Please tell me I am not the only person that gets really happy when they go somewhere and food is offered for free. When we went to go get the car cleaned (another thing that makes me extremely happy, a messy car makes me REALLY grumpy but a messy bathroom/room/hair doesn’t bother me one bit).
The car wash had a table of free fruit and cold waterbottles for us while we waited. We had the kiddos with us today which always makes everything so much more fun.
Something else that makes me GRUMPY is when my fridge is empty. Especially because I am the food packing queen for work, I NEEDED to load up on the Costco necessities.
The fridge and freezer are now officially jam packed, much better.
Lunch was a chicken sandwich on sourdough bread.
And dessert was a cereal party. Frosted mini-wheats are what dreams are made of. Once again, I have to wait for them to get soggy before eating….so does my sister but Billy likes his cereal crunchy.

I pack a bunch of stuff for work (just blogged this morning about what I bring in!). I get crazy anxiety thinking that I’ll get hungry and have to resort to eating something out of the vending machine.
I am totally OCD about the inside of my car, but not the outside. No paper, water bottles, food or anything should ever be on the inside or I go nuts!
I LOVE free stuff. I sign up for free samples online all the time and the food ones are the best! Nothing better than receiving mini- cereal boxes and new Ocean Spray fruit drinks!
I always try to pack lunch for work/school. Most of the time I pack a bunch of random snacks though, not a full meal.
I wish we had Costco in my area. I was just in NYC and was spoiled by Trader Joe’s, which I don’t have at home. I know you’re going through the same deprivation!
PS – I LOVE your blog, it’s one of the few that I read daily! Although now that I started my own, I hope to start reading more!

I don’t have Costco OR TJ’s here. Wah. My favorite thing at Costco is their garlic french bread. Especially if you can get it when it’s warm. Soooo good. I like their granola too.
I am usually super OCD about my car, but lately we’ve been using it more like a truck for some of our home renovation projects (transporting lumber & other junk) so it’s messier than I’d like. I’m too lazy to clean it every week just to mess it up on the weekend. :)

Usually I would say the rain today is making me grumpy, but it isn’t – I cannot wait to go home and snuggle up on the couch with hot chocolate.
I pack a morning and afternoon snack every day! Oh, that is what makes me grumpy no snacks! haha. And I go home for lunch.
That’s a tough one, don’t make me choose! Greek yogurt, hummus or spinach?!
i always pack food for school – the thought of having to buy food at school totally grosses me out.
favorite thing to buy at costco is probably either greek yogurt, almond milk, or ravioli. oh, and their amazing bread! but my favorite thing of all about costco is the bajillion free samples :)

You know how in the 1970′s teachers went out for a smoke? I see my packed lunch of deliciousness as a healthy form of that for myself. A small selfish escape in the midst of being all responsible and stuff.

I just washed my car yesterday for the first time in like 3 months. I don’t even think I got half the dirt off because it’s been so long! Maybe I should have opted for a professional’s touch rather than my own lazy washing….
oh janae, when I drove a car it was so messy! You would’ve hated it! but now I drive a jeep so I am forced to keep it clean or else garbage would go flying out when I have the top off. :) It’s a blessing really.
I hate when I have no healthy food on hand because then I feel forced to eat junk — and I prefer to eat junk on MY terms. :) I brought an Amy’s Burrito to work today and a salad of arugula, almonds and dried cranberries. I need to go grocery shopping too!
I looove Frosted Mini Wheats too, yum. Have you tried the strawberry or blueberry ones?? HEAVEN.
Exam time made me grumpy, but now it’s over and I can relax…till Labour Day, because after that I get to go right back to school. Yay.
I pack food 99% of the time. Poor student = eating parent-bought food. I’m taking advatage while I still live here.
Err, what car? Gas in B.C. is 1 trillion dollars a litre, so the thought of a car makes me cringe and hug my wallet a little bit tighter.

I used to be OCD about my car but now I let all of my bags and work papers pile up before I clean it. I do make sure to clean food up right away though :D I always pack food up for work. I don’t like eating out all of the time and I like saving money, so it’s a win-win. My favorite thing at Costco used to be the HUGE box of rice krispy treats but now it is the ginormous jars of Maranatha Almond Butter.

I take pride in the fact that my ’05 Prius still has that ‘new car’ smell! I feel so ashamed when my car gets dirty!
We used to go to that car wash! I think you get a free air Freshener too…our Costco essentials include yogurt, cheesesticks, and frozen fruit!
I don’t own a car but I am grumpy when my apartment is messy even though I hate to clean it and avoid that chore like the plague. Go figure!

Waking up at 5:45 makes me grumpy Mon-Thurs (not Friday, since I’m just happy the week is almost done).
Ever since I got a new car in January I’m super careful about keeping it clean- it’s my grown up car and it needs to last me a loooooong time. Plus I think it makes an impression when people get in a clean car… or a dirty one.
I always pack a TON of food when I go to class. Hey, you never know when you’re gunna get hungry! If I don’t have a huge stash of food and I get hungry, now THAT makes me grumpy!

I pack almost every day. I’m cheap, and I don’t like spending money on going out to eat every day. ;) I also pack a lunch for my husband when he’s at home (he travels half of the time). We do a lot of leftovers from dinner or turkey sandwiches. :P
the place i take my rav for an oil change gives a free cookie and coffee! i like that job about as much as going to the dentist, so it’s a fun perk!

free food is always amazing. i used to love samples out at grocery or bulk stores (i haven’t come across any in a long while). and now i love dinner at my parents’ house for quite possibly the same reason. …they’re not bad, either. ;-)
being lonely in a thunderstorm right now is getting me grumpy. maybe more lonely than grumpy. i’m going to feel like such a brave little toaster when it’s over, and catching up on blogs is making me happy.

1. Grumpy lately? Not enough sleep caused me to get grumpy at pretty much everything and anything yesterday. :/

3. OCD about my car being clean? There comes a point when I can’t stand it anymore. It never gets super dirty, but I draw the line at a certain point.
4. Fave thing to buy at Costco? Definitely agree on the Greek yogurt!! Another one is organic vanilla soymilk.

Kinda silly but I was SO grumpy when the guy at the grocery store bagged my groceries all wrong. I bring in my canvas bags and he put barely anything in there. I was SO mad!
I left this unfinished…he ended up having to use a ton of plastic bags, which I hate! It’s such a waste.

I’m a stay-at-home mom, but when I worked and before kids, yes I packed my lunch. It was much cheaper. I need to practice again because I start packing the kids lunches for preschool next week and it’s been years since I made a sack lunch.

This post really made me miss Costco…haha. I was included on my mom’s membership, and she cancelled it…boo. When I could go there, I would ALWAYS make sure to pick up a giant box of Kashi cereal, peanut butter pretzel nuggets, and dark chocolate covered blueberries…amazing!
The fact that NO ONE knows when the iphone 5 is coming out made me really grumpy today. I need a new phone and the peeps at Apple said not to buy the 4 because the 5 will come out in the next little while. It could be a month, it could be 6 months!!!! Thanks for nothing, Apple.
I always pack work food! I hate being starving and then eating like a ravenous animal when I get home. I have to make sure I have enough fuel with me for the whole day!
I love buying fruit at Costco. For some reason it always looks like it’s on steroids! Like ginormous raspberries the size of strawberries. So weird and genetically modified for sure, but I love it. :D
My car is spotless, inside and out. There is absolutely nothing in my car except for a box of tissues.
If I know I can’t get home to eat I usually always pack my food.

I am super OCD about my car being clean too! I blame it on my dad not letting us in the car with dirty feet or allowing us to eat or drink anything! You won’t find a single thing in my car outside of the glove box or center console. No mess, it makes me stressed out!
free things get me waaay too excited if you proportionally think about what they’re giving away….haha, i’m easily pleased. :) that car place is much better than any i’ve been too where there is just a pile of greased up mags from 2001. i’m also going to say for the record i would have swiped a few more water bottles to chug later. :)
costco…okay, i luv their egg beaters. i actually go through at least one little carton a day and costco has them in a 6 pack for the cheapest. u can micro them in no time and make an awesome omelet or eggy scramble…and soooo much protein! :)
I can’t stand a cluttered or dirty car either…I like it spotless inside! :) But I really can’t stand clutter anywhere…I’m a bit of a neat freak in that sense.

I bring a picnic basket to school filled with food. No lie! I also have a hard time NOT eating in front of my students. I just can’t help it.

Free food is the BEST!!! I love it when a business where you have to wait offers you something to make you more comfortable. Even if it’s only coffee or water, it makes you feel that they care about their customer. Great idea on their part!
I should be ocd about my van because of the 5 kids.. but sometimes I let it go. I just get out and pretend the mess isn’t there. Fav thing at Costco? Avocados!
What made you GRUMPY lately?
- Someone stole my car key!! Left it in the movie theater bathroom and when I went back 10min later it was gone :’( no one turned it in either… and, since that was my only key (don’t lecture me I learned my lesson) it’s $550 to get through the anti-theft on the car computer to re-key it. So yep – grumpy.
Do you pack food for work/school?
-yes!! I pack food for lunch at work 85% of the time. Usually it’s leftovers and I just make a really big dinner OR lots of salads on Sunday just with the dressing on the side so they last and are ready to go!
Are you OCD about keeping your car clean like me?
-Nope. I stink at this… but I have an SUV so I can keep all my ‘stuff’ in the back and no one would ever know! LOL except my BF when he tries to load all our Costco groceries in there and I have 4 pairs of shoes, several grandma sweaters, some books and a volleyball in the way.

Brie! and Smoked Salmon.

i always ALWAYS pack my lunch! most of my coworkers dont since they have free food in the cafe, but i would rather eat my arm than eat what they serve so a packed lunch it is!

We go to Costco almost once a week/ every other week to stock up on produce and drinks… We get other stuff too, but not as frequently. My favorite items are: the green grapes and the ciabatta rolls!
