Zach Morris and Crescent Rolls

Craving carbs.  Easy fix.  Make these crescent rolls.

As I was making these (for Billy obviously, I don’t really like warm, doughy, carbolicious items)…..the leftover cinnamon sugar from my snickerdoodles I made on Sunday was staring at me.

I may have filled three of the croissants with it.  I think I ate all three of them before Billy realized I even made a cinnamon-sugar version.

And yes there was shortening in the recipe.  You only live once and I refuse to be on my death bed when I am 103 years old thinking, “why didn’t I enjoy my carbohydrates to their fullest during my running days?”

We made some spaghetti and a spinach salad to go with our rolls.  I am pretty sure the bread item of the meal should be the main course and everything else belongs on the side.

Billy always makes the noodles.  He is so much better at it….mine always end up too mushy or they stick together like glue.

Favorite Carb…ready, set, go!

-Definitely my homemade cinnamon sugar braided bread or anything shaped as a cookie.

Who was your biggest TV/Movie Star crush when you were growing up?

-Uncle Jessie (Full House)

-Zach Morris and AC Slater (Saved by the Bell)

-Kurt Cameron (Growing Pains)

-Corey (Meets World)

Mine was Kirk Cameron 100%! I totally thought I was going to marry him! I posted about this before, but it was funny, I used to pray for him! Now I have his testimony downloaded on my computer :)

oh yes Zach morris and kirk Cameron! such cuties. I need to make these cinnamon rolls for my hubs! I wonder if they still look as good as yours if I used Gluten free flour. Oh and shortening….good stuff. We use the Pure Irish butter (kerry Gold). Can't live without it!

yummmm where we live, we can't get crescent roll dough, so now I have a recipe for them!!!!!!! my mom makes these wonderful apple dumplings with crescent rolls, granny smith apples, cinnamon, white and brown sugar, butter and sprite. =D
As for my faaaaaavorite carb, I'll have to go with fresh, homemade bread like we buy every day here! =D

Definitely Zach! I watched an hour and a half of saved by the bell yesterday when I was running. Flashback city!

UNG! I love carbs:
-Pasta (I worked for a while in an italian restaurant. it sucked but the food was great!)
-Fresh baked bread
-Waffles
-Sticky buns

I was in love with Leo, Titantic era. Ahhh, he was so dreamy. Being a child of the 90's it was appropriate to be crushing on grungy boys from grungy bands, or Billy Joe from Green Day with his excess eyeliner. You get the picture.

I wanted to marry Kevin Arnold (pretty much up until I married Brent, come to think of it).

And I wanted to make out with Jordan Catalano.

Zach Morris for sure. And I might still watch SBTB sometimes when I'm getting ready for work. : )

Favorite carbs: Chips and cheese dip. I never buy the stuff to make cheese dip because I know it'll be a disaster, but when we go to Mexican restaurants and someone orders it for the table… I turn into this crazy monster person who is desperate to get as much cheese dip in her mouth as possible. That may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but that's what it feels like.

TV crush: Will Smith on Fresh Prince of Bellaire!!

Probably bread fresh from the oven. So delicious!!! And chips and salsa.

Definitely Zach Morris! Maybe a little JTT too :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… those rolls look amazing!!

My favorite carbs are definitely breads. Bread is amazing. :)

And I definitely had a crush on Zack Morris, too. Are you ready for THIS though? When I was younger, like 7 or 8, I had a crush on Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks. I kid you not. :)

Fav tv crush… probably Brandon from the original 90210, I am really dating myself aren't I, ahah!

Carbs were/are garlic knots and a heaping bowl of pasta!

Crush was definitely Alyssa Milano on Who's the Boss?

Reply

Favorite carbs are basically any kind of bread.

Crush, ha, Charlie Slater from Diagnosis Murder… and Shawn on Boy Meets World.

I agree entirely that bread should be the main course!

Reply

Kirk Cameron was my first crush but I really liked John on Chips. I know he wasn't a teenager or anything but I thought he was HOT!
Favorite carb: brownies, cookies, pie. And if it's fruit pie it counts as semi healthy. he! he!

Have to say that I did have a crush on Tom Cruise and then when Katie Holmes married him , I didn't feel so bad for having a crush on a much older man since she is the exact age as I am. ;) Your food pics have once again made me sooooo hungry!

Cinnamon Sugar makes everything better! I love drowning my popcorn in it, even tho popcorn is not a carb… I loved Zach Morris and Uncle Jesse too, but I think Andrew Keegan was the reason alllll of my allowance went to Teen Beat magazine…

Reply

I loved Zach Morris and Jack from Boy Meets World :)

Reply

Great rolls! Love cinnamon!

Well, I can't answer your question, never watched too much TV.

Reply

Yummm! I love carbs! Millet bread is my favorite. :) Cookies come in second. Bagels are awesome..even better than doughnuts! I need to get my hands on some good gluten-free bagels, or make some!

Favorite tv star crush: Uncle Jessie and Kurt Cameron from Growing Pains! We are one in the same!

Will Smith as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I'm still in love with Will Smith, but then he was lanky and endearing. Swoon.

Reply

I love pasta and chicken wing dip (is that a carb?) I just checked, the dip only has 20g of carbs for 1/3 of a cup. Hmmm well if I eat all of it then thats a lot of carbs. Oh how I love carbs.

I think I had a crush on Corey from Boy meets world, but I can't remember.

Reply

I honestly dont know if I could narrow it down to ONE carb… oats, sweet potatos, cereal, squash, BREAD. OMG BREAD! ahahahaha

Ummmm my biggest crush was mike modano, rookie year. If that doesnt make me any more canadian that I was drooling over a hockey player (who is STILL hot) and not NKOTB I dont know what does!

Reply

JTT! Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I used to sit in my "clubhouse" and write him love letters.

Favorite Carb is sweet breads like Banana Nut!

Reply

I am totally on the same page with Zach and Kurt. And how about Leo Dicaprio guest starring on Growing Pains??

You were into Corey? Lol. Geek ; p

Any cheesy bread. Or breadsticks. Or… anything, really. This reminds me that my mom brought back asiago focaccia bread from the States… yummmm…..

Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Seriously. I went to see a movie of his with my friends, and we screamed during the opening credits when his name came up. I am not even kidding.

Reply

Any homemade bread or soft pretzels. YUM!

Who said Jordan Catalano?!?! That just brought back great memories.

Reply

Oh, how I love some fresh, warm, doughy bread! Add cinnamon and sugar and I'm in heaven! I may make those crescent rolls tonight.

Definitely Uncle Jesse, Zach, Slater, and Shawn from Boy Meets World. I also loved all the boys from Backstreet Boys and NSync.

Christmas break officially starts this weekend, and next week I plan on watching SBTB every morning. :)

You are so funny, and thanks for the compliment – hahahahaahaha..

OMG I'm so craving garlic bread, and those buns haven't helped. Regardless if they don't have anything to do with garlic.

Reply

L.O.V.E Carbs…maybe a little too much :)

Definitely would choose Uncle Jesse. There is nothing like a man with a mullet singing in a band and wearing leather pants.

Reply

Hands down I would kiss my Teen Beat poster of Kurt Cameron when I was in my tweens for sure!

Yummy Carbs!!!! The whole reason behind me running as well. I am going to have to admit in public I am a Carb adict. Yes I am getting help for it as well.

Reply

Those look delish! I love cinnamony sugary things. My favorite sweet carbs…probably cookies or brownies and I'm a big fan of crusty/seedy bread and also pasta – I used to think Mexican was my favorite food but Italian has taken a giant leap in that category. Still too close to pick a fave.

Reply

Yummy, I too love carbs! Somedays that's all I eat, and I know I shouldn't!
Cereal, pasta and crackers are my downfall.

Kurt Cameron was my crush too. And the boys of NKOTB!

Reply

Cookies. yeh. cookies for sure. Id probably add cinnamon sugar bread just because you got me thinking and dreaming of it.

I am def. on the JTT train. Had a "celebrity crush" photo wallet… my sister and I cut out wallet sized photos from Teen beat… and mine was full of JTT photos. oh brother. those were the good ol' days eh?

Reply

Those crescent rolls look AMAZING. I'm totally doing that! And my crush was deffffinitely JTT. I had pictures of him everywheerre.

2 things.

1) My childhood T.V. crush includes all of the ones you listed (minus Kirk Cameron, I couldn't get on bored with that), as well as Steve Urkel of Family Matters. Not so much the character, but I remember at one point in like 4th grade I realized Jaleel White (the actor who plays Urkel) was hot. And it was over, I've loved nerds ever since.

2) When you said your noodles stick together like glue I immediately sang, "whoa oh whoa oh, stuck like glue, you and me baby we stuck like glue." I love Sugarland even if Jennifer Nettles is allegedly a homewrecker.

Reply

hmm used to be French baguette but cannot eat that anymore…

Crush: Larry Wilcox from CHIPS…see I am over 40…so that is my excuse!!!

Reply

Really into roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes right now. Gluten-free living has really cramped my carb style :(

As a youngster, Peter Brady on t.v. and Robert Redford in the movies. I am WAY over 40. lol

Just found your blog via Mama Laughlin’s blog. And have been reading every entry since the beginning of this blog. You crack me up! And your running times are inspiring- you are one fast cookie!

I had to finally comment on one entry- because you and I had the EXACT same crushes growing up. I especially loved Uncle Jesse. This may explain why I am often attracted to older men.

Can’t wait to read all your other entries and catch up to present day! ;)

P.S. I have had zero productivity today at work thanks to reading your old entries. Don’t tell anyone!!
