My go-to run and I broke something again.

Another 7 mile run this morning.  7 is kind of my go-to number lately.  I don’t know when I will be able to actually follow a training plan because my training just goes according to Brooke’s nap schedule but I can usually get in about 7 miles before she wakes up and insists sleeping while being held by her sweaty mom.

RIP my straightener and curling iron all in one.  I have had this wonderful thing for 3 years and today it finally gave up trying to survive through the many times that I drop it each day.  My mom found the Instyler through an infomercial and both my sister and I love it.  Until I can learn how to not drop things and get a new one, my hair will be in a ponytail.

Brooke and I are off to go meet some friends for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen so I better try to get a shower in but first….

Added Friday Bonus:  When I went to Target yesterday I walked up and down the cereal aisle in remembrance of my FMW and I saw this incredible flavor.  Once this whole metal in the cereal thing blows over you better believe I will be trying this cinnamon roll flavor.

Double added Friday Bonus (I have no idea why I am calling these two things Friday Bonus):  Billy got these at Costco.  Why are miniature items so much cuter than the original sized items?

I really need to learn to love sparkling water.

My perfect # these days is 3. Not too much but not too little and perfect before a buys day of work!

My go-to lately is 15km, so 9.3 miles. Two months ago, it was definitely 7 miles. I like that it’s moving up . :)
I’m a fan of miniature sized items. They have the most personality!! (I might be a bit biased on this matter … haha. I kind of fit the bill).
Do you have a stock of FMW or is this drought going to be hitting you hard? Probably key to let your readers know in case we need to watch for withdrawl symptoms. ;)
Have a great weekend.

Friday night plans are watching baseball and eating all of the calories I earned on my 10 mile run!
5 miles has become my go to. Which is amazing for someone who struggled past 3 not that long ago.
No.
I remember ordering P90, Bare Minerals, Tae Bo. I am tempted every time I see Insanity.

My go-to lately is a 2.83 mile hilly trail loop…I just do it as many times as I have time for. Sometimes I can add on little spurs when I don’t have time to do a whole ‘nother one.

Ha! My stepdad once got the Ginsu knife off the infomercial! It really does cut through a can!

If you’re asking about my go to number for runs – it’s 4 miles. With 3 babes it seems all I can get in is 30 minutes between everything so 4 miles it is. If you’re asking about my go to number on desserts – it’s 7. Definitely 7.

The recall is only for the original and unsweetened orignal bite size- so the cinnamon one should be ok!

Love Brooke’s cheeks- so plumpy!

Ah mini-anything gets me every time!!! I’m so jealous you are going to CPK. I love their Moroccan chicken salad but their Pear Gorgonzola Pizza is pretty bomb too :)

Reply

Everything mini is always better. There is no argument against that. I had FMW’s this morning :) So funny you have the inStyler, I remember that infomercial and always thought it wouldn’t work in real life. Guess I was wrong! Can’t say I’ve ever bought anything from an infomercial but my mother–in-law has a habit of that haha

Reply

I love mini things! So much cuter!

I have never been to CPK but i really want to try it!

Were gutting pumpkins with the kids tonight and carving them with my family tomorrow!

Have a great weekend, Janae!

GL to you this weekend! The Nike Women’s race sounds like it will be fun :-)

I love CPK! Their pepperoni pizza is good with the whole wheat crust and also their small plates are yummy…they have a greek plate with hummus, pita bread and this little mini greek salad! Tasty!

Have a fabulous weekend!!

I’m afraid of informercials! At CPK I love their cheesy pizzas or the mushroom one… I have a route that I like that is 6.6 miles. Perfect for before work. :)

I got “the firm” off an infomercial and it did not deliver. Also safety can and an an roller which I loved.

San Pellegrino is SO good. I drink it when I’m trying not to drink wine, in a wine glass. I drank it a LOT when pregnant.

I can’t remember the last time I had a Friday night plan. Tonight involves more Netflix episodes of Biggest Loser 13 (I love it), catching up with my husband and packing for my weekend half marathon in wine country. Not a bad night, come to think of it.

My Friday night plans are extremely low key tonight. When my bf gets home from work, we’re going to make some pasta for dinner, then probably have some wine and play video games. We’re nerds, what can I say!

Reply

I agree, little things are always cuter. My go to is currently a 5k while I slowly build up miles, short and sweet. Tonight hanging out with friends that are in town :)

love california pizza kitchen! i will eat anything on the menu. i think i tried that FMW a while back and actually didn’t like it…nothing beats the original! and speaking of mini, i’m convinced the mini wheats are better because you get more frosting on them.

Reply

6 is my go to, but I love 8 milers. :)
Mmmm, FMW! I am on such a kick lately. Can’t get enough!

Reply

I love CPK.
Usually the minimum I run is a 5k.
My husband broke his tooth yesterday so we’re off to the dentist in a bit. Our exciting Friday night will probably involve milkshakes & smoothies.
Look at us go!!
Have fun.

My go-to is 5, it’s the most I can fit in on my lunch break and I really love running during the day.
Friday plans are to celebrate the fact that this morning I found out I passed the bar exam!!! Whoo hoo!

OMG!!! I am a hairdresser and I swear by my In-Styler!!! However, I only use it on myself as I have curly curly hair and it totally rocks to straighten it with body. One of my clients actually gave it to me for Christmas about three years ago. Sweet gal eh??
Friday nights are my sacred “me” time. My husband is almost always working so it usually involves a glass of wine(or two but not too many as I usually do my long runs on Sat. morning at 4:30 am) While the wine consumption is taking place it’s Say Yes to the Dress!!!
Six miles is my go to run right now. I have a full next Sunday and then a 50K on Nov. 17. (What the hell was I thinking?)
Best of luck this weekend. That is a race I would LOVE to run sometime. Wish it was a tad closer to Michigan. ;)
Happy Weekend!!!

I was just looking through my marathon pics and found the ones my mom took when you and billy came and ran with us. Loved that!!! What’s your email? I want to send a few to you. You’re the only reason why I am running while pregnant! I think “janae did it so I can too!” :)

I have a total love for infomercials – but I’ve never bought anything off of one!

5 is my go-to mileage right now.
SO sad about the FMW recall! I hope it’s okay soon…for your sanity!

I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything off infomercial? Oh wait, that skin thing? A long time ago-when my hormones went crazy & made me break out.

Have fun at CPK!!

Friday night plans include leftovers for dinner, sweats, and watching The Five Year Engagement with my hubby… Love having relaxing nights in :). I’ve had the cinnamon roll FMW and they are sooooo good!

Reply

I live my instyler too! I got mine at Target! My Friday night plan is “me time” with a chick flick! I love Friday nights!

Reply

I’ve tried those cinnamon bun FMW and they’re absolutely fabulous… you’re going to love them :D And I totally agree that mini sized things are so much better. Even though it’s annoying having to go back and forth and crack open like 4 bottles to get a proper drink, it still somehow feels better :D

Happy Friday, girlie!

I have been on the go none stop for the last couple of days. Tonight I have the house to myself and I plan to enjoy the quiet!

I love California Pizza Kitchen! I always order the Pear + Gorgonzola pizza. It is the absolute best!!

I have never gotten something off of an infomercial, but… I really want the Magic Bullet blender!

When I go to CPK I always get the BBQ Chicken Salad..yum!

I got the Magic Bullet off an infomercial..I LOVE it!

Hope you, Brooke and Billy have an awesome night!

Love CPK! I think their original BBQ chicken pizza is my favorite. And it’s so easy to re-create at home!

Reply

7 is my number right now, too! I’m doing a couch to 5k, and just ran 7 minutes today :) (do not judge- baby steps is the name of the game!!) and OMG those cinnamon roll FMW’s are amaaaazing!!!! Seriously, once this thing blows over, you really need to try them! Yum yum yum. I ALWAYS get bbq chicken pizza at CPK- it’s the best! Tonight, Zack and I are watching a Harry Potter movie :) Love movie nights!!

No matter how hard I try, I can’t get into sparkling water. It’s too weird for me. But good luck ;)

Reply

I love that flavor of Mini wheats too. And the strawberry one, because it makes the milk strawberry flavor & normally I do NOT drink cereal milk (EW), I love when it’s strawberry.
I’m sorry you broke your instyler :( That is so good. Maybe you could find one similar on sale?? I know they are still like $99 here :/

Reply

I haven’t been to CPK in years but friends and I would always split a salad before we got our pizzas. I can’t remember what it’s called but it was Si good! It had little pieces of that salami type meat in it… Totally blanking.

Reply

oh myyy that picture of brooke!! SOOO CUTE!!

It was only available through infomercial many many years ago, but I bought Pro-activ off the tv! And now, it’s everywhere. I’d like to say I was ahead of my time. haha!

Reply

Oh my…Brooke looks like Curly in this picture :) How adorable!

Reply

I have worked at a few CPKs on and off throughout the years, and l got free food daily, and let me tell you-I still love their food and crave it on a regular basis. The pear and Gorgonzola pizza is amazing-sweet and savory-YUM!!!!

Reply

Oh, and Katie is thinking of the Chopped salad!

Reply

Omg I wanted that Instyler so bad in college, but it was too expensive for my broke budget!! I’m looking for a new hair straightener/curler now though. Does it work like it does in the infomercials??

Reply

Go with the training schedule like that! It works! Still so so so amazed at your performance post baby. Enjoy the NWM–the atmosphere will be unreal!! I must meet Brooke soon–beautiful baby!

Reply

Friday night plans involve my Mom spending the night and my boyfriend cooking us salmon on the grill. So fun! I just started liking sparkling water. I’m 31 so there is time for you yet : )

Reply

o my gosh, i bought those mini cinnamon mini wheats this week and, well, i don’t want to tell you how [little] much time they lasted. btw they are not affected by the recall!

i had actually gone to the store for FMW (no thanks to you-ha! i had a craving for them!) but saw that FMW were recalled so i got these instead :)

Reply

Infomercials are awesome, especially late at night! I’m fascinated by the Instyler. You can get buy one get one free now for 15 bucks!!
My go to lately has been maybe 4 miles. My PF has evolved into something to do with nerves and it makes me “nervous” haha. I have a NP friend that keeps telling me to go get an MRI – but you know how much fun having injuries are..and I’d just rather ignore it.
Today I drove to Colorado Springs and I’m here to be with my non-biological daughter while she has her baby!! I’m privileged enough to be able to step in for an absent mom and she is the best! By Monday I should be smelling and cuddling a new baby! WOOT!

Reply

The same goes for cupcakes…same batter or not, why do they taste better than regular slices of cake??

Reply

I can’t remember the last time I straightened my hair. I have taken to showering at night, sleeping on wet hair and just fluffing my wavy hair in the morning and going. Love it! So much easier!

Reply

Yum, I love the BBQ salad at CPK too, and I loooove sparking water!

Reply

Tell me about this purple headband! None of mine hold my hair back…

It is from lululemon and it is incredible!

I am really happy you can get runs in with a 2 month old. Lord knows I tried but it mine was not a napper. Actually he didn’t sleep through the night until 20 months! Yes, 3.5 hour increments of sleep for me for almost 22 years. But, now that I am pregnant with number 2, Brooke gives me hope that I will get some rest/running time this time around. Anyway, that’s awesome. Also awesome, jogging strollers. A lot of people sell cheap ones on craigslist. It’s just nice to get out sometimes and run in the sunshine.!

Reply

This is a late one, but the instyler is on a Living SOcial deal from St. Paul, MN. I am thinking about getting one….thought you might want to since yours pooped out. :)
