I Accomplished My 7 Day Challenge.

I can now die happy.  I am the Team Refuel Athlete of the Month…you can see it here on Facebook but you didn’t think I would skip out on plastering a huge picture of myself on the blog too?!?!

Screen Shot 2012 01 03 at 6 03 25 PM

Yesterday I got home from school, grabbed a bowl of cereal and drifted into a deep sleep, sitting up with my feet on the table.  I am not even exaggerating, you can even ask Billy.  I don’t remember the last time I was tired enough to sleep sitting up but I guess this is what the first day of the semester will do to you.

While I slept Billy got to work on dinner.  He made brown rice in the rice cooker (he made as much as the cooker holds and freezes the leftovers for easy heat up) and cooked the chicken in our Sous Vide.  The Sous Vide is our meat/veggie/egg cooker that cooks using water.  You place the chicken (or whatever you are cooking) and the seasonings in a Ziploc bag and then enter in the correct temperature and time and let it do its work, it was so good and I am now requesting he makes this at least once a week.

And for dessert……

IMG 1433

I didn’t mention it on the blog but on Christmas after my sis and I ate 2 full plates of dessert and felt completely sick we dared each other to go for a week without candy/ice cream/fro-yo/cake/cookies etc.  We both did it.

The first few days were both really weird for us especially when we tried to run (we didn’t lower calories but instead replaced the junk calories with fruit and other healthier sources), our bodies were both so used to running off of sugar that it didn’t know what to do.   By day 4 I felt AWESOME.  It has been a little over a week and my sis is still going strong but I love candy and I am just going to have it in moderation now instead of 5 times a day.

Turns out all of that sugar isn’t good for you….I am getting so SMRT (please tell me you have seen that Simpson’s episode and if not, yes I meant to spell smart incorrectly).

I think I need a fro-yo run, it has been way to long……..MOM?!?! Today, after school;)

Here’s to a little bit more moderation of candy and ice-cream on HRG 2012.  Keyword:  A LITTLE.

If you eat chicken….what is your favorite chicken dish?

Are you going to watch the Biggest Loser this season?

-Yes, I can’t wait to watch it on hulu as I workout this morning!

How long was the longest you have gone without treats?  How long do you think you could go without treats?  Do you think lowering your sugar intake would affect your running a lot?

-For my first marathon I went without it for my entire training cycle and I think it helped big time.

Ah, how I wish I could eat a little less candy/chocolate. Alas- I love them too much. But you said it helped your training? That is interesting to think about because I do want to run faster… hmmm!

My fave chicken dish is chicken parmagiana, served aussie style with chips and veg!

Reply

Congrats! I love roasted chicken and any chicken dish that has a spicy sauce like curry. Your so fancy with your sous vide.

I have not watched BL at all, but am planning on getting back into all the TV shows when I move back to the states to make up for lost time.

I think I need to go on a sugar hiatus…I have been riding the wave of holiday treats and frozen yogurt since I set foot in the states.

Reply

I don’t really have a favorite chicken dish. Well, maybe sesame chicken. I will watch Biggest Loser later today. I gave up soda once. I didn’t really notice a difference in my running. I don’t eat a lot of candy. A few gummy bears here and there.

Way to go Janae! Although when I first saw that pic, I thought it was Ashley Simpson.

And congrats on giving up sugar for a week! It can’t have been easy. I’ve set myself a goal of limiting my intake of soda (replace your normal candy intake with Coke and that’s me!) and those first few days are the worst. I’m looking forward to feeling better though and not getting the wicked intense first-thing-in-the-morning cravings!!!

I get sucked into watching BL each season! An unrealistic portrayal of weight loss for the average person but still inspiring.

Impressive!

Reply

Cajun spice + cayenne pepper + franks red hot sauce + bbq’d chicken = amazing!

Congrats on going 7 days without candy! I’m seriously impressed! And a huge congrats for being athlete of the month!

I’m going to watch biggest loser this morning.. I’m home sick :( boo

Reply

Love the biggest loser! I watched half of it but then fell asleep. The show is so long! I’ll have to hulu it later too.

Every year for lent I try and give up candy and every year I fail about 3 weeks in.. it’s bad I know.. clearly I need to work on self control!

Reply

Wow way to go on the no sweets for 7 days! I don’t know if I could completely go without but I’ve barely eaten any since Sunday! I think I sugared out over the past 2 weeks…I sat with a plate of cookies in front of me on Monday and didn’t even break off a bite…who am I! I find after cutting back on artificial sweeteners (including Diet Coke) my sweet cravings have severely reduced..thank goodness! Have a great day, my friend!

CONGRATS, athlete of the month!!!!

I had a similar sugar situation to yours on Christmas a few years back and I gave up sugary junk for 1 month, and and did the A LITTLE thing for the following year. I felt amazing, and to this day have a hard time with sugar excpet for an after dinner dessert. I think you will love the mental clarity of less sugar too.

Family favorite: rice krispie chicken.

Reply

I have never heard of this Sous Vide (sp?) I am going to have to google it!

Good for you for getting athlete of the month!!

Reply

Congrats Janae! I have never fully taken sweets out of my diet. I have moderated them quite a bit at times but I can never become sugarless….it just isn’t in the cards.

Reply

Great job on no sugar for a week. I am a candy addict and that would be like 7 days in the desert without water. I think the longest I’ve gone without a treat is 4 minutes.

Reply

Congrats!

Ever since the season with Ron and Mike (where I cried watching every.single.episode) I don’t want BL anymore! I’m in need of fro you too.

Reply

I don’t think I could give up the sweets entirely either. I would be interesting to try…but to torturous. I think a little is key ;)

Reply

ummm..the link isn’t to face book..but some cool jewelry… :)

Reply

ha ha ha thanks for the heads up….I just fixed it wahoo!

Good to know that Biggest Loser is on Hulu! I was so sad that I forgot to watch it last night. I need to do your 7 day challenge…no candy, salty/snacks, or diet coke. Fro-yo sure sounds good though. Congrats on TF Athlete of the month btw!

Reply

Biggest Loser was AWESOME last night!!! :) AND if I lived in Utah, I would TOTALLY be all over the fro-yo tonight!!!

Reply

Congrats on going a week without sweets! I wish I could do that, but it would be so hard. I would really like to cut sugar out of my diet for a peeiod of time to “reprogram” my tastebuds. I heard that when you do it, you won’t need as much or any sugar anymore for thinga to taste sweet. Interesting!

Reply

I went without treats for two months before my marathon. It was awesome and I felt great. Apparently, I’d rather eat sweets than feel great, though, because I went right back to them after the race :).

Reply

Congratulations! What an awesome accomplishment!
I love watching BL on Hulu when I’m running on the treadmill and any chicken is good chicken ;)

Reply

I had plain ol’ grilled chicken with plain ol’ grilled onions on top last night, and it was fabulous. Cheap, easy, lean, and fabulous.

I think I’ll skip BL. I’d watch it, but I don’t see why the episodes are so friggin’ long. I don’t have the patience for that. haha

Reply

I’ve never gotten rid of all sweets, but I did give up candy for lent last year. I eat candy almost every day, so that was huge. It was hard at first, but at the end I didn’t really want it. But of course I forced myself to have some, and then there was no stopping me. : )

Reply

I am so excited for the new season of BL. I cannot believe I didn’t know it premiered yesterday. But I am sure glad I have hulu plus.

Reply

I am giving up sugar for 100 days! I am on day 4 and already feel so much better, especially after so much sugar during the holidays!

Reply

I’ve been on a serious fro-yo kick this week.. twice so far, and it’s only Wednesday! D’oh! Congrats on the athlete of the month!

Reply

omg. i’m on day 4 of no candy and it’s HARD! I ate SO much candy and treats during December that I declared January “No Candy Month”. I’m still allowed to have one dessert a day though as long as it’s not candy!

Reply

We made chicken Greek wraps last night, I seasoned the chicken with Oregano and Mint it was really good. But now we are trying to reduce the amount of meat we eat, so I will try to only have meat 2-3 times a week.
After a treat every day in December I need to go on a detox here, but am still craving sweets. I am aiming for a couple treats a week, I do not think I could go any longer than a few days!

Reply

Wow -week without sweets!! I have to have a little sweetness after every meal, even just a Hershey kiss. I think it helps to not go all out. I gave up cookies for lent once, it was hard! I didn’t feel any different just missed my cookies!

Reply

I don’t eat a lot of chicken but when I do, I like it roasted!
I can go 3 days without candy/sugar but on the 4th day I crumble. I’ve tried to quit a lot and really need to learn moderation, rather than all or nothing. I’ve found fresh medjool dates are a good sub. I find them so sickly I rarely have more than 3 :)

Reply

I’m really lazy when it comes to cooking–the easier the better. I throw 2 or 3 frozen chicken breasts in my big skillet with about a cup of water, some minced onion & garlic and Italian seasoning, plop the lid on, set the heat to med/low and come back in about an hour. Side of rice or quinoa and I’m all set.

I can go pretty long without chocolate, but Skittles, chewy sweet tarts, stuff like that gets me. Congrats on being the athlete of the month! Cute picture also. :) I haven’t watched BL in a while. I don’t have TV, so I’ll only be able to watch it if it is on Hulu.

(Will you hop over to my blog and be my friend?? I only have 2 so far since I just started up the new one after having to delete the old one. )

Reply

I love making chili with ground chicken :)

Reply

chicken is the only reason i wouldnt be able to be a vegetarian…i tend to eat alot of fish otherwise…but my favorite chicken dishes = buffalo wings (duh), i also love rotiserrie chicken and kevins cap’n crunch chicken :)

no biggest loser for me :/

i’m also one of those people that runs off sugar highs all the time..its pretty bad. my goal this year is also to eat less sugar (moderation, id never be able to completely cut it out)…but first gotta finish up our christmas candy…hahaha.

p.s. i’m pretty much set on registering for chicago next month, if you are running it i’ll see you there lady!!!! :D

Reply

I am smart I am smart S-M-R-T…I mean S-M-A-R-T! haha Love it! I am trying to cut back on sugar too. I love teriyaki chicken!

Today is my first day back w/ kids (seniors….spring semester=death) and I was DEAD tired last pm. I went to bed at 9:59!! That’s crazy early for me.
I’ve never heard of a Sous Vide (aside from your blog) and I am def going to check it out.
I never eat sweets, but when I do my workouts are CRAP. I have severe hypoglycemia and Celiac’s so I am kind of forced to stay away from junk food. If I have eaten a dessert the night before a workout my blood sugar crashes and I literally want to die while teaching an aerobic class at 5am.
Maybe today will be a less exhausting day for both of us!

Reply

Naps are good! I don’t really go without treats, but I do try to keep them to just dark chocolate with the occasional exception.

Love your choc. milk pic! Congrats.

Reply

aw congratulations, that is pretty exciting! i love the picture too!! haha

Reply

hahaha you are a champion napper!! well deserved after winning the refuel athlete of the month award for sure :-) And omg, you went a week without candy?!?!? OMG! that’s epic! I never would’ve thought lol. I love chocolate and I definitely have some every day – but yes, moderation is key to feelin good!

Reply

Congrats on the refuel athlete award!! Oh yeah!! :) I caught the first challenge on BL at the gym last night, but I didn’t have another 1.5 hours to stay!! Haha. I’ll probably watch it hit & miss, but looks like it’s going to be good. I’m not a sweets person so probably not a fair question. Sometimes I go for months at a time without really trying. However, I did get lazy with tasting my baking during the holidays!! Lol.

Reply

Yay!!! You CAN die happy!! How exciting.

I am SOOO watching BL. I absolutely love it! Question.. they say they have a “smaller” cast this season. Do you think they intentionally did that so that when people get to the finale they can be all SUPER skinny like Olivia and Ali were?

Reply

I’ve noticed that the contestants have been getting a bit smaller, too! I think after having so many super, super heavy people on (like Arthur and Michael) they’ve realized that they just have too much to lose in order to be super small by finale, so they “payoff” isn’t so big for the viewers! I personally always thought one of the super-big people would have major health complications eventually, too. It’s just so much to throw at someone that size all at once.

Reply

I’m watching the BL this season, but it is weird that they only have 2 trainers this season… maybe they’ll surprise us later

Reply

LOVE that picture of you – congrats on the award! I am seriously impressed with your no sweets…I’m always working on my moderation but am not always/ever good at it. Can’t wait to watch the BL on hulu later today. :)

Reply

Woohoo – athlete of the month! That pic is so adorable!

Reply

“SMRT..I am so smart!” Yes, I have seen that ep of the Simpsons. :)

Good for you for going a week w/o sweets! They are my weakness, too. I know I feel way better when I don’t eat them but I’m like you, I can’t give them up entirely. I’m still trying to get back on the straight and narrow from Christmas but my birthday’s on Sunday so I may have to wait until Monday. :)

And I will def watch BL as usual…though I DVR it and skip through the boring parts.

Reply

I had brown rice and chicken for dinner last night too! Good idea about freezing the brown rice. I think I will try that. I’ve never heard of the Sous Vide… i need one!

Have BL on my DVR waiting for me tonight after work :)

I’ve gone a few weeks without candy and do see a difference in my running.

Reply

My favorite chicken dish is Chicken Piccata! LOVE it!

I don’t watch any reality TV, including The Biggest Loser.

I am currently on a one month detox and I have cut out sugar, dairy, gluten, alcohol, caffeine and processed foods. I’ll let you know how long I survive (unless you never hear from me again, which means it killed me).

Congrats on being Athlete of the Month!!

Reply

I am so happy you are the team refuel athlete of the month! Your picture is so cute. :) The other night at a family Christmas party, I spent 3 hours abusing my body with pieces of pizza, peanut butter fudge, slices apple pie, chocolate covered raisins, sugar cookies, and m&ms…notice that everything is written in the plural form. Since that delicious but devastating-on-my-stomach evening, I haven’t eaten a single sweet either! I need at least 5 days free from the sugary goodness. I missed the Biggest Loser last night because I was watching Michigan win the sugar bowl but I am definitely going to catch up on it! Happy Wednesday!! :)

Reply

Way to go Athlete of the Month!!! So cool :)
I didn’t know the Biggest Loser was back on!!! YESSSS

Reply

Double congrats Janae!!! Athlete of the month and sugar free!! Amazing! I have probably gone only mere hours without sweets in my life. pathetic.

Definitely watching BL and love that there are 2 female pro athletes this season! Usually it’s the boys that have an athletic past. Excited to their transformations back to athletes!

Reply

I love the picture of you. So funny!!!!

My favorite chicken dish is salsa chicken because it’s just so easy and I love mexican dishes.

I didn’t really watch BL last season now that Jillian is gone but I will have it one in the background sometimes.

Reply

I am so jealous that you have a sous vide!!! All of my Top Chef/Iron Chef watching has made me a huge fan even though I have never actually eaten anything cooked sous vide. By the way – I’ll send you the chickpea recipe as soon as I make them again. Right now I just throw stuff in so I couldn’t give measurements but I’ll figure it out next time :) Then you can have treats without lots of sugar!!

Reply

Whoop, whoop!!! Go HRG!!!! That is so awesome!!!! Congrats Miss Athlete of the Month!!!

Reply

Ive eaten so much candy this holiday season that I’m pretty sure I got my FIRST cavity. Wompwomp. I need to go on a Candy hiatus. Now.

Reply

I might check out the biggest loser if it’s on Hulu. I don’t spend much time in front of the TV or else I’ll get sucked in! ESPECIALLY when the Food Network is on. Ughghghghg.

Reply

I totally forgot that a new season on BL started! But I am now super stoked and you have just made my day by reminding me :)
I love chicken stir-fried with teriyaki sauce, rice and an obscene amount of veggies. Especially when I “accidently” cook too much rice and am forced to make chocolate rice pudding with the leftovers…
Congrats on Athlete of the Month!

Reply

I love teriyaki chicken or grilled barbecue chicken with salad or rice. Delicious!

Reply

Congrats on being athlete of the month! That’s way cool!

I’ve been on a new eating plan with hardly any sugar and lower carbs. Longer runs are HARD now but I know I’m burning off fat instead of sugar. Good job on cutting back!

Reply

I went without sugar for three months while I was trying to lose weight for my wedding (my off-the-rack dress was two sizes smaller than I was, so I needed to lose that weight!) and I felt fantastic. My workouts were stronger and I didn’t even crave sugar after that first week.
But I had the biggest sugar rush after eating some of our wedding desserts! It was insane!

Reply

If you eat chicken….what is your favorite chicken dish?
— I make a slightly version of the Light & Hearty Chicken Pasta on this page – http://www.freewebs.com/hwc1973/pastarecipes.htm. Other than that I don’t cook chicken too much – too easy to dry out. Although I have been craving a chicken caesar salad, so I might be doing that soon!

Are you going to watch the Biggest Loser this season?
-Nope; gave it up a couple seasons ago. Too fake for me. (Sorry!)

How long was the longest you have gone without treats? How long do you think you could go without treats? Do you think lowering your sugar intake would affect your running a lot?
— I haven’t given up sweets. I think my analog is diet soda – specifically Diet Mt. Dew, which I’ve given up many times and returned to. Giving it up doesn’t appear to impact me much – no caffeine headaches, no energy difference.

Reply

YES! I love, love, love that you and SR were back-to-back Athletes of the Month.

life goal: to be next. ;) thank you for voting for me, pretty lady.

Reply

One year for New Year’s I gave up sugar. I did AMAZING until Easter when I ate an entire Easter Basket full of candy, made myself sick and continued to eat enough candy to make up for lost time.

Reply

go you! must feel so good to be athlete of the month!! way to start the year:) I really don’t cook chicken anymore – trying to do the vegetarian/vegan thing, and I will only buy organic and it’s just too expensive. We gave up processed sugar/candy/treats last January for a month – since than I really don’t crave it! I felt so “clean” without eating it and have kind of lost my taste for it. Definitely think it helps with the running. So out of the BL loop – really didn’t care for Anna as a trainer, don’t even know who replaced her this year! watched it religiously the year before. would love to start watching again though.

Reply

I have gone about three months without eating any sweets, but that was a LONG time ago. I know I could and need to do it, mainly because you do feel amazing when you do. :)
I watched the Biggest Loser last night…I think it’s gonna be a cool season. Love Dolvet! He’s super cool with his big guns.
Lol…I love being so exhausted that I just go into a deep sleep setting up. Too funny!
Chicken and rice looks yummy!
Have a great day!

Reply

Congrats on the Athlete of the Month!!! :-)

Sugar has become such an addiction for me this holiday season so I am going to try to wean off of it a little this week! The longest I went without it was 40 days for Lent.

I have never watched Biggest Loser but I think it would be a great motivator! Maybe I’ll start.

I love balsamic reduction chicken with homemade bruschetta over fresh mozarella cheese. Yum! (I made it for my boyfriend the first time I cooked for him- paired with asparagus)

Reply

congrats on being athlete of the month, my friend!

Reply

We eat a TON of chicken at our house. One of my favorite ways to have it is when Daniel cooks a whole chicken in the smoker. Man, it just falls apart and is so so good.

Lowering sugar can do so much for your body. I am definitely a sugar addict, but a while back I did a refined sugar fast. I had ZERO added sugars for three full months. It was tough (sugar is in EVERYTHING), but I felt amazing. Right now I’m trying to moderate my added sugars and really only eat whole foods. I’ve been juicing whole fruits and vegetables, and they help me get my sweet fix (in a twisted way) – apple, carrot, sweet potato, spinach, and orange juice is the BOMB.

Reply

Oh, and I am incredibly proud of you for sticking to your 7 day challenge!!!

Reply

I somehow always get sucked into The Biggest Loser – kind of like every summer when I promise myself I’m not going to watch Big Brother, but I do. I have no willpower.

Reply

Yummy that dinner looks so good. Can I move in with you and Billy? I would be the perfect child for you two I think. :)

Good job with cutting the candy out. You are awesome!! I must admit that I feel 100% better when I cut junk food out of my diet. Just wish I was a little bit more disciplined.

Reply

I LOVE the biggest loser!!! I can’t wait to get a chance to watch it on Hulu!

Reply

Janae- how do you work out so early? I will never understand! I wish I could do it, but my runs are usually at 6 or 7pm each night. I love watching BL while running though. It’s such great motivation.

Congrats on being ATHLETE OF THE MONTH!! You need to blow that up and frame it and hang it in front of your TM to serve as a reminder every day that you are awesome and SMRT. :)

Reply

YAY for athlete of the month!! :D I couldn’t think of anyone better.
That is awesome that you were able to go a week without candy. I’m not much of a candy eater, but I am a HUGE icecream (well, frozen yogurt) eater. Like every night kind of thing. It’s one thing I really look forward to each day. Lame! Haha! But it works.

Reply

CONGRATS on being athlete of the month!!! –I am vying for a spot on the team, so if you have an extra sec today, PLEASE vote for me :) Your’e the best!

I once went an entire year without sweets…..it was a dare with my sister (we had the huge holidays off and our birthdays–so about 6-7 days off during the year) and I never cheated. It was hard for the first 3 weeks, but after that, it was totally fine–esp since I knew I could have some on those ‘special’ days. NOW though, I don’t restrict. I just balance out the sometimes treats with lots of good stuff!

I love chicken in a good soup or casserole!

Reply

Good for you for cutting down on the sugar–it is an ongoing battle for me but I definitely believe it makes a huge difference in our health. I usually give it up for a month or so over Lent, and then try to keep it somewhat limited the rest of the year!

Reply

Congrats! That’s so awesome.
My mom and I once went a whole summer with out any treats. We both felt great, but couldn’t last much longer. We now do it every so often together.

I could eat chicken and rice almost every day. So simple but I love it. You are so cute! Yay for being athlete of the month! :)

Reply

I love grilled chicken and chicken picadillo. I eat sweets in moderation. I don’t know the longest I’ve been without them. Probably not longer than a week or two. Love BL! It’s my favorite show aside from Burn Notice.

Reply

I can’t believe you made a week! Good work!! I’m on day three and it is KILLING me. Running is so hard without the sugar (I usually load up on snacks before I head out the door).

Reply

My goal for January is to go all month without sweets (all the goodies you listed in your post). It’s been hard but that just proves me to how much I need this – when I eat sugar everyday, I crave it. By giving it up for a month, I don’t need it as much (I’ve done this before). Congrats on making it 7 days!

Reply

Wow, 7 days!! That’s seriously impressive! One time about 2 years ago, I went 40 days without sweets. It was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done. On Day 41, I went to Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed a massive piece of Red Velvet Cheesecake! ;)

Reply

I’ve given up chocolate for Lent a couple of times. It doesn’t bother me too much, except if a friend is dishing up an amazing chocolate dessert and I have to turn it down! Surprisingly, I found giving up tea MUCH harder – I struggled my way through the forty days, sometimes relying on a cup-a-soup to give me that “comforting warm drink” feeling!

Reply

Congrats on being “athlete of the month!!” :) :)

Favorite chicken dish – probably the one I made last night for dinner. Chicken, brocolli, rice, cheese casserole. yum!! :)

I made one attempt at staying away from sugar. I def. noticed a difference in my running and appearance but, I’m happier when I allow my sweet treats every other day. I’m easier to live with!! :) Everything in moderation is okay in my book. “Everything in moderation” would be a good title to a health/diet book! hmmmm… :)

Hope you get to eat fro-yo today with your mom. luv ya xo!!

Reply

Your chicken cooker sounds awesome! I’ve never heard of anything like it… It kinda reminds me of the microwavable veggies in a bag, but chicken?! Fave chicken dish is chicken burritos or chicken roll ups [ham + laughing Cow cheese + asparagus or bell peppers] :D

Reply

I did watch the Biggest Loser last night. I love that show! I’m so glad Anna is not a trainer this season. I really got sick of hearing her 2 motivational phrases – “Don’t stop!” “C’mon! Keep going!”

Congrats on being Athlete of the Month!

Reply

Oooof, i don’t knot know how you went that long without sweets! Especially at this time of the year. I could maybe, maybe do something like only ice cream/candy on the weekends, but I think that’s as far as I could go. Good for you!

Reply

Congrats! You totally deserve it!!
I love that you made a Simpsons reference by the way!
I could never go very long without candy! I just loveeee it! I think I could make it a few days, maybe 5 at most!
I’m hoping this season of BL is better than last season, I wasn’t a fan but soooo glad that stupid Anna is gone!!

I should probably do the same! I type this as I am enjoying a hot mug of hot cocoa (easier said than done).

Whenever I try to cut out sweets completely I either 1.) have horrible cravings and cave or 2.) have to sub sugar for something else like caffeine or dried fruit. What do you to keep your cravings at bay?

Reply

HEY YOU!!! I am the same way as you! For the week I ate a TON of fruit to help curb the cravings. I used the yonanan machine and ate that a lot to make frozen banana soft serve. hmmmm now I am wanting some hot cocoa, that sounds amazing!

I’ll have to check out the yonana machine!! =)

Congrats on Athlete of the Month! That is awesome! I’ve tried giving up sweets before – for a few months. I was sick at the time so I didn’t notice a difference. Whole lotta work for not much reward…. Now I’m going to try the “moderation” thing!
I love butter chicken! Just found a jar of the sauce at Cost Plus that I’m dying to try. I LOVE easy and delicious meals!!
I felt really smrt today – my pseudo first day back at work – it was rough trying to think again!

Food! The most confusing part of all this ‘being healthy’ part is to me. I am trying to cut the sweets out. Totally! At least until I reach my weight goal. I need to figure out the food part of running. UGH! This is all so stressing! When is your next race?

Reply

I love eating chicken in a rice dish. I also used to love the Barber chicken’s stuffed with broccoli and cheese.

I guess for treats, I gave up Diet Coke for lent and I haven’t had a craving for it since. It tastes too sweet to me now!

I watched the first episode. It just isnt the same with out Jillian.

AWESOME! YAY! Congrats on being selected as Athlete of the Month – you so deserve it, my friend!!
