After having to take 2 weeks off because of some muscles spasms in my back, I got to run again today PAIN FREE. My 5 miles were great, and it has jump started my 1 month countdown to the Hot Chocolate 15K.

Reply

Jenn @ RunItMyWay February 25, 2012 at 4:41 pm

Congratulations, that’s awesome!!
I ran a half today too and it wasn’t too bad! We were supposed to have really awful weather (ice pellets and 10 cm of mixed rain and snow, 50 gusting to 80km/h winds) and the snow/ ice let up before we started, so that was amazing! Haha the wind was rough (and it was a headwind on the way back) but it seemed good compared to what we were supposed to have!! Overall I’m pretty happy, I took 16 minutes off my old half marathon pb :)

You all did AWESOME! Looks like great weather for a fun race too!

I went for a run today, but it was a bit of a dud. Oh well. I got to go shopping at Trader Joe’s today, so today wasn’t a complete flop. I bought some of their PB Choc Chip cookies….. they make everything seem okay. I heart TJ’s.

Your sister is gorgeous! From your blog I’m guessing she has three kids? I’d like to know her secret to getting her body back. It would be awesome if she did a guest post on how to get back in shape after babies (as that is what I’m trying to do).

Glad you had fun racing!

Fantastic times for all of you, congrats!

We got take out Indian for dinner, and my dessert was Cadbury Mini Eggs…super yummy!

My brain was dying to run, but my body is exhausted from training/skiing/hard nights on my feet at work, so I skipped running today…I figured I better rest up because my half marathon training begins for real on Monday.

Reply

Lauren February 25, 2012 at 9:50 pm

Oooh Janae…I did a 20 mile race today…my longest run period since the one and only marathon I did 3 years ago! The weather: 32 degrees but with winds so strong power was knocked out in a few places and it snowed from miles 10-13. Annnd I couldn’t get my Garmin to turn on. So I felt realllly great about this one ;) BUT somehow my body decided to be awesome and I finished in 2 hr 40 min on the dot!!! :-D I can hardly walk right now and even sitting hurts but I’m getting there with mileage and at least I know I can do it!!!

p.s. I put 300 violin orchestra at the top of my playlist so that when I hit the last two miles I had it on repeat!! it was perfect!!

I’m so glad you and your sister had a fun run :)

Reply

Janae February 26, 2012 at 4:03 pm

LAUREN!! Congrats on your 20 mile race and the crazy weather…girl, you are out of control and you had such a speedy time!!! WAY TO GO!! Isn’t that the best song. Have an amazing day! How are you feeling today? You really rocked that 20 miles!

Reply

Lauren February 26, 2012 at 4:17 pm

You are the sweetest, thank you!! :) I wanted to do a small shake out run today but my one knee is really sore and so is the outside of my left foot :( I’m not sure what that’s about and I’m hoping it’s just because my body isn’t used to that much mileage at once?? So I’m taking it easy to not get injured!! But it was fun and I’m already planning my next race!!!

Reply

Amber February 25, 2012 at 10:23 pm

I also raced Dogtown and finished in 1:46:15. I PR’d. :)
