Just some things I have been thinking about….

DSC 3734

(We are working with her on smiling for the camera instead of yawning)

I am so used to rocking Brooke that I do it even when I am not holding her.   People give me really weird looks as I am swaying back and forth with no baby in my arms.

I am obsessed with sleeping on my stomach now.  I missed that so much and I actually think about how excited I am to sleep on my stomach throughout the day.  It is so comfortable.

DSC 3563

Yep, I actually wake my daughter up from naps because I start to miss her when she sleeps for too long.

Photo 2 1

Yes, yes and yes:

Photo 1 2

She is one month old today and I actually can’t remember what I did everyday before her?  I must have been bored silly.

DSC 3660

The combination of breastfeeding and running is fun because who wouldn’t want to eat 4,000 calories a day?

She is the most easy going baby ever.  She just goes with the flow and doesn’t mind that we take her all over the place.

Baby Einstein is actually pretty fun to watch.

She is incredibly happy in the morning which puts me in the best mood no matter how many times we get up in the night.

We like her a lot.

I remember the days of swaying with empty arms and then realizing my arms were empty! So funny!

She is such a beauty. I am so glad you are enjoying it all so much!

I will never get tired of Brooke pictures!!! She is just so cute!!

I like her a lot too (:

From the bottom of my heart Janae I can not wait to see this little lady grow up through the blog to be just like her parents (:

Yep. It’s seriously enjoyable. Also, don’t all women sway without thinking after they’ve had a baby? My baby is 15 and I still sway. It’s part of us I think.

I LOVE sleeping on my stomach-even more so after every baby I have! It is seriously the best way to sleep. Especially when I am sprawled out and my husband is falling off the bed. : )

Isn’t it funny how when you are young you can’t imagine having a child, and then when you have one, you can’t imagine life without them?! At least that how it is for me! I totally didn’t know what I was missing and I am so thankful for that change in my life!

I am just so excited for you and your running. You gave me the boost I needed to pack up my 3 kids while my hubs is out of town and go to the gym tonight. My baby girl has been sick for 2 weeks, I have been sick for one, and my husband has been out of town off and on for the last few weeks, so I haven’t been getting in all the running I have wanted. But tonight I thought… If Janae, who just had a baby yesterday, can run 5 miles, so can I! Thanks for your inspiration girl!

So cute!!! I remember standing in line at the grocery store and found myself swaying like I was rocking a baby. I loved it!

She is the absolute cutest! Her facial expressions crack me up! And you look AWESOME for being 1 month post birth, WOW! When I have kids I want to look that rocking right after birth too!!

I missed sleeping on my stomach when I was pregnant so badly -definitely 1st thing I did when I got home from the hospital.

I want to eat 4,000 calories a day. Actually i wouldn’t be surprised if I did.

I love how in love you are with Brooke. Being a new mom was hard for me with my 1st (granted, she was NOT an easy baby) but you just make the most adorable mom. You you have such a great attitude. Brooke is so lucky to have you. But she us pretty dang cute, so I guess that makes it even ;)

Oooh… the baby sway! I remember doing that while standing in line at the grocery store sans baby. I love seeing Brooke’s adorable pics… reminds me so much of my daughter at that age. It’s great that you are soaking up every second with her! Are you pkanning on being a stay at home mom?

That last image I so totally see Billy!

My daughter is 20 months and I still miss her terribly every time I put her to sleep. I am so happy for you, being a Mom is undescribably the most perfect gift ever!

I totally do the swaying thing too. Ha!

Baby Einstein can be mesmerizing. We had it on one night before Clara went to bed. About 5-10 minutes after we got her down we realized we were both sitting in the living room still just watching Baby Einstein in a zombie like trance. Ha. We are totally cool.

LOVE Brooke’s hair and expressions!

That last picture is too freaking cute.

When I used to babysit for a newborn, we’d watch baby einstein to help her sleep. They really aren’t that bad :)

Okay, truth, I dont usually think babies are that cute…but Brooke is adorable!! Seriously she is already a little beauty :) And you guys seem like such great, sweet, loving parents! When I read your blog I get excited about when my hubby and I have a baby (probably not for a couple years, but really surprises happen.) Reading your blog is a great way to make me smile in the morning.

Well, I usually think Brooke looks like Billy…BUT — in some of these pictures the shape of her eyes and crinkle under her eyes looks like Curly!!! So incredibly cute (both of them, obviously :)).

Brooke is SO insanely adorable!!! I love her faces! I’m 37.5 wks pregnant (with our first) so this makes me so excited to meet our little baby bear. Congrats so much and I really admire your positive attitude!! Running has gotten really hard for me this week (for the first time really this pregnancy)…. so I’ve resorted to doing the elliptical. But… I cannot WAIT til I get back to stomach sleeping AND running! ;)

Hahaha u made me laugh with the swaying in one spot thing! I did that all the time after I had my first. So funny.
I’m so happy u have an easy going baby! Mine had colic for 5 months and I couldn’t even leave the house bc he would scream and scream everywhere we went. I’m hoping this one (due Nov2) is like Brooke.

Just curious how the breast feeding is going with running? Do u find its uncomfortable?

Stephanie September 13, 2012 at 7:31 am

I’m so glad you “like her a lot!” :) She is so adorable, I love the faces! It is funny how life before baby seems meaningless. Not really meaningless but you know what I mean. And it seems you have figured out what I meant when I told you that the happiest time in my whole life was when I had my first baby and we got to hang out and play all day :) I’m so happy for you!! I’m so glad you get to run again too…yay!!!

Haha! The “no baby sway”, as my mother in law calls it is so true. I do it all the time and I don’t even have a little baby anymore. My mother in law still does it too so I guess once you become a mom, you just naturally always think you have a baby in your arms. Brooke is a doll! I love all her hair! Both of my boys were born bald as can be.

You are amazing, Janae. I can’t even imagine being up with a newborn and still having the desire to run. I was up all night with a feverish toddler and I kept thinking, there is no way I am going to the gym, but now, I feel super motivated to get there :)

Reply

Candice September 13, 2012 at 9:23 am

Janae,
You seem so happy! Without even knowing you, seeing these pictures of Brooke and your family–and how well and happy you all seem–makes me happy. Thank you for sharing your lives a little bit, it gives me some vicarious baby-joy that I don’t have myself!

Jessica Washburn@sweatismysanity September 13, 2012 at 9:55 am

I can totally relate with the constant swaying/rocking and missing sleeping on your stomach. That was one of the hardest things about being pregnant for me. Brookes yawn picture is the best and I think in that one where she’s laying on the floor, she looks just like Billy.

Amanda September 13, 2012 at 9:57 am

Love this and feel the same way about my baby. A sleepless night is forgotten when you see a baby smile in the morning..What a blessing to have an easy baby, but in some ways, it’s clearly because of the loving environment she’s in that she is this way.
