My favorite picture ever and the best fro-yo topping ever.

October 31, 2012

Happy Halloween! It is one of the best days of the year and I hope you enjoy every second of it.  Brooke and I are going trick-or-treating TWICE today so you know I am going to have a good day.

Yesterday morning my cutest friend texted me that she had an urge for fro-yo and knew that I was the perfect fro-yo companion.

Photo 3

I requested Yogurtland because I heard a rumor that they now had White Chocolate Macadamia Crunch.  By far the best fro-yo topping that I have ever had.  I definitely go the chocolate route when it comes to fro-yo.

Photo 1

Looking back on the situation, I feel kind of cruel because I was teasing Brooke by placing this beautiful cup of sugar right in front of her.  Mother of the year award.  I will make it up to her today.

Photo 2

We ran some errands, hung out outside (Brooke’s favorite thing in the world to do) and spent a lot of time in the kitchen getting dinner ready.  Still eating leftovers from Sunday night’s soup party but I tried to fool Billy into thinking it was a brand new dinner by making some Bisquick biscuits on the side.  I have a severe love for any and all condiments.  Every food I eat has to have some kind of condiment with it.

DSC 4706

Billy had to leave again right after dinner and once Brooke fell asleep I sunk into the couch, watched some FNL and had some of the most amazing caramel corn that my friend made.  If you are looking for a good caramel corn recipe look no farther… she used this one HERE!

DSC 4709

I would like to present to you my all-time favorite picture of Brooke.  When I texted this picture to Billy I said, “We sure have a beautiful baby” and he replied, “I know, I am sorry, it is all my fault.”

Anyone going trick-or-treating with their kids today?

At what age did you stop going trick-or-treating for yourself at?

-I will probably loose some friends if I tell you.

Condiment lover?  Favorite condiments lately?

When was the last time you went to fro-yo?

-I know you aren’t going to believe me but the last time I went before yesterday was SIX weeks ago.  In Utah I used to go every other day.

I saw that pic of Brooke on your IG and nearly died. She is gorgeous!
No trick or treating for me today. I think I’m getting too old and don’t have any babies to take around (and steal candy from). Dang it! I’ll just have to go to stores tomorrow and buy bags for myself when it all goes on sale! ;)
I just went for froyo last week and it was heavenly. I think of you every time I go!!

My 18 month old and I (37 weeks pg, hurrah!) are going as pumpkins tonight. My husband asked if we are trick or treating or just hanging out with our friends and i just stared at him blankly. Baby, costumes, pregnant, favorite holiday…what do you think?
And yes, I was probably a senior in high school when I stopped. I’m guessing some people frown upon that!

Oh I love that picture of Brooke!

I have got go make your soup. I’ve been trying to eat very healthy recently but soon I ill have to make it as a splurge meal bc I will want 2 bowls!

My kids are so excited about trick or treating!! My girl is 5 and my boy is almost 3 so they are at a fun age. :)

What a great picture of little Miss Brooke! She looks like such a happy baby!

1. Nope, no trick-or-treating for me. I’ll just swipe some of my nephew’s candy later this week. :)

2. I don’t remember how old I was when I quick trick-or-treating…maybe 12?

3. I love, love, love condiments! Like you, I pretty much add them to everything I eat. Hot sauce is probably my #1 go-to; I love Tapatio and Sriracha, but I just discovered green Tabasco sauce and I couldn’t love it anymore than I already do. It’s spicy (a little milder than regular Tabasco), but it also has that great tang you’d great from something like pickled jalapenos. I love it on everything from soup to pizza to tuna salad. I’m also kind of obsessed with that hot Chinese mustard you get with takeout. I can’t eat fried rice or egg rolls without it anymore.

4. We actually don’t have a fro-yo place in my area — how crazy is that?!

Reply

Lauren October 31, 2012 at 5:21 am

Oh my, white chocolate macadamia nut does sound like the best fro-yo topping. I usually go with some kind of chocolate and coconut but I’ve also been digging sea salt.

My heart just melted when I saw that picture of Brooke on IG… she’s a cutie for sure. Hope you guys have an awesome time trick-or-treating! :D I honestly think I was in high school the last time I went  So maybe like… 14 or 15? And mother of the year award would go to me because I can’t wait to have kids so I can take them trick-or-treating and then steal all the candy ;)

I can’t remember when I stopped trick or treating. It’s always SO cold here on halloween, so I’m pretty sure I wussed out at a young age.

I can’t wait to see pictures of Brooke trick or treating.

Nicole@TheKidlessKronicles October 31, 2012 at 5:47 am

Not going trick or treating and I stopped probably going into middle school.
Favorite condiment lately is salsa. Does ranch dressing count?
Fro Yo a couple of weekends ago. Sounds good right now!

People are wierd here. They don’t trick or treat on Halloween. This year trick or treating was on this past Sunday. I don’t understand this. No one will be out tonight. I don’t have kids yet but if I did I’d be really disappointed.

It feels like I haven’t had froyo in ages! But if we’re being honest, it was probably last week. I’m a sucker for it. I always go the chocolate route, too. No fruit on my froyo, please! ;)

Reply

We had fro-yo a few weeks ago, but have snow here now and its cold so I have not been in the mood to go for it lately!
Brooke is too adorable!

Reply

She is just precious.

Also, your froyo posts always make me craze froyo like a crazy. I haven’t had any in MONTHS. Please make Billy share a frozen yogurt cup with you the next time you go to Costco. The flavors are boring, but they give you more than one person could ever finish for $1.25. (That’s a premise, not a challenge!)

Is salad dressing a condiment? If so, tomato bacon salad dressing is my fav right now.

Happy Halloween! I actually quit when I was in 6th grade. A bunch of my friends and I went out that year, and we had a few people that wouldn’t give us candy because they said we were to old! It’s been far too long since I’ve had frozen yogurt. I may have to remedy that situation this weekend!

I’m so sad that Halloween isn’t celebrated in France! It’s depressing to see everyone’s costumed party pictures on facebook.
I trick or treated when I was 16, and felt like a total loser when I knocked at a random house, and there was a house party going on with people from my class! That was my last time trick or treating…

I’m definitely too old to trick or treat and since I don’t have any babies I will be handing out candy to a bunch of cuties. Our neighborhood has TONS of trick or treaters so we sit on the front porch with hot cocoa and give out candy and mingle. I haven’t had fro-yo in a while but now I really want some…maybe I will sub the hot cocoa for fro-yo tonight ;)

deirdre @ Oh Well Whatever October 31, 2012 at 6:37 am

Awe she is so darn cute, good job you guys. Yes Ryleigh is 21 months so tonight will be our first try and trick or treating. She is going to be a giant triceratops dinosaur and has been practicing her rawr which sounds more like she is gargling. Should be interesting. Oh and we don’t really let her have much sweets so I am sure she will be in a sugar comma or spin in circles for 30 minutes or something crazy.

Probably stopped at around 13 or so, don’t really remember.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I love Halloween, it is awesome. Especially when I only let the trick or treaters take ONE piece of candy each so that I have leftovers for myself.

Little Brookie is the cutest baby.

I also <3 condiments – my all time favorite is ketchup of course but I LOVE all condiments, sriracha is one of my bigtime go-tos as well! And chocolate. Chocolate goes well on everything.

Reply

Sarah October 31, 2012 at 7:09 am

I noticed you hadn’t been in a long time! I miss froyo. I go in waves… I’ll go a million times one week and then I won’t go for a month. It’s a serious issue that I need to work on. And you’re right- Brooke is the cutest baby ever.

Reply

natalie @ southern fit foodie October 31, 2012 at 7:13 am

Okay, I’ve been wanting to tell you for a while that I really think Brooke does look like Billy! She is a gorgeous little princess!

I love condiments too – but I don’t think I can pick a favorite. It depends on my mood. I would say sriracha and chocolate are in the top choices.

I had a froyo date last Wednesday with my friend Amy. Today I’m having an ICE CREAM date with another friend – we are going to BR to have the pumpkin ice cream. :)

I had fro yo last Friday. I get it about as often as you used to. I have noticed you don’t go as much. Are you moving on? Is fro yo no longer your fave?

I trick or treated until I got married and ross told me I was too old. Pffft. Luckily only 2 yrs went by before we had Annabelle and I started taking her. I take the kids out while ross stays back and hands out the candy. So in my 29 yrs I have only missed 2 yrs of trick or treating. :)

Brooke is gorgeous. The end.

I was reading about it last night and wondered if it might be a good option while taking time off from running. Sounds super boring though. Way worse than a treadmill.
