Food Guide Pyramid

February 17, 2011

Janae’s interpretation of the Food Guide Pyramid for dinner last night:

Grains: Toast (not pictured)

Veggies: Spinach, broccoli and tomatoes.

Fruits: Grapes, Oranges, Strawberries and Limes (in the form of skittles)

Protein: Tuna and black beans.

Dairy: More chocolate milk.

Fats: More avocado than you thought possible to eat in one sitting.

One complete and balanced meal in my weird little brain.

I was a little grumpy pants after school yesterday until I got those legs pumping again at spin and then all was right again in the world.  I think Billy would pay big bucks for a little jar of endorphin pills to give me every time I go a few hours without exercise.

Spin Playlist:

1. More by Usher: Warm-up

2. Who Dat Girl by Akon: Jumps

3. We R Who We R by Kei$ha: Isolations

4. Rockateer by Far East Movement: Dancing

5. Bleed America by Jimmy Eat World: Sprints

6. Sweetest Girl by Akon: Hill climb in the saddle

7. Perfect by Pink: Hill climb out of the saddle

8. Born This Way by Lady Gaga: Dancing/partying it up

9. Double Vision by 3oh!: More Sprinting

10. Love The Way You Lie by Eminem and Rhiana: Crank that tension

11. Teenage Dream by Katy Perry: Jumps

12. RIght Round by Flo RIda: High tension isolations

13. Yeah 3X by Chris Brown: Superman’s and dancing

14. All I Ever Wanted Base Hunters: Combo of everything

15. Marry Me by Train: Cooldown.  Um, cutest song in the world.

PIXIE sent me the cutest PURPLE workout shirt and so I decided to show off my guns for you.  You better believe I kiss those suckers every day….

Do not be concerned, I am not sick, my skin is normally that pale, fake tanner is too expensive to use anywhere but my face:) Maybe I should move the treadmill outside, that would be funny to see someone running on a treadmill outside right next to the sidewalk.  My next goal will be a marathon on my treadmill outside.

For those of you that come to my Thursday 6 a.m. spin class and I am in the same outfit as my Wednesday night spin class, I am saying in advance I am embarrassed but you have to understand how lazy I am, heaven forbid I take an extra shower.

Do you ever wear the same workout clothes two workouts in a row.

-I am gross and I do for my two spin classes in a row.

Where do you buy your workout clothes from?

-Target for sports bra’s, nike outlet for shorts and Runner’s Corner for shorts and tops:)

What is your favorite workout song right now?

-Who Dat Girl is really fun to run to!

Do you try to balance your meals with the food guide pyramid?

Charissa Steyn February 17, 2011 at 6:49 am

Do I ever where the same workout clothes!!! HA!!! A big fat YES!! :) Hehe … I am really bad, I don't even want to confess it, but I have like no running clothes!! I rotate the same 3-4 tanks with two different shorts…its disgusting! I don't mind, I mean I stink, but that's the way I'm supposed to smell anyways…except for maybe the first few minutes of a run. My hubby is ready to invest in getting me some new stuff, I'm in no rush :) I like feeling like a just worked out :)

Have a great day Lady!!

Kimberly @ Im Not Done February 17, 2011 at 6:50 am

Target for seamless sports bras, and the sale rack at my local running store for everything else!

I do a terrible job of balancing my meals!

blackhuff February 17, 2011 at 6:52 am

You have great arm muscles – wow!
My workout clothes I buy from a Sports shop.
My fav workout song right now is Boom Boom Pow of Black Eye Peas.
Running on a treadmill beside the pavement – LOL!

movesnmunchies February 17, 2011 at 6:54 am

AHAH AI totally wear my workout clothes two days in a row.. one time i worked out and didnt even shower.. then slept in my workout clothes from that day and then woke up and worked out in the SAME clothes HEHE
I always try to balance my meals iwht the vegan food pyramid ;) I WISH I COULD GO TO UR SPIN CLASS!

Cait February 17, 2011 at 6:56 am

love this post- and eeks yes i do wear some workout clothes two days in a row ;) hahaha. sometimes i sleep in them so i can just get up early in the morning, hit the gym do to do it all over agin! i try and balance my meal with everything needed but its a little harder on certain days. oh well- i NEED to go to your spin class..just wish we lived closer :(

Jenn February 17, 2011 at 6:56 am

Outside treadmill marathon. You would get no looks with that one! My husband hung me a gigantuous mirror right next to my treadmill so I would have some company since I have literally NO running friends. I am thinking hanging some overhead ultraviolet lights might just complete my little setup. Like a real outdoor race (except perhaps I would get sunburn in my scalp and I would never beat the girl next to me…..)

Outerlayer outdoor stuff I wear more than once. The other stuff, saturated…..I wear a lot of Brooks because of the Brooks ID but Target sports bras, Nike and Underarmour grab a lot of my cash too. I order a lot from runningwarehouse.

Who Dat girl, I Need a Doctor, Hit the Lights, Super Bass, More, and Words I never said on the playlist this morning!

Have a great day:)

Sara February 17, 2011 at 6:59 am

I will wear the same thing when I teach two classes back to back, I am not going to make any extra laundry for myself :) I buy my workout clothes from the nike outlet and try to find great nike deals at TJ Maxx and Marshalls too!

My absolute fav song to work out to right now is "My first kiss"

And I never think about the pyramid, I just try to balance what I eat to properly fuel my body for running!

So…I have a random ? for you–I've been doing my marathon training on the treadmill because I live in New England and we still have like 100 billion inches of snow and ice on the ground. I've been doing it at an incline of 1%, do you think that is sufficient to mimic running outside? I have read conflicting things.

creatingkarlek February 17, 2011 at 7:04 am

yea fiesta style salad! :)

I do wear my vibrams on the treadmill, but just breakin' um in- they are rubbling against the back of my ankle and that HURTS.
I am heel striking, but trying to mix it up to find a new comfortable/ normal way to run and plant my foot. My foot itself is def. getting a workout though, which is a completely weird experience!

I would LOVE to move my treadmill outside!! I would put it under a canopy for shade and rain protection and be surrounded by trees…thats SUCH a good idea! Fav workout song now is coming home by diddy- I am slightly embarrassed to admit that for some reason.

Jessica Joy Daly February 17, 2011 at 7:05 am

I am guilty as charged :) I do wear the same workout clothes, and no, I am not ashamed.

My workout clothes mostly come from Target or department stores or online sales :)

I love your interpretation of the food guide pyramid. Sometimes I try to figure out how ice cream for dinner can fit into all of those categories.

RunningWild February 17, 2011 at 7:15 am

looks like a great balanced meal to me ;)
I but most of my workout clothes from tjmaxx, an outlet, or any store thats having a great sale. gotta love a bargain!
and yes, i wear the same workout clothes, unless i totally destroyed them with lots of sweat the day before :)

Carrie February 17, 2011 at 7:20 am

You should probably release a new edition of the Food Guide specifically for speedy awesome runners. Your interpretation makes me hungry for second breakfast! :)

I have always wanted to have a treadmill in a sunroom. I honestly think it would be perfect – pace readouts, incline on command, water bottle and fuel handy and still sunny and beautiful :) I have neither of those things right now, but one day. Even better if the sunroom is in a house on the beach! My life goals are pretty lofty ;)

I have definitely reworn the same gym clothes. Sometimes doing a workout is just way more important than laundry, y'know? And I get my workout clothes from lulu and New Balance!

ms. caboo February 17, 2011 at 7:20 am

I can't wear my workout clothes twice in a row. Once, and they are drenched in sweat and still damp the next day. They go in the wash.

I buy my bras from Champion, cause I got boobies, and Target doesn't sell a good bra for me. I like to lock the girls in! I buy shorts and tops at Target, Dick's and Scheel's.

Liz February 17, 2011 at 7:21 am

Haha, funny thing – I actually used to think Skittles were a source of fruit in middle school! No joke – I am 100% serious.

If I don't sweat a ton, I totally re-wear workout clothes :)

chefkatelyn February 17, 2011 at 7:26 am

Hahahaha wait let's run a treadmill marathon on the sidewalk by your house and instead of raising money we can raise Swedish fish:)

Slash I LOVE running to the glee songs!! I am a dorkasaurus I know but their version of bills bills bills is so. Freaking. Good.

Double slash I don't wash my workout clothes, its fine and I eat a whole avocado in one sitting, so good:)

Sarah February 17, 2011 at 7:27 am

haha I also wear workout clothes over and over again. gross, maybe, but don't you get gross wearing them?

I try to eat a balanced diet, but life happens!

runyogarepeat February 17, 2011 at 7:28 am

I love that you dance in your spin classes! I re-wear workout clothes all the time cause I have my favorites!

Sheanna February 17, 2011 at 7:28 am

Yep, guilty, I will wear workout clothes twice in a row. I don't have a whole lot of workout clothes to begin with, though.

As far as shopping for workout clothes….I go wherever is cheapest. That reminds me…I need a new sports bra.

As far as workout songs go…I'm weird and I HAVE TO listen to gangsta rap. When I'm not working out I listen to classic rock almost exclusively (I love David Bowie sooooo much it's stupid), so it's weird that I listen to gangsta rap when I work out. Currently I like Roman's Revenge by Nikki Minaj and Eminem. It's full of foul language and filthy imagery, but it gets my mind to where it needs to be in order to kick my own butt.

misszippy February 17, 2011 at 7:30 am

I'm going to call you skinny runner girl–you are so tiny! Love your food pyramid.

BeePieRuns February 17, 2011 at 7:36 am

I've started buying some of my workout gear at Academy – it's a sporting goods store that is much cheaper than the others… you can get nike tempos for $20!!
Avocados ARE my food pyramid :) I go thru half a dozen in a week on a slow week.

Small Town Runner February 17, 2011 at 7:39 am

Sometimes wear my workout stuff two times…always new underwear though =D

Alyssa February 17, 2011 at 7:40 am

In the winter I only have a few running outfits I like to keep me warm so I pretty much wear the same thing each day and just hang it up in between. The embarrassing thing is I run with a running group so they see me in the same outfit all the time. My favorite running stuff is underarmour, but if I can't make it to their outlet then I hit up stores like Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshells for brand name stuff on the cheap. Anything from Glee works for me right now to workout to! I'm a vegetarian so I make sure i get lots of protein with my veggies so that I can stay awake.

Kristina @ Life as Kristina February 17, 2011 at 7:41 am

You crack me up-I love it!

Small Town Runner February 17, 2011 at 7:45 am

Yeah..I have been doing a lot of downhill training, but not too much as a specific workout. I guess the temptation to go out fast on the downhill stretch at B is pretty good, and the legs take a toll whether it's fast or not.
I have gotten a few emails/comments from veterans that downhill is where the focus should be as it stresses the legs differently. It's hard to do on a TM with no downhill, but really, I think you are gonna be fine because of all the extra spin you do. quadzilla =D

Jogging with Fiction February 17, 2011 at 7:47 am

I just pictured you running on a treadmill outside and it cracks me up.

In college, when laundry was expensive and tough to get to, I used to reuse my workout clothes a couple days in a row. I've since improved on my habits and I really only reuse shorts occationally.

I get most of my workout gear from the outlets near my house, under armour and champion are my favorites.

Elisha February 17, 2011 at 7:47 am

I used to wear workout clothes two times in a row, but that was when I only did the elliptical and it was on such a low setting that I never broke a sweat. ha ha
Most of my workout clothes are from the outlet stores (Champion, Under Armour) but I also have some stuff from Champion's Target line.
I do try to make sure that my meals are balanced and that I get enough veggies throughout the day. I also make sure that I have a tiny bit of fat (nuts w/ oatmeal, avocado on salad, flax seed in non-fat yogurt) with every meal because you need fat to absorb certain vitamins and nutrients.

Katy February 17, 2011 at 7:47 am

You're too cute! I love your top, btw, what brand is it?!

I rarely balance my meals, but I think it's because all my food is super bland, and gross. Maybe I'll be better at it when I get back to the States….

Aneta February 17, 2011 at 7:50 am

i always reuse my gym clothes. 100% with regular yoga or light cardio and weights. 90% when doing regular cardio and/or running. 10% after excessive sweating from hot yoga or long sweaty runs! hahah
i guess we are all lazy one way or another!

Mallory February 17, 2011 at 8:10 am

I love the food pyramid!! Especially the fruit section!!!

I don't wear the same workout clothes twice in a row but I admire that you do! I buy my sports bras at Target too! I love their socks too, they are the best. I like Nike for everything else though. My favorite workout song has been the same song for quite a while now… "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. I love it.

Run with Jess February 17, 2011 at 8:12 am

First of all, you need to change the name of your blog to Skinny Runner Girl – you are soooo tiny!!

I get workout clothes from Target, Under Armour outlet store and a variety of online places. OMG, I sweat so hard during workouts, my clothes are drenched. I can imagine wearing them twice! Okay, maybe yoga or walking…
Food is my weakness area… I really need to concentrate on making it more "complete"

Great playlist – think I need to steal a couple of those for my ipod. My power song right now is "Let It Rock" Rudolf & Lil Wayne.

Missy February 17, 2011 at 8:26 am

Well sorry but no I don't wear workout clothes more than once, I can't stand the feeling of sweat! lol
I usually buy workout clothes from Nike outlet, and Target/Walmart.
Right now I really like More by Usher and Born this way by Lady Gaga, I have to get those on my ipod!
I really am trying to get my meals balances more now, so I am paying more attention to what I am eating and how much etc….catch me in a few months to see if I have improved!

Anonymous February 17, 2011 at 8:28 am

Ahhh THANKS for sharing the playlist!! I can't wear workout clothes twice in a row because I sweat too much! I do, however, change my clothes and stink out my classmates at school with sweaty hair because sometimes showering is too much work! :)

my little celebration February 17, 2011 at 8:31 am

Oh yes. I wear my workout clothes twice ALL the time. I lay them out on the floor to "dry out" between workouts and I think it seriously concerns my husband.

brooke @ E.F.F. February 17, 2011 at 8:37 am

i totally wore the same workout clothes two workouts in a row. AND i didn't take a shower. thanks for not making me feel bad! youre my new bestie (all my other ones made fun of me) haha. :)

ratherthecouch February 17, 2011 at 8:43 am

If you think that's pale you need to come stand next to me. I call it my anti-cancer tan.

Jen February 17, 2011 at 8:47 am

Check out those guns! Holy cow girl, that weight lifting is paying off!
I wish I could wear the same workout clothes in a row. I sweat like a pig in July so there is just no way. But if I could get away with it, I totally would!
I hope you serve salads at your future restaurant. I would try and eat there every day! I love that you dream BIG! Teach me!

catiepat February 17, 2011 at 8:47 am

Do you ever wear the same workout clothes two workouts in a row.

– If they don't get too gross :-)

Where do you buy your workout clothes from?

– I get my sports bras at Target too!!!, anywhere they sell Nike stuff, and the Running Company

What is your favorite workout song right now?

– Like a G6, Far East Movement. I love, love, love it!!!!

Do you try to balance your meals with the food guide pyramid?

– I try, but I love chocolate and cookies way too much!!!

Kathie February 17, 2011 at 8:53 am

Loving the playlist! thanks for sharing

lexilives February 17, 2011 at 8:55 am

Love Who Dat Girl!! Did it at Zumba last night!!

Mamarunsbarefoot February 17, 2011 at 8:58 am

Yes I have worn the same clothes, so long as I wasn't a sweaty mess.

Hmm I haven't bought new running clothes in a long time. My husband does that for me.

NO I don't pay attention to their guide.

Dorry February 17, 2011 at 8:58 am

I recycle my workout gear, too! Usually just the sports bras, though. Probably gross, but I can't imagine washing them every single time…unless I run outside in the Texas summer…or Bikram yoga. Then they simply have to be washed almost immediately. I buy workout clothes at various places -Target for sure. I love your new PURPLE top!! I think your dinner sounds perfect. :)

Chunky Monkey February 17, 2011 at 9:01 am

Like a G6 is my big motivational song right now. I thought it was interesting you mentioned a "motivational board" I am curious if you have pictures of it. I started clipping out pictures from magazines of things that inspire me and using my daughter's poster board. The fam kinda giggled at me but not in a mean way…more like oh what is she up to now. :D

lauravirginia February 17, 2011 at 9:05 am

Girl, you are ripped! Okay, my goal is for my arms to look like yours. I better start going to Body Pump every day of my life. :) And OF COURSE I wear work out clothes multiple days in a row. Sports bras go for like a week only because I don't have very many. Okay that's sick, I know. Please still be my friend.

Alyssa @ Life of bLyss February 17, 2011 at 9:08 am

CUTE, cute shirt! and your arms are craazay.. love it!

I hit up Target on the reg for my workout gear. tops, sports bras, shorts, long sleeves, leggings.. it's all there!

Melissa February 17, 2011 at 9:13 am

If I have back to back workouts, I will wear the same thing. :)
I love buying workout gear at Target and splurge sometimes at Lululemon and Athelta.

Ashley February 17, 2011 at 9:16 am

yes I definitely wear the same workout clothes — there is no sense in dirtying MORE clothes. I am saving water by not washing MORE clothes than necessary ;)
I LOVE the sportsbras at Targe =)

Bess@Bess Be Fit February 17, 2011 at 9:21 am

yeah your bod rules, I wish I could borrow it. Especially when I run…you seem much more aerodynamic than me haha :) You make me wanna eat skittles more than anything, they should probably hire you for advertisements and commercials and stuff. And its totally normal to wear the same clothes, I mean, why get more sweaty??

Reply February 17, 2011 at 9:46 am

Love your food pyramid guide! Sometimes I wear my workout clothes twice in a row but then I think everyone can smell how bad I smell. :(

Kristina February 17, 2011 at 9:49 am

Of course I wear my workout clothes two days in a row- it saves water and is good for the environment! Don't tell, but sometimes I'll work out in the evening, sleep in them, and then work out in the morning. Ew.

Do you love Skittles all the time or just when you're training? I cannot control my Skittles cravings when I'm training for a marathon but the rest of the time don't really care about them.

Caroline February 17, 2011 at 10:07 am

No on the clothes because I sweat too much
So I handwash everything :(
I buy at Nike outlet and sports authority they always have clearance racks with last year's stuff. Got Nike tempo shorts for $9.99 yesterday!
Also online at runningwharehouse for shoes.

Songs: I live the latest Avril Lavigne and forget you don't remember by whom
Food: I try for my boys. They would do just the candy group if it was up to them!! Can i send them over for the long weekend?!!!

Kelly February 17, 2011 at 10:09 am

OMG! Lululemon work out clothes all the way. If you want to stay in this business then you need something from there ;) no. really. I only have one thing from there but that is because I saved all my pennies for a pair of pants and they ARE AMAZING!! My sis has like 9 things from there and I have tried on everything in the stores… 9 times. Wishing. Anywho… you should check it out. PS look at you all famous and what not…. with a million comments on every post. oh and PPS I have never been a big runner but you have motivated me to run another race.

Shannon February 17, 2011 at 10:15 am

I definitely wear the same clothes for a couple… or few… workouts in a row. I consider it being eco-friendly, cuz that way I don't have to wash my clothes as often, thus conserving water.

Target is my go-to, and sometimes Wal-Mart. Heaven forbid I spend more than $10 on a pair of shorts, or more than a few bucks for a 4-pack of sports bras from Wal-Mart.

Um, I need new workout tunes… but I'm also too cheap to pay .99-1.30 for a song…

And I don't do my meals to the food guide pyramid. I think it'd be nice, but it doesn't happen.

wesa121 February 17, 2011 at 10:20 am

I so can't get away with wearing workout clothes 2x! I sweat like a man, anything over 3 miles and my clothes are saturated. Yuck.

I buy clothes from Academy Sports and Dick's Sporting goods, clearance of course : )

My FAVORITE workout songs right now are:
Booty Bounce by Dev
and Bass Down Low by Cataracs ft. Dev
*great beats but lyrics are a little salty!

I try to balance out my day overall, as far as the food pyramid. My own personal rule is to get a carb serving I have to eat a protien serving. Otherwise I'd just eat cereal and bread all day!

I LOVE your blog : )

Page February 17, 2011 at 10:22 am

SUPER cute new shirt!

runningonwords February 17, 2011 at 10:31 am

I'm really bad about re-wearing my running tights (I wear underwear!) and occasionally a sports bra if I forgot to wash one. Ooops!

Heather February 17, 2011 at 10:44 am

Yep, I wear the same workout clothes two workouts in a row…I don't have that many and I don't have time to wash them everyday. I guess I need to buy more.

The last sports bra I bought was from Kohls.

Caitlin February 17, 2011 at 10:48 am

Target=the best! And girl I wear the same 3 workout outfits for a month in rotation! And the food pyramid guide isn't really intended to be for extremely active people so no worries!

Christine February 17, 2011 at 10:52 am

All of the Lights by Kanye West is on my play list twice right now!

TNTcoach Ken February 17, 2011 at 11:17 am

Showing off the guns! I have old man smell and can't wear the same workout cloths two days in a row. I even hate the smell of me! LOL

blondevue... February 17, 2011 at 11:19 am

That shirt is darling! You look great in it! Ok…and I confess, I have worn the same thing twice in a row. (once) and yeah its embarrassing. LOL I feel as though EVERYONE in the Gym knows. But really…they probably don't.
For all the know you own two of the same shirt and same pants! :D

Kate February 17, 2011 at 11:22 am

I am definitely guilty of wearing the same workout outfit twice in a row. I figure, it's dirty and you're about to get sweaty and dirty, so what does it matter? Right.

That meal looks completely balanced (and delicious) to me!

I love that top!!! It is so cute! Especially on you. It probably would not be as cute on me. I gained 2 lbs since the marathon 2 weeks ago. :( Sad face. See! Running really does allow me to eat anything I want! As soon as I have to stop running or run less, I gain weight. SO boo-ya to those people that say runners can't eat whatever they want. We can! :)

Pam February 17, 2011 at 11:27 am

I will wear the same clothes for two workouts but not in a row. I'll just throw them in a pile and wear them again in a few days. At least that way if anyone is paying attention to what I'm wearing, at least there is the ILLUSION that I do laundry occasionally.

Lindsey February 17, 2011 at 11:31 am

I thought of you when I saw this article in the New York Times today- "What Really Causes Runner's High?" Maybe they can bottle this up!

Bobbie February 17, 2011 at 11:49 am

Hi Janae, This is my first time posting a comment but I wanted to tell you that I love your blog, I totally feel like I know you just from reading it. I am a fairly new runner and you are a huge inspiration, I can't wait for the day when I can run a marathon on a treadmill.

Yes to the wearing workout clothes 2 days in a row. Although the other day at the gym I realized I smelled really bad, I sweat soooo much when I run so I am gonna try not to do that so much.

I'm super cheap so i find a lot of stuff at thrift stores and sales. The only thing I spend a lot of money on is my shoes.

I love to listen to Nickelback and 3 Doors Down when I run.

I pay no attention to the food pyramid when I eat, I'm trying really hard to eat more veggies and protein otherwise I would live on carbs.

Big Daddy Diesel February 17, 2011 at 11:53 am

LOL, I am having a craptastic week and this made me smile!! Thanks!! Too bad I live so far away, Billy and I can be the aid station, handing you water and skittles, play video games and hold up signs, rooting you on, we could make a comedy movie based off a treadmill marathon outdoors

Jess @ Blonde Ponytail February 17, 2011 at 12:06 pm

I'm going to use your food guide pyramid if skittles come with every meal! Love that pink top you have–you do make everything look good tough! I get most of my running clotes from Nike Elite (WSU coaches get a small stipend), and if Target weren't 75 miles away, I'd be there in a heartbeat!

On vacay, I'll totally double up my workout clothes or rinse them in the sink! Have a fantastic day future olympian!!

Jen February 17, 2011 at 12:10 pm

I have to know how you got all those songs on one CD!!! Tell me your secrets!

Jen February 17, 2011 at 12:11 pm

Sorry, I should be more specific, for the music exchange that you sent!

Yogi Bear February 17, 2011 at 12:12 pm

Okay…I'm so glad that there are other people out there who wear the same workout clothes, ha! I love reading your blog – you're so funny! :)

ShortSkirts February 17, 2011 at 12:12 pm

Cute top. When I started running in the mornings, and I'm not a morning person, I'd work out the night before, Yoga or elliptical, and then go to bed dirty so that I'd be forced to shower in the morning, so I might as well run too right?

It worked surprisingly well as motivation haha

Jenn February 17, 2011 at 12:13 pm

Hey girl!
I'm so happy you liked it!! I know it's not running stuff but I loved it!!
And yes, please come run with me!! Im totally with you on the culinary school, I love baking so I'd go to pastry school!!
I agree, we were so meant to be bffs!! :)
Hope your having a great day

Rose February 17, 2011 at 12:20 pm

I've started trolling thrift stores for workout clothes, and man, it's a gold mine. Which means that most of the time there's nothing, but occasionally there's something really awesome, like Lucy Capris for $4.99 or a pristine Lululemon sports bra for $2.49.

lifeofapnwgirl February 17, 2011 at 12:21 pm

LOL!!! Running on a treadmill outside would be so funny.. I saw someone spinning outside once.. that was pretty funny.

I get my workout clothes pretty much everywhere. but mostly Lululemon now.. I work there tho.. so it only makes sense.

melissadishes February 17, 2011 at 1:05 pm

I am ghostly white all over, even my face, lol!

I do try to balance my meals, if not, I'd probably only eat oatmeal, pb, and chocolate.

I get my workout clothes from all over. Local running store sales, Academy, outlet malls (Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Saucony), Target, TJ Maxx. I buy whatever is cheap and I like. And I often wear things that dont match

Reese's Runner February 17, 2011 at 1:13 pm

It's like going to a gun show for middle school boys. Hahahaha they are so cute! Keep up the good work crazy!

chelsey @ clean eating chelsey February 17, 2011 at 1:16 pm

I always wear workout clothes two days in a row – whoops.

Victoria Elizabeth February 17, 2011 at 1:38 pm

My motto is, if it does not smell like a rotten egg, then there is no problem wearing it again! It would just mean more laundry to do if I didn't!

I try to keep my diet balanced with the food pyramid (emphasis on the word try!) But chocolate and pizza always seem to get the better of me!

Stefanie D. February 17, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Hahaha, this post cracked me up. I actually just thinking the other day, "Wow, it is kind of gross that I sweat in the same close more than once before I wash them. What if I came across the same people at the gym?? They would think I was so gross." Ohhhh, good times. :)

Ok, so it totally makes me feel like a celebrity when you leave comments on my blog. Because you are totally a blog celebrity. :) THANKS!

nizzy February 17, 2011 at 2:26 pm

That salad looks delish! I get crabby too if I miss a run, so don't feel too bad. I can't reuse my gym clothes. I sweat so much it looks like I jumped into a pool!

Katie February 17, 2011 at 3:04 pm

erm, i'm embarrassed that i wear my clothes sometimes longer than that….tuesday night…wednesday morning…wednesday night. i'm a gross girl!!

marathonmaiden February 17, 2011 at 3:33 pm

look at those guns! hahaha

klh February 17, 2011 at 3:41 pm

LOVE the food pyramid :)
I have too many faves right now to say BUT I do like your spin list!
And a negative to wearing workout clothes back to back! Hope you had a great day girl!

Katie :)

All Things Jaime February 17, 2011 at 3:43 pm

Love the shirt! I can't wear the same clothes back to back . . . I sweat WAY to much! Maybe it's the Florida humidity, but I am gross! Like disgustingly gross.

Emma (Sweet Tooth Runner) February 17, 2011 at 4:13 pm

K, well that's sorted then. I'll fly to Utah with a treadmill, you move YOUR treadmill outside, and we'll run together whilst munching on Skittles. Plan?

And don't even get me started on washing my workout clothes. It's called Nike Dri-Fit, and it's my excuse of choice:)

Girl, your guns ROCK! Sexy beast you!

Stephanie February 17, 2011 at 4:19 pm

I'm all about tasting the rainbow. :)

XLMIC February 17, 2011 at 4:34 pm

Your food pyramid is great! lol

I realized the other day that all of my workout gear is at least 10 years old… that's what happens when you take 8+ years off :P

Reannan February 17, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Lately I've been stuck on Carrie Underwood
– "Undo it" and "Songs like this" are both good!

Loooooving the shirt!!

Kate (What Kate is Cooking) February 17, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Not going to lie… sometimes I wear the same workout clothes for an entire week!

Siobhan @sio 'n the run February 17, 2011 at 5:34 pm

You are so funny and I will pee my pants a little from laughing too hard if you put a treadmill outside and run a marathon. Please do it!

My fav workout gear is from lululemon.

Fav workout song is waaaaay too hard to choose. Hmmm at the moment I'm gonna say Hello by Martin Sloveig and Dragonette.

Laura February 17, 2011 at 6:13 pm

LOVE that top! The color is so fun for spring! I love that song by Train… kinda makes me want to get married myself!!

Pixie February 17, 2011 at 6:29 pm

OOOOOhhhh it fit perfectly! I love it, purple is your color. New workout clothes make me want to get my treadmill strut on. I hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Rachel February 17, 2011 at 6:42 pm

Who Dat Girl is the BEST song to run to!!!!!!!!!

Nicole February 17, 2011 at 8:21 pm

I always wear the same workout clothes & thats a big fat win if you ask me!!!! :) you are so cute and so tiny! how do you do it!?

Shane and Jena Rowley February 17, 2011 at 8:35 pm

Dear Avocado,

I can't believe Janae and I never shared our love for you with each other. Nothing has ever tasted better. Keep doing your thing.

Dear Janae,

You make me miss running, I can't wait to get back to it. Although I will never win a race, in an avocado eating contest, I would dominate. Keep doing your thing. You're the greatest!

Ashton + Brian February 17, 2011 at 9:09 pm

some of my fav workout clothes (and sports bra) have been from Gap Body! I was pleasantly surprised!

Kelsey February 17, 2011 at 9:44 pm

Maybe you should just pour skittles ON the salad. Is that too much?

Tara February 17, 2011 at 10:37 pm

I have listened to Marry Me by Train EVERY morning for the last 3 weeks. I LOVE IT!!

I wished I lived in Utah and could come to your spin class. I miss it so much!

RunningOnCoffee February 17, 2011 at 10:41 pm

At first I thought there were yellow and purple skittles on your plate 'o' broccoli. I had a flashback to the movie Elf where he puts M&Ms on his spaghetti :) Oh, and I would add Peanut Butter to the fats category! I'd love to see someone running on a treadmill in their front lawn – ha!

Rewearing workout clothes? Guilty if I don't have a clean sports bra. I hate it though. I try to avoid it because I don't want my skin to break out.

Workout clothes: I loved Target's sports bras while I was barely running 1-2 miles. Then I realized that I needed more support…I just use them for spinning now. I have a couple Moving Comfort and Under Armour Sports bras. My running clothes are a lot of lululemon, a little Target, a little new balance, a pair of Nike winter tights, and very little Lucy. That Pixie Tank is super cute.

I don't think of the food pyramid (besides, didn't they reformat it to some stupid vertical lines?? that's not a pyramid anymore!!) I just try to eat many fruits and veggies (I shoot for at least 5 for the day), enough protein (65g+), and enough fiber (25g+).

RunningOnCoffee February 17, 2011 at 10:44 pm

ps, I tried to look up your Pixie tank and I found this bizarro website for pixie clothing…

Can you please share if there's a website for where that tank came from!?

J February 18, 2011 at 6:19 am

I wear the same thing to run in all the time especially in the winter. I only have a few pairs of under armour stuff so I need to reuse. It gets stinky but its alright – i usually run alone!

birdyleaps February 18, 2011 at 11:54 am

Oh my goodness, Girl, I totally have worn the same workout clothing twice. Usually, I console myself by saying, "I didn't really get that sweaty." I am gross!

I have been bumping to "Who Dat Girl?" on the 'mill too and I love it… (she ain't a rock star, but she got groupies…)

I never got the chance to wish you a Happy Birthday! I hope it was awesome and sweet just like you!
