A very special class and morning hair.

I don’t think I will ever be able to wake up grumpy for the rest of my life when I get to wake up to this cute girl and her crazy morning hair every day of my life.

After I got up and had some breakfast I headed on over to the gym for a very special class.  See the instructor up front?  She was the very first spin teacher that I ever went to and she is the one that got me to start teaching spin.  When she first asked me to start teaching I told her NO WAY because I was so terrified.  She finally convinced me to try it just one time and after I did I fell madly in love with it.  I really need to start teaching again.

Her class is just like one huge party.  The whole time people are cheering, she tells you all about the latest celebrity gossip and you get to do awesome things like Gangam Style.   I was too busy being entertained to really be working out hard.

Man I love spin.

I came home and took a shower and when I opened up the fridge to make lunch the most beautiful sight was staring at me.  A bowl of leftover chicken chili that my sister had made the night before.  Nothing better than eating a delicious meal and the only thing you had to do to make it was put it in the microwave for 2 minutes.  I need to get a subscription to the Food Network Magazine.

It is freezing outside and yet I still force my friends to go get ice cream with me.

LOVE these girls!  Sharsti, Holly, Stephanie, Jessie, Amylee, Rachelle and Megan!!!

The usual combo of s’mores froyo and every chocolate topping (and cheesecake bites) that they have.   I don’t know what it is about this Orem Yogurtland but it really is better than the one that we have in California.  Maybe it is all of the memories I have here but I really think they just have mastered the art of making the best froyo imaginable.

Ok but really Brooke’s hair is to freakin’ cute!!
I can’t even remember the first class I took but it was probably a step class. I pushed hard for an hour of intervals on the stepmill today followed by easy pace elliptical while catching up on celebrity gossip lol.

Magazine subscription- Oxygen magazine. I’ve been reading it since 2003…wow i’m getting old.

Have a fun evening:)

Thanks Lindsey!! AN HOUR on the stepmill.. you are my hero! I need to read Oxygen ASAP!

Brooke’s hair is sooooooooo cute!

I’m not really one for classes, except for my ballet lessons – I can’t believe how much I’m enjoying ballet again!

My magazine subscriptions were a gift: Marie Claire and Instyle. I think getting magazines delivered through the door is amazing! Would love a subscription to Zest magazine – women’s fitness and healthy lifestyle. :)

Brooke’s hair is the cutest! It reminds me of my daughter’s when she was a baby. Gives me major baby fever!!! I did not work out because I fell on my face a week ago and my knee still looks like a cantaloupe. Sulking big time that I might have to go to the doctor. :(

Reply

My first group class was Zumba! A friend invited me and I LOVED it.

Today I did shoulders and abs followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill!!!

Reply

Brooke’s hair is so sweet.
My first class was probably a step aerobics class years and years ago.
I get In Style. I read People magazine at work so I don’t need to pay for that one.

Reply

Love the morning hair!!! My first group class was a kick-boxing class. I took it easy today because tomorrow I’m running a holiday themed 5k :)

Reply

Oh my cute morning hair!! Soooo adorable :) the FedEx guy just delivered our spinner bike yesterday…can not WAIT to try it out. We will be assembling it tomorrow, hopefully all the parts will get in the right places :) I have had a subscription to the Food Network Magazine since it began years ago, love it, love it, love it!! All your gushing about the Orem Yougartland has convinced me to pay it a visit instead of the Golden Spoon by Cafe Rio in Provo…I’ll let you know how it goes! Hope you’re enjoying your time back in UT :)

And i will never get tired of seeing pictures of your baby girl!!

Have fun at your sister’s bridal shower. Lots of pictures please!
My first group exercise class was the LesMills – BodyAttack. I was TERRIFIED to go. Absolutely freaked out that I’d be so “out of place”. It turned out to be soooo much fun!
I’ve yet to get the courage to get to a spin class though!

Reply

Brooke is so cute!! Would you post the recipe to that chili?? It looks delicious!!

Reply

YES!! It is so good! She made this recipe below but she didn’t add the cream cheese because we were all out!

Her hair is the BEST. I LOVE spin and when you find that teacher you like the most it is so much fun. Haven’t been in forever though. I think at this point my legs would just be pounding my big belly the entire time….

Reply

Brooke is seriously the cutest baby ever. I can’t get over it. And I can’t run so I went to spin and it was fun! And then my PT told me spin wasn’t good for my IT band… Ah!

Reply

My first fitness class was a yoga one. It was awesome and I’m definitely hooked!

Reply

Brooke and I could be morning hair matchers. Love it! I have actually only taken one fitness class ever (my current gym doesn’t even offer classes) but I want to try some out! I had a good workout and pushed myself just enough ;) And don’t worry about making everyone eat ice cream in the cold…I actually crave fro yo/ice cream more in the winter.

Reply

You need to bottle up Brooke’s hair and sell it as happy pills… definitely impossible to stay in a funk when looking at that cutie :D And I think the first group class I ever took was a step class and I was terrified… I thought I’d get lost in the routine or fall off the step, but it was a pretty good time. Definitely goes by a lot faster when you have things to gossip about ;)

Have fun at your sister’s shower!

I LOVE/hate spin (in the best way possible) but the instructor has to awesome otherwise I really really struggle!
Your yogurtland does look a lot better than the one that just opened in Raleigh.

Reply

OMG it is so weird you posted about spin today because the last time you posted about it (where you said you thought it made you a better/faster runner) made me try spin again today. I had tried it before and didn’t like it. This time I LOVED it. I think the instructor makes all the difference. The first instructor I went to was very intense and didn’t really adapt the class well for beginners. But this instructor today was the sweetest girl ever, she made me feel really welcome (she recognized I hadn’t taken her before) and she did a very good job of making the class easy to follow for people of any level. I was so thrilled after the class I even tweeted you! You, Billy and Brooke need to move to S. Cali so you can teach spin at my gym and I can take your class. There’s even a Yogurtland next door. We’re calling your name here.

Reply

I believe that the first class I ever took was Step, and then Zumba!

Reply

-The spin classes at my gym are nothing like that, but I wish they were! That sounds so fun!
-I’m subscribed to a few magazines (and I love them all): Women’s Health, Runner’s World, and Oxygen

Brooke and her hair are so cute! My first group fitness class was Turbo Kick. I LOVE that class! I recently started taking Turbo Kick again where I live now. I was so excited when I found this class.

Reply

Brooke looks so grown up in that photo! Gosh, what a cutie.
Have a great time at the bridal shower-so happy for your sister :)

My very first group fitness class was also a spin class and I remember thinking I was going to die. But then I came back again and again, forever and ever. I’m now motivated to sign up for one for tomorrow AM!

I have a subscription to Vegetarian Times and Real Simple. I want a Runners World subscription and need to keep an eye out for a good deal.

I feel like I push myself in every work out recently, since I started a new job and have to get up at 5 AM to run. Ugh it stinks some days!

Reply

haha! I wish I looked that cute in the morning!! ;)
BTW, ice cream is the best ANY time of year!! AND for any meal ;) (sometimes even breakfast) tehe! Don’t tell my husband ;)

I’m having the 3rd annual Christmas Card Swap on my blog! Signups are open until December 7th… I wasn’t sure if that was something you’d like to join in on or not :)

I get like 100 magazines but love cooking light, women’s running, and clean eating for sure!

Brooke is looking adorable as ever in her crazy hair pic!! Love that smile.

I used to go to yoga and pilates classes back when I went to a gym that offered group fitness. I’d like to get back into that soon. Tonight I ran a 5k with a friend and either tomorrow or Sunday I’m going a what will hopefully be my first double digit run… 10 miles! So excited :)

S’more flavoured fro yo- mind is blown!

I love Brooke’s hair!
I only subscribe to Running Times. I let my Runner’s World lapse – I realized I wasn’t reading most of it so I stopped subscribing.

Brooke’s hair kills me! So cute! My first class was a super awkward Tae Bo at the local YMCA. Remember Tae Bo?

Reply

Yeah! Tae Bo! That was actually a killer workout :)

I want to try Zumba / Crossfit / Spinning so bad! But just haven’t had the opportunity as of yet. Plus I am trying to find a buddy to try it with me for the first time.

I get Food Network and Martha Stewart. I wish I still had Every Day Food – but they just cancelled the magazine. :( I loved that one!

I first group fitness class was this aerobics step class that my friend and I went to when we were like 14. But I haven’t done any in years—no gym membership and I’m too cheap to pay $10 for one class.

All of my workouts are a bit of a stretch right now…but it wasn’t too hard. I’m looking forward to being able to feel a difference in intensity in my runs.

Reply

My first fitness classes were JAZZERCIZE! When I was little, my mom would take me along to her classes. They were so fun :)
I have a lot of magazine subscriptions- some for work, some for play. Work ones are Professional Photographer, and a ton of bridal magazines. It’s hard to keep on top of the bridal photography trends! I read cooking and organizing magazines for fun- I subscribe to real simple, whole living, Rachael ray, and Sunset. My aunt from Seattle got me the subscription to Sunset, even though I live in Wisconsin… So I can remember how beautiful it is there.
I also subscribe to glamour, yoga journal, runners world and Oprah, just for fun. :) I love reading!

Reply

I’m so jealous of all the fun you guys get to have at Yogurtland! I don’t know of any places near me that do froyo.

I’ve been pushing myself in my workouts a lot lately because I’ve started doing the 30 Day Shred! So hard!!

Reply

No one can pull off crazy hair quite like Brooke! :) My first group class was a kickboxing one. I loved it!

Reply

I used to be so into cardio kickboxing for years! Unfortunately we moved and I stopped going and focused on running and a little weights here and there. That’s def something I want to get back into though.

Reply

My first spin class was during my sophomore year at FSU (go Noles!) I had no idea what to expect, but ended up hooked at the end! I would love to get certified to teach one day :)

Reply

I think the very first group class I took was a yoga class, but my favorite class is spinning! It’s the only thing I miss about a gym membership. I get Runner’s World and Southern Living.

Reply

Yum that froyo looks delicious!

Reply

Ahh I can’t wait til you start teaching spin again! I need tips from you…sorry I know this post is rather old, I am just catching up ;-)
