It has probably been 6 months since I have stepped foot on that awful piece of machinery known as the stair master. I used to be able to do it for an hour on a high level but let’s be honest, at this point in my fitness I made it ten minutes at a time before the Gold’s Gym employees would ask me to leave because I was causing a scene with the amount of sweat I was leaving behind.
Combined with my cardio ADD (except for running) and the fact that the stair master kicked my trash, I was able to get in a great workout.
10 minutes elliptical, level 10
10 minutes stair climber, level 10
Repeat 3 times, going up a level each time.
You know what made the time go by crazy fast……
WATCHING CHOPPED. I am going to cry the day that I catch up on all the seasons. I firmly believe that my Chopped obsession will be equivalent to going to culinary arts school for my future restaurant:)
Finished off with some stretching and people thinking I am a loser for watching chopped at the gym.

What was your Friday workout?!?!













Friday workout was a core/treadmill intervals class (50 minutes). Part of it was 30 minute sprint intervals @3%. I pushed myself, and swear to god – I was terrified of flying off of the back of the treadmill. But – I survived. My hair, on the other hand, was not at its best after that. Thank goodness I was already planning on showering before I left to go to work!
Today I just ran an easy 4 miler…..wasn’t feeling a tough workout, so I just relaxed a little!
Nice morning with my bud, Nat, at FitBody Bootcamp. It’s 45 minutes of H-E-L-L! Feel the burn, love to sweat!
5 K walk and 2.0 k’s alternating running and walking. I made it to two minutes running straight Janae!! Whoo!! Personal record time!

My Friday workout was a 4 hour shopping trip with my 4 yo twins and then I tried to do Wk 1 Day 3 of the Bridge to 10k program. I put in 3.1 miles but only got 3/4 of the way through before I gave in to the heat and pain. (I’m easing back into running after having to stop using my custom orthotics since they no longer fit correctly.)
I ran 3 miles! Okay for me that’s huge. I is proud. :)
Chopped is my religion…I LOVE it. So much. I almost want to get an Ipad just so I can watch it at the gym :-)
I obsess over Chopped. Since I am going to culinary school and plan to open a restaurant, I will hire you to work there. Maybe something like official taste tester?
I just tried my first run since race day but who knew I could hurt so much from my swim workout the other day? good grief, I hurt in places I didn’t know I had…like small arm muscles.
Do you exercise with you ipad?
I did the stepmill today for the first time in a year. Kicked my ass. Like you, I used to do it a ton. Today I barely made it 20 minutes. But we will get stronger!

My friday workout was my first speedwork session of marathon training! 4 miles, it was great. :)
