Waffles and Pudding

July 9, 2011

It was another Friday night church night for these peeps.  I love doing this with Billy, it is something that brings us so much closer together and I LOVE working on my spiritual health!

Yes, those are my shoes on the sidewalk.  Although in real life I don’t mind wearing my 5 inch heals and being taller than Billy, I do not like to be taller than him in pictures.

IMG 0485

We got home at about 7:30 and we were starving. It had been at least three hours since I had last eaten and that is known as a code red.  Bad things happen when my blood sugar gets low.

A Friday night tradition at my in-laws is to eat eggs for dinner.  No complaining here.  Billy started doing his froaching method and putting cheese on top for egg sandwiches.

IMG 7404

Leftover waffles have been staring at me all week in the fridge and so I HAD to have one with a side of two cheesy froached eggs.  Don’t worry I moved the eggs to a separate plate so that I could smother them in ketchup right after the picture.

IMG 7406

A few hours later and I continuued my sugar themed, fruit heaven for dessert.  Don’t worry mom, I ate a boatload of vegetables for bfast and lunch and thought I would overdose if I included them at night too.

There is chocolate pudding down there somewhere.

IMG 7407

Billy got all fancy (after watching an episode of Chopped) and whipped his pudding with whipped cream to make a mousse.  He thinks he is sooooo cool.

You know what is cool?  Sitting on the couch, icing your shins, watching So You Think You Can Dance while sporting an awesome sunglass tan line in an old triathalon race shirt.

IMG 7417

Charlie loves to lick my feet after I put lotion on them.   I guess Bath and Body’s vanilla lotion tastes as good as it smells…good to know for future Code Red situations.

————————————————————————————–

What is your FAVORITE flavor (scent) of lotion?

-Bath and Body’s vanilla is AMAZING!!!

What is your husband/boyfriend/significant other/good friend’s SIGNATURE cooking/baking item?

-Billy rocks at making eggs and also ANYTHING on the grill.

Do you have a special food any certain day of the week….ie taco tuesday’s or pizza on Friday nights?

-Billy and I used to ALWAYS have homemade pizza on Thursdays….I think I need to start that up again!!!

Anyone sore from a KILLER run, workoout, lifting session?!?!

-My BUNS are screaming at me for making them do a pump class (including 500 squats, okay that is probably an exaggeration) after spin.

Bethany July 9, 2011 at 6:38 am

Abram is really good at making homemade meatballs (my family’s recipe) but he is still really good at it! Sundays tradition is always eggs for him, I eat whatever I am in the mood for! My side ab’s are killing me from my OnDemand 6-pack ab workout from this past Wednesday!!! OUCH. Love it though :)

This is going to sound uber lame – but my husband makes only one thing. White rice. But it’s reeeaalllly good. Like the pillowy, perfect rice you get at Japanese restaurants. That is his only talent besides working the microwave buttons.

Pretty pink toes, btw!

Can I just say that it’s AWESOME you are open about going to church and being spiritual? I love it, not many people would be honest enough to talk about it in a public forum. I applaud you. I sometimes find it hard to blog about it, and it’s a huge part of my life.

-Vanilla, or Lavendar. I love the aromatherapy line from B&B Works
-My hubs is really good at opening cans! Thanks babe! You’re the best :)
-We take TACO TUESDAY for serious
-I’m always hurtin’, I have some killah shin splints and am icing too! TWINKIES! My eyelids are sore from sleeping so much last night.

Yay for church! One of my favorite things is going to church with Brandon. :)

Brandon does not have a signature cooking item. Oh wait, that’s not true. Kraft Mac and Cheese. Yep, the stuff in the blue box. He has a very specific way that he has to make it, or else he doesn’t think it tastes quite right. ;)

And he makes a mean re-heated takeout pizza. :P

So, so glad that Billy had a great bday!!! How could he not with all the spoiling (fried ice cream!!!) you gave him :)

Favorite lotion for me is The Body Shop, white musk. It does an amazing job of covering any post-workout odors!!!

We have taco tuesdays and homemade pizza fridays- my kids revolt if these don’t take place. And I don’t know if it will become a regular thing but my 8 year old wants a “flamingo” dinner after seeing them at the Monterey Aquarium. We will be eating only PINK foods, standing on one leg and using ONLY our mouths…hahaha! Send me your pink food ideas!!!

Sore quads and shoulders from a P90X workout yesterday and I’m officially up to 3 miles on my return to running plan. Praying for your shin splints too- you’ll be back before you know it!!!

I am SO sorry about your awful run……girl, I cannot run in the heat. Your next run will be AMAZING and it’s those bad runs that make the good ones so awesome!

Ok..I have to ask where you got those cool icing things for your shins. I did my first tri this morning and am now sitting here icing my shins with bags of boring ice that keep falling off. :) Stress fractures suck!

Reply

CONGRATS ON YOUR FIRST TRI!!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Seriously, you go girl! The ice things are my in-laws and they are made for BASEBALL…to ice your arm. They don’t remember where they got them but I would check out baseball gear or something online or in a sporting good store. Hope that helps!

my fave scent is the forever sunshine by bath and body works, loves it!

13 miler kicked my buns this morning…mostly bc I was lazy and woke up at 8 a.m. and had to do it in 85 degree weather..def have to down 3 gallons of water today to make up for the 5 gallons of sweat I lost…very sexy, I know :)

We have crockpot Sunday dinners since we don’t get home from church until 6! It’s usually a different thing every Sunday though. Maybe we should start Taco Tuesdays though!

I used to like Victoria’s Secret Strawberries and champagne lotion, but I am kind of sick of it, my hubby loves when I wear vanilla..
and I am feeling pretty darn sore from doing a half marathon this morning I think I will be on my couch for the rest of the day; someone send over a maid.

Man…I am really missing pump…I just need TO GO to a new class but I am being all chicken about it. Although…not sure 500 squats is making me “that” excited to go. haha!

Oh friend. I just miss you! OH! I gave your name to the Active Bands lady (my friend Frances)…she is still trying to promote her business and told her that you may be interested in a giveaway. I HOPE that she contacts you. She is the sweetest girl ever and I am obsessed with her headbands. She lives in PG, Utah!

Ok, so get this…I AM sore. But it’s not from working out. It’s from work. I have the bruise the size of my stomach (which is pretty big) on my right calf. So every time my right foot hit the ground today on my run, my calf burned. It’s really quite attractive. A bruise the size of your whole calf is cool, right? I’ll just tell people my husband beats me and see how that goes over with others. KIDDING!

My hubby’s a great grilling, too. I wish he knew how to do a bit more…I think we need to enroll in a cooking class together.

My fam did Chinese on Friday nights a loooooong time ago. And I actually got sick of chinese for a while because of that. I think I would like to start something like that with the hubby…pizza night sounds good! My husband would eat it everyday I swear to you

Awesome for you working on spiritual health. When my spirit is nourished it is so much easier to take care of my physical and mental health.
My hubby is great at grilling and making chicken fried chicken.
I just got back from vacation and did a long run in the blistering Texas heat. I am now sitting on the sofa icing my foot while my hubby makes breakfast burritos for dinner. So worth it to get my body moving again.

I LOVE anything by Burt’s Bee’s, so basically any lotion they put out is something I will gladly slather over my body…

Boyfriend makes a killer pasta primavera! it was one of the first things he cooked for me and it was soooooo good that we have it still!

My legs are super sore from a combo of upping my running time + having moved to a city where I walk an average of 4 miles a day. I’ve been stretching after every walk or run, but I still am feeling some tenderness in my shins and my feet are quite throbby. Sigh!

Those waffles are calling my name! Mmmm. I’m sore today for sure from some workouts the past several days. Today was a rest day…but I stood on my feet for like 9 hours at work, so my feet are sore! Billy is going massage them. :)

I like non-scented lotion, weirdly. I always spray perfume so I don’t want it to interfere!

My boyfriend is the griller. I don’t do it. I’ll prep everything and anything but I don’t really do the grill!

We always eat pizza on Sundays. It’s our cheat day and pizza is our favorite food. It’s sad for more than one reason. A. We can seriously eat like 10,000 calories on this day. B. I say WE because I eat just as much as a 185 pound built male.

I am SUPER sore from squats and deadlifts yesterday. I haven’t done them in like 3 weeks so my legs are really confused.

Lastly, you have nice feet for a runner. Is that weird? Why are my feet all messed up from running? Lol.. I have terrible problems w/ toenails and calluses and…eww i’ll stop!!

I read that you’ve been dealing with shin splints and I DEFINITELY feel your pain! I’ve had them since January (!!!) and have had to bow out of two half-marathons and now a couple months of running. I started physical therapy last week and he told me something interesting that I also noticed about you – shin splints can be caused in part when your second toe is longer than your big toe! He gave me some strengthening exercises to do, which I’d be happy to share if you’re interested! Hope they get better soon :-)

Ahh I love anything vanilla or coconut! It reminds me of VACATION!

I know it sounds weir but Dean makes the most perfect grilled cheese sandwiches! They are grilled to perfection. He also just made a really awesome tomato and herb pasta sauce. YUM.

We used to have “Fresh Fridays” because we always used to go to a restaurant called Fresh on Fridays ha. Now we go on any day of the week since we are off for the summer so it doesn’t really work!

I am totally sore. Today I ran a 10K race, lifted with Dean at the gym after, and then went for a bike ride (to get ice cream).
