Sunday Night Dinner X 2.

In case you were to busy to come see what shenanigans we were up to this weekend you can click below to see what was going on over the last few days……

Table for 18

Burnin’ Those Hamstrings.

Sandwiches, Fireworks and the Winner is…….

Money Does Buy Happiness.

—————————————————————————————-

I learned my lesson and I will never steal my nieces pretzels again.  Evil eyes and a fist ready to give me a bloody nose if I even think of stealing another one. Don’t worry the hat still will not come off…….Friday night we did get her to take it off and forget about it for a full 10 minutes….baby steps.

IMG 5259

We had dinner plans with Billy’s bro and sis-in-law but we couldn’t help but crash my parents house and steal some of their dinner.  I wonder when I will ever be able to cut the umbilical cord? Mom, you are coming to law school with us right?!?!

IMG 5260

Billy likes to pull her around the room in her chair by her feet.  Very entertaining.

We had a lil’ roast, corn/green beans, a roll and some au gratin potatoes.  My parents neighbors must think that I have completely gone insane. To 99.9999% of the world it just isn’t normal to prop your food on the deck rail so that you can get good lighting and an awesome background for a picture of food.  The things I do for you guys:)

IMG 5263

Dinner number two was chicken enchiladas and a grape Powerade.  Gotta get in my electrolytes so that I will be able to walk the Boston marathon in a week:)

IMG 5265

And then my neighbor brought over these beauties to thank us for letting her use our cupcake stand………

IMG 5269

Pink lemonade and red velvet cupcakes.  They are staring at me.  Let’s take a poll……..

Which cupcake do you think I ate:

A.) Pink lemonade

B.) Red Velvet

C.) Both plus 3 fun size kit kat bars.  Poor Billy didn’t even know they were in the house.

D.) None. (If you guess this one than you must be a new reader or something.)

What is your favorite flavor of Gatorade/Powerade?

-GRAPE and Lemon-lime.

Random running question of the day…..Would you rather get the hills over at the beginning of a race or save them till the end?

-I like to get them over at the beginning.  I wonder if I talk to the Boston event coordinators they could switch up the course a little bit for next Monday.

hahaha those poor new readers never had a chance. : )

I pick option C- both plus the kit kat bars, you definitely know how to eat girl!
I'm not sure what the flavor of Gatorade is but the color is light purple, it's my favorite!
I prefer to get the hills over at the beginning of the race!

Reply

I vote both and kit-kats, obviously! They look seriously beautiful and even though I just had breakfast I am ready for a cupcake now, thanks.
That hat is so cute, she will look beautiful wearing it to prom in 15 years.

Reply

I vote red velvet! My fav Gatorade is strawberry. I would way rather hit the hills first and get them over with.

Reply

I'll be there walking with you – can you bring the cupcakes and I'll bring the electrolytes?

Reply

Mmmmm cupcakes! : ) They looked delicious.
I hope you ate both!
My favorite Gatorade flavor is Orange Strawberry.
I like getting the hills over with first too.
: )

I love love the pictures of your niece with her hat on! They are so precious! I definitely want you to continue writing about Kara's book! I vote C and I only like purple or red drinks! I definitely prefer to do hills in the begining!

Reply

The cupcakes look AMAZING!!!
I like lemon-lime and orange Gatorade.
As for hills I say at the end. If they're all at the begining you'll tire out quicker and the remainder of the race will be at a slower pace. If at the end you will run a faster race overall… well that's my logic anyway and it makes sense in my head :)

Reply

Those cupcakes look awesome! I'm guessing letter C) (its what I would do!)!
Both of your dinners look delicious!

Reply

Option 3!
I would have the hills at the start with fresh legs. By the end I am dragging my feet along and hills seem like the devil!

Reply

Hills in the beginning – at least that is what I am hoping Pittsburgh is like! ;)

Reply

You better have eaten both of them. I was in Utah last month and had a cupcake from the Sweet Tooth Fairy (I am sure those are from there since they look just like the ones we had!). It was some sort of cinnamon chai something or other.. but it was the moistest most delicious amazing cupcake I have EVER had. Next time I go to Utah, I am heading straight there.

Reply

At the beginning when I am still fresh and excited and ready to go!

Reply

You are crazy :-) I'd save them for the end so that once the hills are done, the run is done and I can relax!

I've never heard of a pink lemonade cupcake before… what's it like??

Reply

omg that is the cutest/funniest baby pic I've ever seen. Record that kid and put her on America's funniest videos asap! :)

Reply

Option C because that's what I would have done.

I like lemon-lime Gatorade. It always reminds me of racing.

Give me the hills at the beginning because hills at the end are some kind of cruel joke.

Reply

i love reading your posts! always so funny. My guess is C…all cupcakes plus kit kats!!!!!

Reply

C…haha! Those cupcakes look yummy!

Reply

Girl I think you def ate both with some kitkats, too! I hope you did….we are soulmates! haha :)
And hills? I'd like to never do them…is that an option?

Reply

Those cupcakes looks delicious! I hope you ate the cupcakes and the kitkats because it was Sunday after all. The day that we don't workout and eat all day. (oh wait that is what I do.)

Much rather get the hills over with at the beginning of the race but it never seems to work out that way.

The Boston hills are steep, but the race has more excitement that you can even imagine that you will barely even notice you are rockin it up heartbreak hill until you are finished.

Whether you are running or walking the race, it will still be one of the best experiences of you life. I was injured in 2008 when I did it and had to do a run/walk. My time stunk, but the experience was life changing and the memory will be forever embedded into my mind. There is always going to be another race, always :)

I LOVE blue Gatorade. It is all I drink when I workout.

Reply

Not that I've run enough races to have a firm opinion bt I think I'd rather get the hills over at the beginning. There's something about knowing the hardest part is behind you and to know that if you already did that you can definitely do the rest.
Not a huge fan of Gatorade/Powerade.

Reply

I am sure you had both! lol…love Red Velvet!

Reply

Get hills done at the beginning please!!! My last half started out with a huge hill, but it was a loop sort of so it ended with a great downhill and my fastest split of the race! Perfect!

Reply

That Pink Lemonade looks amazing!
A long time ago, Gatorade made a clear "Lemon Ice" that I loved – I haven't seen it in forever! Love all the red flavors though.

I am totally on board with you about changing the Boston course. I think I would prefer to hike up a mountain for 1 mile and go gradually downhill the whole rest of the race :).

Reply

I chose C

Reply

Clearly you had both cupcakes! They look amazing.

I had a to die for cupcake yesterday as well—-chocolate cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese icing. The icing = cinnabon. It rocked my world. Commence daydreaming about it all day (and trying to resist the urge to eat the 3 leftovers in my freezer all night). :)

Powerade—grape, definitely!

I vote for hills at the beginning!

Reply

None because you wanted to send them to me so I could devour them!

Reply

I vote for C! You'll have to tell me how that pink lemonade one was. YUM!
It looks like you had a great weekend! New ipads! Sweet! We're an apple family. I swore we were not going to get an ipad because we didn't need one and then when we went to Cali last fall we went shopping for a DVD system for the car. They were the same price as an ipad so that's what we got. My husband takes it to church for notes in his meetings, uses it for his scriptures, and the kids can draw on it during sac meeting. We are a horrible example!
Hills at the beginning please!

Reply

I think if you're anything like me, you ate the red velvet… or you thought "red velvet is best, I'm going to save it for last". Either way is fine. :)

Reply

I vote, C.

My daughter screams, "NOOO MOMMY, MY COOKIE!!!" when I try and sneak a pretzel. *sigh*

I've never run a race so i ahve no idea! BUT i just signed up for the nike women's half marathon in san fran in october. i'm kind of in shock. haha.

also, saw this article about candy eaters being healthier and thought of you :P

Those are definitely my 2 flavors of choice as well. Love GRAPE anything, laffy taffy, koolaid, popsicle, snow cone, airheads etc etc

I am not an uber runner yet so haven't run many hills. I would think I would want them at the beginning though lol!

Reply

Pink lemonade cupcake?! I guess C: both + kit kats. I love your niece's face in that picture, she definitely takes on your crazy faces. I'd rather have hills early or in the middle of a race compared to at the end. At the end of races, all I want is a speedy flat or downhill.

Reply

definitely C. your niece is so cute! at least it's a cute hat and not like a Dr. Seuss style hat. she just looks like she's ready for the beach.. all the time… in Utah. hrmm….

p.s. I want those cupcakes!

Reply

Oh DEFINITELY get those hills over with in the beginning. Even though I run on hills every day in Central Park, they are still my arch-nemesis. A pink lemonade cupcake sounds mucho interesting. YUMMY

Reply

Grape is my favorite too! I love ANYTHING grape flavored.
I love that you had two dinners, that is awesome! :)
& For the poll I choose: A…pink lemonade because it sounds absolutely delicious..never had that flavor before & I'm sure you shared with Billy ;)
Thanks again for making me smile :) & Making my Monday EVEN better! You are the BEST!

Reply

I think option 3 is what you went with :) I love blue raspberry, btw. And, Yes, HILLS first-not last!!

Reply

option 3 for sure!! i think the end.. its easier to push myself when i know im almost done!! and if i did them in the beginning.. id probaly wear out easily!

Reply

i need neighbors to bring me amazing treats like that. hmm hills I say in the middle actually, it's a little break for the legs to use different muscles

Reply

Option C

Blue (I think it is called something else, but the color is blue)

Hills at the beginning. I did a half-marathon about a week ago with a killer 1-2 mile hill in the first half, then we got to coast down hill for a few miles! Awesome.

Reply

Red velvet!

I don't like gatorade/powerade. Too sweet for me. I know, I'm weird. :)

Reply

Red velvet all the way…although I'd have to choose option C because who could let a good looking cupcake go to waste? I also hate powerade and gatorade. I would rather have hills at the beginning than the end.

Reply

I love your little niece and her hat! So cute!

I love lemon/lime gatorade and the blue powerade… whatever flavor that is.

I hope you ate both cupcakes!

I ran a hilly race yesterday and the hills were throughout. I definitely would want to get them over with in the beginning!!

Reply

I chose at the BEGINNING of the race. Then mentally you know you are just cruising the rest of the way. Truth be told, I kind of have a crush on hills right now. Maybe not in races, but definitely for training runs. They kick your butt and make you so much stronger!

Reply

Hey girlie!! I love how your plate of food looks like angels are holding it to the heavens!!
Your niece is soo adorable!! :)

I love grape and melon flavored gatorade!!
I think you ate all of the red velvet, took a bite of the lemonade one plus one kit kat bar for dessert…'cuz that's how you roll!!

Def. hills in the beginning!!

Have an AWESOME MONDAY!! :)

Reply

Your niece is adorable!!!!! Annnnnd those cupcakes look AMAZING. I would definitely go for option 3 :)
-I'm a lemon-lime fanatic. Yum, yum, and yum.
-Hmm….maybe hills about 5-6 miles in? Definitely not at the end…

Reply

If it were me it would be both, your neighbor must be a professional or something!

Reply

Hills done with in the beginning! Hills at the end are the worst

Reply

I'm gonna have to go with C.

Definitely with you on getting hills over with. I have trouble saving my energy for a flat finish much less a hilly one.

Orange in the bottle and grape in the fantabulous Gatorade G2 packets. I bring my own Gatorade to my running group because I dislike lemon-lime and that's what they usually serve.

Reply

we are twins! grape and lemon lime are my two faves too!

Reply

I am SO happy to see that I am not the only person on the planet that eats 2 dinners sometimes. As a runner, one dinner just doesn't cut it!! My night is complete.
