(Brooke was too busy looking at the table next to us… they were eating chocolate cake)

It is LIZZY!  Lizzy lives in San Diego now but was up north for work so of course we had to meet up for lunch.  Lizzy is crazy fast and so it is so fun to see her again and ask her a million questions about her 90 miles per week running life.  We went to Erik’s Cafe in Santa Clara and it was pretty good.  I had the Thanksgiving sandwich which had turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce all between rosemary sourdough bread.

I wonder how many strangers I have asked to take my picture over the course of this blog.  I am estimating at least 2,000.  I have a lot of pictures of myself on here.

Brooke was pretty pooped after lunch so we went home to make sure she got a good long nap in before she went to hang out with her bff.

Each month there is a group of girls that gets together for a themed dinner.  We each bring one item to contribute to the meal.  The first themed night we did was Greek food and the last one we had was pumpkin and apple themed.

I brought the cheesy potatoes and we also had stuffing, turkey, rolls and green bean casserole.  I will never get sick of thanksgiving foods.  Just in case you want this ultra healthy dish (we call them funeral potatoes) here is the recipe from mis madre.

For dessert we had adorable little cupcakes.  It was quite the party and nothing is better than 6 girls sitting around the table and talking for hours.

Afterwards we came back to our apartment where some of the husbands were hanging out.  They went to in-n-out and ate cheesecake while watching TV.

cranberry sauce all the way! gravy is for mashed potatoes.

the last cupcake i had was moose tracks flavor! vanilla cake with a fudge swirl and Reese’s bits topped with vanilla icing. a co-worker made up a recipe for a girl’s birthday who is obsessed with moose tracks ice cream. i am eagerly awaiting the next office birthday!

I can’t wait for some thanksgiving food!

I normally just eat my turkey plain even if it’s on a sandwich.

I’ve had multiple cupcakes this past week b/c I hosted a baby shower for a dear friend last Saturday that involved cupcakes and then I made more cupcakes for my little’s one birthday party. They were all yellow with either buttercream frosting or chocolate whipped frosting. :)

Cranberry sauce! but I only eat the liquid part, not the bits of fruit (weird, I know).

And Brooke is SO cute sitting on the couch with all the big people!

I love hanging out with blogger people! Heck, they know more about my life than a lot of my friends who don’t read my blog.

Those potatoes sound amazing!

No, but we WILL hang out someday!!
and last cupcake I had was a carrot cake one.

Your sandwich looks awesome, and I’m not even a turkey eater! If I was, I would slather that baby with lots of cranberry sauce! I love cranberry sauce.
I recently pinned a similar recipe for “crack potaotes.” The recipe looks similar to yours but it doesn’t have the cream of chicken soup. I can’t wait to try them out!

I love meeting up with blogger friends in person. It’s so fun! I’ve actually met some of my closest friends online and will be forever grateful for that. :)

Gravy.
Don’t remember the last but definitely red velvet.
No.

Ok. Turkey walnut pesto at Eriks. Do it. You won’t be sorry.

No question…cranberry sauce is the best!
I think the last one I had was Raspberry Truffle. I would love a gingerbread one right now.
Yes and I LOVE it too!

Gravy, if it is homemade.
I last had devils food cupcakes. That would be just fine right about now.
Haven’t hung out with people I met blogging, yet.

I’m a gravy fan. I put it on my potatoes, turkey, and sometimes stuffing. I get a bit out of control.

I love that you have found such a great group of friends, and so quickly! You girls always do such fun things. Heck… makes ME want to move to California and hang out with y’all. Maybe I could put to use some of those delicious recipes I’ve been pinning for the last year :)

I’ve never had cranberry sauce. I can’t get over the consistency of it. It looks like Jello….and I hate jello. lol.

I made some apple pie (snickerdoodle cake, homemade apple pie filling, salted caramel buttercream) and pumpkin cupcakes (pumpkin cake, caramel filling, cream cheese frosting) last weekend to bring to the office. What a HUGE hit. People are telling me I should start selling them. I would LOVE to be able to do that.

I want to open a gym and cupcakery in one. lol.

Mmm love the potato recipe! May have to use that for our thanksgiving dinner:)

I love Liz’s blog!! That lunch looks delish

I am a big fan of cranberry sauce – my mom makes it homemade with bits of orange rind and whole cranberries, its soooo good. My favorite thanksgiving food is Sweet Potato casserole though – sweet potatoes pureed with maple syrup and cinnamon topped with a butter/walnut/brown sugar crumble.. pretty incredible, probs because its mostly sugar

I loooove thanksgiving sandwiches!!! They’re my favorite! And I prefer cranberry on my turkey, with a little mashed potato. It all has to be in one bite!

Funeral potatoes FTW!!! There’s a place in Salt Lake that has FRIED FUNERAL POTATO BITES! Ridiculous.

I went to see Breaking Dawn last night with a friend and it reminded me of when we met at the premiere last year!! So much has happened in a year, crazy!!

Any idea where your friend Lizzie dress is from…I love it!

First off..the look on Billy’s face in the last picture when he’s looking at Brooke…so sweet I teared up. Nothing like dads and their little girls.

Cranberry sauce on turkey. Love it!

I wish I was eating an Oreo cupcake from a cute little bakery in my town. I’m drooling thinking about it.

Reply

Cranberry sauce, right now I wish I was eating a chai tea cupcake!

Cranberry sauce, hands down. I’ve actually never really liked gravy, not even on mashed potatoes. And I’ve only ever had the chance to meet one blogger when I took a trip down to the States. I’m pretty sure I live in blogger no-man’s-land because there don’t seem to be any of them around here. Oh, and right now I could definitely go for a chocolate cupcake… even though it’s only 8:30 in the morning.

Reply

I want to have a blogger meetup! You always have so much fun, I’m super jealous ;) I could go for pretty much any kind of cupcake right now. Yes, it is 10:30am and no I have not eaten anything yet today. But I might as well start with a nice jumbo oreo cupcake!!

Reply

That thanksgiving sandwich sounds amazing! May need a little trip down to Santa Clara!

I always go for red velvet cupcakes. We don’t get red velvet cake in the UK…it’s my Favourite thing about the US!!

Reply

I’m not really into cranberry sauce or gravy (I know, the horror!) so I’d just like turkey with stuffing on a sandwich. Those are my two favorite parts of the thanksgiving meal anyway, well besides the pumpkin pie!

And no, I’ve never hung out with anyone I’ve met through blogging but hopefully one day I will!

Reply

It’s too hard to pick between cranberry sauce and gravy! The last cupcake I had was a caramel apple cupcake, but I believe I will be enjoying some red velvet ones for my sister’s birthday tomorrow!

Reply

Gravy on the turkey and cranberry sauce on the stuffing. OMG, soooooo good!!!

Reply

Mmmm thanksgiving food! SO delicious! Call me disgusting but I put both on my turkey. The more the merrier?!

And my last cupcake was … I am drawing a blank. Clearly I need more cupcakes in my life. I have been craving carrot cake lately so a carrot cupcake with the cute little icing carrot on top! So good.

Reply

-She looks so adorable sitting up on the couch with adults! Cute.
-I don’t like cranberry sauce or gravy, but I like turkey plain! with some mashed potatoes on the side, of course :)

Reply

Definitely gravy on my turkey! BUT when it comes to the turkey leftover sandwiches, I love a big glob (yes – glob) of cranberry on the sandwich!! The last cupcake I ate was in AUGUST (wayyyy too long ago) for my dad’s birthday! I made coconut cupcakes with a creamcheese coconut frosting!

Reply

The theme night idea is great!

aw I’m so jealous of bloggers that get to meet up! I haven’t done that yet, but definitely hope to one day!

Reply

I can’t even remember the last time I had a cupcake, a travesty, I know! I would love to have a red velvet cupcake or anything with peanut butter in it. Mmmm I think I need to find me a cupcake shop!

Reply

I don’t put gravy or cranberry sauce ON my turkey, but I put both on my plate so I can rotate between the two. Nothing better than having a bite of turkey with gravy and then a bite with cranberries. Obviously, when it comes to food I can’t make decisions between deliciousness. The last cupcake I had was a Pinterest-inspired pumpkin cupcake with maple syrup frosting (we also made pumpkin snickerdoodles that were to die for). I even made the pumpkin puree myself :D

Reply

Aww…lovelovelove me some Lizzy! Blogging buds are the best and even more fun to meet in person…

I love turkey mixed with stuffing ONLY!!!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Reply

The last cupcake I had was a banana nut w/brown sugar frosting. But, I kind of want to try a maple bacon cupcake. I experimented last night with caramel bacon rice krispy treats which need a tweak here and there, but otherwise … define.

With that said, I think I just need a plate of bacon.

I LOVE Thanksgiving food! Turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole- I LOVE IT ALL!!! I am not much for cranberries though.

The last cupcake flavor that I had was chocolate chip pumpkin muffins- not really a cupcake but it sure tastes like a cupcake. Now that I am talking about them I may have to whip up a batch. They are so yummy!!!

I have yet to meet anyone through blogging. I am addicted to following blogs and have been for over a year now. I have jumped on board and just started my own blog. I can’t wait to meet people through blogging. I feel like I know so many of you by following your blogs. Someday I hope to meet up!

Turkey…yes with both gravy and cranberry sauce. Man, I love Thanksgiving.
I love Cupcakes. It doesn’t matter what flavor, but I think the last flavor I had was Red Velvet. Sooooo sooooo good. I’m dying right now.
YES! I met a girl I know through blogging a few times. We’ve run a couple races together. She’s awesome and I look up to her so much. She’s my inspiration.

Love cranberry sauce…there is just something about the sweet and savory. I can’t even remember my last cupcake flavor, but my favorite cupcake shop has a new flavor….cranberry pistachio and I’m dying to try it. I’ve never met up with any blog friends, but I would love to.
