9:34

May 31, 2011

Went to the doc’s this morning.

X-rays

look awesome.

Completed drills with no pain.

I cried happiness tears.

I came home and ran a mile

pain free in 9:34.

Billy walked in on me on the last .04 after school.

He could hear me hooting and hollering happy words from a block away.

Life is good.  I have a long road ahead of me and have to start SMALL and SLOW but I can’t even describe how happy I am to start this journey and enjoy every step I take.

One mile in 9:34.  I cried typing that.

If you make fun of me for not cleaning up all of our camping gear, I can and will chase you down now:)

That is awesome to hear!!! That must have been kind of emotional to run that first mile. I hope that you continue to improve with more miles to come.

I have felt your pain the past couple months, because I haven't really been on a normal run since like late March I think due to runners knee. I don't know when I'll feel normal again, but hopefully sometime soon I can be back on the roads. I already know that I will likely get emotional after I'm able to run and not feel any pain during or after the run will be a big moment.
