Grilled pineapple and for your viewing pleasure:

by Janae on February 19, 2012

Tucanos is a restaurant in our area that is our absolute favorite.  Only problem is that it costs more than our trip for a week of groceries does at Costco.

For your bday Tucanos sends you a coupon for a free meal to use anytime during your bday month.  That plus getting there right before the dinner price starts= pretty cheap for incredible food.  Running 14 miles right before going to Tucanos is an excellent idea, just in case you were wondering.

Round 1 of 58 is below, I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I was too busy eating it.  Billy always thinks it is silly that I go to the salad bar and fill up on salad followed by a plate of mashed potatoes and cheese filled rolls but those are my favorite things and the delicious meat is just an added bonus.

IMG 9292

The servers come around and offer you grilled pineapple marinated in brown sugar which is the best thing you will ever eat in your life.  I have canker sores now from eating an entire pineapples worth of it.  My other favorite parts of what the servers bring around to your table are garlic sirloin, turkey wrapped in bacon and mango cod.  The cod was everyone’s favorite.

Photo copy 3

The little block on the table is to tell them whether to keep coming or stop,  we had the green end up for way too long.  What does one do after running for 2 hours followed by eating for 2 hours?  Turn off every light in the house and see how long we can nap for, which surprisingly turned out to be 2 hours.  Now that is a productive day for you.  What does it feel like to have responsibilities?

And for your viewing pleasure:  My niece dressed up as a princess and a ninja at the exact same time.

Round two for you viewing pleasure: Janae at midnight getting her chocolate strawberry on….is scary.

PS did anyone watch Modern Family this last week?  HILARIOUS!

Have you ever tried grilled pineapple?  What did you think of it?  What is your favorite grilled meat (if you eat meat)?  Do you like cod?

What are you most looking forward to today?

-It’s a rest day and my body needs it!

What is currently your favorite form of social media (besides blogging)?  Facebook, instagram, twitter, google plus, myspace, path, pinterest, daily mile, others?

-Instagram!  I rarely post but I wait all day to check it so that there are a bunch of new pictures to see, I am hooked.

I love that picture of your neice. I cracked up laughing.

I got 3 (fast for me) miles in yesterday, and was planning on doing 5 today, but my body hurts in places that I didn’t know it could from running. I might just walk my 5 today (boring).

I want to go to Costco. hmm…froyo!

Mmm the grilled pineapple looks amazing :) I’m allergic to it, but sometimes I’ll eat it anyway because it’s delicious and worth the agony and swollen tongue after!

I’m kind of hooked on Pinterest right now, surprisingly! I am OBSESSED with finding running photos and motivational photos and pinning them… And of making collages of cute stylish running gear. I think I need a life :-P

love grilled pineapple and cod. I must go to that restaurant next month when I go to Utah. I don’t do instagram but want to try it. You guys injecting strawberries is too funny. MF was dang funny this week, the best was Claire’s scary hair and makeup the morning after…my kids think I look like that after a rough night. :-) I ran 11 miles yesterday, went great except I had never worn my running shorts, I got chaffed on my thighs. I should have listened to my 13 year old when he said they didn’t look good. Lol I am sore today, tired feet. Have a good one. Did you darken the bottom of your hair again?

16 Janae February 19, 2012 at 3:31 pm

HEY YOU!!! Wait…you are coming to Utah?!? We must hang out! CONGRATS on your 11 miles yesterday, that is awesome. NOOOO I hate chaffing, it is so painful when you get in the shower. I didn’t darken my hair…I think it was just the lighting or maybe it is fading ha. Hope you are having a relaxing day!

I am solely a Facebook girl. I’ve tried to get into Pinterest for about 30 seconds one day and just didn’t get it.

Today I’m looking forward to getting in the 10 miles I missed yesterday but mostly I’m looking forward to having tomorrow off for President’s Day! :)

That picture of you with the needle and strawberry is hilarious!! You look like you are getting your much needed fix of that stuff!

Modern Family is our favorite show, we laugh out loud every week! I think Claire makes me laugh the most because she is spastic mom and I am afraid I might turn into one of those too.

Today is chore day, gotta get things ready for the week. I look forward to a clean house with clean clothes and a stocked frig by the end of the day!

My husband and I love tucanos. We also take advantage of their birthday club free meal which means we only go twice a year – once for his birthday and once for mine. The salad bar and grilled pineapple are easily my favorites too! :)

That grilled pineapple looks awesome! I don’t think I’ve ever had grilled pineapple before. I recently had Cod for the first time. But I just bought it at the frozen section of the grocery store. I actually though that it was tilapia when I was buying it, but it was pretty good. It was potato crusted cod.

Okay well this is just reason #84682 why you need to move here ASAP and be my friend: it’s traditional/normal for burgers here to contain slices of grilled (or sometimes raw.. depends on the place) pineapple. You sold? Okay see you in like 20 hours bye!

we went to tucano’s for v-day. it is one of our faves! they had specials that night…filet mignon and shrimp. oh MY. i think i ate an ocean worth of shrimp that night. and my husband says the same thing about the salad bar. he won’t go near it. he doesn’t want to waste any room in his belly..has to save it all for meat. but those potatoes! and those rolls! good thing we are planning our next trip there already. we’ll probably have to save for 384 years. no biggie.
