A post in numbers

-I have eaten 6 Grilled cheese sandwiches WITH the required strawberry jelly on top and glass of milk in the last 3 days.

-7 Miles in 59 minutes ran on the good ol’ tready this morning while watching the Biggest Loser.  2 AWESOME runs in a row, I could get used to this.  PS Some people have asked about my treadmill and it is the Nordic Track C900 and we both absolutely love it, no complaints here.

-14 times that I almost got blown off the road driving to work this morning….

Photo 2

-35 sad PE students and 1 REALLY sad PE teacher because we couldn’t go outside and play sports today.

-567,302 times that I thought about what to make for dinner…..I have issues.

-Came back to 19 text messages after being away from my phone for 4 minutes.  No, I don’t have a lot of friends, Billy’s family does a group text message and they are incredibly speedy texters.  11 updates on my phone that I will never do, Billy loves that I never update my electronics.

-1 incredible free taco salad for lunch after working in the lunch room:)

-1 minute until I eat my Soyjoy Apple Walnut bar.

-2.4 minutes I spent getting ready this morning, hence why I am using the bar to cover myself up:)

-3 areas that I chaffed because of above mentioned run.

-1 stop made during drivers ed because a vanilla ice cream cone was what I NEEDED.

Biggest loser is one of the most motivating show to watch while working out! :D
I would love to own a treadmill, but will have to wait on that.. on the wishlist currently..

I’ve never added jam to my grilled cheese but I like fruits with cheese so I probably would like it :P

Reply

It really is so motivating especially while watching the ‘final workout.’ Try the jam/grilled cheese combo and let me know what you think!

cute post:) That ice cream looks so good, I love soft serve more than ice cream. 5 the number of minutes I held plank position today! I’m competing with my mom. she did five on friday. I actually did 5 minutes and 10 seconds today:)
I can’t believe the pace you are able to keep up while pregnant! That’s amazing. good for you! and great run!
Have a great night!!

I think you deserve some soft serve today. FIVE MINUTES and TEN SECONDS, girl you are absolutely incredible…my hero. Thanks Katie and have a fun night!

Reply

seriously, that is incredible. 5 minutes. Yikes.

Reply

oh man, Janae… your food pictures killl me! I now have to try strawberry jam on my next grilled cheese and probably won’t be able to stop thinking about it until I actually make one.

Reply

I think that you should have one (or two or three) for dinner tonight….so good!

Reply

Have never had the grilled cheese w/ jelly before but it sounds interesting! I always hear about ppl eating that with eggs too. Will have to try it one of these days.

Hmm…roughly 15 minutes til I leave work and have dinner with friends…then 2 hours til I will be home with my feet up, compression sleeves on, recovering from my half I rocked yesterday! :)

Just yesterday, while at my parentals, my husband was making a grilled cheese sandwich for my son & my mom told him he should put jam on the sandwich. Both Ross and I declared that the weirdest thing ever. But my mom said that is how they ate it growing up. Perhaps it is a UC thing?? lol.

I have ONE cheapo treadmill I got on black Friday several years ago and I only use it if absolutely necessary because it is not great. The deck is short and I stare at a wall and the incline doesn’t work. Yaaaa. One day I will have a nice one in my super awesome home gym. A girl can dream right?

And about 1,500 is the amount of times I thought my house was going to blow over this morning! It was crazy windy!

The wallpaper on my phone is a pic of me with my fam. Love it. And I never do my updates either. They are annoying ;)

Reply

30 minutes on the stairclimber (moving staircase)
2.0 miles on treadmill (16 minutes)

Now, I have 2 tired, jello-y legs.
Fun post! :D

Never had jelly on a grilled cheese. 1 missing preschooler for twenty minutes today….he wanted to hide from his teacher. So frustrating! My wallpaper is a firework in the sky…i love fireworks!

thanks for the shout out, sweet friend! Billy is sitting here on the couch with me and we’re laughing about your driver’s ed trip to get an ice cream cone. <3

Love reading your blog! I am expecting, as well (#3), and every time I see you post about soft serve ice cream/yogurt my mouth waters. My Doc advised against soft serve during pregnancy…curious to know what yours said about it?

Reply

First, CONGRATS Sarah! I am so happy for you:) WHAT….no soft serve?!?! My doc hasn’t said a thing about that and I have never heard of that before. What was the reasoning?

Reply

Okay, curiosity had me google it. Did you? Here is what I found.

Why I have I never thought to put jam on grilled cheese? That sounds magnificent.

I’ve never heard of jam on a grilled cheese! But if you say it’s good, then I have to believe it! ;)

I’m bad about doing technology updates, too. I think my blog has like 13 updates it keeps alerting me about. And guess how many I’ve actually paid attention to … ? ;)

This post made me laugh. I love it. Numbers for my day…. 2 therapeutic holds that I got into at work… 1 mountain dew that I drank… 3 reports that I worked on…

My background on my phone is a picture of my significant other staring off into the sky. Makes me smile.

6am spin class felt easy and I burned 523 calories. Fridays class felt hardcore and I only burned 499 calories. Maybe I am getting stronger/weaker, as I’m not sure this was a good thing or bad.
3.33 miles ran in 40 minutes. Pushed myself too hard. Got off treadmill and I felt sick. Heart rate monitor said I was only in the zone 24 mins. The rest of the time I was above. :(
7 containers of Greek yogurt were purchased by me today. 2 already have been consumed…by me.

Do not own a treadmill. I run most my runs outside and the rest on a treadmill at my gym.

Grilled Cheese with jelly on top? Is this a preganat thing?

Reply

I add mayo, salt, pepper, and a slice of tomato to my grilled cheese’s. Yum! And if I have it, bacon. I’ve never heard of jelly, but I’ll give anything a shot once :) I never update my phone either, and it drives my husband crazy.

*8 piano lessons taught today
*1 big bowl of oatmeal with 2 pairs cooked into it for breakfast
*4 measly miles on the treadmill, and I don’t know what kind it is, sorry.
*1,259 times I’ve thought about my insane idea I’m doing this Saturday! I’m turning the ripe old age of 46 and am planning a run/walk totaling 46 miles (get it?) to Salt Lake. I should end right by the SLC temple at my hubby’s sister’s house. Hubby and the boys will drive me home after the men’s conference session. Am I totally nuts? Yeah, I think so too.

Reply

8 piano lessons…WOW!! Okay, I saw your idea for your birthday on Facebook and I think it is the best idea EVER. Seriously, you really should do it and I want to hear ALL ABOUT IT!!!! I need pictures too:)

1 can of beans I just ate for dinner. 2 cups of coffee I drink every morning (one during aerobics class). 3 soon classes taught today. 4 hours of sleep last night. 5 more days until I get to see my husband (he works across the country for 1/2 of every month).
I would like a treadmill at the house, but I don’t have one. I do have lots of weights, steps, bands, and a TRX!

Reply

That ice cream looks so good! Why weren’t you my driver’s ed teacher :)?

Reply

wow, jelly on a grilled cheese. Sounds like something that started with pregnancy cravings and never left, but I don’t think that’s the case.

I love my treadmill. A Nordictrack Commerical 1500. It is the greatest purchase I have ever made after my kindle in terms of changing my life. As a man, I of course belive in bonding with my electronics, and the 1500 is my kindred spirit and we are brothers by another mother.

I do recomend it highly.

Reply

Billy has your exact same theory about the importance of bonding with electronics. HAHAH I think you are right about the jam on grilled cheese!

Reply

I wish I had a treadmill! Sadly no room in this apartment!

I’ve never tried jelly on a grilled cheese… but I put avocado and ketchup on mine last night!

Reply

I just have to tell you that laughing cow + wheat thins have been my husband and my’s (<– that can't be right, but I'm too lazy to really think about what it should be) favorite snack for the past year! You have to try the Garlic and Herb flavor of cheese…it's the best and it's purple! :)

Reply

HAHAH I think my’s is right;) Okay now you have me wanting to drive to the store right this second for the Garlic and Herb flavor…THANKS!! PS plus purple, I must have it!

I love this post for so many reasons, but mostly for the idea of adding jam to grilled cheese. I can really see that becoming a nightly tradition for me. Have you always been doing that or is it a pregnancy craving thing? Also, where is that cone from? For some reason it looks extra delicious!

Reply

HEY GORGEOUS!! How the heck are you? I need details. PS I will be in AZ in June for sure. My whole family has done it for about ten years and it fits in perfectly with my cravings!

Hi! New reader here and wanted to say I LOVE your blog. As for the dreadmill, yes I have a Sole and I have a love-hatred thing going on. It’s the best TM I’ve ever used but I dislike having to use one. I’m very fortunate to have one in my living room taking up valuable real estate, but it’s the only place I can put it where I would use it.

Numbers:
*135–fasting glucose which means my diabetes is spinning wildly out of my control.
* 8, 858–number of steps today before I ran. Love my fitbit!
* 47–number of episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond on my DVR

Wallpaper on my phone: “DONE”. The grey/black picture for University of Alabama fans after winning football national championship in January.

Genius idea putting the cone on top – other wise things get too messy (I like to savor my ice cream)! 40 minutes is how long I snoozed this morning before finally hauling my butt to the gym!

Reply

We have a FreeMotion Incline Treadmill. It goes up to 30 degrees incline, which happens once in a blue moon.

Jam on a grilled cheese? Yes! I love the sweet and savory combo of cheese and fruit, especially something like fig or apple.

My husband is the same. I hate technology and he is always fixing stuff, buying the latest and greatest, and updating the software and applications. I could care less, I just want it to work.

Reply

My number today is 9: 9 hours of driving back to school!

Raspberry jam, cheddar cheese, and apple slices is where it’s at!! Or jabanero jam and spinach…mmm….

It was very windy here as well yesterday so here goes:

The wall paper on my phone is my brother’s dog (she’s a golden, about 9 months old) with a green hat on her head for St. Patrick’s day. It’s insanely adorable. And I’ve never heard of anyone putting jelly on their grilled cheese!

We have the same treadmill and it’s glorious.

The background of my phone is a picture of bungee’s nose and teeth. I call it her hillbilly teeth. It’s ridiculously hilarious.

I did 7 miles this morning on my treadmill too. We’re workout twins.

I love that you got all of those texts at 8:04am.

I do not own a treadmill, but I am having a love affair with the ones they have at my Y (don’t tell my hubby). I never thought I would enjoy running on a treadmill – but they are like running on AIR.

9 days until Easter break at school.
13 days until I can eat fruit again (and sweet potatoes!).
59 days until we get out for summer break!!!

Not being able to eat carbs right now makes it really hard for me to read your blog hahaha! :)

Before I answer your questions, I have to say I am so jealous of your paces while running pregnant! 7 miles in 59 minutes is amazing. I ran this morning and was only able to get in 6 miles in 66 minutes!! I can’t wait to be able to run hard and fast again.

I don’t own a treadmill, but I sure wish I did! maybe after the baby is born we can find it in our budget to purchase one.

The wall paper on my phone is a picture of the last running sticker I put on my car. its says “ultra”. :-)

I’ve never added jam or jelly but now I want to try it.

Oh, and I used to have a Horizon treadmill, but it died =( and now I’m treadmill-less.

And I like the jam/jelly on grilled cheese.

And the wallpaper on my phone is a creek, not sure how to describe it, but there are rocks that kind of look like steps and water is flowing down them. And the lock screen is one of my dogs, Melvyn, laying on the floor with one of his stuffed animals (that’s almost as big as he is) in his mouth.

I just barely got a treadmill last Thursday. It’s a Reebok V8.90 from Costco. It seemed to have good reviews and I like it so far but time will tell whether or not it’s a decent one. I love that it has built in speakers and it came with 3 iFit cards. Now I just need to build a shelf on the wall in front of it so I can watch my tv shows while I run.
My grandpa used to eat cheese and crackers with strawberry jam. I’ve tried to acquire a taste for it but it’s just not happening. My latest addiction is quinoa (with a little butter and salt) and black beans. Yummy!

I NEED one of those grilled cheese sandwiches with jam!

Reply

I have never heard of grilled cheese sandwiches with jam on top. I had to think about it for a min but I think it is something that I would like.

Reply

Never had jam and grilled cheese, but I do love to spread preserves on cheese and crackers. Baked brie in puffy pastry with a little bit of raspberry preserves smeared ontop will knock your socks off.

Just updated my iPhone this weekend, I had 45 updates and it took 2+ hours for them load.

Reply

That grilled cheese with jelly actually sounds good and Im NOT pregnant:). I love whole wheat English muffins with egg, cheese and jelly so I’m betting that would be similar to a cheese sandwich with jelly.

I just got a treadmill for my birthday and it’s the Livestrong 10.0, I LOVE it!! Love not having to drive to the gym every morning to workout too. My husband set it up in our garage and I watch Netflix on my phone while running. It’s my only “me” time during a day filled with teaching high schoolers math and taking care of my own 3 little boys.

Have a great Tuesday! When is your spring break? Mine is next week, can’t wait!

So… to win a bet I have to know if you were in Colorado this weekend? My 15 year old daughter and I LOVE your blog and when we parked at Wolf Creek Ski Area in Pagosa Springs this weekend we were behind a car from Utah – Utah plate in front, NM plate in back- but, with “RNRGIRL” on the rear plate, St. George Marathon sticker on one bumper, Boston 26.2 sticker on other side of bumper. My daughter is convinced it was you…I’m pretty sure it wasn’t ! Help me win the bet and she is buying me froyo! :)

Reply

Looks like you win fro yo!! I wasn’t in Colorado this weekend but I am jealous you were and I WANT that license plate…I might have to get a similar one. Your sweet words made my day!! I think you and your daughter should come out to Utah for froyo:)

My Nonna (grandmother) always added jelly in grilled cheese … she did placed the jelly inside … I do it now … not every time … but when I do … the memories start flooding … :)
