The positive outweighs the negative.

Let’s get the negative out of the way first.  #1….my hairspray exploded in my suitcase on the way home from California.  Let’s be honest, I am materialistic, it made me pretty upset that my favorite leather jacket is now ruined (it is all over the front and warped the material).  BOO, I even put the hairspray in a separate bag to prevent an accident like this but it leaked through.

IMG 9570

Negativity city #2= I went out on a run with Billy and everything on my body started hurting, my lungs, my feet, my head, my ears…everything.  I stopped at one mile, walked home and took a picture of my mad face just like any normal human being would.  I was really frustrated for some reason.  It was beautiful outside and I was running with B yet I just couldn’t do it.  It is so easy for me to remind other people that BAD runs are part of the game but I forget to let myself off every now and then…especially being almost 17 weeks along.

Photo 17 copy

I like to keep chapstick, pepper spray and some shot blocks in my hair as I run, that is why it is so poofy on top.

Good thing that there were way more positives than negatives!  I ended up going to the gym instead and got a great elliptical workout.  I came home to find a package from Lizzy.  Lizzy is the fastest, sweetest girl ever, most positive, hardworking girl ever!

The package had all of my favorite things including NEW socks and cadbury mini eggs.  That alone solved everything.

Next positive:

Can you guess which one is mine?  I was about to get two cups (one for me and one for the baby) but decided to just make a gigantic one instead.  I got to go to froyo with my new blogging friends Olivia and Emily for Olivia’s birthday!  She is running her first marathon this summer, the Utah Valley Marathon!

Photo 19

The last awesome positivity of my day?  Remember how I went on and on how I think Chloe Sutton is the coolest human being ever?

IMG 9512

She commented on my blog and I actually froze for 2 minutes not knowing what to do before I texted Billy telling him I had the best news ever.

Before you know it I will be taking weekly lessons from her and swimming faster than I can roller blade (which is pretty fast).

————————————————–

PS if anyone ruins it for me about who won The Bachelor….I will hunt you down.  I can’t watch it until after school!

————————————————–

What has been one negative and one positive about your day?!?!

Who else will be running there first 1/2 marathon or full marathon this year?

How are you getting your sweat on today?

-Teaching spin and yoga later!

Did you watch The Bachelor last night?  Don’t give it away, just say whether you did or not:)

I am running my first marathon this Sunday! I am SO NERVOUS. But so excited!! My second marathon is June 9–Utah Valley!! Woot woot!

I watched the Bachelor! It was good, as always. The only bummer was that they cut After the Final Rose short to talk about Ashley and JP, I was hoping they would bring the runner up instead.

Reply

AHHH I am so so excited for you and I love the purple shirt you will be wearing! We have to meet up for the Utah Valley marathon okay:) BOO to cutting it short!

Reply

Boo! Sorry sorry hear about your coat! I hate when stuff explodes in suitcases, we had a bag of chia seeds explode on our way home last week, it didn’t wreck anything but made one mess!
In the mail yesterday I got my first shipment of Sun Warrior protein :) That was my highlight for sure.
I did Yoga Meltdown this morning, and swimming tonight, that might be my negative…
I did not watch the Bachelor!

Positive- The pain detracts from my injured hip :) Whoooop!

Reply

I am really so sorry about your injured hip, that breaks my heart!

Reply

lets see, today just started but so far the negative is that I think i’m getting PF in my left foot too..lovely. the good part is my favoritest band ever had their new album come out today so i’ll be jamming to it for forever ever.

first full marathon this year, YAY!

i ran 5.5 miles this morning and did weights.

p.s. when you dealt with PF, did the night splints help alot? i’m debating about whether to go for them or not.

Reply

Chicago baby! I am so sorry about your PF, I know how frustrating that can be! The night splints helped BIG TIME, I think that is what healed them for me (plus rest). Keep me updated!

Reply

How cool she commented! Yay for packages.

Are you going to find out the gender of the baby? Can we throw you a virtual baby shower? I mean if we can have virtual races, we can surely have a shower!

Of course we will need a PO box to send everything to. :)

Reply

HEY YOU!! We are going to find out next month, I seriously can’t wait. You are so sweet, that would be a blast!

Reply

1 positive: I got in a sweaty HIIT cardio sesh on the treadmill before having to come to work early!
1 negative: i only ran 2.3 miles instead of my intended 4, because my shins are still hurting a little :(

I’M RUNNING MY 1ST HALF MARATHON THIS YEAR! May 6th! Hope my shins are feeling better!

My sweat was my HIIT sesh, and i’m hoping to get into a spin class tonight!

No Bachelor for me!

Reply

GREAT job on your HIIT cardio workout, that is the best! BOO to your shins though. Jen, you are going to rock your first half marathon wahoo!

totes watched the bachelor eventhough I have hard time looking at Ben. can’t they pick a bachelor that I actually want to oogle over instead of get angry at??

Reply

I KNOW….seriously, the next Bachelor better be a whole lot better. It is the hair that really kills me.

Reply

Positive about yesterday: hubby brought me dinner at work!
Negative about yesterday: we tried a new Chinese place and it was gross :(

I’m running my first marathon this year- CHICAGO! :)

Today I’m just going for a 3 mile easy run. It’s beautiful outside!

Reply

I hate it when I try to branch out and try something new and it is gross. Your husband is so sweet to bring you dinner. You are going to ROCK CHICAGO!! Wanna do it with me 2013 too?

Reply

Consider it done! Even though it’s only my first marathon, I have a feeling I’ll get addicted. Will HRB be making the trip with you? :)

Reply

That sucks about your leather coat! You look great for being 17 weeks :)

My negative today is that I can’t workout because of my stupid calves being all tight and sore (I have an appointment with a sports medicine doctor on Thursday)
And the positive is that now I have more time to spend with my son today. We’re going to the library!

Reply

Thanks Heather. I am so sorry about your calves being so tight! Let me know how the doctor appointment goes on Thursday. ENJOY the library, so fun!

Reply

Positive: It’s SUNNY here today!!! Yay for vitamin D!!!
Negative: none yet!

Getting my sweat on by heading out for some hill intervals as soon I digest the ginormous smoothie I just had.
BTW, I *must* know what those little round ball things are in your fro yo? I occasionally can get to a town that has one of those places and love trying new combos (pretty much any fruit + mochi bits are my current fave).

Also, be prepared for days/runs like that, especially in pregnancy. Alternative workouts were my saviors in my pregnancies (daughter and then twin boys). Before I found out we were having twins in my 2nd pregnancy, I’d go out for an XC ski workout and practically die of exhaustion not even 1/2 mile in and wonder what the heck was WRONG with me! The pool and its fabulous buoyancy quickly became my workout friend. =)

Reply

ENJOY that sunshine! Okay the little round balls are heavenly. They pop when you bite them and are full of fruit juice, SO good. You have to let me know when you try it what you think about it. Okay, thank you so much for your advice about pregnancy and exercise! AHHH TWINS…I can’t even imagine, you are my hero!

Reply

A negative about today: I’m feeling extra down about not being able to run for a bit because of a hip flexor problem :'( The weather here is finally perfect and the road is calling my name but I know I can’t go. SO sad!

A (seriously cool) positive: I was reading one of my favourite blogs this morning and about 2 lines into the post the blogger gave me a shout out that I totally wasn’t expecting!! It made me SO excited, I made my boyfriend come read it too :-D

I’m doing my first full marathon in September and I’m coaching my first running group starting in 4 weeks (but who’s counting?!) Lots of exciting things, now I just need to get healthy!

Congrats on the shout out from Chloe Sutton – that’s awfully freaking cool!! I can’t even imagine how pumped you must have been!!

Reply

THat is so exciting Jenn!! BOO to your hip flexor, that is not fun at all! SEPTEMBER…wahoo, that is so cool you are coaching!

Reply

Pregnancy truly suits you because you look so STUNNING lately. I mean not that you didn’t look fabulous before but you are totally radiant in your last few posts! Keep shinning Momma!

Reply

Wow….Katye, thank you so much! You really made my morning:) You are my positive today!

Reply

Positive/Negative for the day so far: I just did horribly on an exam. But I got a paper back for the same class and got an AB so I can’t complain.

2012 is the year of running for me. My first marathon is April 28 (Nashville RnR) and I’m signed up for another in October. Also doing Tough Mudder and HOPEFULLY a Ragnar. :)

Today I’m doing a slow 5 miler and the Plyo Cardio Insanity DVD.

I only saw the After Show when my boyfriend turned it on briefly…then he said it was too much to handle. haha.

Reply

I am so sorry about your test, that is no fun at all…I do not miss those. GREAT job on your paper though. You are going to rock Nashville and I know you will sign up for another after that, you are going to be hooked! Ha, Billy can’t handle it either!

Reply

I only watched half of the finale before I had to leave the house – but I’m pretty sure I know what happened. I’m just looking forward to seeing the After The Final Rose and all of it’s stupendous cattiness. I got my sweat on before work this morning, a hilly 8 miles on the bike and some ab work!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Reply

After The Final ROse ceremony is by far my favorite part. ENJOY your awesome workout…you are hard core!

Reply

so sorry about your leather jacket. i would be super bummed too!

i watched the bachelor finale last night but it was kind of a snooze-fest like the rest of the season was (in my humble opinion). i cant wait for the bachelorette- i hope emily brings more excitement.

negative about my day so far- still injured and cant run (but its getting better!) and my boss pointed out errors i made about something. boo :(

positive: the weather is getting warmer, and march madness is almost upon us.

ok so maybe that is 2 of each..haha woops

Reply

I agree…this season was not nearly as good…probably because he annoyed me so badly. Emily seems kind of boring too though, I am worried. Hopefully the contestants are a lot of fun! I am so sorry that you are still injured and the boss thing…that is the worst! ENJOY the warm weather!

Reply

Positive of the day- that it’s lunchtime and I don’t have recess duty, even though it is a gorgeous day out.
Negative of the day and tomorrow- No specials (PE or Music) because we are doing our AWFUL state tests, thankfully I teach first so no problems there.
I am doing my first 1/2 this weekend: the Rock N Roll 1/2 in DC. I’m super nervous and hoping that I’m ready. I’m just praying for no wind lol.
My husband has bad runs every now and again and he gets super frustrated too and he’s not pregnant, at least not that we know;-) I never have bad runs- JK. PS. You do get mad props though, you are 17 weeks, I’m 0 and you still run more than me! Shout out to you HRG! :-)

Reply

Hey Christy! Yay for no recess duty ha! State tests are the worst, I dread those. AHH YOU ARE GOING TO ROCK DC, I am so happy for you! Thanks so much Christy, you are really sweet!

Reply

Girl don’t be hard on yourself. Remember you are really pushing your body when u run pregnant. Did you know when pregnant your cardiac output is increased by 40%, not to mention the increase in plasma volume! Slow down run like a grandma and enjoy every minute of this time in your life. E

Reply

AHHHHH I DIDN’T KNOW THAT. That is crazy, I had no idea it is increased by 40%. You just made me feel a zillion times better. Thank you so much Elizabeth!

Reply

Why do you think it is so much harder to breathe? :)

Reply

I knew that the output was increased but not by 40%….I just thought I was getting out of shape really fast!

Reply

I don’t really have a negative yet, but it is early. Give it time. Positive is later we are going out to eat, I get to take the dogs for a walk. And it is warming up in NC. Not that it every really got cold.
Don’t watch the Bachelor. No spoilers here.
The Kidless Kronicles

Reply

Enjoy going out to dinner, walking dogs and the gorgeous weather!

Reply

OOH I can’t believe the hairspray exploded and ruined your leather jacket…..that jacket is so cute on you, I think I remember seeing it in your pics! Sorry about that, I get really upset about dumb materialistic things like that all the time, but then I have to remind myself that life could be worse!!

Reply

Thanks Katherine! You are so right though, time for a perspective change ha!

Reply

I watched! You’re famous, that’s awesome Chloe commented!! My negative is that it’s SNOWING and will never ever EVER be summer.

Reply

WAIT…SNOWING?!?! It is like 60 degrees here. What is with this weather? Stay warm!

Reply

Yes, definitely yes to the bachelor.

One positive. I like my outfit today. and the hubby sent me an e-mail to remind me it’s our engagement anniversary.(makes my heart happy he remembered something like this)

One negative: 3 stacks of papers and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO motivation to grade them.

Reply

I really wish we could watch the Bachelor together while we eat dessert. HAPPY ENGAGEMENT ANNIVERSARY, that is adorable that he remembered. Hmmmmmm send me half the stack and I will help you grade:)

Reply

To celebrate the anniversary we went for FRO-YO, 30 minutes away one way. the hubby has never been, and when he was savoring his deliciousness he goes “I wish we had an I-phone to take a picture of us to send to your blogging friend.”

Reply

Oh my goodness! This made my day because 1. You had froyo tonight and you totally deserve it and 2. He wanted to send a picture of the froyo to me!!! Seriously made me so happy!

Reply

Oh no, so sorry about your jacket!! But I’m glad some positive things came your way!

Reply

Thanks so much Kay and I hope you are having an amazing day!

Reply

That totally stinks about your jacket :(
BUT you had tons of great stuff happen too! Way to look on the positive side!
Today’s negative for me is that my room is super messy and I haven’t unpacked from my trip yet… MY POSITIVE: I’m going out to dinner with my boyfriend tonight!
I haven’t watched The Bachelor yet either!

Reply

I hate unpacking…it means that vacation is over. Great job on your HILLY HILLY HILLY half marathon, you are hardcore. Enjoy dinner with your boyfriend! Sushi?

Reply

Most people don’t know this but you are not supposed to put aerosol cans in your luggage. They may explode. I was a flight attendant for 8 years and this is known to be dangerous. We all carried hairspray and had to carry the little ones that pump. Most people don’t read warning on what you can and can not bring on a plane. That stinks it ruined your jacket. :(
Today I have no time for a workout :( which makes me so sad. I have to work then class then family is in town that I havent seen yet.
So there is my negative and positive. No workout = Negative Family = Positive
Hope you have a better day! I know you will.

Reply

I totally didn’t know that! Good to know now, I guess I should read the warning! I am sorry today is so busy but that is awesome your fam is in town!

Reply

I think it has something to do with the temperature affecting the chemicals and their resulting pressure placed on the can (just a theory — I’m sure the FAA has more reasons as well). Heat causes the molecules to move more quickly and resulting in a very slight outward pressure, cold does the opposite. The luggage holds of airplanes I suspect are unheated, plus the air pressure changes and voila! Ruined coat.

Reply

I’m so sorry about your leather jacket. That’s awful. And you’re right. We all have bad runs. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t appreciate the good ones as much. But the day of the bad run…ugh. We feel crummy. I’m glad you got your workout in.
Positive? I unexpectedly got the day off and it’s beautiful out today.
Negative. I woke up not feeling very great so I’m working on that.
I don’t watch the Bachelor. Does that put me out of the club? ;)

Reply

Tess, you are so right! Thank you!! DAY OFF?!?! Enjoy every second and get feeling better. Definitely does not put you out of the club….you don’t waste your life watching a silly drama like me ha:)

Reply

I LOVE THE BACHELOR. But I despise this particular Bachleor – it was a train wreck I couldn’t look away from.

Reply

HAHAH yep, train wreck is an accurate description. All I have to say is next week better be a whole lot better!

Reply

Oops…I meant next season!

Reply

Positive- its gorgeous outside and I can’t wait to get out there and run!!!
Negative – I was up too late watching the bachelor so this day is dragging and I am sleepy!

Reply

Your body is going to do some amazing things over the next few months. It’s going to create brain cells, toe nails, lungs, ear lobes, lips, internal organs. Don’t worry about your running right now. I know it is one of your favorite things ever. But, if your body is trying to tell you something listen. I ran up untill 5.5 months and then it was time to stop. You look great Janae. :)

Reply

Dolly, this is just the comment I needed to read. Really…thank you so much. It really helps to put things into perspective!

Reply

That is one awesome package! Lizzy is so sweet. Love her blog too :-)

This morning I did a mini speed workout on the treadmill and lifted weights, it was great! I enjoyed pushing myself on the treadmill with my speed – something I haven’t done in a long time!

Enjoy spin and yoga class this evening!

negative: i have the worst shift at work today. 1130-8. i start before i can have my beloved lunch, and end after dinner, with ONE half hour break probably around 430 (not even my dinner time). blah.
positive: two days off start after this awful shift. and i had a great 5 mile run this morning! (which answers how i got my sweat on! booyah)

i’m running my first half marathon in may! super excited! 53 more days!

i’m not a bachelor fan. i can’t get into it!

ps, don’t let one bad run set you back! GOOD FOR YOU for getting out there and doing one mile! that’s more than some people have ran in their entire life, i’m sure! think of all the running you still have left to do :)

Reply

HOLLY…thank you so much for your comment and you are so right! NOOOOO that is a long shift Holly! Only one half hour break…booo! YAY for two days off, enjoy every second. 53 days until you rock that half marathon!

Reply

Holly, I thought I was the only blogging girl on the planet that does not watch the bachelor and doesnt plan on it! I can’t get into it either! :)

Reply

I can’t believe you met Chrissie Wellington!! Jealous!!

I just signed up to run my first full marathon at Louisiana Marathon in Jan ’13. I am thrilled, excited and nervous all in one. I hope to run a half marathon in Memphis in December ’12, St Judes. I love to have someone to work toward and think about. I am thankful that I can start and finish, I don’t try to worry about time. I am blessed to be able to run and I love it and hope and pray that running will be a part of my life for a long time.

Reply

I am running my first half marathon this fall! The Wine and Dine Half at Walt Disney World. Although, I almost gave up running because of one bad run last week.

Reply

This is the best sentence I’ve ready all day: Before you know it I will be taking weekly lessons from her and swimming faster than I can roller blade (which is pretty fast).

I cracked up at my desk.

I just did 1.5 miles with Bungee at lunch and I’m going out for more after work!

Reply

Running my first half in May, on Mother’s Day. Can’t wait!

Reply

I JUST saw those fruity bursts for the first time at my local fro yo place but was too chicken to try them. PLEASE tell me what they’re like so I can make an informed decision next time I go.

Reply

I guess I missed the entire season, but it was sure buzzed about on the internet!!! One negative is that I’m starving.. but I only have 28 minutes till lunch. I think I convinced Kevin to go to a track tonight because it’s so nice out! Yay. So sad about the hairspray incident. I’d be heartbroken!!

Reply

What has been one negative and one positive about your day?!?!
Negative is that I woke up in a funk that carried over from yesterday. I was in one of those moods where I wanted to be left alone and I think its the job hunt that is getting to me and slightly depressing me.
Positive is that I found this half marathon http://www.hollywoodhalfmarathon.com, and John said its a possibility for us to go down south to run it! I think it would be a blast. He just has to call the race directors to see what elites are running it to see if he stands a chance to place in the top 5. Can you tell I’m proud of him and I live vicariously through him :)

How are you getting your sweat on today?
Its raining in the Bay Area, but I plan on going outside for a run today for a change of scenery from the treadmill, and to hopefully get me out of this funk!

Did you watch The Bachelor last night? Don’t give it away, just say whether you did or not:)
No I dont watch it!

Reply

Not to be a Debbie Downer but the runs will probably get progressively worse. I finally gave in and took a week off because everything was starting to hurt. The doctor says if I don’t mind the pain I can keep going but I seriously miss running like I used to. I cut off a mile this morning and felt a lot better. Only five weeks to go, hopefully I can run through the rest of them. I’m not great at doing it but you just have to give your body a break on the days it demands. The wam weather makes that a lot tougher.

Reply

Janae!! So sorry to read about your leather jacket. that is the WORST! I’m traveling this weekend, so I better be careful with my hairspray! i love this post. you are sooo right: the positives outweigh the negatives. Don’t let one bad run set you back. focus on the positive! :)

Reply

Due to the fact that I came up north to go to a Bachelor party (so yes, I did watch it) I slept at my parentals with the kids and I could not get up and go to the gym this morning (lest I leave my children alone at their house unsupervised). So I brought Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones (I need to do some strength since I missed PUMP this morning) and have yet to put it in.My son woke up soooo early, so I am running on little sleep. Plus, I am suffering from a food hangover. I am such a social eater. I will go do the video NOW!

Bummer about the jacket and the painful run. I guess you are are not super human like I have been led to believe. Wait. Running 11 miles last Friday whilst 17 weeks pregnant. Nevermind. You are ;)

Reply

ahhh the bachelor!!! glad to see I’m not the only one out there that watched it through the lame-ness of ben. haha

Your bad run was probably as fast as my good run. I hate those days though.

Reply

Sorry about the hairspray. That super sucks! but super cool about the comment!

negative – I woke up late and didn’t get my run in, and was almost late to work (I sprinted the three block walk, so I guess I did get some of my run in. haha) so it’s going to overbook my evening squeezing that in.

Positive – Pole Dancing tonight! It’s so fun and hard, but I love it.

Today I’ll get my sweat on by running then pole dancing. I am in need of some endorphines and energy.

Nope, I don’t watch the Bachelor. BUT I did read who won, BUTTTTT I won’t ruin it for you.

Reply

I swore I would never watch The Bachelor 3 years ago. I totally got sucked into this season. Boo! Never again!!!!

I’m running my first marathon this year in September! Woot woot!

Reply

I ran .5 miles and my knee started hurting – the right one this time – old faithful is giving out on me and this is only my 2nd day running in 2 weeks – so sad :(

A good thing… hrmm… I get to go home in 23 minutes? No, that doesn’t outweight the bad. … My hubby loves me and we have a big fuzzy dog waiting for us when we get home from work – that is a good thing EVERY day :)

I will hopefully be running my first race EVER in June – a 10k and my first half marathon in the fall if all goes well and my legs don’t fall off in June or beforehand (always a possibility!)

Reply

I think the negative for today would be my husband calling to say he has to be out of town until Thursday, when he was supposed to be home today. A positive thing today is that it’s nice and sunny and warm, and I’m going to take my puppy for a walk when I get home!

I’m running my first half marathon sometime this year. I haven’t picked a race yet…I’m a slacker, but I haven’t had a chance to!

I did Tina’s Bootcamp workout this morning, and I have another challenge I’ll be doing tonight, 50 burpees & 50 v-sits, after I go for a walk.

I don’t watch the Bachelor…I think I watched Diner’s Drive-ins & Dives last night :)

Reply

Negative – I have to go to a meeting at work today. And I needed to go into town to get some groceries (I’m out of greek yogurt AND bananas and running low on basically everything else, including coffee), and intended to do so when I took one of my dogs to be groomed, but realtors ended up coming to look at the house so I had to take all of my dogs with me, and couldn’t leave the others in the car while getting groceries cuz it was too warm out. So no groceries for me.

Positive – My house is now clean since I had to clean it before the realtors came (it was so nice of them to give me an entire 14 hours notice… please note the sarcasm).

My workout today… I’ll either do a video or the elliptical when I get home from the meeting. And now that I’ve said that on here I HAVE to do it (I won’t get home til 7 or so)

I didn’t watch the Bachelor (never do!), but I was shocked to find out the finale was last night, since I read about who won in a magazine this weekend. (Won’t say who won!) I guess someone leaked the info.

Reply

What are those sushi/fish tank beads in your yogurt??!?!?

Reply

Negative – We had a showing for our house this morning, so having to take all three kids to Target during lunch hour. Positive – My brother is in town visiting some friends during his spring break, so we were able to meet up with him for lunch. I will be running my first half marathon this year. I’m not sure which one yet, but by the fall, I will be ready! Going for a run this evening, thanks to daylight savings. Didn’t watch The Bachelor.

Reply

1. One positive: Leftover pizza and hummus and veggies for lunch!
2. One negative: I got motion sickness on the bus this morning :(

I’ve run a few half marathons, but am currently out for the count because of my foot problems. I have my eye on running the Nike Women’s in San Francisco again this fall if I can swing it though!

I hired a personal trainer for the month- he sends me REALLY hard workouts to do and it totally works me harder than I would do on my own. Today it’s arms and shoulders- the first two things are 50 burpies and 50 pushups. I got scared there and stopped reading!

No Bachelor for me, so I can’t spoil it for you! :)

Hi again.

Positive thing happened today? I joined the gym I have been taking spin classes at for a month. Love it there.
Negative thing? Ummmm all of my runs have been outside. I’m a new runner as you might remember me saying earlier. (8 weeks now) I knew i was a slow runner but didn’t know how slow til today. I ran on treadmill. My comfortable speed was 4.1, I did this for first mile and bumped it up to 5 the next. It was not so comfortable. But I finished it out. Upset I was only able to do 2 miles but I am telling myself 4 months ago I could barely run 1 minute.

First 5K is June 30. I’m scared. I know I will finish…but I don’t want to be the last one. I know it’s silly but it’s important to me.

Ugh, what a bummer about your jacket :( Sorry to hear that. Especially since it was your favorite one..and I KNOW leather jackets are NOT cheap. I cannot believe it went THROUGH the plastic bag! Wow! Good to know- because I ALWAYS pack hair spray. (can’t live without it!!)
Don’t even worry about your run- you are still ROCKING every run that you do!! Hey, even a mile is an accomplishment being pregnant! :)

Reply

I would have been in tears about the jacket. Sorry!!

Positive…my lunch was amazing and unexpectdly so (frozen Kashi meal). Negative…12 hour work day today.

I was planning to run my first full this year and still will if I can ever get better. :/

No sweat for me today….or tomorrow…or Thursday…. SIGH

I watched the Bachelor– but just last night. Haven’t been watching it religiously. My husband is an addict though– so when he had it on, I got sucked in. :)

Hi there, just started reading your blog! Just ran the Tinkerbell half…first one! And probably the OC Half in May, if I can get my butt in gear. Not too easy when I have a toddler running me in circles at home. I’m sorry for your tough run!! But on the positive side, it is refreshing to hear that even amazing runners have some tough runs now and then! Contests on your pregnancy too.
Didn’t watch The Bachelor…couldn’t quite get into it this season!
Negative today…no run in
Positive…right now enjoying a quiet house while my baby sleeps!

Reply

ERIKA!! Thanks so much for commenting! WAHOO…congrats on the Tinkerbell half, that is so awesome. You are going to rock the OC half and you better let me know how it is going. Thanks so much Erika! Ben made it really hard to get into this season ha. Enjoy nap time:)

That’s such a bummer about your jacket! I don’t know if you belong to any of the discount fashion sites but Ideeli.com constantly has cute leather jackets – including Michael Kors!

And I agree with everyone else – don’t worry about one bad run! You’re doing something even MORE amazing by carrying a beautiful baby!

Today’s negative – work is super frustrating and I realized I left my wallet at home today!

But the positive – I’m cooking dinner for my boyfriend tonight so I know he’ll be super jazzed and I love making him happy. And I had Yogurtland for lunch :)

Hi there! I read your blog last nigt and my fiancé saw all the awesome runners you interviewed. He’s an elite runner here on NYC so just wanted to let you know he wa very impressed. Ha! Usually he cares less about blogging. Anyway u looked awesome on the red carpet!

I’m running my first half-marathon THIS WEEKEND! And I’m so excited. It’s the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half-Marathon in Atlanta, and the weather should be phenomenal!

So today’s workout is an easy two-mile run.

I watched the last 5 minutes of the Bachelor just to see who he chose, but I actually need to catch up on the last 3 episodes. I hope you avoided the internet today, because it’s all over the place!

Reply

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND! You are going to rock it and will you please let me know how it goes!

FYI: Just say the DQ commercial and may have started to drool a little bit…..blizzards are buy one get one for 99 cents! Holla!

Hahaha I think you should totally start getting two fro yo cups! It only makes sense. Plus I’m sure the baby enjoys it’s own fro yo

4 days til first marathon! Sorry so excited and my real life friends can’t listen to me no more so I must take it to random blogs on the interwebs!

Boo on the jacket, I feel like bath/beauty things always explode in my bag no matter what I do as well. =(

Reply

Ugh nothing worse than when your hairspray or lotion explode in your suitcase! I’m so sorry, that is a super cute leather jacket too :(
That is so cool about Chloe! That definitely tops your negative!!!!
That’s so funny about your hair, I had to go back and look at the picture to see fi you were actually serious…ha not a bad idea though I guess! hahaha

Reply

I’m doing my first half at the end of the month! I am beyond excited! :D

Reply

BECKY, I am so so excited for you! Will you please let me know how it goes?!?!?

Reply

Sorry about your jacket. I am always worried when packing liquids in my luggage and wrap them in cling-wrap or snap-lock bags. Looks like a freak when I have to open my bags for inspection in New Zealand.

Btw, you look like a pro interviewing on the red carpet :)

Reply

Such a bummer about your jacket! That is so very cool that she replied on your blog.

Good job listening to your body, do NOT push it. Just wait til the belly starts to grow big…then it gets real interesting. You are doing amazing and are way more active than most non pregnant people in America. Be proud momma!

Yes I watched. No I was not surprised. Yes I want to shave his head!

Positive, my baby giving me kisses and cuddles. Negative, super stressed and on edge at work today and baby girl is cranky (she comes to the office with me…) ; (

First half since I stopped running 2 years ago, does that count?

I will be doing my Jillian Body Revolution and cussing at the tv at about 8pm tonight and then falling into bed.

Reply

Sorry about the jacket! I would probably get mad too.

I’m running my first marathon in May (10 weeks)! I can’t wait, and my training has gone so well so far. The best part is the weather is beautiful and warm this year, which is so much better than running through a snowstorm and slipping on ice.

If you can contact a dry cleaner that does leather they might be able to help. If they can’t clean it to where it comes out, they can dye it which would make it not noticeable anymore. I have a Burberry purse that was a gift and got a spot of bright green interior paint on it (don’t ask!) and trying to clean it off faded that spot and it can be dyed.

Maybe this will help you so you don’t have to get rid of it….

Reply

The negative: the thought of stress fracture over shin splints

The positive: soccer league championships tonight (no one better kick me in the shin!)

First 1/2: suppose to be April….

First full: Nov – NYC !

Reply

I have recently started getting the big froyo cups as well. More space for toppings!

Sorry to hear about your jacket! If it were me, I’d have shed some tears on that one.

Reply

Running my first full this year in May!

Negative: Giant laundry detergent leak in the cabinet!! At least everything smells clean now?
Positive: FROYO! And they had a malted candy egg flavor! And it was blue!

Can I just say, you are the cutest. I always save your blog to read last on my google reader because I know it will make me smile and I like to leave blog-land with a happy face.

Reply

Running my first marathon in 53 day! No sweat today though; it’s a rest day.

Watched the Bachelor; it’s my guilty pleasure!

Reply

That seriously sucks about your leather jacket! I would probably cry if that happened to me.
I remember when I was pregnant and there were some days that my body just felt “off” – here’s hoping that today was just a weird “off” day for you and that you’ll be back to running soon.
I’ve signed up for my first 1/2 on September 1st. I’m super excited and pretty nervous but I’ve signed up for my first 10k in May and a 62 mile relay in the mountains in June to get me ready for September. This way I’ll force myself to train :)

Reply

Negative — headache all weekend and carrying over
Positive — great time with family and friends tonight
Have walked 2 halfs and trying to do a run walk for this next one in June but keep getting hurt or sick grrrr.

Reply

I will be running my first 1/2 marathon in exactly 1 month and am super nervous, but super excited! I felt like I hit a wall in my training last week, so I’m a little worried because there are times I don’t feel I’m ready, but I’m determined to make this week a good one! I’m staying positive by reminding myself that I’ve been blessed with the health and ability to run!

Reply

I am running my first half in 2 weeks!!! Yikes!

P.S. It’s so funny you were talking about how crazy fast those athletes are, because just a couple days ago I was telling me husband that I couldn’t believe how fast your “leisurely prego runs” have been compared to my regular-fast-for-me-runs, and I would be sprinting if I ran as fast as you…….. All in perspective.

Reply

That is terrible about your jacket!

Mini eggs are my all-time favorite candy. Good thing they are only around for a few months.

Reply

Janae, thanks again for coming with us to Yogurtland for my birthday! It was so fun to meet you, you are just SUCH a delight. Thanks for all the encouraging words toward my first marathon. You definitely helped me feel much more confident and ready to go!! You are wonderful :)
