A weak moment.

Now this is how a picnic is done.

My good friend that I met in Hawaii then lived with in Provo and then followed out to California and I met at ‘our’ park for lunch.  She brought the sushi and Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper (yep, I try not to drink them because I easily become addicted and drink 12 a day but I could not turn it down yesterday, I was weak) and I brought the spinach/goat cheese/strawberries/nuts salad, apples and wheat thins.  I think it was the perfect spread.

Brooke’s look of determination on the swing.  She was just setting some new goals on how high she wanted to swing.

After our park hangout we went to Costco to buy some allergy medicine.  While there I went to all of the sample ladies and the last one I found was for CEREAL… clearly I had to sample it because I wouldn’t know how Cinnamon Toast Crunch tastes like.  I tried the Reese’s Puffs for the first time.  I want to do a formal review on them.   The first 10 tasted strange but then my taste buds adjusted to them and realized how delicious they really are.  I am glad I persevered.

Next stop was to help a friend clean because she is moving (I know, I am mad at her for moving) while her daughter watched Brooke.

And then a drive to the grocery just for dessert.  Good thing we have one really really close to our house because when you need ice cream, you need ice cream.

What time was your alarm clock set for today and what time did you actually get out of bed?

-Sweet obviously but when I was pregnant I was all about salty things.

What is motivating you to run today?

-I get to go with a friend!

I originally set my alarm for 5:15 today but didn’t get up until 6:15. Oops! I usually crave salty things but that ice cream looks so yummy!

I crave sweet all the time but salty when I was preggo. I set the alarm for 4:50 to workout before the babe started “talking”. 4:50 is TOOOOOOO early!

I’ve driven to the store just for ice cream before. I usually go for the Talenti gelato caramel. So good. Lately my salty tooth has been kicking in over my sweet tooth though. Not sure what’s up with that. Brooker looks so happy in all the pictures! She is going to be miss popularity in school, just wait for it.

Hey all things in moderation right? Diet coke is fine :-) I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’VE NEVER HAD REESE’S PUFFS!!! I went through a period where that’s all I ate for breakfast for like a year in high school haha. That and Nesquick. Please tell me you’ve tried it. My alarm was set for 4:40… also got to run with a friend!

I have to get up the second the alarm goes off or it’s not going to happen. Alarm went off at 5, I was up at 5. My motivation to run this week is the fact that it is my last week of marathon training before the taper begins. I did strength this morning and am running after work. It’s going to be hot today which I’m actually looking forward too. It’s finally warming up and I don’t want the warmer weather to destroy my race pace on the big day.

Your picnic sounds lovely, I wish the weather was good enough here in the UK to have one! I love picnics.

I definitely crave sweet things more than salty. I loooove ice cream, I recently discovered Ben & Jerry’s blondie brownie core…brownies, blondies, vanilla and chocolate ice cream and gooey salty caramel…I’ll be buying that from now until the end of time!

I’ve been wearing my trainers all day, so that I don’t forget to go running later. Spent the whole day cooped up at my desk studying, so I can’t wait to get out into the fresh air and stretch my legs :)

Oh man, I set my alarm for 645 this morning and it is 7:09 an I’m still laying in bed :) Oops.

I like any sweet ice cream with lots of chunks! That’s why I love Ben and Jerry’s so much.

I love choc chip icecream. My husband says he doesn’t like ice cream (really? maybe that’s why I married him, so I get more!!)

Alarm set for 5am and I got up at 6.45am – missed my morning run so had to take the 2 kids (3 and 19 months) in the pram for the run. Lesson learnt! It was so hard! I thought of you and tried to keep my form – I didn’t do that well (particularly running into a headwind)… and I have an ordinary double pram (not a running one) Bleurgh!

Sweet of course! When I was pregnant I also craved salty food. I felt sick if I ate chocolate – lucky I have returned to my normal self.

I get to run with my bestie (my running partner, my sister!) so she makes me want to get up and run.

My alarm is set for 7 am most days. I got out of bed shortly after because Bungee jumps in bed and wakes me up.

Today is a cross-training day, so no running for me!

Edy’s Limited Edition S’mores ice cream is awesome! The hubz would pick out something like mint chocolate chip or cookies and cream. I love Graeter’s brand from Cincinnati(hometown) but only when it’s on sale!
My alarm went off at 5:20 and I got up. Didn’t want to wake up the man by snoozing any longer. Had to get my weights in b/f the kids get up for school at 6:40.
I crave sweet things but especially chocolate. I have a stash of Dove Dark Chocolate and Dove Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt for those moments!
My motivation to run today is the great weather and the ability to actually run! Injuries stink and coming back from them is hard!

I LOVE ice cream…I have a bowl almost every night (good thing I run!). For a long time I was on a coffe ice cream kick!
I also LOVE diet coke and I have been trying (kind of) to give it up totally for awhile! I have to go cold turkey too…all or nothing. I usually have like 4 a day (so bad!). I keep saying once this case is gone no more but a day later I am at the store with another one :(.
I got up at 6:45 and am about to go for a run! I just love running and thta is enough to motivate me

I don’t usually buy ice cream, but if I do it’s usually a standard chocolate chip, or vanilla. My boyfriend usually goes with some strange Ben and Jerry’s flavor. Alarm clock set for 6:40, got out of bed at 7:00. 20 minutes of snoozing isn’t too bad for me!

I’m always up before my alarm which I rarely set. I was up at 430-ish this morning when the hope was to be in bed til 6.

My sweet-and-salty reality varies depending on what day it is.

Oh, and my motivation to run is based on getting home and back into the mountains. Though I am seriously considering moving here…to the land of green and rain!

I like salty, crunchy (usually greasy) things more than sugar, but I have been known to take down a jar of TJ’s cookie butter once in a while. So glad Brooke got to swing and you got a free babysitter. My motivation NOT to run today has been running the last 6 days in a row with a solid speed session last night. I am resting today!

I wake up at 6 by myself now a days. From my BF’s alarm to the kids 6 seems to be the time I will always have to get up.
We always get Ben and Jerry’s! I get Carmel Toffee and he gets Chunky Monkey.
Today my motivation is the weather! Forget the treadmill today, I’m getting out the Jogging Stroller!

I definitely crave sweet things more than salty things, and a trip to the store just to pick up dessert sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I really wish I could experiment with all the fun ice cream flavors out there, but I have an allergy to peanuts and traces of those suckers are in pretty much all the cool ice creams. Sooooo, I usually have to settle for something simple, like vanilla, but at least it makes the perfect base that let's me go crazy with toppings :)

Mint chocolate chip!! Always. My boyfriend likes to mix it up- usually something with peanut butter or toffee or something along those lines. My whole life I’ve preferred sweet over salty, but as I’ve gotten older I tend to crave salty more often now. I don’t know why that is.

How cute is Brooke, wanting attention from Billy. Spinach/strawberry/goat cheese salad is one of my faves and yours looks like it was refreshing and tasty and perfect for an outdoor picnic. I can’t believe you had never tried Reese’s Puffs cereal. It’s pretty amazing. When I do buy sugary cereal, it’s definitely one of my top 5 picks. Today is my day off so I didn’t set an alarm, but I woke up on my own a little after the sun came up.

I haven’t bought ice cream in years, but don’t let me fool you… It’s because it would be gone in 5 minutes. Man vs food wouldn’t know what to do with me. When I crave ice cream (every day) we go get froyo. With the amount we go its probably not any better bhut I’d like to think so.

I love the way Brooke is pulling on Billy, so adorable! I have been getting an ice cream from Ben & Jerry that has brownie bites in it. But I also, love Coffee Ice Cream. I usually crave salt and chocolate. Today is not a running day for me, just going to try and do the Concept2 and some strength training. My motivation is knowing that I’m helping my body get stronger and that will help me stay injury free.

My husband got me am ice cream maker for Christmas so we’ve been having fun coming up with our own concoctions lately… An Oreo/m&m mix is in the freezer currently.

Today is a cross-training day– I tried the ironstrength workout and really worked hard! Had to get up early to get it home before my daughter woke-up. Alarm at 4:45— not out of bed til 5:05… No too bad….

I used to crave salty until I was pregnant and couldn’t get enough sugar!! Om talkin Frosting by the spoonful!! That’s stuck with me so I’m always on the hunt for sweets :)

I haven’t had ice cream in so long!! My affair with froyo has been a long one. Alarm was set for 5:45 and got up at 5:47 :) The feeling when I’m done running keeps me motivated. ALWAYS craving sweets! I have an addiction to anything sweet, wanted to get rid of it, so I replaced with fruit lol

b) Alarm went off at 6 and I was out of bed by 6:15 – which is actually very good for me (usually 6:30 – 6:40). c) I crave sweet stuff all day long. d) I just had a monster breakfast at work so I need to run tonight to feel better & lose the overindulged feeling. When I go to the store to pick out ice cream, I usually choose a plain-er flavor, like strawberry or birthday cake. (Birthday cake ice cream is SO GOOD.) If I’m feeling particularly adventurous, I’ll go for one of Ben&Jerry’s flavors or try something like carrot cake. (Did you know they made carrot cake ice cream? I didn’t, until a few days ago!)

I set my alarm for 630am and was up by 7. It always takes me at least a half hour before I start to move and can function. I went on a run this morning. This is part of my routine now, so that motivates me. But I also have dinner plans tonight, so the fact that I’m going to eat a lot and enjoy myself is pretty motivating too.

Mackinac island fudge is the best ice cream flavor. Ever. Girl how had you never had Reese’s puffs?! I used to live on them! Your friends daughter looks about my age. Dinner looks delicious. Any kind of pizza is heaven.

I usually look at what brand is on sale at the grocery store and then choose from those choices. Edy’s tends to be 2 for 1, so I usually overload on ice cream…I live alone ;) I just bought Coconut Road ice cream..which is like an almond joy bar in ice cream form. Coconut ice cream, with chocolate covered coconut bits, chocolate, and caramel. YUM! Alarm was set for 6:05 and I got up at 8:30. It was raining out and my allergies were bothering me, so I figured I’d do a workout indoors today and get a little extra sleep. I love salty food… so I’m always craving the salt!

First, and foremost, YOU HAVE NEVER HAD REESE’S PUFFS!!?? don’t eat cereal often, but that is my favorite ‘treat’ cereal in the world. I have been known to put back an entire box in one sitting (that maaaaay be why I don’t eat cereal often anymore).

I love the mix of sweet AND salty. If I were rich (one day) I would only buy Ben & Jerry’s late night snack for my ice cream eating. It is vanilla bean ice cream with a salted caramel swirl and fudge covered potato chip clusters. Don’t knock it till you tried it. So good. PLUS, Jimmy Fallon is on the front of the carton…so I get to stare at him while I eat it. I couldn’t imagine anything better!

My alarm went off at 6:13 today (late for me). And that is what time I got up. I went to the 6:30 class at my gym today. Have so much fun on your run today. Running with friends is WAY better. Wish my running friends lived closer to me so we could do it more often!

Brooke’s faces are so funny. I love that look of determination!

My favorite ice creams are mint choc chip and cookies and cream. I think my husband’s are similar but he is very go with the flow about dessert, whereas I am more serious about it. Appropriately so:)

BTW- thanks for recommending the TJs Champagne Pear dressing – I finally tried it and I think I have a new favorite. Have you tried putting it over goat cheese in your salad? So good.

Your first time trying Reese Puffs?!? Craziness. I love that stuff.
The boyfriend’s first choice of ice cream is always chocolate chip cookie dough or cookies or cream. Both of which I adore so I’m good with, but once in a while I’ll prefer mint chocolate chip or Reese’s.

And Diet Dr. Pepper is one of the best diet pops out there. The only one that might beat it is Vanilla Coke Zero ;-)

I loved ice cream.. until I found out it made me sicker then sick:( but arctic zero is a good replacement, but red mango just got raspberry sorbetto that is dairy free and when we first went to have it I just HAD to bring it home in QUARTS. I dip into it every. single. day. LOVE!
No alarm today! Woot! I slept in and so did the babes! In fact they are still asleep! MOM for the WIN!
I’m a total sweet AND salty person! chocolate with sea salt? YES please!
Reeses puffs are my absolute FAVORITE!!! well next to honey nut chex..

That first pic has me hankering for some sushi! Yum! We like to buy Blue Bell ice cream when it goes on sale. There are so many awesome flavors, but my husband and I love Butter Crunch (butterfinger pieces), Lemon, Coffee, Summer Berries, and during the holidays, Peppermint. I have an adorable 1-year-old alarm clock who has been waking me up before six every morning this week. Good thing she’s so cute. Today I was motivated to run at the track because it’s a gorgeous, sunny day. My legs are still sore from a strength workout on Sunday, so I was having a hard time hitting my times. But I was still glad to get outside before starting the work day.

And my alarm was set to go off at 5:15am, as usual, but I had a really hard time sleeping last night so in the middle of the night I turned it off and got up around 5:45 (I was laying there awake…), luckily I didn’t have to be anywhere early this morning so I could shift back my schedule!

The best ice cream ever is Tillamook’s Chocolate Peanut Butter. It’s chocolate ice cream with huge swirls of peanut butter. I can’t even explain how amazing, yet simple, it is.

My alarm was set for 7:30 – I got out of bed at 7:15 (my kids are early risers, the alarm is just backup).

Sweet and salty together. Fries dipped into a shake, chocolate covered pretzels, you know, the super addictive stuff.

and when i pick out ice cream i usually get mixed stuff like caramel cone, or that mud pie looks good. my boyfriend is a chocolate addict and goes for just plain chocolate usually. or a chocolate brownie mix. he doesnt like to get too crazy though!

That is my kind of picnic :) Can’t say I’m a fan of the Reese’s Puffs though… but I am like that with all sugary cereals (I know, I am so lame)

Right now my ice cream fix is Ben & Jerry’s strawberry shortcake froyo and the hubs likes their Cannoli ice cream (it’s new… and it looks intense!) I have been craving anything sweet lately so I will probably be getting us restocked on these soon.

My alarm went off at 5:15 this morning but I snoozed it til 5:24.

Today my running motivation is my race this weekend. It’s a low-mileage week so I plan to enjoy each easy-ish run I have on my plate this week. :)

I did lots of snoozing this morning. We didn’t have to leave quite as early as usual so I drifted in and out of sleep for awhile!
Lately I haven’t been as excited about Ice Cream. What’s wrong with me?!?!?!

I always get some kind of ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate.

My alarm was set for between 4:30 and 5 (I have an alarm that wakes me up when I’m in my lightest sleep during that period…totally awesome) because I hit up a spin/yoga class this morning. Great way to start the day!

Set my alarm for 4:30 and got right up this morning -spring helps with early alarm wake-up!

Giffords Grapenut Icrecream is THE best ever created. -I think Giffords is only sold in Nothern New England and I think Giffords is the only icecream maker that makes grapenut icecream, but if you ever see it, you must try it, it’s so much better than it sounds.

I want to go on a picnic with you and your friend, because that is easily the best spread ever. Brooke does look very determined in that swing, too! :) My alarm was set for 7 and I got up at 7:20. Oops. I can’t help it, I was dreaming about Disneyland! You can’t just get up out of a dream like that!!

I have been craving salty for most of this pregnancy + sweet/tart stuff. But not chocolate or ice cream. Uber weird for me, since I love that stuff!

My alarm was set for 5:45 but I didn’t get out of bed until closer to 6. I was going to go to the gym to run but then it looked light enough outside and warmish enough so I went outside. It would have been a wonderful run except my tummy acted up like it’s never acted up before and then it was awful. I may need to do another run tonight because this morning’s just doesn’t feel like it counted.

When you go to the store to pick out ice cream what kind do you usually choose? If you have a significant other right now what do they usually choose?
I hate to say it but I hardly ever buy ice cream from the grocery store – I’m much more of a salty person, than sweet. ;-)

What time was your alarm clock set for today and what time did you actually get out of bed?
It was set for 5:15am and I got up at around 5:20… after giving a few kisses to the hubby while he pretended that he was still sleep. Lol!

Do you crave sweet things or salty things more?
Salty all the way! :-p

What is motivating you to run today?
Nada…today is a rest day and I’m attempting to see if the rest will improve my run/speed tmrw!!
-I get to go with a friend!

My alarm went off at 5:00, but I didn’t get out of bed until 5:45.

I’m a big coffee or choc/pb ice cream fan.

I ALWAYS crave salty things over sweet things. Chips are like my kryptonite.

I am working on being motivated to NOT run today. I hurt my foot on my long run this weekend, so I promised myself I would take it easy and only cross train this week.

Favorite ice cream would have to be mud pie.

Alarm went off at 5:10 and was out of bed at 5:30. This is planned. I must be able to hit snooze more than once. I’m definitely not a morning person.

I love my sweets though lately ive been having salty craving which I’ve never had before.

Right now my motivation to run comes from wanting to do well on my first half next month.

I used to have a major Diet Dr. Pepper addition, so I understand why you broke down. :) Since having a baby, I don’t need an alarm clock. He’ll make sure that I don’t oversleep!

I love peanut butter and chocolate so naturally I love Reese’s Puffs. I do find they leave a film in my mouth.

Have you had any of the girl scout cookie flavored ice cream? So good!!!

My (baby monitor) alarm went off at 4, then 5, then 6 (when I got up) hah.

My hubby and I have opposite taste in Ice cream so I usually buy his fav kind (peanut butter cup) since he’ll eat it.. if we go out I get maple walnut or mint chocolate chip.. mm.

I would love to choose cookies & cream or mud pie (like you). My S.O. ALWAYS picks chocolate.

Alarm time: 5:15 a.m. Actual “get-up” time: 5:55 :(

I always have sweet cravings…..I’ve never really thought, “Oh, chips/nuts/popcorn sound good right now….”

My motivation to run today is the desire to get 15 pounds off my frame! Too much “relationship weight” gained in the last year.

I love Brooke’s determined look! That’s prob what I look like when I’m trying to run uphill…Just not as cute. :p
I always get some combo of peanut butter and chocolate when I buy ice cream. My hubby likes vanilla (boring). I ALWAYS crave sweets! And I hit the snooze button at least 3 times before actually crawling out of bed. haha

Mmm cookie dough ice cream :) My alarm rang at 5:30 and I was up at 5:30! Go me! I ran on the treadmill. Well, that was my plan but it ended up to be a walk. I wasn’t feeling running today. I crave sweet all the way! Bring on the cookies :)

So I too have a cereal addiction.. especially cinnamon cereal, so I thought I would give you a head’s up on a couple in case you haven’t tried them. Cinnamon Chex.. worth a try, but for as much as I love cinnamon, the Honey Nut Chex is way better. Cinnamon Cheerioes… I wouldn’t even try them because the Apply Cinnamon Cheerios are that much better! Ok, I’m done :)

My alarm went off at 6:15; I got up by 6:30. Drank coffee, saw my husband off, & was riding my bike in the sunshine by 7:30.
I love ice cream, and always choose some variety of chocolate. But my husband doesn’t like it very much, which keeps me from eating it often at all, saving me who knows how many pounds gained in the last 22 years. I do have 5 kids who wish there was more ice cream in the house…
Which brings up a question I’ve wanted to ask you for a while: how do you manage to not gain weight eating all that sugared cereal and ice cream? There’s the running thing, I know, and you are still young and have only had one baby…I am slightly jealous of your snack reports, but I’ve learned I can’t get away with that anymore. Oh well, I’ll continue to live vicariously through you.
But if there is a secret, please do tell!
