Cage Fighting, Mango Salsa and the Baby Bullet

June 18, 2011

I know you were all worried sick about me being out another day on the roads with 15 year olds that still don’t understand the whole stay in your own lane thing, but I survived.  Kind of.  There was only 2 close calls today, don’t worry too much Mom.

I got home after six and Billy was watching UFC fighting.  Who decided that it was okay to put two men into a cage together too see who can break the other person’s nose first?

IMG 6727

Um, sorry honey but I will never allow you to be a UFC fighter…… but maybe I will buy you the wii and a game that you can air fight a cartoon character on the tv.

Ash had an amazing dinner ready for us.  Seriously, there is nothing better than having dinner ready after a long day of work, especially when it is the perfect summer food ever.

Caesar salad (2 helpings for me), grilled chicken with mango salsa (I lost count how many times I went back for more) and fruit (I will let the canker sores tell you how many full pineapples I actually ate last night).

IMG 6721

And for dessert…….looking through Ash’s wedding pictures.  I have a serious problem when it comes to weddings.  I could look through pictures all day, watch every season of ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ five times, go into a bakery asking for samples for my upcoming wedding cake (not that I do that very often) and wear my wedding dress around my house when I am home alone (remember that Friends episode!?!).

IMG 6725

For some reason the boys weren’t interested in joining us.

IMG 6724

And the coolest part of the night was clearly the informercial.  Billy took my phone away as I was dialing to order the baby bullet.  A mini magic bullet with a smiley face painted on, I am sold.

Do you have a magic bullet or a blender?

-Billy made fun of me for so long about my obsession with the magic bullet, until he tried it.  It is just way too convenient not to buy.

Do you run/workout with your significant other?

-Bbop and I are going on a run this morning, I hope he enjoys the run/walk method that I have to do:)  You can read about our FIRST run together HERE..

Do you love looking at wedding stuff as much as me?  Wedding movies/shows?

-I think I have watched ‘The Wedding Planner’ at least 56 times in my lifetime.

We have a magic bullet. We don’t use it that often. It goes in spurts… like we’ll eat smoothies for dessert for like a week, then it goes back in the pantry for 6 weeks. weird. BUT i totally want a BABY BULLET.

We go to the gym together, but don’t work out together. Maybe every once and awhile… We don’t run together very often either. I’m too competitive. Since he smoked me at a half marathon a few years ago, I am always determined to stay in front of him when running. It’s too exhausting.

and I love wedding stuff. 2 of my friends recently got engaged and I told them both that I want to go dress shopping and plan the bachelorette parties. ;)

Had a blast with you guys last night. It seriously makes me sad that you are leaving me for 7 weeks. :(

The baby bullet looks SO cool! I always get sucked into those infomercials! I have a 7 month old and I make all of her baby food, but I have a Vitamix, which is pretty much the cats pajama’s!
I haven’t started running yet (but it is in my future). I have some weight to lose before running will be comfortable. But I do go to the gym and when my hubs isn’t working he is always game, but I have to initiate it.
I LOVE going through my wedding photo’s, I was so skinny and in shape. Motivation for me!

We have a blender and I have officially gone through three magic bullets so I am cut off. I am pretty hard on my appliciances..hence I can make up to four smoothies a day.
Craig usto run when he was in HS and his knees are really messed up. He has been blessed with an awesome metabolisim so he basically eats what he wants. I am still working on getting him to workout..even though he does not need to I think in general he would have more energy. I do have to give it to him though, he is really good about getting out and about, he loves going fishing/hunting etc…and his job he is always on the go moving things so he is pretty active.
My fav show on TLC is Four Weddings, I love it! I have been thinking/dreaming non-stop wedding, I am hoping I will have one to plan in the near future…we just looked at rings last week…eeeekkkk!

I don’t have a Magic Bullet. Sometimes I just don’t understand the point of infomercials.

I love wedding stuff. I could watch those shows all day long!!! I am working towards becoming an event planner. Although I don’t ever want to get married.

I’ve always wanted a magic bullet, but never got one because I have this weird distrust issue with infomercials…

I LOVE looking at weddings, but only because I’m fantasizing about my future wedding :)

I don’t run/workout with my boyfriend but I wish I did. He loves exercising at night, but I’m definitely a morning person.

OMG I’m obsessed with wedding things! I want my boyfriend to propose- but I think that right now most of it is because I want to play dress-up :) We’re both in grad school so I know that getting married right now isn’t an option haha…but I wouldn’t mind a long engagement. Have you ever read the Bride Quartet series by Nora Roberts? All about weddings :) they are awesome

I am OBSESSED with my Magic Bullet. I just had a shake before reading this post. AND, I use it SO much that I just had to order new blades for it because it would barely chop up the spinach in my smoothies anymore. My hubs even complains about hearing it now. It’s like background music in the house. Hee!

By the way, you can get those new blades for $3 each on Amazon. Deal!

Mango salsa is the best!

We have a magic bullet that used to get used a lot but it sadly got upstaged by a Vitamix last year when we got one as a wedding gift.

Me and my hubby go to the gym a couple days a week together, but don’t really workout together. Sunday mornings we run together though :)

My mil got me the magic bullet when we first got married and I have to say I HATE it! Mine doesn’t work for crap! I can’t throw it out for fear she’ll ask about it one day so it just sits in the back of one of my cabinets taking up space and not being used.

About a year after we got married, I was home watching friends reruns, waiting for my husband to get home, and the wedding dress episode came on. I thought “why not?” and pulled my dress out and put it on. Problem: it was a corset/lace up back, and somehow I thought it would be a good idea to lace it up all the way and tie it tight. Yea… I quickly found out I couldn’t get out of it alone. 2+ hrs later my husband and walks through the door to find me in my wedding dress on the couch with an open pint of ice cream on my lap.

We bought a vitamix last summer, and I adore it! It was a huge investment, but I’ve used it almost every day since, and my kids will now drink smoothies with zucchini, broccoli, kale, etc because it’s so effective at leaving no small bits. Love!

I LOVE my magic bullet. We use it about 4 times a week. We use it so much that the tabs on most of our cups have broken off which makes them unusable in the base! You can buy 6 more cups for $30 but for that price I should just buy a whole new system! I have never heard of the baby bullet.
My husband thinks running is the worst kind of torture known to man, so no, we don’t work out together. I would absolutely love to, though. He plays golf and that’s torture to me!

that baby bullet is friggin’ cute.

I DO love weddings, but perhaps not as much as you, my dear. But, I have been thinking about doing a full engagement/wedding post ever since you requested to see more of my photos. We shall see :D. It may be in my near future.

Everytime an infomercial comes on I have to steal and hide Mike’s phone because he would buy everything! I don’t understand.

I literally just read this post aloud to him because it cracked me up so much I had to prove that I wasn’t a crazy person.

I LOVE my magic bullet. Definitely one of the best wedding presents I got. I make a fruit smoothe in it every morning. It’s also great for making salad dressings!

My husband and I love running together. It’s usually 10:30 at night when we can even go together but we love running off the day before bed.

As for wedding shows…LOVE THEM!!! I’m obsessed with “Say Yes to the Dress.” I’m kind of disappointed that I didn’t have 5g’s to drop on a dress at Kleinfelds when I was getting married. Oh well.

I love the magic bullet, and I totally want to trade my regular (craptastic) blender in for one. and if it’s tiny and has a smiley face on it, there’s even more reason to do so.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Magic Bullet. I use it almost every day.
The only kind of running my hubs does with me is in my dreams. We play volleyball and go biking together!

I almost have my hubby convinced to get me a vitamix :D but for now we have a cheapo hamilton beach.
We don’t run together because he’s recovering from plantar fascitis in BOTH feet but we do swim together. We always race the last 50 meters but since I always do twice the laps he does when swimming, he always smokes me at the end. As for weddings, does the Princess Bride count? I didn’t even get much into my own wedding. I was just happy to have family around and to say I DO to my best friend :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Magic Bullet! I was so excited after the first time I used it and had to harass my family to try it’s awesome-ness. My sister is hooked on the gadget too now.

I love the movie The Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore… such a classic! And I ALWAYS tear up at weddings, I can’t control it… and it is kind of embarrassing…

Oh my gosh, I love Say Yes to the Dress! My new favorite, however, is Four Weddings. Have you seen it? Basically 4 women go to each others’ weddings and rank them based on the dress, decor, food, etc. So, you know it is going to be disastrous/extremely hilarious!

I know what you mean about UFC fighting, I just don’t get it. I really want a baby bullet, but my hubby says that our processor works just fine. This coming from the guy that doesn’t make the baby food. Like you, I could look at pictures all day. I love going through old photos and watching anything wedding related. I’ve seen Father of the Bride more times than I can remember.

I am obsessed with Say Yes to the Dress. I’m not even married or getting married soon, I just love looking at pretty gowns. :)

I so very much wish my boyfriend could run with me. He busted his knee when he slipped on black ice while on a run in college and he didn’t get around to having it properly fixed. :( But he supports me and comes with me to races so that totally makes up for it!

I’ve never heard of a magic bullet before but I’m googling it right I after I post this!

I have a magic bullet but I hardly use it! I like it though… but it kind of smells a little burnt when I use it for too long at once which is concerning lol. :)

Is the mango salsa from costco? ;) coz i tried some there today!

Also I have been known to poilsh off an embarrassing amount of pineapple and end up with a red ring around my mouth, oooops…

Okay so I clicked on your post about your first run with Billy and I almost cried! That is the SWEETEST most adorable, thoughtful, melt my heart story I have ever read. You married a keeper that’s for sure!! Seriously, I told that story to a couple of my friends after I read it and they were like, “Awwwww!” So sweet!

I’ve been able to run with my hubby a couple times. We were training for a marathon together a couple years ago and we would get babysitters every Saturday so we could do our long runs together. It was awesome “alone” time and really gave a boost to our marriage to have that time together and a common hobby. We also ran a Ragnar relay race together which was a pretty sweet date too ; )
