The Hunger Beast was Tamed

March 10, 2012

Turns out everything here is a lot nicer than what I am used to.  Our hotel room is going to make it really hard to go back to home to our house that was built in 1908 (not an exaggeration)….it was weird to take a shower with a shower head that actually had some water pressure and you could even choose your own water temperature.

Even the Golds Gym (the gym at the hotel is under construction and so they gave us Golds passes) was incredibly nice.  The locker room looked like a spa and the treadmills were touch screen with TV/ipod/everything hook-up.  There was even a boxing ring but Billy wouldn’t go in to spar with me…something about it not being safe.

I did knock out 8 miles and headed back on to shower.

When we were done we were hungry and when I get hungry lately I turn into even more of a beast than I used to and must be fed within 10 minutes or else there will be a meltdown.

I had the Lumberjack Omelet with hash browns and toast.

Billster had the breakfast burrito and I helped him finish it off, his was better:)

Time to get ready for Endurance Live!!!

PS I just ran into Chrissy Wellington (4 time World Ironman Champion) in the hall and my heart is beating so fast I can barely think straight.  I started stuttering because I was so nervous and was tempted to give her a big hug and go on and on about how cool I think she is but I will save that for tonight.

————————————————————–

Where you HOT, COLD or JUST RIGHT for your workout today?

-That gym was crazy hot, we each went through a ridiculous amount of water bottles.

Do you like omelets?  What are your favorite omelet add ins?

Saturdays are usually errand days for us so what errands have you done today?

Anyone racing this weekend?

You don’t want to be around me when I am hungry…I have a two minute rule: My food must be ready to eat within two minutes when I come home famished. Makes for some interesting combos of food. Haha. I HATE being hot when I work out. The forty degree weather during my run was perfect this morning.

my workout was hot and super sweaty today! i’m in san antonio where it’s super humid as it is PLUS it’s stormy today, making it extra humid. it definitely made me appreciate our utah dry air!
my favorite omelet add-ins are: avocado, mushrooms, and bacon with pepperjack cheese!

We went to Wendover last night and saw the Bare Naked Ladies in concert… Fun! The funny thing is that this morning for breakfast I had an omelet and my husband had a breakfast burrito. Great minds think alike!

Hope you’re having a great time!

The weather was great here in Georgia today for my run … sunny and in the 50′s. But the hills here are killing me! They are challenging to get used to!

And we went to Verizon today … that was our only errand! :)

My house was built in 1910 so I can relate!! Luckily it was remodeled in 2003 before we moved in, but still has a lot of original stuff. We love our old house though!

My run was hot today! It was warmer than usual and I over dressed. But it felt nice to have the heat of the sun on my skin again! I hate hot gyms! BLECH!

LOVE omelets! I like to load mine with veggies – peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, spinach….. and CHEESE please!

Sundays are usually our errand day, when we are in town for church. But today we ran to the grocery in our little town for allergy meds and coffee. Random but absolutely necessary.

My workout temp was perfect today, it’s 60 today here in the good ol’ UT and that’s how I like it.

The only errand I’ve done today is grocery shopping, but it yielded some pink lady apples so that’s a definite success. Hope you’re having fun! You guys are adorbs.

You look gorgeous!! I have that shirt, too!! I had an awesome ten mile run this morning. I must say I went from really cold to hot back to cold, lol. It was only 26 degrees this morning and windy. In the afternoon it was sunny and much warmer but our group run starts at 8am. Have a great day!!

Everyone knows to not let me get too hungry – it’s not pretty. Apparently I’ve been that way since birth. No sense in trying to change it now. :)

I love all the regular omelet stuff like cheese, mushrooms, peppers, onions, etc., but lately I’ve been adding in fresh basil, goat cheese, and strawberry jam (homemade). OMG it’s amazing.

Can I just say that you are the most adorable girl ever?!?!?! Seriously!

cait March 10, 2012 at 5:18 pm

You do look great!!!As does all that food.I had an omelet for dinner the other night, yum.Idk I never let myself get too hungry I feel like I am always eating something!
I was cold, hot, cold, hot cold…38 when I got in the pool(outside) but warmed up fast-hard workout-then cold when I started my short bike ride, then hot, then it started raining and I am cold again!
Soooo amazing to meet Chrissie she is awesome.Enjoy the rest of your trip:)

Well I did something that I havent done before….I swam and then ran right after…it was crazy how good it felt. I love swimming and can’t for the life of me think of a good reason why I stopped. But as a general rule the gym is OMG hot!

Did your super duper delux treadmills have a decline????

Liz @ Tip Top Shape March 10, 2012 at 5:30 pm

I love omelets! I usually go with the regular ham-cheese combo, but this place by me has the most amazing corned beef hash omelet. I think I would give up my first born child for one of those, lol.

Angela @ Happy Fit Mama March 10, 2012 at 5:32 pm

When I was pregnant my husband lived in fear of me being hungry! He kept extra snacks hidden in his car and jacket pockets in case the “beastie” came out.

Omelets are so good! I can never make them just right at home so it’s always a treat to have it out for breakfast.

Have a blast tonight! I can’t wait to hear the recap.

Omelettes are my favorite breakfast food. Loaded with salsa! Saturday’s are consumed with t-ball and baseball these days. I ran/walked my a 5k with my sis and it was hot! Summer has arrived in Florida!

Reply

Alaina March 10, 2012 at 5:56 pm

I raced this morning! It was my 4th year doing this St. Pat’s 5k and I PR’d the course! And I was 10 seconds off from my PR from last weekend. But it was beautiful weather for it!

Reply

Amanda March 10, 2012 at 5:57 pm

It was JUST RIGHT. A little chilly when I first started running, but by mid-run, it was the perfect temperature! No race this morning, just a 5-mile easy run. That omelet you’re eating looks amazing. I’m meeting my aunt for brunch tomorrow morning and I wasn’t sure what I was going to eat. I’m pretty sure it’ll be an omelet!

I ran outside today with my dog and it was gorgeous, but deceptively cold! Tomorrow’s long run might be on the treadmill, there are only so many hours I can spend in sub-zero temperatures… I end up spending hours trying to warm up again but still feel cold in my bones!

That gym looks amazing, I’m jealous! Haha the gym I go to is brutal. Costs a small fortune per month and there aren’t NEAR enough treadmills, old equipment, etc.

Have fun tonight – I can’t wait to hear about it!! :)

i bet hungry runner #2 was happy about the yummy omelette as well! my favourite add-ins: mushrooms, spinach, green/red peppers (actually any peppers!), celery, tomatoes, zucchini, ummm. every veggie that will fit in there, basically!

today was all about WORK! i also got the dishes & homework out of the way yesterday, so when i got home i just changed into my pajamas, did an ab workout and then lounged on the couch with some tea, a grapefruit & a little bowl of kashi cereal!

My workout was cold, it has been around 50-60 degrees all week and today it was 39! I over dressed and ended up getting too hot, so I had to take off my gloves and head band and shove them into my sports bra! It worked so I was happy about it.

Have fun in California!
