NEW LEG MOVE TO MAKE YOUR LEGS FEEL LIKE THEY WANT TO FALL OFF

I promise my floor is not dirty.  I actually just mopped it.  I promise.  The fact that that floor was laid 103 years ago probably is why it looks like sludge city but we are okay with it……it is all part of the poor just married thing ya know:)

I have a new leg move for you that made my legs feel like they were on FIRE!!!

Put a paper towel under your back leg and get into a deep lunge position.

Keep your front leg isolated and slide up the back leg.  Start with counts of four, then counts of two and then try to do it fast.  We ended up doing each leg for about two minutes and it hurts to stand now.

That just means I get to stay on the couch for the rest of the day right?

-20 minutes elliptical, 10 minutes bike and pump.

That looks AWFUL/amazing at the same time. I’ll have to try this when my roommate isn’t home or I’m sure she’ll think I’m a total weirdo. At least I won’t feel completely alone since I know you do the same crazy move!

I haven’t had my workout yet today. I’m hoping the rain stops so I can head outside, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

Wow – going to have to try that one for sure! My favorite move right now are squats jump outs – Hands on your head, feet hip width apart – squat down and for 30 seconds and while staying down in a squat position jump your feet in and out– man o man it burns! :-) xoxo

Thanks Joe for answering the qstueion about whether or not we should workout when sick! What you said really hit home because I always feel guilty if I don’t work out but sometimes you just don’t feel up to it it’s great to have a guideline from a professional. Looking forward to your next show.

Looks like a good move! My workout will probably be either a spin class or elliptical time. I can’t decide. Honestly I want to go flop on the couch but that’s a bad idea!

Oh man..I’m sure your legs are dying! I know mine would be haha. My workout today was a 3-mile jog and 10 minutes on the AMT :). Not at all a new move, but burpees are freaking killer!

Umm did level 2 of Jillian’s Ripped in 30 and so so sore now.. she had these pushups where each time you went into a pushup you took one leg out to the side of your body like a frog… OUCH!

I wonder if my wood floor is slippery enough to try your move… I might bust that out tonight ;)

I like leg workouts I can do at home! Yay!

4 miles this morning. Evening workout will consist of walking the zoo! We are taking the kids there after work for a dinner picnic :) Love nights like this!

This makes me imagine that you created this by trying to clean up the kitchen floor (case in point, moi).

QUESTION for you:
I have been an avid follower of your blog for a few months now (no idea how I got through my days before finding HRG….) and I am SURE you have told us this a million times before. But if you could be a doll and share with me what you like to eat before a run. I can’t just wake up and go running – I start getting hungry at like 3:32 am, and get grumpy until I get something in me. But, I have heard SO MANY variations of what to eat/what kinds of food to eat before a run. I load up on protein after a run, but want to gobble up Cinnamon Toast Crunch before a run (can’t be healthy, can’t be what I’m suppose to do). Suggestions?

HEY LORI!!! I am SO happy you asked:) I am very boring and I stick to a banana (if I am not very hungry) or 2 pieces of whole wheat bread with pb (but with pb I have to wait a little while before I start running). I can’t do cereal because my stomach doesn’t really like dairy before running. I think that whatever works for you is awesome. I don’t see a problem with cinnamon toast crunch because they could be a great source of quick energy. Let me know what you think:)

My workout today was taking an exam. Really, it worked my brain so hard that I plan to not think for the next week. You know, recovery and all that.

My body workout is going to be an upper body workout (pushups, dips, lateral raises, aka everything I suck at) and a lower body workout (squats, lunges, bridges, etc).

I am going to be soooo sore tomorrow.

That looks painful yet so effective. lol. My workout today was lifting weights….and it didn’t turn out so good. I was SO tired.
One move that I love doing is a Plank Row, or divebomber push ups. They hurt but I love them!!
