The best parts of 2012

December 31, 2012

2012 has been a really good year.  Actually it has probably been my favorite year ever.  Thank goodness I have a blog that documents every moment of my life so that I can go back through it and remember everything.

And in no particular order (besides the first one is by far the best one), here are some of the best parts of my year.

1.  Brooke’s birth on August 15th.  The coolest thing ever.

2.  Our 3 year anniversary.  It was a pretty perfect day.  I was 6 months pregnant and we started the day off by running a 1/2 marathon together then we went to Jason’s Deli and spent the rest of the day in Park City.

3.  Meeting my favorite athletes at Endurance Live in LA.

4.  Finding out I was pregnant, telling you guys I was pregnant and finding out that Brooke was a girl

5.  Running San Jose RnR 1/2 Marathon 7 weeks after having Brooke and getting a new 1/2 marathon PR.

6.  Going to visit Santa Clara University and San Francisco for the first time together and feeling REALLY good about moving to Northern California.

7.  When my dad came to visit, when my mom came to visit and when my nieces and nephew first met Brooke.

8.  My birthday because I wait for it all year

and because of this cake.

9.  Meeting Jef from The Bachelorette, okay this wasn’t one of my most favorite parts about 2012 but I just wanted to remind you again that I met him.

10.  Going to NYC for Brooks Running and meeting a lot of blogger friends!

What were a few of the best parts of your year?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!

Sarah @PickyRunner December 31, 2012 at 5:02 am

Ummmm so you had a pretty crazy year! Brooke was obviously the biggest (and bestest) part of it but you had some pretty awesome runs and some even more awesome desserts in between. That cake would totally make my top 10 list of best things for the year too, hands down. I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings for you :)

I just <3 the picture of the running shoes. It's going to be awesome when Brooke can wear them and stand between you two. I hope you have those exact shoes.

Happy new year to your beautiful family! I'm running a 5k in the morning called Hair of the Dog. Isn't that funny? It's a 5k, 10k and ocean plunge. There will be a lot af crazies out there jumping into icy water – not me! :-o

Ummm, if I had a cake like that, I’d be wishing my birthday was tomorrow!! (note to self: refer hubby to this post specifically for the cake!)

We’re kinda similar – both had babies and celebrated being married for three years. Those are totally some of my highlights, too!

Your year was amazing!

I think the best parts of this year were seeing my daughter go to first grade and really start to grow into her own person, the quality time I got with her and my boyfriend, and seeing my running improve so much!

I love the joy in the pictures from your year! :) We just found out a week ago that we’re going to be moving to LA in less than 2 weeks for my husband’s new job! We also found out we’re going to be an aunt and an uncle (my BIL and SIL are pregnant!), and my SIL got engaged! It’s been a pretty event-filled awesome year for me, too! Oh, and I also ran my first and second half marathons this year! :) Happy New Year!

I LOVE this…I started reading half way through the year so I missed a lot of this – now I have things to read on the next rainy day!

Highlights of my year: Doing my first ever sub-two-hour half marathon, going to Tokyo for three weeks with my family, my parents visiting us in California and seeing the Hunger Games three times in one weekend.

Happy New Year, Janae, Billy and Brooke.

Twenty twelve has been a big year for me! I started running in April and lost 40 pounds! Your blog motivates me. Other highlights include: first family vacation to Disneyland and running two 5k races with my girlfriends.

Hopefully next year I’ll run more races and mayb a 1/2 marathon. ; )

The greatest thing that happened in 2012 was I FINALLY met my son and became a mommy :) Giving birth was an incredible experience and finally holding him in my arms and being able to look at his precious face, not just feel his kicks in my lungs and punches to my bladder was amazing. Motherhood has been incredible!!
