I solved my problem

Remember how I keep complaining about the fact that my house is a furnace and we don’t have a/c and the swamp cooler doesn’t work…….

I have a solution.

1.)  Take the ginormous fan that you use when you run on the treadmill around with you from room to room.

2.) Eat an overflowing mug of cereal with cold refreshing milk on the hour, every hour.

Solution #3 involves going to the pool, reading Running Times and convincing Billy that the only thing that will save me from overheating is a slurpee from 7-11.

It may look just like a head of lettuce but there is cottage cheese, turkey and half the bottle of my favorite dressing in there with a side of two apples.

Favorite quote from Running Times, comes from BYU’s head cross country coach, Ed Eyestone, “The more you sweat in training, the less you blead in war.”

Luckily, our AC is working and it’s not terribly hot here in Michigan!
Last magazine I read was Runners World! :D
Mmmm- a nice big mug of cold cereal sounds delicious. I think that might be the best idea. lol

Ha, it totally looks like that….it is a huge tupperware container! GO EAT SOME CEREAL:)

I’m not ashamed to admit that I may also drag my fan from room to room, and maybe I drink a glass of prosecco on sundays because it’s the day I’m home the most! And maybe sometimes I steal my fiance’s ice cream bars when he’s away.

Good to know I am not alone!! I think I should go steal some of Billy’s cookies now that I know you steal your fin ace’s ice cream bars!

My car doesn’t have A/C. Not a problem when we’re on the coast (we live in Northern CA), but when we go inland it’s really really hot. So we stop for ice cream every hour to cool off. I also shove a cold water bottle up my dress/shorts to cool down. Surprising how well that works.

Good call on stopping for ice cream every hour….don’t ever get a/c so that you don’t have the excuse to get ice cream all of the time!

Haha. I LOVE THAT QUOTE!!!! Besides sweating is fun!! It’s not hot in Minnesota so I’ve not had any problems staying cool! :) Sorry! I’m sure it will pass soon and we’ll get tired of winter! :) The last magazines I read were InTouch and Self. Sometimes I just can’t resist a little celebrity gossip!

Awww you are awesome! It was so great to see you yesterday and can I just tell you that you are the nicest person ever. Just love you!

I stayed cool today by running through all the sprinklers the little kids set up at the race. Good times! :) Love that quote! I totally bled today when I ate pavement while pacing Ash. ha ha it was pretty funny but man it hurt!

the pool looks heavenly! So jealous!!!! Love that quote! Clearly I didn’t read my running times too diligently because I didn’t remember seeing that quote. Oops! Guess I better re-read some of it :)

I’ve been eating LOTS of popsicles this summer! I am reading Women’s Running magazine right now. Finished Women’s Health last night.

We fortunately have AC or I think I would be going crazy! If I didn’t though, I’d probably get one of those spray bottles with the fan on the end- and I’d continually use it! The last magazine I looked at (I didn’t read it) was InStyle :)

I used LOTS of fans- we have a ceiling fan in each room and two other fans like the one you have (one in each room). Plus I was taking like three ice cold showers a day and eating ice cream and lots ice cold water! So glad its cooling off in NYC

I last magazine I happened to read was Triathlete. Love it!
A slurpee sounds really good right now.

While I am blessed to have a/c in my home, I cannot say the same for my classroom! Last Thursday night we had freshmen orientation, and it was 88 degrees in there:( At least you can escape the heat while at work;)

AHHHHH NOOOO!!!! Teenagers in a hot room…..I can only imagine it did not smell well! Come teach at my school and we can be best friends:)

That would be sweet!!! Utah is so much better than Ohio anyways:-)

I wish I was dealing with heat. I could go for some time near a pool and sunshine. It’s actually pretty chilly here in Homer, Alaska today. Overcast, rainy, and 50 or so degrees. Fall is here!

I’ll trade you for a day. 107 here in Dallas with no relief in sight.

that is definitely the best quote ever!!! i think i need to get a fan like that because my house is seriously HOTTTT right now. i am sweating as i type this. NOT COOL.

I honestly just read a 17 magazine. It took me back…sigh amazing memories haha :)

If you don’t have AC, I am so so sorry for you!! You can come over here and we can have a sleepover and eat ice cream.

I have a big box fan by my side of the bed and the ceiling fan on high every night. We have AC but the master bedroom in our house is the hottest room in the house and takes forever to cool down.

The last magazine I read was Runners World. I’m saving all of my magazines for when I’m not pregnant and can get back into shape and running again.

Loved that issue of “Running Times!” Desiree is amazing and I look forward to hearing more about her! Such an awesome Boston race and to think she was only 2 SECONDS behing the 1st place girl!!

Love that quote also! Sooo true!! :) “What you put in is what you take out.”

Stay cool my friend! luv ya xo :)

Eating froyo and/or ice cream…duh!! ;)

I read Better Homes & Gardens. One of my faves for home decor ideas!

It is actually not really hot in my little part of northern cali right now, I kinda wish it was so I could have a slurpee, ice cream, and chill at the pool tho :) Last magazine I read was Runners World, yay!

Janae-

Love that Champagne Pear Vin from TJ’s it’s the bomb. I JUST found their HUMMUS dressing. It is out of control delicious :-D

You are super resourceful when it comes to staying cool! (Especially the cold milk/cereal part) haha

We have a two story apartment and the A/C’s are only upstairs. On hot nights or mornings and long runs I LOVE to take coldish showers. I usually start it warm and slowly turn it cold. It cool you down AND wake you up for sure! :-D

The last magazine I read was Travel Leisure… we are planning a vacation (hopefully St. John in the Caribbean in November!!) and this issue caught my eye as it had top ten destination and other travel related lists.

All I do to beat the heat is think of how much I hate the cold during winter. After that, hot is so much better. :)

What does cool feel like? I’ve forgotten. My 8 yr old had a football game today in 107 heat. Let’s just say my padded bra absorbed a lot of sweat. However, as much as I’ve complained about our brutal hear wave I’d still take it over snow.

Last magazine – Sports Illustrated. It’s football season after all.

We have A/C but are too cheap to use it, so we installed ceiling fans in the house. It’s glorious!

I have AC, and it “broke” yesterday. Called the repairman and roasted all day, only to find out when he got there that the breaker switch blew, and all I had to do was switch it back…oops! Now I can bake my dad’s birthday cake today without being in a sauna. :)

I read a tip in Good Housekeeping earlier this summer (oh man I sound old!!) that suggested putting a bowl of ice water in front of a box fan, instant mini swamp cooler!

I have two window unit a/c’s in my house that seem to do the trick, but I’m sure it’s not as hot here as it is there! It’s VERY humid here, ick.

I can’t remember the last time I read a magazine…weird. I did get a subscription to Runner’s World, I can’t wait for it to arrive!

I don’t really read magazines very often but my Aunt had an issue of Glamour and I was going on a plane ride, so I read that. Pretty much a waste of time, but I did find out about Tayor Swift’s hair.

That cereal looks great. I want some right now!

I would like to consider the ability of saying thanks to you for the professional direction I have continually enjoyed going to your site. I will be looking forward to the actual commencement of my college research and the general prep would never have been complete without checking out your web site. If I may be of any help to others, I might be pleased to help via what I have learned from here.

I like that quote, mostly because I must never bleed in war since I sweat like no other. My husband makes me keep my dirty workout clothes in a different room because he said they smell like sweat so much they make him gag. :)
