A day late and sugar’s effect on the body.

November 20, 2011

Here’s the dealio.  Saturday night involved nachos, mac & cheese (because we couldn’t get enough fake cheese with just nachos) and football.  I took 0 pictures because:  1. my bangs looked like I dipped them in a deep fryer and 2. I was lazy and my fingers had too much cheese on them to touch the ‘nice’ camera.

Good thing I never blogged about Friday night and had plenty of pictures to share.

My sis invited us to come with her family to Costco.  I had a chicken caesar salad and finished off the little one’s pizzas.

After dinner I convinced my sister to make the BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES ever for us.  5 dozen cookies for 6 people…why not?  Please note:  when making these chocolate chip cookies, you must use the Guittard LARGE milk chocolate chips.

Cross-section shots always make things look even more delicious.

Here’s were the geniusness came in (okay, I cannot take any credit for anything creative that I do from here on out because I learn all of my tricks from pinterest):

It is the last day to enter the LULULEMON $100 GIFTCARD!!

Where was the last store/restaurant that you had a salad from?  Was it good?

If you work or you are going to school right now: how many days do you get off for Thanksgiving break?

-We only work Monday and Tuesday wahoo!

What is going to be the best part of your Sunday?

-Sunday afternoon nap.  It is me and Billy’s newest family tradition.

Ok. That cookie dough trick on the bottom of the cup is GENIUS! I so have to try that- even if I’m trying to have no added sugars in my diet lately. I know- it’s the “Janae Opposite” diet:-D have a great day!

Yum!! I love the idea of cookie bowls for ice cream :)

The best part of my day today is shoe shopping…even if they are for work !

Khushboo November 20, 2011 at 6:33 am

Oh my good lord- that cookie dough dish looks fabulous! As jealous as I am, I had ice cream and cookies today :)! There were so many great parts about my Sunday: sleeping in, having a massage, lunch with some girlfriends, and riding a ghoda ghadi (it’s basically the Indian term for going on a horse-drawn carriage)!

Katie @ Peace Love & Oats November 20, 2011 at 6:35 am

BRILLIANT!

I can’t wait to try this cookie trick. Oh but all I have is a silicone cupcake pan…do you think that would work?

Last salad I had from a restaurant was from the Cheeseburger Paradise restaurant in Hawaii! Best cobb salad ever!

I only get Thursday and Friday off this week! Boo

Best part of my sunday is going to be making homemade Chex mix with mom and sister!

I had a salad at the beach. It was ok.
I will take Friday off. And do my prep work on Wed. In between meetings.
Sunday, I may go to the bookstore and wander around looking for Christmas gift ideas.

I had a really good salad from Panera Bread- I love their Asian Sesame chicken salad!

I haven’t had a salad from anywhere in months – I eat them at home but when I’m out I usually get something else.

Your niece is just TOO cute!!!! Seriously adorable!
Looks like a fun Friday night to me- especially ending with icecream & cookies.

Last time I had a salad was from this place called Cotton Patch (I actually HATE the restaurant), but I LOVE the salad I got. I’m a big fan of strawberry walnut salads.

I have in-service Monday and Tuesday…. so it is still work, just no kids :) And I’m taking Tuesday off because I have to go to the airport to pick up my in-laws who are joining us for Thanksgiving!

Best part of my Sunday: My husband is FINALLY home after being gone on a business trip all week. So I’d say hanging out with him :) Maybe I can convince him to go to Kohl’s :) We live an exciting life.

AND – today is my long run day. 5 miles. I know that doesn’t sound like much, but doctor says I needed to work back up SLOWLY from my 2 stress fractures. So that is what I shall do.

OMG that crispy cookie dough! And if I get the ice cream in them at the perfect time, they will melt the ice cream but still add a cookie-like crunch!! You are WONDERFUL!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I LOVE this idea!

I only get Thurs and Fri in addition to the weekend away from my students, but I’ll take what I can get.

Yesterday, I had a base salad from Chick-fil-A. It’s like their other salads but without the chicken. After I remove the cheese, I save my sunflower seeds for a cranky hungry emergency (glove compartment of car), it’s quick and easy while running errands.

I have to say, girl, that being sugar free is kind of hard when I look at those pictures :). I think I’m gonna have to go make some sort of heatlhy cookie to satisfy my cravings now.

Best part of my Sunday- for the next few weeks I’m going to the Messiah rehearsals- practicing to be part of the choir for the Messiah sing-in in a few weeks. One of my favorite things during the holidays! Do you sing?
