Party Hopping

September 3, 2011

I bet you have never read about a blogger meet-up at McDonalds before………

IMG 9254

Ash and I wanted to get together and I came up with going to McDonalds.  You can’t beat their cheap soft-serve and for some reason I have been thirstier than ever (it sure makes one thirsty to watch from the shade, their cross-country team run in 90 degree weather:).  Don’t tell BIlly but I went through three lemonades (aka I have to pee 8 times during the night and therefore wake him up because he hears someone sprint towards the bathroom).

Next stop was Billy’s brother’s house for pizza.  It should probably be a requirement to start the weekend off with grease, cheese and frosting as a dipping sauce.  You know how we are obsessed with good deals, this one was no different….pizza, breadsticks with dipping sauce and cinnamon sticks with frosting to dip them in all for $10.

Either I was outside all day without knowing it or I went a little crazy with the bronzer today.

IMG 9258

I haven’t had Pizza Hut in probably a decade and I am not going to lie, it was pretty darn good.  Thick fluffy crust with plenty of cheese in every bite.

Next party: Pajama/movie/late-night with the nieces and nephew.

I am not ashamed to admit that I was excited for ‘movie night’ with the kiddos because it gives me an excuse to watch cartoons.

Sometimes a gal just needs some McDonald’s and Pizza Hut! I loooove Pizza Hut deep dish….probably the most unhealthy thing on the menu, haha.

Sometimes I like to come here and live vicariously through you, Janae – ice cream party, pizza and sleepovers. I feel old.

That’s why I love being a camp counselor – when we have movie nights, it’s always a cartoon AWESOME movie. Little Mermaid is my all time fav, but I love Despicable Me and Megamind.

We went to downtown Disney last night and watched the fireworks :)
I loved when McD’s had the swirl chocolate and vanilla ice cream! But they got rid of it :(

Toy Story is one of my top kids movies. It was so well done and I could watch it over and over again! I don’t think I’ve ever had McDonalds soft serve! Weird, I know. I was never a soft serve kinda girl. I prefer intense ice cream with chunks of random things in it.

That picture of Billy and your nephew is precious. You should fame it!

Katie September 3, 2011 at 7:47 am

Janae, I just want you to know that I just had two kinds of cereal mixed together for breakfast, and I thought of you!

Reply

Ali Mc September 3, 2011 at 7:56 am

I too had pizza last night and it was amazing!!!

I LOVE the little mermaid! I actually brought in a picture of her in that purple dress (the one near the end when king triton turns her back into a human and she emerges out of the water to meet prince eric) when I got my wedding dress alterations done. I wanted a high slit like that and a flowing beach dress to boot :D

If Tangled was any indication of what’s to come for NEW disney movies – I am EXCITED :D it was AMAZING!!!!!!

I love Mcdonalds ice cream ….but prefer DQ

Fave part of Friday night: Soul Food was on tv…do you remember that movie? I kinda love it.

Who doesn’t love McDonald’s ice cream cones?

I wanted to rent Tangled last night from Red Box but it was sold out! I’ve heard such good things about it.

I love Aladdin and Fievel Goes West. :-)

Love Little Mermaid, Lion King, and all of the Toy Story movies. Last night was so much fun, we went to the Baylor vs. TCU football game and it was a crazy close and fun game. Fans rushed the field when ou (Baylor) team won. The kids had a blast and were trooper the entire time. I agree mcdonalds has great soft serve and i’m a big fan of their vanilla iced coffee.

Reply

Courtney September 3, 2011 at 3:28 pm

That was an amazing game to the end! My husband and I were happy Baylor won – they definitely deserved it but we were worried at the end. Cool that you and your kids were there! We have family passes for the Ducks games again this year – our kids love it.

That is one adorable picture of Billy and your niece!!!

Fav movie: Toy Story 1, 2 & 3. Yes, I love them. A lot.

Fav part of last night: I had been visiting my family (PA) all week and just got home (TX) so it was nice to cook dinner with my hubs – so he didn’t have to eat mac and cheese every night……

I love any and all ice cream cones.

Reply

Elizabeth September 3, 2011 at 8:37 am

I LOVE The Incredibles and How to Train Your Dragon. They’re my “I’m having a bad day and want to laugh and smile now” movies for sure! I keep meaning to see Tangled, but still haven’t.

Last night I went out for TX bbq with some friends. So delicious!

And yes, McDonald’s ice cream cones are great. I think part of the reason I love them is that they were sort of my mom and my “thing” for a while. We’d go shopping and finish the day with an ice cream cone. I haven’t had one in ages though! Guess I know what I’m doing today! ;)

FoodFaithFitness September 3, 2011 at 8:43 am

Not gonna lie. With each pregnancy, McD’s stwarberry shakes were my BFF. They helped with my heartburn! Fave part of Friday night was making a meal out of leftovers and going downtown with the family to see some art!

I love just about any kid movie. For real its out of control. But I love lion king, little mermaid, and monsters inc. the most, maybe. It’s like asking me to choose my favorite child!

Friday night I did some recovering in compression socks with homemade red lobster cheese biscuits and sappy wedding tv shows. Life is good!

Totally unrelated, but Billy’s froached eggs are becoming a global phenomenon. I have been making them here in South Africa for my husband and I and we love them. Last night we were at a dinner party and somehow we got started on eggs and explained how to froach and everyone was loving it. I anticipate they are going to be going mainstream soon.

Does singing in the rain count as a kids movie? It’s my favorite and my kids adore it too. They quote and pretend to do tehe dances all the time.

Best part of my Friday night? S’mores and friends! We went on a mini over nighter camping trip and had a blast! I’m glad to be clean now though.

I LOVE McDonald’s soft serve… yummy & cheap. Can’t go wrong there.

Favorite kid movie: The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, and all of the Disney Friday night movies [Zenon the Zequal, Luck of the Irish, Smart House...]!

Reply

Emily @ Perfection Isn't Happy September 4, 2011 at 9:57 am

The Little Mermaid and Tangled are my top two favorite cartoons! I was recently telling people at work about this…I’m cool like that :).

Reply

Jessica September 4, 2011 at 9:46 pm

I love all Disney movies… it’s an addiction. Tangled was incredible. I am not ashamed to admit that I have cried each and every time I’ve seen it! Buuuuut there will always be a soft spot in my heart for Cinderella. It’s the first Disney movie I ever had, and I got it because I won a beautiful baby contest that my grandpa entered me in!

I haven’t had a McDonald’s ice cream cone in so long I barely remember them! But ice dream at Chick-fil-a? It’s like my crack.

Reply

Jessica September 4, 2011 at 9:47 pm

And I don’t know why I actually typed “It’s like my crack” instead of “It’s my crack,” because now I sound like a valley girl. Which I probably am, but I still shouldn’t sound like it!
