely slowed me down a lot!

Reply

I would rather run in the heat. Cold weather hurts my lungs! Glad you found your garmin. I’d be lost with mine!

Reply

Happy 9 month birthday Brooke!

I used to get Subway all the time before I started working from home. I usually got roast beef or chicken breast.

I don’t run a lot but I prefer mild or colder temps over hot ones.

Reply

There’s no way you eat a foot-long, right? I love either their ham or their turkey. Now I want one for dinner. I’d much rather run in freezing cold-I don’t do well in the heat. I get lost all the time, even with a GPS. I am directionally challenged :)

HAPPY 9 MONTH BIRTHDAY SWEET LITTLE BROOKE!

Reply

Of course I eat a foot long!

Lol!

I can not run in the heat, but I grew up in Saudi Arabia, and people would run there in 115* and 100% humidity, andI’m not even slightly exaggerating. Crazies.

Happy 9 months Brooke!

Reply

Nine months already?! Where did the time go?

I usually use the Map My Run app. Love it!

At Subway, I get the veggie on the herb bread. All the veggies minus bell peppers and jalapenos. Yum! I may have to have it for dinner now…

Would you rather run when it is hot. I LOVE super early morning runs!

I have never gotten lost on a run. But I also like to plan out my runs before hand.

Reply

Happy 9 months to Brooke!!!

Yay for finding your Garmin–I bet that was a huge relief :)

Reply

I don’t usually answer all your questions, but today I will!

Do you use your phone ever to track your run? Ever tried Strava before? Thoughts? I use Strava all the time, but I upload from my Garmin. I think the phone app is a little off, but you could run them both and see.

Subway lovers: What kind of sandwich do you order there? I’ve been loving their tuna lately with lots of veggies (including black olives)

Would you rather run when it is hot hot hot or freezing cold? COLD, please!! But we are currently on a six month stint in Honolulu, so I don’t know what cold is these days. There are always people out at 5:00 a.m. here, too.

Ever gotten lost on a run? Yep, that’s why I carry my phone with me.

Happy 9 month birthday, Miss Brooke!!

Reply

I am totally addicted to my Garmin! I am more of a RunKeeper girl for apps, but I actually haven’t even heard of Strava until just now!

My go-to Subway sandwich is Spicy Italian (or Italian BMT if I’m feeling rich) on flatbread with all the veggies :)

Happy 9 months to Brooke – time flies!

Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday to you…Happy 9 month birthday Dear Brooke… Happy Birthday to you!
Now onto business… I ALWAYS use my phone. I use the Nike plus app and can not imagine a run without it… That being said… I just received my GARMIN FORERUNNER 10 today. I am running with it tomorrow. OH Yeah. I plan on using the Nike app and my Garmin watch will be a reference of my time while I am running.
I do some me some Subway.. Yum. My favorite is the Tuna… During Lent. And the Spicy Italian any other time.
I would run freezing cold. I HATE cold weather but can not breathe in the summer heat while running. I usually get up and run 0500 in order to get miles in before the heat arrives..
I have never gotten lost during a run. But I never run anywhere I am not familiar. It would be cool to run a different route though! I am usually a safe susie! Ha

Reply

Happy 9 month birthday to Brooke! That is so exciting!

I always use my phone to track my runs since I haven’t gotten around to buying a Garmin. I have been hinting that I want one for the boyfriend and my anniversary. He almost had a heart attack when he began researching them and saw how expensive they are. But he knows my love for running, I may just have to wait a few months until my birthday/Christmas. Until then, I will keep using Runkeeper, which is wildly inaccurate sometimes since it said I ran 3000+ feet during my half marathon! (I didn’t.)

I usually have to run in the cold around here, so I am a wimp when it gets over 70 degrees and I have to run in the “heat.” Our humidity is insane though, so that doesn’t help when it gets too hot.

Reply

Happy 9months to Brooke! Subway = turkey + ham + swiss with tons of veggies and extra banana peppers! Also I remember being in Phoenix for work once and I had to go out running that early as well, it’s sooo hot out there!

Reply

You’re a rock star for getting out that early! It really shows how dedicated you are. Amazing!

I’ve used Strava for cycling. I have used some other running apps, but I find the pace is usually all over the place when I use an app.

I’d much prefer to run in the cold than in the heat! I got list while running in Germany this past winter. Luckily I had my phone’s GPS!

Happy Birthday, Brooke!!!

Reply

I used to use the Nike Run app but now I have my beloved Garmin! It’s super cool that Arizona has splash pads in parks. None of those in Seattle (I wonder why) ;)

Reply

Thank goodness you found your Garmin! Crisis averted! I actually use an app for all my runs since I have a Polar HRM and not a Garmin. I found it so funny, yet so smart to use your phone to find your way “home”. How did we survive w/o them!!?!

Reply

The other day was in the 60’s and I’m in shorts and a tank top! Haha! I used to frequent Subway a couple times a week but I don’t really go at all anymore. Buut, I just saw that they brought avocado back. I might hit them up soon!!

Reply

I once ran in temps near 100…. and this was before 10am.

I remember when my son was 9 months old. If you think it’s good now… you just wait… it gets even better. Today I dropped him off at daycare. As I was leaving he walked up to me, hugged my legs and then walked off to play. He’s 14 months old. He’s really starting to develop his personality and I love it!

Happy 9 Months little Brooke! I’m sure she had a great day-how could you not in that beautiful weather?!

I use my phone but it is getting harder to carry now that it’s warm out- I don’t have a pocket big enough in my shorts! I haven’t tried that app before- I use map my run. I have been lost on a run once-it was the worst because I was in an wooded area (you know the kind where they find all the bodies on Law & Order, etc). I ran super fast to get back to my car.

Reply

Happy 9 Months to Brooke!

I use Map my Run and love it. I’ve never had a Garmin. I don’t know how accurate my phone is, but it seems accurate enough :-)

I LOVE Subway. Now that they have the chopped salads, I’m in heaven. With sandwiches, I like turkey on wheat with a lot of veggies.

Definitely rather run when it’s freezing cold! I trained for my first marathon during the heart of the Chicago winter.

Yep, I just moved to a place with lots of mountains and trails…I got lost recently with my dog on a run in one of the mountains. Then my phone went out. Then I freaked out.. Needless to say, all is well, and we made it back home.

Reply

HAPPY 9 MONTH BIRTHDAY brookie!! :) sooo glad you didn’t leave your Garmin Janae!

Reply

Happy 9 months, Brooke!

I used to use MapMyRun on my phone. Then I got my Garmin! :-)

I always opt for a turkey and provolone cheese sub on wheat. All the fixings in top! But no mayo or dressings.

I would rather run when it’s freezing. I hate it but you can always add layers. You can only take so much off when it’s hot.

Reply

I use Map My Run sometimes when I run, but it really drains the battery! I would much rather run in the cold than heat. I sometimes get heat induced hives and itch like crazy, so the cold is more comfortable for me! There have been times that I probably would have gotten lost on a run if my husband hadn’t been with me. He has a really good sense of direction.

When we go to Subway, my husband and I split a foot long ham, turkey, and provolone toasted sub with lots of veggies.

Happy nine-month birthday to Brooke!!!

Happy 9 month birthday Brooke! My little girl just celebrated her 4 month birthday! I can’t believe how fast it goes…

I am a turkey and provolone girl…with spinach, tomato, cucumber, light mayo, salt and pepper. Have you had the Subway cookies? They are really delicious!

I usually use the Garmin but I misplaced my charger and have used the Map My Run App…works pretty well.

Reply

Happy 9 months Brooke! She really is the cutest!

I use Nike+ and it works okay but sometimes the GPS signal cuts out where I live (Victoria, BC, Canada) – especially down by the water which is the best place to run of course!

P.S. I really love your blog, Janae! I’ve been following it for a while now and I love your positivity everyday.

Would you rather run when it is hot hot hot or freezing cold?
I love the hot weather, however if I am running I would rather run in the freezing cold! I have not gotten lost on a run yet, keeping my fingers cross! Happy 9 month birthday!

I’ve been doing a lot of unplanned outside runs during my lunch and been leaving my Garmin at home. It feels worse than being naked!

I love roast beef and turkey sandwiches with lots of mustard and pickles!

I’d prefer to run when it’s cold….

Never gotten “lost”….I prefer to call it “exploring”! :)

Happy nine months little one!! Sending you virtual toe-tickles!!

Welcome to AZ! Yes its hot as h-e-double hockey sticks here and I’m STILL trying to adapt to a 5 a.m. run… I’ve gotten lost many a time, especially if I’m in the zone and on the canal trails. I’d much rather run in the cold, I definitely live in the wrong state!

Glad you found your Garmin!

Happy belated 9-month birthday, Brooke!!

I’m for cold weather running every single time. I melt in the heat.

I get lost on runs all the time. I run a lot of trails, and I always lose my way at one point or another.
