Top 8 Reasons Why……

June 1, 2012

yesterday was awesome.

1.  My sister sent me this picture of Curly before her ballet dress rehearsal last nightl.  My sister told Curly that she wanted to take a picture of her before they left and my niece did this dramatic pose naturally.  I really wish you guys could know her in real life, she is hilarious.

2.  I got a library card.  They even let me choose what print I wanted on it and you can never go wrong with a T-Rex.

Photo 1

3.  While sitting in the library parking lot Billy threw out the idea to eat at Cafe Rio for date night.  (PS this was only 1.2 hours after waking up from a nap hence why my eyes are still closed).

4.  Billy randomly found these gift cards.  I guess I know where I am going for lunch today.

5.  This happened and I am not sure how or why.  You can tell it is Billy just by his weird bendy big toe.

Photo copy 2

6.  Billy used the stud finder on my belly…turns out our little one is going to be a stud.  Even I think I am lame after writing that.

7.  We started Arrested Development from the very start for the 9th time last night….this show will be amazing no matter how many times I watch it.

8.  We stayed up late because we both get to sleep in today, Billy only has school for a few hours, I get to run and I only have one driving test to do.

Tell me a reason why your Thursday night was awesome?

Any dancers reading?  Did you ever take dance lessons?

Do you ever go to the library?

When you say, “I stayed up late”… what time does that mean?  I just want to see if my perspective on ‘late’ is messed up.

Becky Przy June 1, 2012 at 5:50 am

Curly sure does have a flair for dramatics;-) What a cool library card–we just have plain ones…I love going to the library!

My idea of ‘up late’ is messed up. I am a morning person, but I work late (10 p.m.) so I go to bed ‘late’ on week nights–after 11 p.m. On weekends I usually go to bed earlier–around 10 p.m. I am up by 5:30 every morning.

Your baby girl is going to be the cutest ‘stud’ ever!

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:13 pm

YOU WORK UNTIL 10…I did not know that! That is out of control Becky, you need more sleep:) Hope you have some amazing weekend plans and you should tell your library to get cooler cards!

Allie June 1, 2012 at 5:52 am

hahaha she is hilarious!!! yay for sleeping in!!! All the schools are done around here but I dont get to sleep in :( boo!! Your library card is cute!!! Your baby girl will definitely be a ‘stud’

Tell me a reason why your Thursday night was awesome?
Ummm my Thursday night was lame and it was just a rough night.

Any dancers reading? Did you ever take dance lessons?
I took gymnastics for 13 years :)

Do you ever go to the library?
I try to go to the library around once a week. I definitely didnt go this week :( I am hoping to go tomorrow to get more books!!

When you say, “I stayed up late”… what time does that mean? I just want to see if my perspective on ‘late’ is messed up.
HAHAH usually like 10-1030 lol

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:14 pm

NO SLEEPING in for you..booo! hopefully you get to this weekend. Gymnastics for 13 years, that is incredibly awesome. What can you still do! I am sorry last night was so rough, I hope tonight makes up for it!

Allie June 1, 2012 at 12:57 pm

I had my orientation for my summer job this morning so I didnt get to sleep in…but my body doesnt know what sleeping in is anymore haha
I can still do my -cartwheel,handstand, round off backhandspring, splits back bends, backwalk over and a few other things haha I am hoping tonight is fun(no plans yet) and tom I am taking spinning at 8am so no sleeping in either boo

Khushboo June 1, 2012 at 6:02 am

Ten buck says Curly breaks into Hollywood soon! For me staying up late on a weekday is anytime after midnight! I’m impressed you got a library card- talk about a productive way to spend your summer :)!

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:15 pm

I am going to have to totally agree with you…we will see her on commercials soon:) Hope you have an amazing weekend gorgeous girl!

sneakers 2 sandals June 1, 2012 at 6:17 am

What a fun day!! Looks like its the little thing in life that make you happy :) me too!

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:15 pm

Now that makes me happy….good to find other people that love the little things too:) Have an amazing day!

Heather @ Run Eat Play June 1, 2012 at 6:17 am

My hubby walked by the computer when I was on the picture of your belly with the stud finder and he was like what the heck is that – is that my stud finder? I said no, it’s someone else’s stud finder and a pregnant belly. what do you think? lol!

I love the library! I bring the kids all the time. They have so much to do there!

I only pretend that I can dance, and in my head I have some pretty good moves.

Have a great weekend, Janae!

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:16 pm

BAHAHAHA I love that your husband saw that…that makes my day. I can’t wait to take my little one to the library. I bet you are an incredible dancer Heather. We need to have a dance party!

Lindsay @ Lindsay's List June 1, 2012 at 6:25 am

AD = hands DOWN! the best show EVER!!!!

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:16 pm

Next year when I am at BLEND with you can we watch it together?!?!

Lauren June 1, 2012 at 6:26 am

That picture of Curly is amazing!!! So stinkin’ cute!

I was never coordinated enough to be a dancer. It would have been fun though. I did gymnastics but that was short lived :)

Have a great weekend girl!

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:17 pm

My gymnastics career was short too ha! Hope you have an amazing weekend too!!!

Kari @ Running Ricig June 1, 2012 at 6:27 am

I love the library, but I would love it even more if we had sweet dinosaur library cards!

Why was Billy in the ceiling??

Janae June 1, 2012 at 12:17 pm

They are trying to hang something from the ceiling and he had to go up their and check it out ha:) Tell your library about the dinosaur cards and maybe they will get them!

Amanda N June 1, 2012 at 6:36 am

Pretty funny picture of Billy in the ceiling.
Your niece is so cute! I danced from 3 years old through college. I wanted to be a ballerina forever, but then I grew up haha (and ballerina’s are not short)

That is one sweet library card. I’m jealous of your Thursday night. Mine was wicked lame! We’ve been watching X-Files on netflix and even that episode was lame.

Lish June 1, 2012 at 6:40 am

Curly is cracking me up!! And you are totally making me miss being a teacher for the summers off! I love the library, but I probably use it to rent movies more than books ;)

Tabaitha June 1, 2012 at 6:42 am

Yesterday was the last day of school in our area and while my kids aren’t in school yet, that means my nephews are free for the summer. Last night in celebration of the start of summer, my youngest nephew who just graduated Kindergarten, spent the night. We took the kids to the neighborhood splash pad, came back and ate dinner. Then all the kids cuddled and watched Despicable Me. By the time all the kids passed out, I was tired but couldn’t resist watching Friends a little bit longer. By the time Adam and I decided to go to sleep, which was late, at 11:30pm.

Amanda June 1, 2012 at 6:44 am

I adore finding gift cards that we had forgotten about!!

I adore the library. I go onto the Indigo Books website and review their ‘Heather’s Picks’ (top selling books as recommended by their CEO) and then reserve them at the library. Cheap and fun! You should try reading ‘While my sister sleeps’.

Enjoy your lunch today!!

Alex @ therunwithin June 1, 2012 at 6:44 am

I watched every arrested development season in one summer. Like whoa, I couldn’t stop. So hilarious.

Jenn@ Run It My Way June 1, 2012 at 6:45 am

My Thursday night was amazing! I coach a new runners group and their 5k goal race is coming up on Sunday, so we ran the race course to get everyone psyched up for it. I was such a proud mama, my runners are going to do amazing!

I have a messed up definition of ‘late’ too.. though mine goes the other way. Now I consider anything after 12:00 or 12:30 to be late… Anything earlier and I’m proud of myself for getting to bed early!!

Kristen @ notsodomesticated June 1, 2012 at 6:49 am

Staying up late would probably be about 11:00 for me. ;) Most nights I’m in bed by 9:30 or 10!!

And I would love to know more details about why Billy was hanging out of the ceiling!!

Katie @ Peace Love & Oats June 1, 2012 at 6:50 am

I keep hearing about arrested development, clearly I need to watch it! I just started watching How I met Your Mother and I’m loving it!

Adriana June 1, 2012 at 6:57 am

My Thursday night was kind of lame. I spent it trying to download some music from iTunes, but no dice.

I love the library, but I haven’t been in awhile. Maybe now that school is over, I’ll have more time for reading. Your library card is so cool; I love dinosaurs!

I usually go to bed between 10-11, but I consider staying up late to be
about 1am.

So, completely unrelated, did you know today is National Doughnut, and most Krispy Kremes are giving away free doughnuts?

Ashley June 1, 2012 at 6:57 am

AND you have a fabulous date with me and Megan. Just saying. ;)

Megan @ Run Like a Grl June 1, 2012 at 7:04 am

What a cutie curly is!! Seems like those kiddies are a ton of fun :)

I babysat last night and got to play with their dog. I want a dog so bad so I love going there and playing with her! And the kids are adorable so its always fun.

I usually go to sleep between 10:30-11 so 12 or 1 is late on a weekday. Weekends is another story!

Kaitlyn June 1, 2012 at 7:26 am

Our local library can be a bit lame because the university library is almost right across the street, but I still like to go in the summers and support it. We don’t have cool t-rex cards like you.

Kristin June 1, 2012 at 7:31 am

Hehehe I just love this post—you crack me up! 1) Curly is a riot…I can’t wait until she is older and gets to look at all of these pictures and show her friends how funny she was since birth. 2) I laughed out loud that you chose the t-rex library card…I have a feeling we could be great friends in real life. 3) It would be so fun to have you as a driving teacher. Is it hard when you have to fail kids? I can’t imagine you having to give such bad news!

natalie@ southern fit foodie June 1, 2012 at 8:00 am

Well, my Bible study was canceled and Daniel got called into work, so I was thinking it wasn’t going to be a great Thursday night. THEN my blogger bff Lindsay and I got to chat for like an hour and it made me so happy!

I took dance lessons for about two months when I was really little, but then stuck with cheer through college. Now I teach zumba, hip hop, and cardio dance. :)

I have a library card, and I need to go more often!

During the school year, late is 11 or 12, but during the summer or on weekends, late is 2 or 3 in the morning. :)

Alex @ Healthy Life Happy Wife June 1, 2012 at 8:01 am

Your niece is so dang cute!!

My idea of staying up late is midnight. I could stay up late every night but I force myself to go to sleep earlier because I know I’ll feel it in the morning!!

Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries June 1, 2012 at 8:02 am

i would love to meet curly in real life too… she is just too cute and your stories about her always make me laugh. to find a coldstone AND golden spoon giftcard all in one day would be the best day ever in my book. enjoy!!! you cracked me up with the stud finder. you’re too funny! have a great weekend!

Emily June 1, 2012 at 8:06 am

My Thursday was awesome because my boyfriend and I had Tyson chicken nuggets and white cheddar mac ‘n cheese for dinner… it was like I was a kid again!! :) Oh and because we watched hours of Criminal Minds on DVR (while doing ab workouts), I’ll never understand why I let myself watch that before bed.

I used to take ballet!! Basically, I was the equivalent to Spanky in The Little Rascals… you know when he puts on a tutu and runs around on the stage like a chicken with it’s head cut off? Yeah, I was that little girl. I’m sure all of the parents thought I was a dandy, hence why I never finished it. Turns out I ended up becoming a cheerleader and stuck with that for years, probably because I could act like a complete spaz and wear huge bows in my hair.

Staying up late for me is anytime past 10:30 on week night. On the weekends, late is considered midnight for my boyfriend & I, he’s 28 and I’m 23, I can’t party like I’m 18 anymore haha ;)

Abby @ Change of Pace June 1, 2012 at 8:08 am

Curly is so precious! I wonder who she learned her dramatics from?!
I hosted my book club last night; it was super fun and we ate some delicious desserts I made with recipes from Pinterest!
When are you guys deciding where you’ll be moving to for law school?

Nicole June 1, 2012 at 8:09 am

Today is National Donut Day!!! :)

Theresa June 1, 2012 at 8:10 am

so darn cute, thats such a good picture!

my thursday night was awesome because we made a really yummy dinner and yep, food makes me that happy.

i dont go to the library but ive been meaning to sign up, i think we have a decent local library.

my definition of staying up late on weekdays is 11ish (i go to bed around 9:30-10 usually)..weekends around midnight. i’m a party animal :)

gahhhh i need one of those cafe rio salads, they always look SO good!!

Megan@ The Running Doc June 1, 2012 at 8:12 am

That picture of your niece so reminds me of my old dance pictures, so cute! Though I don’t think I ever stuck as awesome a pose as she’s rocking. :)

Staying up late for me means about 10:30, haha. I’m a total grandma and like to go to sleep anywhere between 9-10 every night.

Kaelin June 1, 2012 at 8:17 am

Oh yea, the classic dance pictures!!! I danced from 5 through middle school and loved it!

Thursday was unawesome, it rained all day so I didn’t get out for a run.

I used to visit the library a ton when I was a kid, and then the library meant evil things like research and homework and late night paper writing. I haven’t been to one in a long time!

We are in bed by 10, if not earlier during the week. I would consider midnight late on the weekends!!

Stephanie June 1, 2012 at 8:18 am

I love that cute little curly, she is adorable. So last night I had a dream that you had your baby and I went to visit you. The baby was gorgeous, of course, but the funny thing is that she had hair exactly like yours. It was long and curled :D It was funny. Don’t ask me why I had such a dream…probably because I love babies and yesterday I got all caught up on your blog, it had been a few days :)

Betsy June 1, 2012 at 8:33 am

Thursdays are our date nights too! We had frozen pizza and just talked. Totally ideal… I look forward to Thursday nights all week!

We didnt stay up too late, maybe 9:30 or 10. For me, “late” is anything past 10:00.

Monica June 1, 2012 at 8:50 am

My Thursday night was fantastic. My husband took me out on an awesome date for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We’ve been celebrating all spring long by going on a few little trips but yesterday was the official day. Best day ever!

Monica June 1, 2012 at 8:51 am

p.s. staying up late for my is anything past 1 am. someday i’ll go to bed at a decent hour…

Grecia June 1, 2012 at 8:52 am

2 huge slices of watermelon made my Thursday awesome. I took 2 dance classes in high school and I was so bad, but it was a lot of fun. I go to the library all the time, but our cards are so plain, I wish mine had a little T-rex on it. “I stayed up late” means anywhere past 11. I always say I have a grandma bedtime.

CatieB June 1, 2012 at 8:55 am

I danced from when I was little up until college. Now I run! :)
Curly is so cute! I love her pose!
I love libraries! One of the reasons why I chose my college was because I loved the library on campus! haha
Happy Friday!

Nicole@TheKidlessKronicles June 1, 2012 at 9:00 am

Thurs was good because I went to Crossfit.
No dancing.
I don’t go to the library. But my husband works at one so I just phone my orders in.
Staying up late around here is midnight. Or anything past 11 really.

The Kidless Kronicles

Erica June 1, 2012 at 9:05 am

Any night after 11 is a stayed up late.

Burgers on the grill made the Thursday night awesome, and I diverged from the cereal before bed and did oatmeal (on a huge kick as of late) and it was delish.

mary @ minutespermile June 1, 2012 at 9:06 am

i love finding gift cards! i also obsess over collecting coupons. it’s not cheap, it’s “thrifty”

Amanda June 1, 2012 at 9:11 am

I’m looking for the seal with the thirst for kitty blood!

dana a. June 1, 2012 at 9:38 am

thursday night was awesome because we had fro-yo for dinner!

i used to go to the library when i was younger all the time but now, not so much especially now that i have an e-reader. i do take my nieces there in the summer for their reading program.

staying up late for me is 11! i am not a night owl, i need my sleep:)

is cafe rio like chipotle? it looks really good and i want to try it out except the only one we have is about 1 hr. away.

Shannon June 1, 2012 at 9:41 am

I could watch Arrested Development over and over and over again. BEST. SHOW. EVER.
Have a beautiful day! :)

Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile June 1, 2012 at 9:58 am

She looks like she is such a trip, too cute!
I did nooothing Thursday night. I’m boring.
I used to be in dance, I wish I stayed in it! I took ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, and I think that’s it. I was young though, so no talent anymore :P
I do go to the library sometimes, but my Nook has been keeping me from it!
Sometimes “late” to me can be 11:30 and sometimes it can be 5 a.m. It all depends haha

Lilly June 1, 2012 at 10:22 am

Curly is just so dang cute! I danced from age 3-19, my life was ballet haha. Hope you get yourself a donut today :) plus use up those great gift cards, score!

Shauna @ Balancing Bites June 1, 2012 at 10:49 am

I love going to the library. My library lets you check out books on the Kindle, so I’m always there. Plus they have story time for the kids. I don’t like to stay up past midnight. I need at least 7 hours of sleep, so that gives my plenty of time to get up with the kids at 8 am.

Lisa June 1, 2012 at 10:52 am

Tell me a reason why your Thursday night was awesome?

Thursday night was awesome because my 4 yr old daughter and I had our “date night” last night instead of Friday. We had a nice dinner out together, and did several “toasts”. love her. We also have matching nail polish which makes her proud. :)

Do you ever go to the library? constantly..I get a little anxious if I only have one “back up” book, so am always requesting books so that they are ready for me when I need them.

When you say, “I stayed up late”… what time does that mean? Um..9:30? But keep in mind, i wake up every morning before 4:30am.

Megan June 1, 2012 at 11:12 am

I love your blog. It makes me smile every day! I can’t wait to see what adventures you have this summer!

Irina @ Chocolatea Time June 1, 2012 at 11:45 am

I watched Arrested Development from start to finish for the first time this year and loved it! Rumor has it an Arrested Development movie is coming out? I *hope* it’s true!

Annette@FitnessPerks June 1, 2012 at 11:48 am

I LOVE the library!!! I am a nerd too ;)

And yes, danced all my life (still do), and had toooonnnsss of dance recitals. My mom was so nice to deal with all of that, now that I think about it!

Friday ROCKS! Date night baby!

Kay June 1, 2012 at 12:33 pm

I haven’t been to a library in forever- the card is super cute though!

Happy Friday!

Jess @ Blonde Ponytail June 1, 2012 at 12:36 pm

Stud finder! You and Billy never fail to make me smile! Curly, I wanna be friends!!

Enjoy date night–I get one too and we are likely staying in so our furchild can spend time with us too! ;)

Shari @ The Daily Dish June 1, 2012 at 12:39 pm

Your niece is so adorable! :)

Kate @ Run with Kate June 1, 2012 at 12:58 pm

When I say I stayed up late it means midnight or later.

Curly is the cutest child I have EVER seen. I think so every time you post a picture of her. SO CUTE!

What is a stud finder?

Keri Ford June 1, 2012 at 1:16 pm

Little Curly is the CUTEST dancer ever.

I love dance – my best friend and I run her mom’s dance studio, it’s all I do!!!

Late nights for me mean staying up past 1 AM. I have problems.

Haha and I still can’t get over the stud comment. Cheesy, but so great!!

Erin @ The Grass Skirt June 1, 2012 at 2:01 pm

Hmm…I’ll have to tell the hubby to get the stud detector out to see if our baby will be a stud too. :) Sadly, staying up late for me these days is like 11 pm!

Cara June 1, 2012 at 2:02 pm

Love her! My 6 yr old daughter is having her recital for ballet Tues., and just had her pictures last night. They are so stinkin cute at that age.

I have danced ballet for 29 yrs., and have been with my current ballet company since 1991. I don’t teach, and perform mostly character roles these days, but have been known to throw on some pointe shoes now and then. :) It is seriously the best exercise ever, and always a blast to perform with my friends. It is my “me” time. I danced while I was pregnant with both kiddos and performed Nutcrackers up until I was 8 mo. cooked.

You have to have to let your daughter dance! I cried the first time I saw my little one dance onstage the first time. Pinky promise I am not one of those crazy stage moms either, they each do it for fun and love it because they have been around it their whole life.

IDK My BFF Jes June 1, 2012 at 2:59 pm! I wish I knew curly so I could frame that pic! it’s presh to death!

My thursday night was awesome because I got my left split back! It’s still tight, but I’m working on it.

I took ballet for about 6 weeks in 6th grade. I was a little late in the game so I quit.

I don’t, but I wish I did. I really want to get a card! I love the way old books smell!

During the week it means I was up until 11. Weekend…midnight.

Allison June 1, 2012 at 3:33 pm

That library card is way too awesome! I love dinosaurs! I have been dancing for 13 years (I’m 18.) Is curly wearing tights? Most teachers would have a fit to see a child without them haha.

Emily @ Paging Dr. Grace June 1, 2012 at 5:09 pm

i danced all the way through college! love it and miss it sooo much! curly is just adorable in her costume!

Colleen June 1, 2012 at 5:43 pm

I have watched Arrested Development start to finish probably well over 15 times (it was a sad day in my life when that show was cancelled) and it never gets old, in fact I always find new parts to laugh at!

Staying up late for me is 9pm- I am so lame. If I stay up REALLY late I’m pushing 9:30.

Have a fantastic weekend!

brandy June 1, 2012 at 6:25 pm

I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen Arrested Development!!! I ALWAYS catch on to a new joke too no matter how many times I watch it! Is it weird I’m super glad to hear you’re a fan?! Every time I meet someone who also loves AD I feel like we’re instant best friends and we can spend the next three hours quoting the entire series ;)

Losing Lindy June 1, 2012 at 6:59 pm

I am hoping to rejoin the library. I am not sure what happened to our cards. I want to get V into the summer reading program

Rene Hall June 1, 2012 at 8:55 pm

We took the kids out to dinner and to see a late movie to celebrate the end of school. We got home around midnight. Jax rolled out of bed at 10 am and Ry slept til 11.
I feel like Curly shoul be related to Rylee. They would be bff’s.
P.S. Apologize to Billy for what my Rangers are going to do to the Angels this weekend.

Billy June 1, 2012 at 9:38 pm

Apology not accepted. But thank you so much for the clothes you sent! That was so nice. Janae still opens up the Toms box at least once a day to see how cute they are. PS jk about the apology not accepted. The Rangers are looking pretty good this year and the Angels not so much…

Rene Hall June 2, 2012 at 1:21 pm

You’re welcome for the clothes. We had so much fun shooping for HRB.
As much as it pains me to say it I think I may have spoken too soon about my Rangers. It appears we might be in a bit of a slump.

Tiffany June 1, 2012 at 9:51 pm

I just thought you should know it’s national doughnut day! Go to Krispy Kreme for a free one if you get this before midnight. Baby wants doughnuts…

Shay @ Whine Less, Breathe More June 1, 2012 at 10:44 pm

My Thursday night was awesome because my 14 year old daughter had a softball and she was a “stud!”

We go to the library at least once a week. My card has a mountain and a hiker on it!

Late for me is after midnight, but I’m trying to be better and get to bed before 11:00 PM.

Missy June 2, 2012 at 9:59 am

Yep I was a dancer from age 11 to 21, I did competition jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical…I loved it! My sister now teaches competition dance at our old dance studio.

Lea June 2, 2012 at 1:36 pm

You’re niece is too cute! I’m secretly jealous of her dance costume too, mine where never that cute when I was here age. I’ve been dancing for 17 years! Luckily, dance costumes have gotten much cuter in those 17 years.
I’m also jealous that your library card has a dinosaur on it, mine is just stinky and yellow.

Carrie B June 3, 2012 at 3:25 am

I want to meet Curly!!!!
And that pic of Billy in the ceiling is awesome.
You are looking even more beautiful pregnant! :) Miss you!
