Saturday Shananigans

by Janae on December 4, 2010

Slept in till 8:30.  It was magical.

Taught spin and pounded 45 minutes out on the elliptical while catching up on my celebrity gossip on E! Network.  I always ask myself why I care about celebrities lives…but I think that it is just to help make myself feel a little less crazy.

There was also 15 minutes of foam rolling and 15 minutes upper-body strength training.  Saturday morning workouts=bliss.

I think the neighbors officially think I am crazy.  They just stare as I am perched up on our railing and rearranging my food to get the best shot.

Grilled apples, mozzarella cheese and feta cheese on squaw bread.

Spinach salad with steamed carrots and broccoli.  Later topped with salsa.

I believe that melty cheese is the answer to turning a sandwich from good to mouthwatering.

We ran a bunch of errands including Costco, Runners Corner, and the tool store and then came home.

Billy invited me to weld metal with him but I had another idea….Girl time with my homey Megan.

White chocolate and mint ice cream with the mandatory sprinkles and assorted chocolate chips.  That is my idea of a 4:20 fix.

What is your FAVORITE cheese to put on a sandwich?

-I love pepper jack and mozzarella obviously.

What was your Saturday workout?  Was it blissful?

My saturday workout was good, but not as long as I wanted it to be – I ended up going pretty late (around 11:30) and ran 4.5 miles. Then, I started doing some strength, but I got so hungry I thought I would die. So, I went home and ate. That's a workout in itself. :)

Any cheese makes my mouth water! Mozzarella is really delish.

No workout here today.. unless you count stuffing my face with far too many goodies.

I love the E network. Dan DVRs E-News for me every night so when I get home from the gym I can watch it during dinner. On the rare nights we eat before 7pm, he gets to watch ESPN, which isn't often :)

I didn't have time to get that run in today and the woman who did my sports massage told me both ITBs were really tight and I should probably hold off until tomorrow but she told me if I continue what I am doing I will be in good shape…

I love that everytime you "hang out" with someone it involves ice cream! How do you come up with such creative ideas for foods? I feel like all of my meals are so boring. Favorite cheese is colby jack. Mmmm. And my Saturday workout was so-so. I am thinking I will have to move my long runs from Saturdays to Sundays because I am just too tired to run far when I get home from work on Saturdays!

FroYo AGAIN!!! Dang, girl!! You should consider opening up your own shop… then again, you'd eat the profits. Your idea to work there in the summer is a better one. Then you can get your bonuses in frozen yogurt :)

Pepperjack or super sharp cheddar!! Yummm cheese. Oh wait…fresh mozzarella. That is heaven on earth. Wait, was I only supposed to pick one? Whoops.

Three mile run and an hour of spin class this morning. I was home, showered and back in sweats by 9:30. Amazingness.

That sandwhich looks amazing! I actually don't eat cheese on my sandwhiches usually… but I think I just realized that is because the sandwhiches I ate growing up (when my no-cheese sandwhich habit was established) was really crappy square slices of american cheese. Maybe I'll throw some cheese on my next sandwhich and see how I like it!

PS: your sandwhich looks amazing! I've never put fruit on a sandwhich… I'll have to try this.

That sandwich looks amaaaazing! Will have to try that combo soon!!

Spin class was full this morning (grr…) so my Saturday workout turned into a treadmill sprint/run: sprint .5 mile, 20 tricep dips, run .5 mile, 20 pushups… did this set three times through (3 sweaty miles in total) and called it a day!

Mmmm I love cheese and apples!

Apples with fat brie are the best..but on sandwiches I like PROVOLONE. Never thought of an apple in a sandwich. Great idea!

My workout was 15 miles. I forgot that am still getting used to running the day before LR, though and didn't eat enough carbs yesterday- so had a bad time on the big hill coming home.

Sign me up for your Boston thingy :)
Will you be making lunch?

This looks soooooo yummy! Please plan on coming for a visit to Oregon one of these days. WE can have a blog meet up for a race. But the only condition is that you get to be in charge of all food creations! I like alllll cheese. Oh so much. I think Harvarti would be my fav on sandwiches.

Love Mozz on a sandwich (although never thought of grilling apples…). Also, love bleu cheese on a burger!.
Yesterday I just ran 5 mi with my neighbor, but the real workout came in scrubbing my house top to bottom.

mozz is definitely my fave cheese. My saturday workout was kind of a bust. I did five miles, but felt like death because I didn't wait long enough after lunch to run. Luckily today's 10 miler made up for it.
